Went here to celebrate my 30th birthday as it was recommended to me and I was able to get a private dining experience. However the food and drinks here are very below standard. Ordinary cocktails they were unable to make, I had to send my cocktail back to be improved and a friend did not drink hers as it was so disgusting. No one was impressed by the food either. A friend had a salad and the lettuce tasted stale. It is a shame as I try to support black business and I feel this place has a great location. However a restaurant should have the basics right- food and drinks. The only good thing is that we took nice photos, and the waiter - although very slow and unable to take instructions (had to ask for simple things like water several times) - you could tell he was trying his best. Would not recommend due to the above. Attend at your own peril. Update: in terms of the spend- many items were taken off the bill as my friends refused to pay for food/drinks which was below standard. I can only hope that the restaurant will improve on its food/drink standard in the future. I also think a black owned business should be held accountable if their food/drink is bad. You cannot simply be supported just for being a black owned business

While the venue is a nice space, it is ridiculously expensive. Was charged £25 for 2 single shots and a can of coke. Also £12.50 for 4 grilled chicken wings. Not impressed. Would not return.

Me and my friends had an awful experience at this restaurant on the 2nd august 2024. The service was horrible; the server was unfriendly and lacked basic manners. They couldn't served any of the traditional dishes from the menu. When we asked why, their answer was that the chef is not around. Well, when you go to an African restaurant you expect to eat African food!!! Additionally, we waited more than an hour for our food to be served. Despite paying a £200 deposit when booking, it has been FIVE WEEKS, and I still haven't received my refund. I've sent 5 emails, no response and I called 3 times, each time being promised my refund, but I'm still waiting. I do not recommend this place at all. A waste of time and money!

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my husband's surprise 50th birthday party at this amazing restaurant, and it was an experience worth sharing. The staff were incredibly supportive and attentive, ensuring that every need of almost 100 guests, including children, was met with a smile. The person who left the review MASQ OR MASQUERADE I salute you !!!!!! I recently dined at Masq, and I was thoroughly disappointed. The food was bland and lacked any freshness. The fried rice tasted like plain rice with vegetables—nothing special at all. Had I known it would be so flavourless , I would have asked for stew as well. The small chops platter also tasted like frozen food you put in the oven. The service was also subpar. They ran out of receipt paper, so no one could keep track of payments, which was highly unprofessional. One of the supposed owners spent the entire time randomly walking around and taking videos of the event without asking for consent or checking in with customers about their dining experience. It was intrusive and made the whole experience uncomfortable. The staff seemed inexperienced and unsure of many things. They couldn’t even provide enough chairs for private dining or help with name tags. The so-called owner came across as arrogant and unprofessional. Just because a few celebrities have visited doesn’t mean the place can coast on that reputation. The only saving grace was the DJ and the guy who played the trumpet—they were fantastic. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make up for the overall poor experience. I won’t be coming back The demeanour of the company and management is even shown from responses from other bad reviews that have been left .

I recently attended a private event at Masq Restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience. Despite the venue constantly boasting about its supposed fame and celebrity guests, the service we received was far from what you'd expect from such claims. From the start, the staff appeared unprepared and unsure about basic details, one of the staff members mentioned she got called in last minute for the shift, everything was unorganised. It felt like they lacked the training or preparation to handle a private event of any size. Instead of focusing on providing excellent service, the team seemed more interested in dropping names and talking up the restaurant’s reputation. To talk of the food, they took so long to take our orders, and then even for our meals to come out it was also a very long wait. There were like 2/3 people taking orders for a booking of 40+ people (again this all shows lack of preparation on the restaurant). When the food came it was so bland and disgusting to which I had to beg one of the staff for my meal to be changed after tasting it and being dissatisfied. They ended up changing to a safer option but the food was cold and still underwhelming. To make matters worse, the ‘manager’ kept making uncalled-for appearances, roaming around our event in a way that made myself and other guests uncomfortable. His presence felt more like a forced effort to make himself known rather than offering any genuine support. Overall, the lack of professionalism and focus on customer service really detracted from what should have been an enjoyable event. I expected far more from a restaurant that prides itself on its reputation. I wouldn’t be returning, and I will never recommend this place to anyone I know.

The events managers communication was poor and to be honest all dialogue was completely painful which was worrying in the lead up to the event. On the day of the event, attendees were not served food for 2hrs. Drink orders that were placed on arrival also took hours to come. The food was below mediocre. And to add salt to injury, they tried to deny the deposit when the minimum spend was met. They tried to take the deposit, however after speaking to several channels on the night and threatening to gather screenshots of every single guests final statement that attended, they reluctantly agreed to refund the deposit after recognising how outrageous it was to even deny it in the first place - however this change of heart only came after we mentioned we could prove the minimum spend was met. We were advise the deposit would be refunded within the week, however we had to relentlessly chase for 2 months before seeing the money again. Would highly not recommend unless you want to be taken for a wild ride.

I hosted an event at the MASQ in May and it was a very successful event. The staff were very helpful and always ready to help or change arrangements to accommodate us. The food was excellent and caters for diverse tastes. All attendees were very happy with the central location, and the cool, calm ambience of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning to host more events. Thank you MASQ London!

It was our first time in Masq last night and I must say it exceeded expectations. I don't normally give reviews but I must give credit where credit is due - ANNA our hostess was the best! If you are visiting this place for dinner and ANNA is your hostess then you'll leave VERY HAPPY! OK let's rewind 2 weeks ago when my cousin said she'll be visiting London from Ireland and another cousin said she'll also join from Lagos, Nigeria. My sister and I were tasked with finding somewhere in London for us to meet (7 people) where there is good vibes, good food and good music. Having recently experienced poor service a resturant, I was quite anxious about finding a resturant that would live up to the expectations of my cousins from overseas and my siblings that hardly go out!!! I had previously heard about Masq and had my eye on the London resturant for a while. I sent it to my sister as an option and we decided to go with this.BIG MOVE as we had both never been so didn't know what to expect but the Instagram page looked good. On route to the resturant my sister dropped a bombshell informing me that she had reserved a table for 7 on OpenTable but that she had been contacting the resturant on the phone to confirm the booking and no answer. At this point my cousind were 20mins away and we were 10mins away from the resturant. Upon arrival, we noticed it wasn't very busy but there was a large birthday group who all had cocktails and seemed to be having fun. We were approached by a lady (ANNA) and explained the situation. We told her we didn't want our cousins to arrive and be left without a table. ANNA showed us to a private room which was impressive and her service was EXCEPTIONAL! We wanted music, ANNA made it happen! We wanted cocktails, bottles of wine, jug of water, menus for more food all at different times and ANNA happily did this! I told ANNA I was hungry and didn't want a long wait for food and ANNA got my good out fast! We wanted photos, videos... ANNA did it! ANNA then surprised us with a saxophonist who gave us a private rendition. ANNA I AM STULL BUZZING and OVERWHELMED by you EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! Thank you. I must have called your name a million times last night... ANNA WE WANT THIS, ANNA WE WANT THAT! You delivered happily and promptly. You made our evening so special! I WILL BE BACK!

I visited MASQ for the first time last week as I had made a private hire booking for a networking engagement. I had a fantastic time and will definitely be back. The service at the restaurant was exceptional, we were looked after attentively by the host Emelyne and her team who were all excellent. Friendly, helpful and truly a joy to work with. The assistance from the bar staff was great and the drinks served were complimented by many. We opted for a limited menu of started foods, including jollof, spring rolls, chicken, and puff puff. We truly enjoyed the food and our only regret was not opting for more of the menu options with our order - we’ll be back for those!

I tried to book a table but their website hasn't been updated to show they're not on the usual booking platforms like OpenTable any longer for some reason. I then used their online form and received a confirmation of the form with a note that they'd come back to confirm. 24 hours later and there's no response. I rang today - twice - and each time the telephone call was ended before being answered.

I recently visited Masq and it was an incredible experience, very friendly environment and staff, located in a beautiful area by tower bridge. The food was lovely, I had the salmon and my partner had the steak and both were so worth it! Cocktails were also incredible!

Loved my time here. Food, music and vibes! The small chops were nice. The cocktails are silent killers, sweet and strong lol. Shout out to the server John, he really accommodated us well!

This Restaurant is a perfect spot to experience Scam Free of Charge after you pay thousands of pounds for service.Lousy excuses of employees not showing up and delayed service, and unapologetic attitude by management/owner. Classic Nigerian attitude. Better spend your money elsewhere.

Masq is beautiful from the decor to ambience, The food came out on time And it tasted very nice. I came to Masq for a night out, And i had a fantastic night. This venue is so beautiful and I hope they keep it up that way. Although we had to leave at 12 it was well worth the night. Masq should extend the closing time. I will come back again and I surely recommend.

Went for a dinner with friends. Service was really mediocre. Waiter carried our drinks incorrectly, causing them to spill on my jacket and my arm. All our orders came very inconsistently so some people had finished their food whilst others hadn't even received their order. Another friend found a hair in their food to which the server tried to argue that it's not the colour hair of the chef, but it wasn't their hair colour either lol. Another thing which was bizarre was they would go round taking our payments before we even received our food, which gave the impression that they didn't want us there. When asked to take service charge off the bill (rightly so) the waiter argued that "you have to pay it since you're here sitting down in our restaurant" and that it's compulsory ( it isn't!) And he couldn't remove it. Finally they had another party arriving after us and told us to leave, even going as far as removing our jackets from the back of our chairs and aggressively "throwing" them on other chairs so that they could clean where we were, to which we told them there was no need to touch our belongings in that manner. Overall it was a really unfriendly and mediocre restaurant especially in regards to the service, which makes up a huge part of the restaurant experience! Considering the price of the menu and the portions you get, I wouldn't recommend visiting here

It's not worth your money! We went to celebrate a birthday party. We waited 3 hours to eat and drink and 1 hour for the bill. We left with the birthday cake and very disappointed! They said they were under staff when we complained, and apparently, the manager was a gost! We waited several hours and had no sign of a manager ! It was a complete disaster! Please, avoid this place!!!

I went to celebrate a birthday. It was 20 of us and 1 waiter to serve us, and he was also the bartender and was also helping other tables. Conclusion over 2 hours waiting for drinks, and food,and at the end 1 hour waiting for someone to clean the table and send the bill despite many requests. They sent my rice and 45 minutes later the rest of my meal. I was shocked! Had no words 😢 We ended up leaving with the birthday cake and my friends birthday dinner was a disappointment! We asked for the manager and the staff had no clue who the manager was or they had orders not to mention! The waiter apologised many times but it was not his fault. He actually tried his best and was under a lot of pressure! The food is nothing special and there's no organisation in this place or skilled staff to serve at the tables. I asked for a cocktail from the menu and I had a mocktail instead as they forgot the alcohol, I asked for it several times but I was asked to wait and nothing! Many of our friend had nothing to eat as tbey decided to cancel the order after waiting over 3 hours for food! Not worth your money!

Masq? Or Masquerade? Do not be deceived by their instagram or even the care and service you receive during booking because that is how they got me. The person who dealt with my booking went above and beyond to accomodate my needs and made so many promises, which obviously were not met. My recent visit to Masq Bar Restaurant for my birthday dinner was an absolute disaster, to put it mildly. It's disheartening to have such high hopes dashed by an appalling level of service and management. From the outset, the signs were ominous. We endured an agonizing wait of 1 hour and 30 minutes just to receive our drinks. This lengthy delay set the tone for the evening, as the rest of the service unfolded in a similarly chaotic manner. Food orders were delivered haphazardly, with starters arriving before some diners had even received their mains. To add insult to injury, the food itself was served cold, further highlighting the restaurant's lack of attention to detail. The ambiance, which one would expect to be refined in a supposedly high-end establishment, was marred by the use of plastic cups for serving drinks. Most cocktails coming with no alcohol, some drinks being forgotten altogether. This cheapening of the experience was a disappointing surprise and a stark contrast to the image Masq Bar portrays. However, the most egregious aspect of the evening was the complete absence of accountability from the staff and management. Despite our grievances, no one was willing to identify themselves as the manager. One individual even went so far as to deny any managerial role, despite evidence to the contrary on social media platforms. This lack of transparency speaks volumes about the restaurant's organizational culture and commitment to customer satisfaction. Our waiter, while clearly overwhelmed by the demands of a severely understaffed restaurant, deserves commendation for his efforts. Unfortunately, his valiant attempts to salvage the evening were thwarted by systemic issues stemming from poor management decisions. Expecting one waiter to cater to a party of 20, including making drinks, running food, and attending to other tables, is simply unreasonable and reflects a fundamental failure in staffing and resource allocation. Masq Bar's insistence on a minimum spend of £1000 only adds insult to injury. How can patrons be expected to meet such a requirement when basic service standards are so egregiously neglected? It's a clear case of prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction, and it's a tactic that ultimately backfired spectacularly. Despite assurances from a staff member named Lovely, who promised to reimburse my £150 deposit, I have yet to receive any response regarding this matter. It's disheartening to be met with such blatant disregard for customers after ruining their birthday dinner. To add to the litany of failures, the restaurant failed to clear our table even after we had finished dining, despite repeated requests. This oversight meant that I didn't even have the opportunity to cut my birthday cake, which I had paid £180 for—a bitter conclusion to an already disastrous evening. In summary, my experience at Masq Bar Restaurant was nothing short of traumatic. From interminable wait times to cold food and abysmal customer service, every aspect of the evening fell short of even the most basic expectations. I implore potential diners to heed my warning and steer clear of this establishment at all costs. My biggest regret is choosing them for such an important evening when I had such better options lined up and fell for their deceitful lies and promises, don't be like me steer clear! There are plenty of other dining options in the area that are sure to provide a far more enjoyable experience.

Really terrible service, left an expensive item there Thursday night at like 9pm and made serval attempts to contact them that night and the Friday and was told to call back, they’d get back to me etc. I then show up Saturday and I’m told the item has been thrown away and that I should search their bins for it. Unfortunately for them lost property legally has to be held for a period of time and I will be pursuing legal action. Their team were very useless and I’m sure other similar white establishments would not have done what they did. This is why people avoid black service as they treat their own so poorly. What respectable restaurant doesn’t have a lost and found that doesn’t hold items for at least 72hrs. One of the workers even had the nerve to ask me where they should keep lost and found as if that is my concern as a customer. A side note is that their food was fine but the price is not justified for the portions. Just altogether embarrassing.

Mother’s Day 2024. I want to really really commend the staff. They are very very lovely. I came based on review from TikTok, sadly I didn’t book ahead 🙈but they were so accommodating and the food was GREAT. The drinks (we had mocktails) it was sweet and cheerful. The vibes and decor really welcoming. Very very big thank you to the host who sadly I didn’t get her name but she rescued my Mother’s Day surprise for my mum and aunty. Will be coming back soon!

I had a very good time at masq london restaurant when I visited London. I went to masq London for my birthday 28th October and they were great. Tony, the booking manager should get an award for his professionalism, care to detail and dedication to making one’s event an amazing one. He made sure that all masq London’s promises were kept for my event. Very beautiful place. The food was amazing a very tasty. Drinks were top tier. I was also given a personal waitress for my private room party. I was a very happy girl after my event 💕

Visiting MASQ was a fantastic experience! Very good bar service, especially from Emelyne, she’s a fantastic bar lady and she runs the show. The work she does is that of 4 people. Honestly, she is the heart of the bar and the cocktails were 5*, I couldn’t get away from the bar. 10/10!

Ci siamo stati un venerdì sera, verso le 19. Il locale era vuoto e sembrava ancora in allestimento, stavano ancora sistemando degli arredi. I ragazzi al banco si sono dimostrati subito gentili e disponibili, anche se con qualche difficoltà dovuta alla lingua siamo riusciti a ordinare e chiacchierare con loro. Abbiamo mangiato molto bene, una cucina fusion tra l’italiano e il francese con speziature orientali. Buona la lista dei vini. Al piano inferiore un piano bar e una piccola discoteca. Il conto della cena con due bottiglie di vino, molto più basso di altri locali a Londra. Bel posto, si mangia bene e si paga il giusto.
