Pizza Express in Milton Keynes

No atmosphere and short staffed. Waited around 15 minutes to be seated, then a further 20 before anyone even acknowledged us to take our order (shouls have left by this point). It was a 40 minute wait from here just for dough balls and then another 15 on top for the pizza. Absolutely no service apart from one lovely guy trying to clean, serve and support (hats off to you for coming and apologising about the whole service, we appreciated you taking the time to explain). Food was ok, nothing amazing....would I return....no sorry. Whilst we were waiting for our food, a couple managed to arrive, then order, be served their food, eat and request the bill all in the same space of time... so says a lot about the mixed service.

Went to get 1 pizza to take away and was told "they are full tonight" there was 2 people there. Pretty rude if you ask me

I sent an email complaining to customer services and have had no reply. I also gave negative feedback on the survey that came through to my email. Again, no reply. So as no one can be bothered to reply and resolve my issue; here is my response: we came on 25th February to Xscape pizza express. Table of 7, it was my husbands birthday. The place was very quiet. There were two servers. It took 15 mins to take our order even though it was practically empty. The drinks we asked for were out of stock. It then took 40 minutes to receive our starters that were cold and sat on the pass for 10 of those minutes. They never collected our dirty plates and we pushed them to one side when they served our pizza’s a further 25 mins later. They never visited us to ask if the food was. We waited and tried twice to get their attention as we wanted to order more drinks and deserts by the male server who clearly focusing on attending to a table of 10-12 on the other side of the resturant. In the end we gave up and had to get up and go over to them to bring the bill. They DIDN’T then take our payments. So we then all put our coats on and walked up to the till to make him take our payment. He didn’t smile, he didn’t ask if we enjoyed our meal (which we would have told him absolutely not if he’d bothered to acknowledge us at all) and we had to then ask for our son’s brownie to be put in a box because he was meant to have got a desert with his child’s meal!

Had a lovely meal and service was great, Celine looked after us and was amazing, food came quickly and was perfect.

Will never return here...waited 1 hr for our meals to arrive only the adults came, no kids pizzas. They arrived 18 mins later, manager was a joke and didn't want to speak to me. Ruined our meal out with friends. No apology or explanation!! Pizza Express sort it!!!

Tried to pop in for a dessert at 9.15pm (they close at 10pm) was told by staff member they are not taking any more tables this evening.... only one table of 4 being used in there....disappointed and cheescakeless 👎🏻

I went to pizza express for first time with my family , Service was really fast , food was amazing and manager was very friendly and polite. We had an issue regarding buy one get one pizza reward . But he solved that issue quickly . We will definitely visit that restaurant again.

Went for our son's birthday. Celine is a stand out employee. Was very knowledgeable with offers available. Was very attentive and arranged for a celebratory dessert to be bought out. Temporary issue paying via the app, Trem was quick to sort this out for us. 10/10

When we arrived it was quite empty and lots of staff behind the bar area, but it still took a long time for anyone to come seat us despite them having seen us. Then the place was actually really filthy I only noticed after I ate that the floor beneath was covered in food, used napkins and cutlery. The food was decent, as expected from pizza express.

For the Xscape Pizza Express, Today we arrived at the door at 3:30pm (They were not totally busy) and waited 20 minutes. Then wouldn’t be let in when there was so many tables free. no explanation given. real bad attitude with person who looks like manger at the entrance. Poor service, very rude manager, not welcoming at all. We would never visit again and the worst experience ever.

Another visit to a different Pizza Express in Milton Keynes. My little one and I had a great experience here. We were served by Celine, she was amazing. Even she was the only waitress during the lunch hour, Celine never got flustered and showed total dedication and commitment to her duties and treated everyone to the same high standard of service. Moreover, I really appreciate the help of the Manager, Carlene, to resolve the check in problem on the app. Last but not least, the food was absolutely lovely. We definitely will back again in the not too distant future.

Servers did an amazing job bot should be recognised for their superb service and hard work. Definitely will be back!!

Waiter was friendly and nice but I've ordered a pizza an hour ago and it still hasn't arrived if I could I would give service a zero I'm pretty sure the area is under staffed

It’s a shame because the waitress was really helpful, nice and cheery but I was given the wrong plate of food, the meatball cannelloni I originally ordered eventually turned up after everyone else at my table had finished theirs, so ‘express’ they definitely ain’t and that didn’t have any meatballs in it and a tiny spider crawled out of my salad. Then to top it off they tried to charge me for the meal they brought out to me which wasn’t mine and they turned down my veterans discount. What an awful experience. Never again.

Arrived at 18.40. MK Xscape.Waited 15 minutes to be told only taking bookings. Short staffed. Went online and booked for 19.30 (as also heard that CMK having staffing issues). Went back for table. Got seated. Slow service, chasing half order while eating main. Food good. Whilst at table noticed someone just helping themselves to a table without checking in. Advised lead person who went over and took their order! No booking and about 6 of them.???? Won't be attending a Pizza Express or promoting them anytime soon based on the latter. As should not be turning away people when feel like it and to let people rock up when they do. Also had manager advise to contact her via email. No response and been a week. Do not take seriously of bad reviews. 😡

Booked a table for 4 of us for 6:45 this evening and arrived a few mins before our booked time Straightaway we could see that although it wasn’t fully booked, the restaurant was busy and appeared to only have two serving staff and possibly the manager working on the floor too After waiting a few minutes, a member of staff came and spoke to us and explained that she had to clear a table for us, which she went off to do. She then led us to a table and gave us some menus. It then took approx 15 mins before someone came to take our order. The young lady was very polite and apologised for the delay, but frustratingly she firstly took the order of the family next to us, who were seated AFTER we were! Our food was very slow to come out. Approximately 30+ mins. The food itself was very nice - we had 3 pizzas, one lasagne and a variety of items to share for starters I had forgotton it’s still half term, and there were a lot of young children in the restaurant, which made it extremely noisy (I accept this is no one’s fault) and I could see a lot of food waste on the floor by high chairs where the rubbish had all sadly been left by families for the poor staff to clear up! (Why do people think this is okay?!) Unfortunately there was one particular couple with two very young children sat at a table nearby. I can honestly say that they youngest did not stop screaming for the two hours we were in the restaurant. To say we could barely hear each other talk is not an exaggeration. The pitch went right through us and resonated around the restaurant. Sadly the parents clearly thought this was acceptable and did nothing to console the poor child except eventually try and force a dummy in the mouth despite the child trying to spit it out. Babies and young children get bored in this type of environment and clearly the youngest was really tired and just needed to be at home. None of this is the staff’s fault but it did definitely spoil the evening, as conversation with friends was difficult and the whole restaurant was affected by this screaming child - clearly the parents were oblivious The two staff and what we suspect was the manager were working incredibly hard on the floor, serving and clearing tables etc .. but they were obviously rushed off their feet and understaffed. As well as us, others were waiting for bills, to place order etc Certainly wouldn’t rush back again… although the food was lovely. Maybe a different day the experience could have been very different

I had an amazing dining experience at Pizza Express at Xscape Milton Keynes! Dorota was my server, and she was incredibly friendly, helpful, and kind. She made sure everything was perfect for me. The food was absolutely delicious, thanks to Noor, the talented chef. Every dish was cooked to perfection! Plus, the rewards program significantly reduced my bill, which was a fantastic bonus. Highly recommend this place for a great meal and excellent service!

Poor service, Not welcoming atall. When you order drink Glass is not cleaned. No check back on table if everything is OK. Dont see positive attitude person who served us. Chef cass was fantastic..food was very good.

We were quite tight on time which we informed front of house when we arrived. They were very good at getting us served promptly and we left in plenty of time due to their efficiency and professional manner.

Did not expect to wait nearly 2 hours for a meal, staff should have told guests the waiting time before being seated (a couple next to our table ended up leaving after their starter). The service wasn’t great, had to ask to be served, had to ask for the bill and no real interaction. Unfortunately, won’t be eating here again, potentially won’t be dining with any pizza express restaurants in the future. Staff customer service needs to be improved and overall management.

Visited here on April 10th for Birthday Celebrations and I was blown away by my service! The waitress was very friendly and kind, the food was cooked perfectly and well presented, and the other member of staff (maybe a manager?) noticed I was holding my sleeping baby and went and cut my pizza for me, which made it easier for me to enjoy my dining experience without having to disrupt my sons nap. I really appreciate this extra mile of kindness, and I’ll be happily returning as on a previous visit, despite it being a busy Saturday, we weren’t left or forgotten about! Thank you so much!!

Yesterday me and my partner went to have some food before movie. I ordered the Cesar salad with chicken. Im not joking or making up, but i wasn’t int expect that, the salads was done with 3 pieces of chicken, no tomatoes , no cucumbers.. a lot of salad leafs more then half bowl. On the top of that i found the piece of foil ( looks like the piece is when you open the bottle of sauce - need to take the foil from the top of bottle ) I understand that everyone is not perfect to make food, but the experience which i was having yesterday was terrible, i’m not to sure is because we come before 8pm , maybe the kitchen wasn’t having enough ingredients for my salads or maybe the main chef wasn’t in the kitchen to do my salads .. Really disappointed with food quality which i receive .

We booked the table for Sunday 24th March at 5.00pm for my husband’s birthday. We eat out occasionally because we have two toddlers and when we arrived the restaurant was closed with a sign on the door. Very upset that no one contacted us to let us know in advance. We even had a booking confirmation email.

There are two Pizza Express in MK, this one is better. Even better than the one in London Bridge. We ordered Margarita pizza,dough balls and wings. They are both excellent! Pizza is mouth watering and wings are in perfect tenderness. Staff is friendly and nice. I sure will come to visit again. All foods are yummy so I forgot to take a picture before we eat. 😋

We had great food at MK Xscape Pizza Express. But experienced rushed/stressed staff, flooded toilets and after 1hr25mins my son had still not had a dessert. Expressing my disappointment resulted in us being asked to leave 🤦🏻‍♀️ We arrived before 2 for a late lunch and was not informed about wait times before we were seated. At half 2 we had our starters. I could see other tables complaining, and people were being told they couldn’t come in to eat as they were backed up. One customer pointed out there were over 20 empty tables. We had our mains by 3. Food was great. At around 20 past 3 I took my son to the toilet and informed an employee cleaning tables around us we’d be back asap. Both toilets were flooded. Blocked sinks. Water EVERYWHERE…When we returned the table had been cleared and cleaned, my sons drink bottle and jumper missing. I asked a flustered employee where our belongings were. They went to get them. The woman we told about the loo visit then came over and asked what the issue was. I informed her about our missing belongings, the flooded toilets and how we’d been there 90+ mims and it was “taking the Michael”. She asked me not to be rude. I told her “taking the Michael isn’t rude, it’s the politer way of saying that”… that garnered laughter from other tables. She then asked me and my 7 year old to leave. I asked “what?”.. she said “you can leave”. I called her a clown and left… we thankfully got my sons jumper and drinks bottle back… i called her a clown as we left. The clown was a bulldog of a Spanish woman, dark mid length hair, short, hands on hips really not enjoying her day… We’ve been to some GREAT Pizza Expresses in the past. This one was the WORST. Avoid. I will be passing this on to their head office as we’ve never been treated like that in any restaurant.

Wouldn’t know if the food is any good. The restaurant looked about a quarter full to me, but was told they can’t do walk-ins, no explanation given.

The food was a decent price and filling. Nice for a quick and affordable dinner. We went on a weekday in the evening and the place was quite empty but still had a few tables occupied. First impressions were not the best as the manager who greeted us at the door wasn’t very friendly, didn’t even get a Hi until we initiated that we would like a table, basically having a mini stare off! Our waiter wasn’t much better, no smiles and she was not very friendly at all. I agree with another comment that the atmosphere was tense it made us feel very uncomfortable. Shame as I probably would’ve returned but overall didn’t feel very welcome. Maybe it was a bad day but definitely dampened our experience.

Usually the service etc has been good at all the Pizza Express pizzerias we've visited. This one let it down and I don't understand why. We arrived around 7.30pm for a quick meal, and it was quiet then and only became more so the longer we were there. The waiter/waitress service was acceptable but our meal was spoilt by the kitchen. There were three of us dining, two juniors (11 & 9) and the junior food came but I had to wait some time for mine. How hard can it be in a near empty pizzeria can it be to deliver three covers to the table AT THE SAME TIME? Fortunately this isn't our local establishment so we won't be returning to see if the service improves.I hope you have a better experience, than we did, when you visit

Place was busy. Not enough staff. We had booked a table, but no table was ready. We were eventually shown to a table that was barely wiped down, was still dirty. It had been set for two people, despite the booking was for four people. We had to ask three times for the additional cuttelry, twice after the food was placed on the table. The food didn't arrive for over 90 minutesa and was overcooked and cold. One person's meal didn't arrive. Told it would be 1 minute, but nothing arrived for another 10 minutes, and even then only once we asked about it yet again. We asked for bottled water three times, but never got it. Two of us managed to get a glass of coke. The other two of the party never got their drinks, despite repeated requests. The whole thing was shambolic. Note - we have been to lots of other Pizza Express outlets and they are notoriously variable in terms of quality of food and service; but this was by far-and-away the worst dining experience of all time.

You know exactly what you're in for with a pizza express - good food and a decent price. What was different here was exceptional service - a large party booking with little notice was not just easily catered for, but superbly. Charming and accommodating staff who simply couldn't have done more to help. Very pleased!

Not all pizza express's are the same This is one of the better pizza Express's in the area. Food is cooked well and timely. The staff are a lot more friendly and well organised than the one in midsummer place. It feels a lot more spacey and clean. Would recommend this one.

This is for Pizza Express Milton Keynes Xscape. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary today and unfortunately this meal put a damper on our day. Firstly, there was a line out of the door and nobody could seem to get any of the staff’s attention until a staff member came through the door and seated us. Secondly, it took an HOUR to serve us our mains and the pizzas were almost cold. Also people who were seated after us were served before we were. And thirdly, we weren’t checked on once and a staff member who I assume is the manager because she wasn’t wearing the uniform like the rest of the staff members, saw that my boyfriend was looking at her while our dirty plates were stacked (obviously meaning that we either wanted the bill or to look at a dessert menu) and she looked at him, SAW he was looking at her but then walked to another table on the other side of the restaurant and asked if they had finished when they were clearly still eating. Very poorly managed tonight.

Came here for dinner with my wife, and we were both pleased with our pizzas, as they were tasty. Pizza Express is the best chain restaurant for pizzas.

When we first arrived it took a considerable punt of time to be seated several members of staff ignored us and didn’t bother to acknowledge we were there which was disappointing. The complete saviour at that point was Celine, from the moment we were sat she was attentive, super helpful with questions, kept us informed about our food timings etc. she was also very friendly and lovely to talk to whilst ordering. I couldn’t have asked for a better service from her. Thank you Celine! The food was good all meals were tasty etc. all in all a good experience.

My wife and I called in for a lunchtime pizza and were given a warm welcome by the front of house staff member We shared a diavalo pizza which was very tasty The service was quick and attentive it's not first time we have been here but first review as I don't normally do reviews but thought it was well deserved We will be back again

The venue has been remodelled since our last visit. It looks great. The only downside is the noise levels. There apoears to be a complete lack of noise dampening fixtures such as wall or ceiling panels. The place was only half full but the noise made it difficult for me to hear. The server was prompt taking our order,and we could see it all liated in the app. Food was hot, looked great and was fab. Paying through the app is genius, and gave a great experience with no need to wait until a server had a free moment.

The food was good, but everything we ordered arrived at different times, which meant that some people were halfway through their dish or even completely finished before I even got my main.

Food was nice as is most pizza expresses, the service was dire, managed by kids unfortunately. Had we not used clubcard points to get the bill down I would have been savage with the experience.

This is for the Xscape pizza express.arrived today with a booking. We were given a table with highchairs which wasn't suitable as I have a 3 year old with me. Eventually was sat down and then manager came over with an excuse it was booked for another party. Which never arrived in the 2 hours we were there. Our drinks came to the table but no glasses. Our food was served and the guy in the waistcoat, assuming manager stood 2 feet away, muttered if we're happy with our meal and walked away. We have food in our mouths and couldn't even answer he walked away so fast. The children got menus but no colouring pots we had to ask for them. I decided to break my fast here, it's Ramadan. I tried to explain this to the waitress and she didn't understand anything so I didn't bother trying to explain any further having waited 15 minutes shifting tables. Luckily I packed dates with us to break our fast. Very slow service, starters took forever to arrive. No attention to detail here at all. Stadium is much better, think we will just stick to our usual spot ! Appalling service and hugely disappointed to be moved when no such party arrived. It was evident they wanted people to be seated a certain way, should just be honest about it !

Booked a table for 6 for a birthday - felt the service to be overbearing at times; from asking us to open the bottle of prosecco ourselves, asking umpteen unnecessary questions or coming over multiple times to take the plates away while i was still eating. This wasn’t an isolated feeling and those I were with felt we weren’t offered much privacy to eat. I understand how stressful it is to remember things while serving multiple tables, however numerous things were constantly forgotten so I had to chase them up myself. Aside from that, Alex (says that on the receipt, not sure if that’s her name) had her heart in the right place, it just felt a bit too much at times. She was trying way too hard to get everything right—which I respect—but sometimes sticking to protocol works better for both the customer and the waitress! Also worth mentioning that the dough balls were incredibly hot but the pizza was pretty much cold. Again, nothing too big of a deal, just feels necessary to point out for the future. On the plus side - great vegan options!

So delicious and fantastic service as always. I recommend the sloppy Giuseppe with added pepperoni! And all pizzas must be accompanied by their amazing house dressing to dip! Reminds me of dominos garlic and herb dip. Also, student discount is whopping 30% off Sunday-Thursday!

Staff are nice to you in the beginning but once you've paid the bill, managerial staff become hostile. Not going back there again. They can go do one

So made an order in store as the website wouldn't except gift cards as payment. When I made the order in the restaurant paid alot of money. I asked for thick crust they put it through as thin was waiting 30 mins for the order was then told they messed it up so had to wait another 30 mins so was there 1 hour in total then when I got home they had still messed the order up. Absolutely useless.

Literally the worst service I have experienced in a long time and I frequently visit restaurants, they forgot our food then told us that they didn't have 4 of the options, then deliberately left us waiting to pay for 15 minutes.

I had my pizza express delivered by deliveroo last weekend and I chose the vegan nourish bowl with some chicken and it is absolutely amazing! Love that salad bowl 🥗

Great service. We were in the last booking for the night but did not feel rushed or pressured to finish. Food was great, all items on the menu available. Vegetarian options varied and customiseable.

First visit in forever. Still has excellent pizzas and wonderfully friendly and efficient staff. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it did feel like we were in some kids' adventure playroom!! Parents mesmerised by their phones, oblivious to their offering running amok over the benches, throwing stuff and constantly in and out of the restrooms!!! Real shame, cos it's potentially a good eaterie.

Celine was amazing, very good waitress and extremely good at her job, what tops it off she gave us advice for our futures that we will most likely look at doing because of the passion in how she explains it, would highly recommend her to anyone that comes in

Really enjoyed the food, the service and how quickly we were seated with Celine moving tables to fit our group in. The food was made quickly, and was delicious. Our children really loved the food, and they are terribly fussy generally. It was very busy, with lots of happy customers enjoying their meals and my only regret is that this Pizza Express is not our local one.

Nice staff. We arrived very late, close to closing time and they allowed us to order and dine in without any pressure. Kids fed, back on our journey. If I visit the town again, I'd definitely eat there again.

Been here this evening, part of my pizza description was some like it hot, or something similar, this didn't have a single chilli in it & was tasteless, it was also supposed to be served with a side salad, a bunch of spinach arrived! On a large spinach leaf was a dead bug & a load of dirt (my son brought it home to look at properly under a microscope def a bug) mine was also burnt on top. My daughters was missing chilli & tomatoes, the only decent one was my sons kids meal. The service was extremely slow they made us late for our bowling booking. Wouldn't waste my money here again. Wasn't offered any condiments & nobody asked how our food was.

Very disappointing. Out of many things in the menu, No Sloppy Guessipi, a number of desert unavailable including caramel ice cream.

Was first seated at a broken table, moved to a table under a leaky air con unit (lots of harmful bacteria in those things) finally the third table was okay but the marble was chipped. Ordered a sharing starter and two mains, the mains arrived just before the starter which is disappointing. There was a serious lack of choice when it came to soft drinks and there was confusion when I ordered vodka with a mixer (I only received the mixer at first before it was corrected by being given a shot glass of vodka to add). We then received a jug of water but no water glasses, the waitresses were in all fairness very busy so we had finished before we could ask someone for some water glasses. Credit where credit is due, the food was hot and tasted lovely and there was no fault with dessert. Despite all staff being absolutely lovely I feel a little refresher course may be needed (nothing serious but would improve the customer experience) Because of the issues with the timing of service and the run down condition of the restaurant I would really struggle to recommend this restaurant. MK1 restaurant will give you the same food with a better experience.

Nice pizza, but half the menu wasnt available, none of the staff seemed to know why not. And the place isn't very clean. The cobwebs would look good at Halloween, but not on a summer afternoon in August!

Very average service and food. Waited 30 minutes before being offered a drink. Food took another 40/50 minutes to come. Pizza was under cooked in middle. Restaurant not even half full. Staff standing around chatting. Disappointing for a large chain. Management of floor seems to be lacking.

Booked a table for 7 for my birthday. 5/8/22 around 9 o'clock. Food was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals. Cant remember the waitress name. She had dark shortish hair and glasses. She was very friendly and attentative. Will definitely be back again. Great experience 5*
