Masala Works Takeaway in Birmingham

Used to be my favourite by a mile but seems to have lost something recently

I ordered from Masala Works but my food came from Millenium. Either these two restaurants are run by the same owner or my order was wrong. Nevertheless, my food was very good.

Food was cold I had to walk half a mile to delivery driver to get my order

Our second excellent meal. Looking forward to the next one.

We have had many meals from Masala Works and 99% of the time it’s amazing and tastes great which is why we always come back, sadly not on this occasion my own food has no taste to it and it was a very watery Korma!

Our first Order from here. Well what a delicious meal. Can’t wait to have another meal from here.

Usually go here and is really nice however had the same curry we always have and it tasted weird.. too powdery and don’t think the coconut milk had been put in, was vile so couldn’t eat it

Ordered from masala works for the specific reason that they’re tandoori grill is brilliant, loads of meat, chips or rice and salad. Order arrived from millennium balti (owned by same company) but they don’t do the same mixed tandoori grill, it’s also £2 cheaper. (Which wasn’t given back) Food was good as always but not fully what I asked for as it wasn’t from from the correct restaurant.

Something has clearly changed here. Not good

It was beautiful has always but it’s so much more expensive and so far away from me. I won’t be ordering again. Always been my favourite. 4 course banquet which cost £10 more than usual, I used my 5 stamps so it’s ok.

Food was great. Although I had a leaflet from “Millennium Indian and Balti” in with my order. So I’m unsure who made the food. Was it masala works or millennium?

it would be fine, unfortunately it's not, nowhere near. For context we've ordered from Masala works many times and have always enjoyed the food, but the last order was a completely different story, the food was dry, small in portion size and over cooked, I'll never order from these again, and I advise you to follow suit

Worst experience I've ever had. Over 2 hours of my time wasted for nothing. Never pay with card because they will waste your time waiting for refund as well.

The lamb in the balti was tough, the balti sauce had a taste of unblended spices, powder taste not a good taste

I didn't actually have a curry as there was no sauce to the dish. Just a box of oil with chicken, fried onions sprinkled with crunchy onions on top to try and disguise all the oil. No flavour whatsoever. I couldn't eat this as I would of been eating myself a heart attack. I eat some of the chicken as I was hungry but binned the rest. The same thing happened last time I ordered too. This used to be my favourite place to go but they just don't care about the quality of their food anymore. Last time for me.

Good quality food and delivered on time. Chicken tikka was tasty and plenty of it.

My starter was missing, so called Masala Works and asked for a refund. Was told they would through Just Eat... Still waiting. It's only £3.80, but thats not the point, service is service, won't be ordering again.

Lamb tikka masala was like water, really runny and not creamy as it should be.

The delivery driver was wonderful, so friendly. The food as always was amazing.

Desi biryani way too salty and so was the chips. Mirchi seek kebab had way too many chilli flakes on it so not for me everything else was ok

The cod father burger batter was a bit over done I don’t know if I would have it again. The bhajee burger was nice

Food was OK but naan breads were tiny!

First order from here a little disappointed. Ordered 2 poppadoms got 1 and a bit. Very small garlic naan that had no taste or sign of garlic and a King Prawn Balti with 4 Prawns.

Delicious. Perfectly cooked and not on delivery. Looking forward to my next order.

Bhajis were dry but rest of food was very nice

Ordered at 6.50pm was due between 7.30-7.50pm food didn’t arrive till 8.50pm and the food was cold chips tasted stale papadum was soggy will never order from here again

Very disappointed with the cinnamon karak chai. Was watery unlike last time we ordered was way better.

One of the rice's was wrong and cold order pilau rice for both of us one of the pudding was wrong she dont like cheese cake so had to go without all food wasn't has hot has we have had before wasn't very happy person with it this time

Aloo was not fresh but the order was banging

Tha Aloo Gobi was good. However, I ordered cheese naan but received regular ones.

I ordered lamb jelfaz got chicken which I didn't enjoy not very happy person

There was no egg fried rice which we orders There was hardly any chicken in the korma and it tasted very bland The onion bhajis were rock solid couldn't even cut them and the peswari naan didn't taste nice at all

Food was on time but overall meat quality was poor. Most likely old meat

The food was cold. Balti was watery. For the price the portions was small drinks missing from the order. Won't order again not worth the money

Paid nearly £4 for 5 small discs of onion bhajee, they have definable reheated them as they are as hard as cardboard and just as tasty too, to top it off the sent me the wrong desert! I ordered tiramisu chocolate and hazelnut and they sent me coffee version. Used to order from them all the time! Wont be again

Really bland food, the vindaloo was near enough tasteless, very bizarre, the real chef must've had a day off, however delivery was fast and polite

Food was bland and lukewarm. Chicken tikka masala tasted like blended swead/sweet potato was use, was also watery. Mixed grill was bland, chew chips were barely cooked. Ordered fried rice and received boiled. Disgraceful, do NOT order from here. Horrible food, what a waste of £22!!

The food is lovely from here, but unfortunately we was missing one of our meals out of our order. Rang up and they apologise and said would send it, still waiting 45 mins later and the rest of the food is now freezing cold. Rather disappointed as usually this place is spot on with orders. The whole order will now be wasted as we will not reheat rice and naan.

I accidentally click o collection so I picked the food up myself! I’m glad I did because the place didn’t look very clean at all so a definite 0 for hygiene and the staff there were miserable with no manners I threw the food away but if I hadn’t already paid using Just Eat they would have never had my money! The place is a no go zone and I will be looking into where I choose to order from in the future in a lot more depth 👎🏽

Lovely big portions. Ordered large naan & recieved 2 big naans for an extra £1.50. Food was hot & tasty. Would order again if in the area

chicken and lamb dupiaza curry had very little taste, nann bread wasnt very good. Popadoms were really nice.

Food has gone down hill used to be nice but the passed two times we have ordered from here the curry has been more oil then curry nan bread completely dry no honey at all in them

This was my first time using this takeaway and sadly will be the last! The best thing about the experience was that it was delivered on time and the poppadoms, but would be a poor show if They got that wrong! I ordered 2 x Chicken tikka Bhuna’s, definitely not what I received. Might be able to fool people who don’t know any different, but for those who know, know! It tasted like a Korma, and for mine who doesn’t likes mild yoghurty curry’s, was really not a very good experience. The pilau rice also had a mild taste of Milk/yoghurt about it?! Thankfully, we were sent two free poppadoms which were enjoyed with the onion salad. My recommendation would be, if you know what your dish should both look and taste like, maybe try somewhere else so you don’t experience the disappointment that myself and my husband did this evening.

Worst food I’ve tasted. Fish pokara smelt really off, naans were tough, keema naan was ripped open with a patti inside it. Korma did not look appetizing at all and just tasted of coconut. Food hygiene did not look great either with naan in plastic carrier bags. Would never order again!

Really poor . they ignored ‘mild’ request and took nearly 2 hours to arrive. Curry lacked any taste .

Delivery was on time. Food was hot, chips needed a bit longer cooking. Curry was lovely, naan was lovely too. My new favourite.

Not going to leave a bad review because you guys are usually outstanding and the food is always hot and delicious. However last night our order was over 45 mins late and we didn’t get our drinks… no one answered the phone all night so couldn’t get our drinks or a refund so was a bit disappointed.
