Massala Indian Takeaway in Milton Keynes

EDIT - The place went downhill. They reduced the portions and quality and raised the prices. Will no longer touch the place. YOU have been warned. They are now a waste of cash. Old review: Out standing Curry house! But the food - Excellent ! The best I have tasted in Milton Keynes so far. We go there very often as we do not live very far.

We have had deliveries many times and the food has always been good. I ordered today at 18:30 for a 19:30 delivery. It's now past 20:30 and there is no sign of our food. The phone is not being answered; I get that they are probably busy but this level of service is unacceptable. I will not be ordering from them again.

Fast service good prices great food

Had my 2nd delivery from massala 🤩 Will not go anywhere else. Arrived on time.....very delicious 😋 great service. Well done massala x Just been delivered my 3rd meal on just eat 🙂 From massala..... What can I say... But the best Indian meal yet again 😋 Thank you massala you have my business 🙂

I ordered food from this place what a absolute sham the food is swimming in oil and half portions avoid at all costs

Absolutely shocking service as a family that’s self isolating I thought I would treat us. Waited a hour-fine they r busy during this I get it. First driver absolutely adhered to the social distancing unfortunately it was the wrong order.... I phoned massala to be told oh I’m so sorry it’s a new driver I’ll have a your order cooked fresh and sent out. 15 mins later another driver turned up absolutely disregarded the social distancing regulations with the missing items?!! Not a fresh order......once again I phoned massala to be told well what do you want me to do you have your order just in staggered stages.... I asked for a refund to be told no sorry you paid by card (as per the government advise) we can’t refund card payments.... I’ll send a driver with your cash meanwhile this telephone conversation was going on the delivery driver was very close to my personal space giving me abuse. Do not use at any cost 1 u get the wrong food sent 2 they do not adhere to the current government guidelines regarding social distancing. Finally another driver came with my cash refund and I was forced to take the money from his ungloved potentially unclean Hand!!! And a pound short just to put the icing on the cake!

I'm not sure what was just delivered but it definitely wasnt great. I've ordered from Massala before and been more than happy with the food. I wish I had of checked the more recent 'Just Eat' reviews though before ordering through the app, the Just eat reviews definitely show more honest accounts of the service and quality of food than the google reviews do, and that makes you wonder.... we waited almost 2 hours before our stone cold food was delivered, we ordered a few starters which were fine, all beit cold. The main course, a chicken Biryani, was just simply a bad fried rice with a korma sauce! Not sure what's happened to the restaurant but its definitely not how we or other remember

Just finished our meals from Massala and I have found my new Indian takeaway. The food was delicious, full of flavour and piping hot when I received it. The delivery man was very friendly and delivery was quick. Would 100% recommend.

Food is excellent, I ordered lamb Briani and butter chicken, I ordered the mild option and food was delicious as requested.

I arrive at this unique restaurant often as I like the good air that is unique to this restaurant. The personel is exceptionally loyal and qualified. The service is absolutely rapid. Needless to say, the food you eat is outstanding. I frequent often and I was always satisfied. The rate is modest. I recommend this place to to all.

Decent portion sizes, very nice tasting indian food all cooked to perfection rice spot on, nan bread lush and gorgeous taste coming from the food.

Tastes fantastic ! Great portion sizes, delivered on time and delivery driver was very polite. Tasted so good that I had to leave a review! I orderd a chicken Dansak, pilau rice, pashwari naan, onion bhaji.

Very nice food but I think they may have changed the chef as chicken tikka a little hotter than normal not as creamy

Ordered from here for many years. Dishes are very good and can be really delicious. The Korai and Jalfrezi curries are particularly good. Staff are also very friendly and orders have always been correct as far as I can remember. Highly recommend.

Love this place, prob the best takeaway indian i have had in MK.

Distinctly average, 3 dishes all of which seem to have been cooked in the same sauce with perhaps a slight adjustment for heat. All pretty bland. Chicken overcooked and stringy. Only dish with even the slightest spice was the "free" bombay aloo. Avoid

Just picked up lamb dansak and peshwari naan from here and oh my goodness it's absolutely delicious. Naan bread is one of the best I've had and the lamb in my dansak was so tender. Would highly recommend

Late delivery and no answer when you ring

Had a delivery and there was a missed item, the driver diddnt have the correct change and the delivery was 15 minutes late arrival. :( The food was okay.

Pre ordered for a set time this evening. Meal was lovely tasted fresh. Onion bhaji was yummy and not greasy, lamb in the byriani was tender and tasty. I ordered a phall which was really tasty, saag aloo very flavoursome. Staff really friendly and polite no hassle with telephone order. Food ready on time, will definitely be ordering again.

With the very negative reviews here I thought that I would offer a counter viewpoint. I have been eating food from here for a couple of years and found it to be a very consistent experience. Quality is always great, the phone ordering pleasant and stress free and I have never, never had any dishes missing on an order. Yes, it usually runs over the expected order time, but never by more than 10 minutes, but I'd take this every time for freshly cooked food. Thoroughly recommended by a very fusssy bloke.

Too many times they have let us down..... Tonight we had to phone after waiting 1 and half hours and were told the order had only just been received. Food eventually arrived after a total of well over 2 hours in total and it didn't have the extras you get for orders over £15. Will not use again.

Very poor! Really small portion sizes! Only some of our order actually turned up - I rang up to inform them and they then brought the rest over- by this time our remaining food was cold. would not order from here again!
