Went with family. Fantastic meal, great service , the waiters were attentive and so nice. We all agreed it was one of the nicest meals we have had. The onions bhajis were the best we had ever tasted. We will definitely be back next time we come to.cornwall

We were stopping nearby whilst on holiday but had the dogs with us so ordered a take away. Having been to No4 Bistro and Seiner arms we wanted to try another restaurant and this was the best yet. Food was cooked to perfection and I noticed a fair few locals were eating there too The chicken Tawa is particularly good. Nice kick to it but not excessive

Excellent curry place we arrived at opening time we were quick to be seated the customer service was excellent and food arrived promptly and tasted delicious compared to the midlands food is slightly milder in spice but doesn’t lose on the taste was so nice wish they were closer to home

Had a takeaway tonight and took it back to the tent we were staying at. Got to say it lived up to its billing and one of the best we have had! We went with the set meal and all the dishes were fantastic! Highly recommend the freshness, quality, speed of service and friendly staff.

The food from here was outstanding full of flavour ….which made up for the shocking online ordering which is not the easiest especially when it insists you create an account which I feel is totally unnecessary ….I would throughly recommend battling on as the food more than makes up for it…we collected ours so got a small discount which was appreciated…if you are looking for good quality, flavoursome value for money food this place is where you want to eat …most definately be back.

Visited twice during our recent holiday. Loved it both times. It's a busy restaurant but they managed to squeeze us in on both occasions. Their curries are immense, excellent complex flavours with melt in the mouth meat. Good portion sizes with plenty of sauce to dip your excellent garlic naan in. So many Indian restaurants in our local town seem to be cutting corners on quality so it was fab to have a 10/10 curry on our holiday and get our long overdue fix. Thoroughly recommend. You won't regret visiting.

Arrived to an empty restaurant, but we watched it slowly fill up (always a good sign) Opted for poppadoms, dips, and a set menu for 2. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Hot & tasty! Asked to amend one main meal on the set menu to absolutely no issue at all. The meal was changed without extra charge! The staff were very attentive & couldn't do enough. We could not eat all of our meal, so we were given some takeaway cartons to use. Brilliant overall.

Fabulous went twice for Takeaway in the past week. It is easy to see why it’s in Cornwall’s top 10.We like to eat at the Summerhouse as well but it was closed in November so we ate Curry twice.Will come again next time we are down !

Me and my partner are away for a week in beautiful Perranporth. We decided to order a takeaway last night. We are from London and visit Brick lane for a curry on a regular basis. I’ve got to say the food we received from Massala was as good if not better, than any we’ve had from there. I fact my vindaloo was possibly the best I’ve ever had. We will be visiting this amazing part of England again, and will definitely be eating from this restaurant again.

Was actually recommended this venue by our taxi driver who was dropping us off for the evening so we could enjoy some drinks. When we arrived at the almost empty restaurant, we were placed at a tiny two seater table right next to the wider open door - where there was a strong gust blowing. Not comfortable at all. Further… the table is simply not big enough to accommodate the popadoms, pickle tray etc. So we asked to move, but was told not possible - despite the majority of the restaurant being empty. There were couples sat next to us on 4-seater tables, so the only reason to be refused this transfer was because they wanted to fill the window and make it look like the venue was full. The staff were simply not interested in accommodating my request, so we left.

I always order special biriyani on my first visit to any Indian restaurant for comparison. This one was definitely special the most tender lamb and flavoursome chicken I've had in a long time. Staff were pleasant and efficient, prices good.

Booked via their online system, got there and they didnt have our booking. Managed to fit us in even though the restaurant is quite small and it was busy and noisy. We decided to go for the set meal for two, the onion bhajis came out and were like shrapnel, totally dry and no taste. The curry was just ok. The bill came and we were charged for poppadoms which should have been included in the meal. we just paid and left , just wanted to get out of there. Not a relaxing meal. We thought we would give it another go, tried to book online, no confirmation received so I phoned, they said they couldnt do the requested time so hadnt responded! I arranged an hour later, the confirmation came with the original time on? In the end I phoned and cancelled and they couldnt find the booking anyway!

Disgraceful waste of money, in two dishes we had no more than four small pices of meet and a carton full of watery sauce. Waited 30 minutes after our given collection time, we should have learnt from our experience a number of years ago when they refused my baby son entry because he was in a pram !! Save your money and stay away

We had a take away this time as we couldn’t sit in. And yet again the curry was delicious. Only downfall is I thought it was a bit cold (we only travelled 5 minutes home). No reason not to visit again

Takeaway for six adults. Waited for over an hour but we had been told up front. Drove back to Crantock to discover—One main and one side missing from order. Korma sauce like soup, two mains really greasy and two nan breads in bits. Phoned the restaurant and they suggested I drove back to Perronporth, 9 miles, to collect the missing items however they would not be ready for collection for over an hour Plus half an hour return journey and it was already nearly 9pm. I ended up getting a £15 refund and making bacon sandwiches. I think this is usually a good restaurant but they could not cope with so many customers. They should have stopped taking orders earlier and concentrated on quality. Ended up having to bin a lot of the food and felt really cheated.

So we booked this meal prior to our trip for my husbands birthday we have done for the last 4 years coming here. Very slow in accepting the booking so rang up spoke to a lovely guy on the phone who confirmed the booking, no problems I then had 2 phone calls changing our times due to a large party. On the last call I rang up as the owner had rang but missed the call spoke to a guy won’t mention his name however he was rude and asked us to get to the point of with what we wanted to ask as he was busy. Really rude. That night they had a fortune out of myself and family. A little respect and customer service needed. On arrival to the restaurant my mum spoke to the manager who apologised but still very poor service after these few years returning. Amazing curries, no chapatis when we went, too busy to make these they said.

We arrived without booking and the waiter who greeted us initially said they were fully booked but then made a couple of calls and offered us a table which we gratefully accepted. The curries were gorgeous, service excellent. Would highly recommend

7.45pm booking, food arrived 9.30pm, long wait with kids. Lots of takeaway orders, staff too busy for restaurant service. Good food, shame spoilt by long wait.

I think we picked the unlucky night to go! Unfortunately there was a very large noisy family in the restaurant, they were so loud the waiter couldn't hear us ordering! Not the restaurants fault, but still, definitely was not relaxing. Food was okay, couldn't eat the chips with our meal as they weren't cooked, the lamb was gorgeous and melted in your mouth. I'm sure we just were unlucky as other reviews are great, but just being honest about our experience.

Never tried this restaurant before, but so pleased I did! Amazing curry and portion sizes. 1 rice between 2 people was more than enough. Chicken Bhuna was delicious and fresh tasting. The bill only came to £29 which we thought was extremely reasonable for the amount we had.Only reason I couldn’t give it a 5 overall was due to the rude man that greeted us upon entrance…he was extremely abrupt. We heard others complaining to other members of staff about him aswell, so maybe a little chat with him would help apart from that, lovely restaurant and will be back again!

The staff were lovely and accommodating, the food was also brilliant. If you are in the area, I absolutely recommend- a well deserved tip was given as for Indian cuisine in the UK they really went above and beyond for the price. Brilliant!

Booked a table here for our first night in Perranporth. Quick service, polite staff and yummy food! Probably the best curry we’ve had!

Sat in after a sunny Perranporth day, and within 20 minutes we’d already had 2 rounds of drinks brought to us, our starters of poppadoms and bhajis nearly finished (which were of really generous portion sizes) and our main meals were already being cooked. The two mains we had, the chilli chicken massala and the prawn bhuna, were incredible, with creamy sauce that went perfectly with the coconut rice, which again was top notch. If you’re in Perranporth and you like Indian Food, this place is a must-visit.

On top of the delicious food the restaurant had, their service was rapid, friendly and well mannered

Had a takeaway which we had to wait 35 mins for, fair enough. Took the meal back to the chalet to enjoy and first impressions wasn’t very good, had a king prawn puri which had no special bread with it which I normally get back home every time. Nan was about as big as a napkin and cold. Main curries were bland and watery, but the worst was the chicken which looked pink and inedible. Worst curry ever, most went in the bin!! Avoid

Nice curry but wife ended up throwing it all back up down the toilet through the night - chicken must have been off or something - emailed the restaurant & didn’t get a response - they obviously didn’t care.

We popped and they were fully booked so we grabbed a takeaway. Was ready in 35mins so we went for a quick drink while we waited. We ordered 2 curries, nann bread, mushroom rice and a sag panner. Everything was full of flavour and hot and reasonably priced. We would go again.We didn't enjoy the sag panner. We've had sag panner all over including in India and never had like this before. It has only a few pieces of panner and then a huge lump of melted cheese on the top which tasted like a cheeder? We tried to stir it in but it was too thick so lifted out the cheese that was on top and just ate the spinach and Paneer underneath.

We have been here before and came back because we know it’s good.Our food was really good but on this occasion service a little lacking. We received a warm welcome and attentiveness regarding settling in, ordering drinks etc. What was disappointing was that we ordered white wine and the bottle came to the table with no ice bucket. When we asked for one it came quickly but this is a basic of restaurant service and should have come with the bottle.We asked for the bill and the card machine but 10 minutes later had to ask again. If a customer asks for the bill with the card machine it is a clue they are ready to leave.We loved our food, so this is certainly a place to visit, but on our particular night service was rather haphazard.

We cannot deny that the food was very tasty and enjoyable. We were very disappointed and confused over the conflicting information on the website and their printed menus. We went online to choose our food. At the top of the the drop down menu it stated that a 10% discount would be applied to all orders over £20 if they were collected. We chose the the delux menu for 4 persons priced at £51.95. We were expecting to pay £46.75. When we went to collect the food we were told it was £58.00 stating that the price of that particular manu was £64.95 and said the discount was off that price. Also we did get the prawn curry as stated in the menu. Suggest that their website is inline with the actual restaurant

Top rate food Best I've had in a long time. Staff that couldn't do enough to help. Taxi service bad, they went over and above to make sure we got home.

Came for dinner shortly after arriving in Perranporth after a long drive down. Left absolutely stuffed and very satisfied. Very tasty food all round but the star dish was the Shohi Paneer. Would happily come back!

I came here for a family meal 03/06/21 and I have to say the food was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly and polite I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Perrenporth on holiday I will definitely be returning when I holiday here again.

We had a lovely evening at this restaurant, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, we were able to try new dishes. The only thing that slightly concerned us is that when we asked to scan in we were told that they didn’t have a track and trace system, although we were spaced out the restaurant was quite busy with people chatting and laughing mask free and it was very enclosed with no ventilation.

Went for a meal with our friends for their honeymoon and the service from beginning to end was second to none. Husain and his colleagues were fantastic and at the end of the meal he brought over 2 baileys and brandys for us and we really appreciated it!! The food was amazing as usual and we will eat here again! Thank you for making our night!!

Decent ruby and friendly staff. We arrived in perranporth at about 5pm after a long drive from London, we were looking for something substantial. Knowing this place was ranked No.1 on trip advisor we thought we will give it a try. We were not disappointed, the food was fantastic. The portions were decent and tasted lovely. I read on here that it was expensive, compared to what we pay in London this was no where near expensive. As I was away on a break I thought I’ll treat myself to a few extra cobras and the final bill still come in a lot cheaper compared to what we normally pay and the food was just as good. Very impressed with this place and staff were incredibly friendly.

We called in on the off chance as the fish & chip shop down the road was closed, but so glad we did. It was one of the best Indian meals i have had. The staff were very friendly and the resturant was very clean and well presented. The food was very tasteful and was good value for money. This was on the Tuesday night and it was so good, we went back on the Friday ("2st May)

Massala were able to accommodate us last minute as a group of 6 on a Saturday night, really great customer service! The food was fantastic, best king prawn bhuna I think I’ve ever eaten! Would definitely recommend!

Quite gutted to write a poor review, as we used to love this restaurant. The last time I reviewed I gave 3/5 and my most recent experience was worse. We ordered a takeaway for the first time due to covid restrictions, my first observation was how expensive it ended up being (especially for collection). The food was nowhere near as tasty as it usually is, we ordered our usual and in two of the dishes the chicken was chewy. The chicken chaat and badami chicken were bland when they’re both normally packed full of flavour. Such a shame.The poppadoms were all broken into little pieces, not the end of the world but clearly not packaged properly. I really hope this is a blip, maybe a new supplier? We used to look forward to coming here every time we visited Perranporth but now we’re unlikely to return.

We have just moved to Perranporth and have been spoilt in our last home town with a number of quality Indian Restaurants. We had to try our new local options so we ordered a delivery of Chicken Jalfrezi, Lamb Passanda, Mushroom Rice, Garlic Naan and a couple of Poppadoms. It wasn't cheap, but there isn't an awful lot of choice for deliveries in a small town.The delivery arrived when expected and we hoped for a decent meal. Surprisingly, the food was packed in Chinese takeaway style plastic containers. The poppadoms were lovely and crisp and fresh and we got an extra one for free but we were disappointed that like so many other restaurants we've used in the past, we didn't even get any free onion salad.However, the meal went downhill after that. The mushroom rice seemed to be just standard Pilau with a few mushrooms chucked in with it, the Jalfrezi was very bland in a thick sauce that was far too heavy with Garam Masala and the Passanda had a dollop of something creamy on top of it but was also bland and uninspiring. The Naan was fine but not particularly garlicky.Unfortunately, after trying the local curry houses, we may now have to start cooking our own Indian food instead.

Expensive and average food, the portions are small and the quality is quite honestly low. It is well situated to take peoples money as it is in a convenient position.

We love an Indian & have tried pretty much all of them in our local area. Massala is without doubt THE BEST! Most authentic & flavoursome. Try the Boal Biran on the starters is incredible!!

We have a static caravan home near Perranporth and visit most months of the year. Our first evening routine is always to get a takeaway from Massala. We have never yet been disappointed. Tonight a Green Massala Chicken and a Special Bryant - both really tasty and excellent value. I'm surprised by the comments about poor service because we have never experienced anything but efficient and courteous service. A "must" for every visit!

While holidaying in the area we decided to try this curry house, we called in advance and booked a table When we arrived we where welcomed and shown to our waiting table, the restaurant isn’t big inside at all but the tables were all far enough apart to distance every body Service was ok a little slow both with the drinks order and the food but this was October half term and the place was full The staff were friendly and helpful The food was amazing one of the best curries I’ve had in a long time highly recommended

I was so impressed with the quality of the food, I returned and tried different dishes which were equally as good. Reasonably priced as well.

We spend a lot of time in beautiful Perranporth and always visit this place during our stay. Each time we visit, our experience seems to be less and less enjoyable. The food is exceptional, which is what keeps us coming back. I highly recommend Chicken Chaat to start, the flavours are incredible. The Badami Chicken main is also delicious. Frankly, we’ve never tried something that we didn’t like. For us, the service is what lets it down. When we first visited, we found it to be a welcoming place with a nice atmosphere and friendly service, but more recently it has lacked this. We visited just before lockdown and then most recently last week, and on both occasions we felt the same, so I can’t blame Covid-19. The service is inattentive, with empty glasses going unnoticed. We felt rushed and almost like a nuisance to the waiter (chap with long hair tied back). When we return in 6 weeks I think we may be giving the place a miss for the first time L

Nice massala mix but chicken passanda was tasteless and had tough lamb instead of chicken in it. Poppadoms really greasy. Really disappointed.

We only had take-away from here, although there was a restaurant. The food was excellent. The biriyani was superb, especially the curry that came with it, which is often disappointing elsewhere. My partner had a rich, delicious rogan josh and I was hard pushed to decide which I loved more. Even the bindhi baji we ordered wqs great, with no unwelcome additives. Wish they were closer to home because we'd certainly use them often. Highly recommended.

This is probably my favourite restaurant in Perranporth and I've never been disappointed with their food or their service. Full Covid precautions were in place and you can book a table online. Great service and a wide range of dishes to choose from. Really good place for a curry.

We always have to get a takeaway from Massala when staying in Perranporth and it’s never disappointed! Particularly enjoyed our most recent takeaway this weekend and the customer service was perfect. We collected our order and were missing the poppadoms so we phoned and someone delivered them just minutes later and was very apologetic. Thank you! Already looking forward to the next holiday just for a delicious curry!

Asked the waiter for a dish without chunks of onions, he threw his arms in the air and told me I couldn't have anything on the menu! Never, ever have I had this rude attitude! I appreciate that most Indian dishes contain onion but every other restaurant has made suggestions, he did come back after speaking to the chef with a suggestion, such a shame he made me feel very embarrassed in the meantime as the food was delicious. Customer service training needed! Would not return.

We stayed in the area for a week and after our first visit here on the first evening we decided it was that good we would visit for a second time.The food was very good to the point when there was nothing left on our plates at all. But the best thing the service! The staff working here were not only friendly but made you feel like their friends.Just like the rest of the world this restaurant has had to take out tables due to the current situation making it look slightly bare however, the atmosphere is still there and does not detract from the dining experience.Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Read the reviews and thought worth a try. We have dined at many Asian restaurants and this one was certainly no where near one of ghe best, not the worst but mediocre. The decor is very basic and tired, a bit grubby. The food was served hot but the quality was not great. Given the pricing it was well below par. Would we go again, absolutely not.

I have been visiting 'Massala' for many years now & I have never had a bad meal, the service is always great. If its busy you may have to wait a bit longer, but if your like me, you don't mind waiting for good food.

its been our second time going to Massala and the food and staff and atmosphere is excellent.Love there food, even my 14 yr old daughter went with her friend for the first time,never been in a curry house and ordered 6 popadums but it was an experience for her and she said staff were friendly.Hopefully we will be back next year.Even tho we are in strange circumstances with covid they were very good with being safe and having procedures in place.Thanks see you soon.

This resturant was fantastic service. Very knowledgeable staff and happy to give options and pass on info 're vegan choices of which there were plenty. They were happy to make new things and suggest and I have the mist amazing vegatarian meal. We went as a family of 9 3 vegetarians , 1 vegan and the rest meat eaters and all agreed it was one of the best meals we had ever had.. Thanks guys

My chicken tikka jalfazi takeaway was probably the worst I have ever had. So bad that I shouldn’t have eaten it even though I was starving hungry I carried on. I should have followed my sons advice not to as he through his away due to an inch deep pool of what like greasy water. Second day since consuming and I am still unwell with stomach problems...

Excellent food, only let down by fact it’s in plastic containers, by time I collected and drove 7 minutes to campsite, it was only warm.. I would have microwaved it had I been at home. However, that aside it was lush.

On holiday so we could only go by reviews. Absolutely fantastic food and service. Felt totally covid confident. If you're like us and can never decide where to go just book here. You won't be disappointed. Absolutely excellent!!

Came here last week with my family, have been a few times over the years - the food was actually pretty decent and service on the whole was good - staff were friendly other than the manager who was just a bit of a dick. Don’t try and push chips and chicken to kids as a meal in an Indian restaurant - if we wanted that we would’ve gone to a pub. Also, don’t complain to me that I asked to add the tip on my card and that him and his staff wouldn’t receive any of it until the end of the month. I didn’t have any cash on me so either accept the tip or don’t! Will be back next year and hopefully he’ll have chilled out.

We had two lovely meals here with fantastic service. Very accommodating with children food was lovely and great customer service.

Good curry, good service and no complaints from us. The curry was very tasty and good value. The restaurant offer a good range of beers, wines and soft drinks so ticks all round. Will be visiting again if we travel down to Perranporth.

As a diner who is regularly disappointed at the quality of Indian Restaurants i was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and zing in my King Prawn Marsala. One of the better ones. We were a group of 10 people and all raved about their individual dishes. Well done for putting out great food under difficult circumstances.Recommended.

After being shown to our table we were not offered drinks. After 15 minutes waiting I had to go up and ask if we could order drinks. Another 15 minutes passed and I had to ask if we could order food! The man running the front of house paid very little attention to the diners and appeared to be clueless about running a restaurant. Excuses that they were busy was a joke as half of the tables were empty! Providing such a terribly slow service makes it quicker for locals to drive to Newquay and back for an Indian meal.

Thank you, we reserved a table for five and had a lovely dinner. Three of us had the Massala Mix for starter and it was lovely; the meat was very tender and the onion bhaji was so one of the best. The curries following and the naan breads were delicious, but beware, if you go for a hot curry, such as the tasty chicken Madras, it really is hot - but delicious! Very good value, under £85 for starters, mains and plenty of drinks (my son really enjoyed the orange juice and had three of them)!We will come again next time we are in Cornwall.

Wow " absolutely fabulous. You can all way tell a good restaurant they are all ways busy " front of house staff were really attentive and friendly Made all feel welcome and comfortable " so nice to have that sort of service. Food was absolutely amazing " really tasty and delicious service straight from the kitchen to the table . Warmed up plates ready for our delicious Indian currys beautiful various rice dishes. Although it was very quiet when we first arrived, we soon discovered that Masala justified the positive reviews on which we’d based our visit. The service was friendly, the food delicious and we will certainly return when we are next visiting Perranporth!

We’ve only recently moved to Perranporth from Yorkshire and massively love curry! Before we moved we used to struggle to find a place that had great food and customer service as always there would be one or the other lacking at every place. We came here last night for the first time, really really in need of a relaxing night off!Single handedly the best food I’ve ever had! I absolutely love mango chutney and there was loads of it! Clearly good quality as the nasty sugar after taste the you get in cheap ones wasn’t there. Normally garlic nanns end up a bit crap, rarely have I had a good one! Jesus this was put on the table and I could smell the sweet garlic straight away, beautifully cooked! Food was absolutely bloody amazing!Customer service was flawless too! Only tiny complaint I have had is that whilst I’m happy to pay a corkage fee to bring my wine, it’s not advertised! Your marketing in general is pretty poor for such a FANTASTIC place! I am going to check my diary for every time I have a weekend night off from shift work and get us booked in! Oh my word guys this place is insanely good!!

Wasn't to sure what Indian to go to as IV recently moved and always went to an Indian in Penzance. But a friend from work recommend this place. Me and my partner went on Saturday evening and we were glad we choose this place. Will definitely be coming here from now on. Food was really yummy. Very much enjoyed our Chicken Tikka Masala.

Came on a sunday for the buffet. Food was lovely and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Will be going back again.

Every time we are in Cornwall we visit this place. Never had a bad meal. We visited for a family meal on Sunday night for the buffet. Good food and plenty of choice. The staff topped up the dishes quickly if running low. Good value for money.

As a family we have been coming to Cornwall for years and the one thing we really enjoy is a good meal. This resturant provided not only great food but excellent service.

Tried this curry house while on holiday.went in at around 10.30 to order food.. We spent around 50 pound.. We got it home and tucked in.. Straight away we realised the chicken in the tikka was raw. We went back the next day to complain. Manager wanted to cook us the food again but we refused so he gave us 20 pound back as a GOOD WILL GESTURE!!. what a joke... Avoid

As a brummie and regular diner in the curry triangle I had high expectations of the food. Sadly I was disappointed. I ordered a chicken bhuna but was presented with what tasted like raw garam massala spice in water. No onion or tomato as you would expect. The chicken was off an odd texture and rubbery. So it was very poor. The starter was fine and poppadoms. The staff were also friendly and attentive. I guess I'm spoilt with the quality of my home town local curry house's.

We called in for the Sunday buffet, good food choices, and spotted I was vegetarian and cooked dish for me. Lovely tasty meal, all family enjoyed it! Would recommend
