As one of a group of cyclists from Newcastle Great Park, it’s always a good stop off before the final stretch back home. Butties and a drink 👍, along with friendly service. Courtyard round the back is great when the weather allows.

Absolutely excellent breakfast - scrambled egg, bacon, beans toast and a pot of tea all for £8.85 Amazing ! And charming helpful staff too! Absolutely top recommendation. I’m a cyclist and we visit coffee shops everywhere all the time. Don’t miss this one - you won’t be disappointed.

Cycling over the hills, in to wind and not sure there was a cafe in the village, made this a wonderful sight. On opening the door the array of tray bakes shouted out to me. Settled in the courtyard, we soon got our much earned calories. Delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would make this a regular destination if we lived closer.

Highly recommended for a friendly welcome, homemade pies, flans tray bakes and scones. I enjoyed a wonderful steak and ale pie stuffed full of tasty eat all wrap in buttery light pastry. Good gluten free adaptations too.

Breakfast at Dolcissima is a super experience. Nothing is too much trouble and typical breakfast delights such as scrambled eggs, bacon beans and toast arrive in great quantity and very rapidly. Together with a pot of tea the cost was £8 which is amazingly reasonable and the quality of the food and the presentation was excellent. Bravo! Here is another hidden gem! I don't want to write this in one way as I don't want the place to be inundated with visitors - it's selfish of me but it really is that good!

It was good the crisps were bussin and the steak pie was also rather bussin no cap but the sausage had green green bits in it(not bussin).then to our surprise the ice cream vas drove past and we flagged it down and purchased some rather bussing mr whippy and the the guy who served them was also rather bussin no cap. And later that day after polishing off the mr whippys and a liter of apple juice(bussin) then me and my friends where sick in the side of the road. Definitely worth the 12 mile hike👍 Yours sincerely Mr whippy

Rude ignorant staff who completely ignored us while we stood beside them wanting to be served and carried on their conversation for ages. Ended up walking out through their gathering and still no acknowledgement. Will not be back.

Looking for a quick lunch whilst our children were enjoying the high ropes at Go Ape, we stumbled upon this nice little coffee shop. The short menu seemed all home cooked, served by friendly staff in the pretty little garden area. The prices were reasonable and the setting quite delightful. Not easy to find, but follow the signs from the village green; it’s well worth it.

This little village shop feels almost like a time capsule. They have the most important things together with a small tea room. After the pub closed this is now the only meeting place in this village. If I could afford it I would retire and...

An absolute gem on the Holy Island! We stopped here to grab a sandwich, some cake, and a drink to take with us as we explored the island. The customer service was excellent, the owner was an absolute delight and super helpful. The food is delicious, and a really good selection too! And on top of all that they sell maps and books of the island as well, it really is a must visit and a one stop shop for everything you need on your island adventures!

Fantastic!! Service, food and value, 6 of us all had different meals. All served together piping hot, huge quantities and absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't manage a pudding but they looked fabulous too.

Stopped in for breakfast on the way to do a walk at Kielder. Loved the place. Fantastic , well cooked , quality breakfast. Decent size and good value at £10.50 including toast and a brew. Couldn’t fault the food. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Ticked all the boxes for us. Dog friendly. Liked Falstone so much did a walk from there instead of Kielder and came back to the Old School for dessert. Bread and Butter pudding with cream or custard ! Although I was tempted by the Old School sponge. Thank you for a lovely experience
