Excellent food was very surprised at cost. Very good value for money. So pleased came across this place. Staff very tentative could not do enough for you.

Havenot been here in a while but was surprised how much its changed the decor and overall atomsphere was loverly the waiters couldnot do enough and the food was 1st class 5 course for £8.95 could not be robbed in fact amble portions and table...

Took my colleagues out for dinner. Was in there a hour, only a pickle tray in sight beers were warm flys all over wouldn’t go back here again after what I’ve just experienced mumbias down the road is miles ahead GCE

The food in this restaurant is really very tasty. The service is good and the staff very friendly. My wife and I have eaten there a couple of times recently and have not been disappointed.

It takes quality food to impress me and I am very happy and no longer hungry. It has been nice to find out that I can eat fresh chillies too but I might not be happy about that tomorrow.

It's great to have masala lounge back to what it used to be. We've been going since day 1, there was s little blip but everything is good again now. Good food, good service, good prices what more could you ask for.

Warm welcome, quick , efficient , friendly staff who know the menu. More than ample portions in their special menu. Food was delicious , drinks well chilled , a really enjoyable evening in a very popular restaurant .

My wife took me here for a birthday treat, we had passed here lots of times and commented how nice it looked. The food was hot and tasted fresh. The service was excellent and the cost was reasonable, will definitely revisit.

Thought we would have a change from our usual curry house ordered a takeaway. It took 3 hours to arrive finally got it at 9.45 after being told several times it was on its way lies, too late by that time to really enjoy it. Can only comment on my dish which was quite tasty but not spicy at all and tepid in temperature I had to warm up in microwave. Will not be going there again back to our usual I think not a great way to win new custom.

I visited & had a take away from this wonderful restaurant , the food is outstanding plenty of it & very tasty, the staff are very helpful & even joined in with our conversation, I had family visting from Richmond & they gave her a complimentary drink.

Due to the weather conditions we ordered a meal to be delivered, the Masalla Lounge is only about half a mile from were we live, it took two hours to arrive, our diners were cold, the food had spilled out of the containers and it was so greasy it had fallen out of the bottom of the bag. After phoning to complain they gave us the meal free but it was inedible. We will not be ordering from Masalla Lounge again.

Visited with friends for a meal, swiftly seated and staff courteous and polite throughout our stay. I was astounded by the options available on the menu, one of the most extensive arrays I've ever seen. We opted for the 3 course special at £8.99, the poppadoms were lovely, the starters well presented and tasty, my main wasn't quite what I expected but I did order it, too dry, however the rest of the group had no issues, the peshwari naan is one of the nicest I've ever eaten, so tasty and full of coconut (not great on the old waistline). All in all a nice first visit, was a bit disappointed with the bill though as the small menus inside state the special is 8.99 but on the window states 9.99 not acceptable! Check what you're paying for when the bill arrives. It wouldn't put me off a return visit as it was good quality and plenty of it.

Been here loads of times since opening and always been perfect. 15 of us came in March for a 50th and had a major issue with the wine which was handled really badly by staff. Decided to try takeaway tonight n disappointed again. Food delicious but a special meal cost more than expected and no rice or chips. Had dips, starter, curry n naan.Rang to ask why and were told menus altered a month ago. No apology or even a sorry. Sad downturn for our once favourite Indian.

We regularly use this resaurant, whether its for take away or a night out and we have been going since it opened, the food is lovely (onion bhargi is my fave) the staff are pleasent and helpful and give you just what you want. I often go within a group of 8 to 10 and we never have any problems with the service.... keep it up Masala Lounge you are doing a good job

Ordered four course special and a king prawn masala ordered 7 pm no problem 20! Minutes mate. This to collect also. After many trips to coral I got my meal at 7.55 already paid half an hour earlier. Paid extra for king prawn on the main as well. Bloke comes out of the kitchen no opology about being late. Instead I was asked if I had paid. Got hom main meal was shrimp not king prawn king prawn Masala was consisted of very thick sauce with a few prawn pieces. The lady offered me the same for free when I was next passing. After eating it I vVe decided to decline her offer. Get it right in the first place

Have visited this restaurant a few times, went for my birthday and food amazing, had mixed kebab starter, jalfriez curry, veg pilau rice, chips Keenan nann, well stuffed when I left. Very generous potions couldn't finish it, wanted to lay down and have a knapp after meal. Best Indian meal in Hartlepool u must try won't be disappointed .

Me and my friend have always loved Indian food and had decided upon an Indian Takeaway night however we decided we would go out for an Indian instead of a takeaway and my friend suggested here as she had been here before. Went on the happy hour food was to die for!! Very generous portion sizes, and I left full! Couldn't squeeze in a dessert! Staff were very friendly and as we were the only people in the restaurant at the time we were looked after and met all of the staff members! Decor is lovely and the level of music is just right. Would recommend and can't wait to return!

The food was lovely and a great price however our drinks order was wrong on the first round my husband ordered disaronno and coke and was given what we think was Bacardi instead but they were Adamant it was disaronno. I ordered white wine and rose arrived. Even so the food was really good full of flavour. The staff were polite and nice although we did feel that they didn't try to build a rapport with the customers. We are only visiting the area so probably won't be paying another visit to masala lounge

Restaurant has good ambience and staff are friendly, there was a mix up about which days the early bird special was available as there was conflicting information on the menus and internet. Nevertheless the meal was very good and I will definitely go back there soon.

went there on a Friday and it was £8.95 for 5 courses. It was absolutely amazing. Great food, really friendly staff and great prices. The restaurant was immaculate and our server topped the evening by being really friendly, helpful and polite. Honestly couldn't ask for anything more from a restaurant.

This restaurant has a lovely, friendly atmosphere which you can feel as soon as you walk through the door. On arrival we were greeted by a charming local guy who we then found out was one of the owners. This multi-cultural connection was very refreshing and the staff are so polite; with so many restaurants around, it’s not often people go out of their way for you, but hats off to them; nothing was too much trouble. These guys know how to cook and are so hospitable, and for me, that’s what makes this particular restaurant so special... I have now visited Masala Lounge several times and each time my experience has been a happy and very enjoyable one. I have tried a different meal every time and I have enjoyed every one, however, my favorite is the chicken tikka chom chom which I would highly recommend! By far the best restaurant in town and if a review says otherwise I would doubt they have even been. SEE YOU SOON!! xxx

I think proberly the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Really friendly service , can be a little slow when busy but the chef refuses to be rushed which says a lot in itself.Well worth the wait. Will be there again soon !

Went in with a group of friends on Friday night, again perfection all round. Food was fantastic, restaurant was busy providing a great atmosphere but staff kept on top of the service making sure all customers were seen to.It's definitely become our favourite restaurant.

I have had many indian meals in my lifetime, but this has to be one of the best i have had :) The Food was amazing, It tasted freshly made and the portions were very generous. I would highly recommend this resteraunt to anyone who is wanting a Quality meal for amzing value for money.

Don't normally write reviews. but feel I have to on this occasion. my wife and I visited Masalla lounge during a stopover in the town. we have had countless Indian meals around the country, and the world, and can honestly say this was the best,out of India. the food was exceptional.the restaurant is spotlessly clean and modern. the service was excellent and very friendly.in fact we have just stopped over again purely to visit this restaurant again.not disappointed, 5star. already planning next trip.cannot wait.

Absolutely beautiful decor throughout. Fantastic food though does take few minutes longer to be served - not hours like other people have stated. Extremely well spoken and polite British/Asian staff.People should experience it for themselves and not take any notice of any negative reviews.

went here on new years eve after a recommendation from a friend.Food - amazing, tastes so good, good sized portions, naan bread was gorgeous.Atmosphere - great, love the decor, set out nicely Service - could not fault it!! food and drinks were served in good timing, hardly much waiting around even though it was a busy new years eve. Staff were very friendly, asked us if everything was ok, asked if we needed more drinks when they noticed we were almost empty.The price was very reasonable too, I would go here again and I have recommended this restaurant to all of my friends and family.

The menu here is very impressive and the food was excellent. However ... we were met with an appalled look when we arrived and asked if they could do a table for a group. We were eventually seated at tables that were already empty when we arrived. The service was dreadfully slow - we were in the restaurant for 3 hours, and not intentionally so! But a good meal if you're patient.

Made a visit for a change from my normal curry house, cinnamons in the marina. We arrived around 7.30, we had not booked a table but were seated straight away, we had to wait nearly 30 mins to get a menu and place our order. The food was tasty but not outstanding.... the service was painfully slow, we also had to wait for 45 minutes for our bill, eventually I made my way to the bar to chase it down and leave. I will not be going back and will stay with my trusty usual curry house.

The decor lends to lovely ambience, the place is spotlessley clean, and we couldn't fault the friendly service. An all round winner, I'll certainly be back. Keep up the good work.

The evening got off to a bad start when our booking was lost. We werent in any hurry so happy to sit in the lounge area. I'd at least expected to be offered a drink, and the menu to browse, but no, I had to ask for both, and it was at least 5 minutes before anyone took our drinks order. It was a Friday night special for £8.95 IIRC, I had the chicken tikka starter which was tasteless. My wifes onion bhajias were ok though. I had chicken jalfrezi, which again was tasteless, with coconut pillau, which seemed as if it was pillau rice with sugar mixed in. They also failed my pet hate test, of not bringing the breads until 5 mins after serving the meal. Nice decor, warm, which my wife appreciated. Beers were Cobra, and Worthingtons, which was off ! Would I go back, no, definitely not.

Me and my partner along with another couple gave this place a try on valentines day after hearing very good comments about the place. When we arrived the place was busy as expected and we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated (although we booked) and we had a feeling it was gonna be a bad night but from then on everything was perfect, the food is the best in the town by a country mile and the service and presentation was exceptional. I will be visiting this place again soon and to be honest I'm looking forward to it already. Keep up the good work guys

I have been meaning to write a review for the masalla lounge for a while now and I really want to express how fantastic this restaurant is! It is about time we had such a high quality Indian restaurant in our town! The staff are amazing and they cannot do enough for you, every time that my friends, family and I have been we have never been let down once! We love hot curries and each time we go the food just gets better! Wednesdays and Fridays are a bargain, 5 course meal for only £8.95 and Sundays are even better, it's like a menu tasting night for set cost where you can sample different dishes! Decent pint of cobra is always available which is always a treat! Give it a go, you won't be let down!!

We finally got round to trying out this newish Indian to the town.After being through many different names and guises this little restaurant has been refurbished to a very high standard. It is made very welcoming from the superb service you will receive but unfortunately the food is only standard Indian fare. Yes I know the dishes on offer are different and exotic and served nicely but it tastes like run of the mill Indian food. That doesnt mean it is bad, it just means that they advertise themselves as different flavours/food and it isnt. i dont really want to put a downer on the Masalla Lounge as we enjoyed our meal there and it is a really nice Indian Restaurant to eat at, but we where a little disappointed with the food served......but saying all that...would we go back...yes,it might be a case of try other flavours before really commenting.

As a regular customer of Masala Lounge I was very disappointed on the review I read about the couple who found it uncomfortable having a meal, commenting on a person with mental health issues.I was in that night in question and yes he was talking to people but this was not an issue as I knew the person had mental health issues and I thought his family dealt with it in a compassionate way.I felt the staff and owner also respected this family and the person in question and it is nice to see that Masala Lounge accomodates - diversity comes to mind - put yourself in the families shoes, they should be able to go to any restaurant and have a meal.This person did not spoil my night as he come over to me asked my name and said he might have a job in Masala Lounge, but I knew he was only joking because of his disability, but we went along with it.As always the food is of high standard and service was fantastic. People should ignore the Evening Ruined comment, because he did not once mention anything wrong with the food and he also stated that he was a regular customer.

Me and my family went here at the start of November for my brother's birthday. It was a Wednesday night and there was an offer on. 5 course meal for £9.00!! The food was absolutely delicious .. Best Indian I have had! Would 100% recommend and will 100% be going back

I had the best Indian meal of my life in here.Great décor, very friendly staff.The menu looked very extensive but having left my specs behind, I couldn't read it so I went for the Mixed Kebab and Masalla Lounge Special. Both were perfect.We ordered poppadoms, two starters, two mains, two rices, two nans and two pints of Cobra.The bill was £30 !!!!This place is a gem, give it a try.

I had the pleasure of using the Massala Lounge during a business evening and was astonished by the choice of meals on offer and the unusual twists the meals had. I had never heard of some of the meals on offer. The prices were very reasonable, especially the special menu they had on. The atmosphere is great, and the waiters a pleasure to deal with, but the best bit is the food and the generous portions. I will be re-visiting soon with my wife it was that good! P.S it is 28 miles from my house.

Always a bit dubious when I read few reviews and they are all good. Glad to say that being on holiday and having never been to hartlepool before I trusted the trip advisor reviews and went for it. Food excellent. Service also really friendly clean and modern if not a little gaudy for me but cannot fault the food.

The setting is relaxed yet proffesional, with contemporary decor and crockery. The quality and standard of food and service are excellent (with particular reference to Raj and Raqueeb). I have dined here a couple of times now and have been highly impressed on each occasion. Nothing is a trouble and everything is first class!

My wife and I visited tonight and I have to say everything was perfect from the food to the customer care,the food was amazing and portions were generous .. The decor is bright,modern and spacious,excellent value for money .. We would definitely recommend to anyone and we hope this is the first of many good nights. Thanks masala lounge !!

If you consider yourself an Indian connoisseur or a complete beginner - the Masalla Lounge is the place to be. Beautiful décor, amazing service and superb food. Some comments have mentioned that they have had a slight wait ... well perfection can take some time. Really lovely food, cooked to individual demands and all served with a smile. Perfect for couples or groups of friends and have even seen youngsters in there too. Now our firm favourite!!

My self and my partner went on 22/10/13 it was..the title haha. We went with the buffet menu all you can eat for £13.95, we had 2 starters each and a main with a rice to share also four dips/salsa and 4 poppadoms :o "this is sexy" is what my girlfriend said, I Agee. I've been a chef for 10 years working at Michelin star and 3 rosette hotels across the country and the Masala Lounge has something for everyone, hottest (oh yes I like it hot and there's that here) to the mildest all full with flavour and freshness. The staff are brilliant and friendly, easy to talk to just like an old friend, can't ask for more. My god I'm stuffed and so so happy....it's 2 hrs since I eat there and my mouth is still numb and I can't move so go, enjoy. You can't be any thing but excited with the choice,service and waiting staff.

This is the best Indian in Hartlepool. If you like something sweet try the Chicken Peneer its to die for... My husband always goes for the Mixed Kebab which he loves. The place itself is very modern inside compared to other indian restaurants. The owner and the staff always make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend this Indian above any other indian restaurant in Hartlepool, I would not go anywhere else. Try it once, you'll be back again!!

Great food, very large servings compared to down south. Staff very polite and accommodating, the restaurant was very busy, always a good sign, unfortunately had to wait an hour and a half before eating our main course and half an hour for drinks.

Having tried all he other Indian restaurant in town I can happily say this is my favourite - great food, excellent value, clean and well run. Some interesting variations on the curry theme, with different meats such as venison and rabbit and meals which don't bloat you as many Indians do.

Absolutely superb meal I had the balti the wife had the haraili they were both delicious. We will be using masalla lounge a lot more now.

A menu had been posted in my house so me and the misses decided to test it out. Food was great service was one of the best everything was done very quick.At first a thought service was going to be bad because youngsters where working but they where kind helpful and quick My wife doesnt like indians but she loved it so we would like to thank the chefs and the young guys waitering keep it up and use will see us more often

We have visited this restaurant several times everytime the food is delicious the service is second to none. Cheeky Ray was our waiter and he is so lovely nothing is a problem. I would say the restaurant menu is quite unique serving rabbit, venision and lots more with the added bonus of cobra on draft. The food is always cooked to perfection and very tasty, never oily as we have experienced elsewhere. Just go give it a try i sure this will become your favorite restaurant. Happy Hours for two plus five pints of cobra £35.00 bargain.

As a regular eater of Indian food in the Hartlepool area i was extremely happy to see a new restaurant open. The first thing to impress me was the layout and lighting, to say the least it's a little different to the rest. On opening the menu I received my second surprise. Most Indian menus are like for like with a different restaurant name at the top. Masalla Lounge has rabbit and venison on the menu which in the area is unheard of. I was dining with my parents for a special occasion and we were undecided on which starters to order. The owner informed us they do a mixed platter (which wasn't on the menu) I ordered this for the three of us and when it arrived I told the owner he needed to put the brakes on the main course as we would be needing a rest after the platter. The platter was all of the meats venison and rabbit included on a bed of salad and was cooked to perfection. For our mains my parents both strayed off the beaten path. My mother ate the Royal Masala which she said was to die for. My father had the kargosh elazziz (rabbit) and was very impressed. I stuck with an old favourite the chicken madras and found it to be about the best I have tried. The food coupled with fantastic service and these guys are definitely onto a winner.

Restaurant is very nice. l turned up later in the evening and had to wait as they were very busy but it was well worth it!Menu includes Venison and Rabbit amongst the usual range of meat suspects! Being a lover of Venison 'was sceptical but wow. I had theVenison Starter and it was probably the best starter I have ever eaten. This from someone who travels the UK regular. I eat Indian restaurant food at least twice a week to give you an idea of the weight of how good this truly spectacular starter is. Hopefully the photo I took is attached. The presentation is stunning.For main course I always choose Chicken Madras so I can gauge the spice level and Competency of the Chef. I was not disappointed.I have been to 3 other Indian's in Hartlepool but this stands out!!Service can be slowed down as I mentioned but well worth wait!

This is a restaurant with new owners new name and after my visit a new regular customer if they keep the standard of food and service to the high level my partner and i enjoyed. The food was of excellent quality and very nicely presented,the service was very good and all staff were friendly. The menu has all the usual indian dishes but also some surprises like rabbit and venison on it,we had some venison tikka and it was cooked to perfection and was delicious.Looking forward to my next visit and hoping they keep the high standards up that they have set themselves. A must visit for indian lovers in the Hartlepool area
