Tienen de todo, desde clásicos hasta aventureros, y el ron Dead Man’s Fingers es una delicia absoluta. Es más suave que un kilt de seda y lleva un punzón que te calentará de pies a cabeza. Si eres amante del ron, ¡te sentirás como un niño en una tienda de dulces! Pero lo que realmente hace especial al Mash Tun es el equipo del bar. ¡Son más amigables que un cachorro labrador! Food is terrible and overpriced, and the service is poor. Recommend any other pub on Easter road above this one. Shame because it was one of our favourite places to go before the recent changes.

Hadn’t been for a while but met up with a friend for a drink and decided to get food too. Everything we ordered was excellent. The menu is just what you want from a pub. Staff are friendly and attentive as well.

Petit pub "de quartier" qui ne paye pas forcément de mine à première vue mais qui se révèle plutôt sympa. J'ai pris un burger à l'vocat qui était très bon. Les prix sont relativement bas pour Edimbourg. Quelques jeux de société sont à disposition si vous voulez passer le temps. Une très bonne adresse !

He estado en The Mash Tun antes y me encantó ver la cantidad de opciones para veganos y vegetarianos, así que ayer, cuando estábamos buscando opciones de almuerzo, lo primero que pensamos fue en The Mash Tun. Llegamos y fuimos ignorados por una buena cantidad de tiempo. En ese momento pensé que era temprano y probablemente se hayan abierto y no hayan pensado demasiado en ello. Pedí nachos y chili "vegetariano" después de un bocado, rápidamente me di cuenta de que se trataba de chile de ternera. Como no había comido carne durante casi 10 años, quería volver a comprobar que no era solo una buena alternativa sin carne. Fui al bar para verificar que el chili vegetariano que pedimos era en realidad vegetariano. La respuesta que recibí me disgustó. No solo el miembro del personal me acusó de inmediato de no haber pedido correctamente, sino que también le expliqué con calma que no podía comer carne; esto fue recibido con un encogimiento de hombros y una autorización. Para obtener una respuesta tan grosera y completamente irreflexiva de un restaurante que ofrece estas buenas opciones vegetarianas, realmente me molesta. La gran mayoría de los restaurantes tienen personal que informará sobre alergias cuando ordene alimentos en particular. La falta de comprensión por parte del miembro del personal fue francamente repugnante. Tengo que decir que esto nunca me ha pasado en todos los años que he sido vegetariano. Nos encontramos con este héroe de los cruceros de batalla mientras toma bebidas antes de la Escocia gales vs juego. Qué delicia tener 4 desayunos enorme relajado delante de nosotros y todos nos comentábamos cómo la judías eran así que viajábamos a medio camino al otro lado de la ciudad para el 2 esta vez sólo los frijoles deliciosos y tostadas riquísimo.Estaremos año tras año. Piensa que estoy bromeando les daría una turbina!

Busy on a Friday night but managed to find a table. The atmosphere was good and enjoyed the food. The wine and larger could have been better.

Wir haben ganz innere Nähe der Eastern Road gewohnt und sind aus Zufall an dem Pub vorbei gekommen.Er hat uns gleich angesprochen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.Wir haben verschiedene Biersorten probiert -der Pub hat wirklich sehr viele im Angebot- die alle sehr lecker waren.Zum Essen hatten wir uns Fish&Chips sowie Steak mit Chips bestellt.Beide Speisen waren sehr lecker!Der Nachtisch war ebenfalls super lecker.Fazit: sehr zu empfehlen und wir werden Stammgäste solange wir in Edinburgh sind!

La primera impresión no fue muy buena.Personal llegó como llegamos y nos preguntó si estábamos en la comida, cuando nos dijeron que teníamos un cupón itison ella simplemente dijo: "oh bien que voy a dejar de todos modos luego fuimos y menús se sentó.Tuve que ir al bar para pedir, nos preguntó si queríamos vino o cerveza, elegimos el vino pero cuando he recurrido a volver al bar, 2 vasos de tinto, dieron no ofrecía una opción, aunque mirando en mi correo electrónico que deberían haber sido ofrecieron una variedad de rojo, blanco o rosa.La comida era bastante agradable, pero no volveré.

He venido aquí muchas veces - sobre todo porque vivo cerca, pero también porque es un gran pub!Las bebidas son variados (tienen thistly que es genial sidra cross para mí! Y la comida es muy buena, grande y barato (ofertas especiales tales como 2 o 1 pizzas la mitad de semana). El pub tiene un gran ambiente, tanto para la hora del almuerzo y la cena como una comida de pub y un bar. Hace bastante calor en aquí! Hay también un concurso semanal - sólo asegúrate de reservar tu mesa online de antemano.El único aspecto negativo es el sistema de reserva - después de doble control en nuestra nueva años, que parece que estaban funcionando con dos libros diferentes, lo que significaba que no había reservado mesa. Este fue rápidamente solventó, pero vale la pena teniendo en cuenta los eventos más transitadas.Visitaremos aquí muchas veces más!

Un pub local con una gran cocina. El jueves es especial dos filetes y una botella de vino por £20. Escépticos sobre la calidad de la carne me quedé asombrado por la calidad. Realmente agradable pub. El personal es muy amable.Llegamos en nochevieja que quieren algo para comer antes de dirigirnos al concierto en los jardines. No había mesas libres, pero podríamos usar uno que estaba reservado a partir de las 9:00. Y aunque había un menú especial para Hogmanay, cuando pedimos que también podía pedir pescado y patatas fritas, hamburguesas o que en realidad no estaban en él. La comida era buena y más que suficiente. El pastel de carne con cerveza fue magnífica.

Este lugar tiene una selección bastante decente de cervezas y el camarero era capaz de hacer algunas recomendaciones. La comida era muy buena para el precio (muy razonable). Conseguimos emocionado por la 'pelea' en el menú pretzel con las hamburguesas. . . Tengo que decir que no era en absoluto como pretzel, pero disfrutamos de todo el mismo.

Mi novia y yo nos detuvimos para algunos alimentos después de oír cosas buenas de amigos. Tuvimos la suerte de parar en la noche de carne,2 filetes de ternera y una botella de red ruby merlot por sólo £20. 00!Disfrutamos de la comida y el ambiente tanto que estuvimos alrededor después por un par de copas. . Gran hallazgo. Yo tenía el pastel de carne, superó mis expectativas de comida de pub. Buena selección de ron, que es mi opción preferida de cervezas y artesanías. Sin duda lo recomiendo!

Estábamos trabajando localmente para aquí la última noche y nos pareció que estaba muy bien desde fuera, así que decidí probarlo y fue una de las mejores decisiones siempre.Las bases de pizza eran preciosas y finas con más de coberturas generoso pero no grasienta.El personal es encantador y amable, no puedo esperar a volver.

Estaba aquí para la cena y el pub concurso anoche y era extremadamente decepcionado con la experiencia. Comprensiblemente La Navidad es un tiempo ocupado, sin embargo, cuando nuestra reserva para 7 personas para la comida y concurso llevaron a una mesa normal 2 personas con una pila de bancos pensamos que debe haber una confusión, desafortunadamente no es así. well first off we had to wait forever for our food then when we got it the food was greasy and it was the wrong order.we then asked them politely if they could bring me the right food.They took it back and i heard one of the chefs shouting and swearing at someone. i mean i know its a kitchen but couldn't you have a better environment for the chefs. we then ordered some drinks but one of the waiters refused to get us them. we hadn't even had anything to drink.so i would very much like this to get fixed please

Fuimos esperando comida de pub. . No era lo que esperábamos! La comida en este lugar es de mejor calidad que usted esperaría incluso en un restaurante. Nos quedamos verdaderamente impresionados con el puré de Tun.

Realmente agradable pub, ambiente encantador y buen servicio. Tuve el desayuno escocés completo y el haggis era increíble. Mi amigo realmente disfruté de su desayuno vegetariano.

Este es un gran lugar para comida y bebidas. Informal y un buen lugar para reunirse con amigos. Mezcla de clientes habituales y a aquellos que han tropezado. Buena comida de pub y nunca estará demasiado parece que has alojado fuera su bienvenida.

I visited this pub on Easter Road on a Tuesday evening with friends to catch the 2 for 1 pizza meal deal, and the pub is ideally placed near Holyrood Park and close enough to Leith Walk to make it easy for most people to get to.We were swiftly seated mostly together, placed our orders and the food didn't disappoint. A friend of mine went for a (very) small bowl of nachos with guacamole and salsa (£5), which was extortionately overpriced. The pizzas came out two at a time so everyone was eating their food randomly while others waited ages for their Calzone dishes. The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared and this isn't a fast food joint, although we had hoped that the food would have been delivered in a more coherent fashion.I ordered a Matador pizza (£8.95 normal price), which comprised of chicken, red onion and chorizo on a mozzarella cheese and tomato base that was delicious and hit the spot. Others enjoyed their choice with no complaints apart from the waiting time for some of the dishes.Drinks prices are expensive and £4.10 for a pint of Guinness and £4.80 for a pint of lager is a bit steep by anyone's standards.My lasting impression was of a pub that doesn't quite know where to pitch itself. It's not a gastropub and I wouldn't say it would be a regular watering hole for me given the price of the drinks. It's neither one thing or another, but the food and service is very good.Overall, I would recommend it and I would visit again.

Cada vez que he visitado este pub la acogida siempre ha sido cálida con el personal atento y amable. Siempre tienen una buena selección de cervezas y sidras tanto en barril y en botella. En cuanto a la comida hay mucho para elegir en el menú de la pizza de los clásicos y el pub hamburguesas, no sólo se obtiene una excelente relación calidad-precio en términos de raciones, pero la calidad es siempre fantástico. Siempre tengo ganas de visitar el puré de Tun.

Así que nos preguntamos este lugar por ser puramente oportunidad. Fuimos y somos recibidos calurosamente y atendidos por el personal. Fue particularmente tranquila como era viernes almuerzo. La música y el ambiente estaba bien algunas melodías peculiares (pero nos encantó!).

En soi, on ne peut pas dire y avoir mal mangé. Mais, entre apporter un entrée et annoncer à ce moment là que la seconde n'arrivera jamais parce qu'il n'y en a plus et servir des frites peu cuites et gorgées d'huiles, on est bien content d'avoir mangé de bons burger dans une ambiance Scotish Pub. On y a passé un bon moment parce qu'on était la pour profiter d'un temps à deux, mais soyons clair, on n'y retournera jamais pour la cuisine...

The warm and friendly staff here were so accomodating. Good honest service and advice on Scottish beers and ales. Prices fine. Atmosphere good, you felt like a local and yet could chat easily.

Mi novia y yo fuimos allí para noches de filete en una noche de jueves. Qué gran oferta para dos personas. Bistec era perfectamente preparado y era un tamaño bastante decente. Leer el menú parece ser especiales diarios. Sin duda volveremos. Una gran relación calidad-precio, y un agradable ambiente informal al lugar para una cena entre semana y ponerse al día.

Have visited the mash tun several times since moving into Easter road. One that we thought had great potential to become our new go to local pub. First thoughts were good, nice pub with a good selection of drinks and food, although it was pretty much all downhill from there. Went in to watch some football during the euros and have some food. Our food order was messed up, my order was taken incorrectly so when the food arrived I waited for 15 minutes whilst my partner finished her food for my own to arrive. When it did arrive (pulled Pork on a bun) the bun was stale and the pulled pork was so hot it had obviously just been blasted in a microwave. We then returned on the same weekend for breakfast. My parter ordered the veggie breakfast, which on arrival the veggie sausages were still borderline frozen. We returned the sausages being told new ones would arrive in ten minutes, the staff however never bothered to tell the kitchen so we never received them. The final straw in us not returning was a small issue over a poor pint, which could of been easily fixed, but the attitude of the staff meant it was made into a big deal. I ordered a pint of st mungo lager, which the obviously new and poorly trained barmaid (through no fault of her own, I blame the manager) poured into a brewdog glass. I watched as the pint was poorly poured resulting in it frothing up and pouring all over the glass, which i instantly knew would result in a flat pint, and was also handed over not full. I asked for the pint to be replaced as it was flat, the barmaid consulted the manager who then proceeded to pour the st mungos lager into another brewdog glass. He then approached me and handed me the same flat lager and ask me in a rude tone "what is wrong with it, it's fine" I took the lager knowing it was still flat, which it was. The staff then stood in there clique with friends drinking in the bar, and audibly spoke about me and made me out to be an idiot. I then approached the bar for a 2nd time and demanded it was replaced, to which the barman again spoke to me like an idiot and said "you do know it's meant to be that way". I then pointed out that it was a lager, and should be that way. This was the moment the barmaid finally admitted her mistake with the incorrect glass. The barman then poured me a new st mungos in the correct glass and brought it to the table, he then made an inaudible noise and left. No apology, which even that would of rectified the situation for me. Nice pub, poor management, rude and obnoxious staff. I advice going to the brass monkey just a 5 minutes walk away on leith walk.

Went with friends for the Wales - Belgium game. Was a good atmosphere and food was great quality pub food. Even though we were in a bit group service was great and everything came out at the same time.

We recently moved in nearby and were excited to discover a nice looking bar across the road. Our first visit was great, but each time the experience has deteriorated. The staff are dismissive and rude. We had to return a pint of lager because it was flat. Their response was to pour it into a different glass and return the same drink to us. When we explained it was completely flat they refused to believe us, not knowing that it was a lager because the bartender had poured the drink into the wrong glass. They eventually poured a new drink and grunted as they put it on the table. No apology or anything. We visited on a separate occasion for breakfast and my veggie sausages were stone cold. I returned them and the bartender told me I would have new ones in 5 minutes. After 10 minutes I asked where they were, to be told that they hadn't ordered any more for me! Fair to say we'll not be returning here. Disappointing as it's a nice bar but the staff totally let it down, they don't seem to care at all.

This is a great pub for food and drinks. They have a really good selection of different beers and other liquors. I had a Guinness that was poured perfectly.

We lived near this pub and walked in one evening for a meal. We ordered a fish and chip and a Mash Tun burger.Service was great and warm but the food was only passable. Husband and daughter didn't like the stinky goat's cheese in the burger, it was overly pungent, maybe it was just us not used to goat's cheese.

Good pub food. Burgers are great. Food is cheap as chips and they have lots of offers. Good range of beers. TVs to watch football and staff are nice.

Wee Rachel looked after really well I was late, and my gf already had a chat with Rachael/Rachel not sure of the spelling?I came in and was glad to see her she knew my gf straight away took me over had a chat was really nice.Met some people I know totally by surprise they said they go there all the time as "its a cracking wee place" it's other end of town for us but wish it wasn't, the pubs are either full of jakies or too expensive that allow dogs in our area fountain bridge area.Sadly it was the first time without our big Rottweiler as he is not well at the moment but the wee dog met some new friends and enemies (but they still liked him lol) as he is a crazy Chiwawa ( 5 years on still don't know proper spelling) Anyway the steak was cooked to perfection I tried the spicy jelly wee bit on the hot side for me but still enjoyed it and the chips and mushrooms were really tasty too.Thank you Rachel I hope you're well appreciated it's really nice you looking after us so well and chef for tasty steak!!!By the way it's 2 steaks and bottle of wine for £20 on Thursdays they must be hoping you're gona by a few drinks as the quality of food and the wine is great!!!Looking forward to next visit!!!

Situated in Easter Road the initial sound of this place might put off a reviewer, but it would be the biggest mistake they could make.They may have a lack of competition on Easter Road but it has not stopped them becoming one of the best bars in Edinburgh, not just Leith.The menu offers a variety, which is more than a pub-restaurant would usually offer, and it's daily specials add to the glorious dining experience.Sport is in abundance but you can rely on the staff to prioritise; if there a few in for football then appropriate music will be on to suit the tone of the bar. Saying this, if sport is on which would please the majority then the bar staff are happy to oblige: Tennis, Rugby, Badminton, Formula 1, Football and NFL are just a selection of the things I was told, from other customers, that are on offer at The Mash Tun. The beer selection is ever changing and different. Many places around Edinburgh offer "A selection of brewers" but only stock light, hoppy IPA's to try. The Mash Tun had dark beer, wheat beer, light beer, low calorie beer, local beer, imported beer, gluten free beer and alcohol free beer. This was supported by their chalkboard of "Current and Upcoming Drinks" which showcased what the next drinks contained. Not to mention the Carling, Corona, Peroni and Carling Cider which was also on offer.The advice I would give is to check the football schedule. As it is one of the closest pubs to Leith's Hibernian FC it is very VERY busy on game days so they fantastic atmosphere can often be overrun by the fans. I visited the pub 3 times over 10 days and the bar staff were interested, engaged, knowledgeable and delightful. All in all, 100% recommend if you are in Edinburgh and Hibs are not playing at home.

We were the only people apart from 1 other person and the service was so slow, waitress was nowhere to be seen for most of the time we were there. The macaroni cheese was some pasta in a watery tasteless liquid with some cheese melted on the top, I had to use so much salt and pepper and gave up in the end. The garlic bread was ok. The chips were nice. We had a tastecard so got 50% off but even that felt like too much for the poor quality and non existent service

What do you want me to say? It’s on Easter Road… Really worth a visit, but make sure to arm yourself first.

The food and service in The Mash Tun is excellent. Quiz night on a Wednesday so it can be very busy - you need to book an early table on that day. Can definately recommend the burgers and steak!

I have been to the Mash Tun a few times now to eat (usually burgers which are very good) but this was the first time that I tried the Steak and chips / bottle of wine deal - excellent value for money and very, very tasty. Nice atmosphere - not too busy with it being a Thursday - Would recommend.

A great pub! The guys who worked there were very nice. There was a foodballgame on and nice beer. Unfortunately they had a problem in the kitchen (i think the cook didn't turn up), so the poor guys (2) had to do all by them selfe. The first haggis (for us haggisvirgins) was awesome!! The reste would have been nice i guess but it was a bit burnt...they appologized an gave us each a beer for free, so we loved them again..

We walk by this place every day + finally made it in for food last night.Pizzas are 9pound each and are on 2 for 1 monday-wednesday if you also buy two drinks.Pizzas were great. Service was quick. Cosy surroundings.

Second visit to this pub and not disappointed. We dined as a family and everyone had a burger meal. All were very good. Our slight downfall is that we all had starters (which were also all very good) which made us all pretty full after the main course. The man that served us was very pleasant and I think it was his first day. Also good to know that dogs are welcome (for future use).

Lovely wee pub but had food on sunday there for the first time! Fish and chips was no bad. Only gripe is the pub is overpriced especially 5 pound a pint of brooklyn lager. Staff could smile a wee bit more but part from that its a good wee place to eat/drink.

Its a great place with nice interior and warm atmosphere in general. Their menu also interesting and food tasty with reasonable prices.

It's the second time iv been once with girlfriend (I didn't review that time) and once with my sister and both times with the dogs we all enjoyed it.They were a few dogs in and the customers without dogs were quite fond of they being there.The staff are friendly enough in general, but Ross was the one who made us feel the most welcome.We went with the groupon voucher but I couldn't open it so decided to pay for the steak night deal 2 steaks and bottle of wine for 2 people for £20 and i am looking forward to using the voucher soon.The cocktails are nice and reasonably priced.Only wee niggles were and only mentioning as it might happen to wrong customers that might make a drama out it, we both asked for med/rare and the steaks with received were definitely rare. Plus we both felt there could have be a wee bit more things on plate, also my sister who didn't want me to say at time as she'd be embarrassed, mentioned she thought it could of done with few more chips as well, I agreed.Just realised that trip advisor reviews don't really get votes for being helpful, unless you slate a place, the more brutal the review the more votes it will get shame really, as I have left some detailed reviews and maybe I'm just lucky but in general I have had mostly positive experiences and only really get votes for the few negative experiences I have had.Thanks Ross (Plus Rachael from our visit 2 year ago) and the other guys on shift forward looking forward to my next visit thanks for another fun night.

I came for a family lunch. The service was good and the food even better. The place is charming and comfortable. We will be back for sure.

It was early afternoon when we visited the Mashed Tun. The Mashed Tun was recommended to me for its food and relaxed atmosphere and large range of bottled real ales.The place was quite quiet when we arrived. We ordered a few real ales off the menu before ordering some food.The pizzas arrived burnt (both of them) and the steak pie was salty and the meat wasn't the best quality. The extra portion of chips that were ordered had only six chips in the bowl and a few burnt offerings at the bottom. We did mention this to one of the staff who did look embarrassed, but just laughed it off. I wont be returning.
