Marmaris Kebab & Pizza House in North Devon

Waited donkeys for a cowpat in a wrap. Undercooked and tasteless. Second time so twice bitten bye

Telephoned through an order the other eve. We Were left hanging on the phone for 10 minutes without being able to place our order. With no explanation. I then drove to marmaris and explained..( the phone was stll off the hook when i arrived.. had to re-order our food.. long wait. They did apologise and chucked in an extra tub of mayo.).the staff seemed stressed and there felt an atmosphere. On return home the salad wasnt up to their normal standard. This experience has put us off eating here again. Feel like standards have slipped unfortunately on this occasion.

Exceptional.👍travelled a 20 mins round journey to try their chicken doner kebab. It was arguably the best kebab i have tried in the UK. Great portion size,friendly and accommodating staff.100%would recommend and will be returning in the future.

I’ve just had the best chicken burger and chips I’ve ever had in a long time. Got exactly what I wanted, friendly staff and food is very very good. Can’t wait to be hungry again so I can try something else they offer! Highly recommended.

Great food, great staff, hung over cure for 2, could serve 4, but v.nice, good spice with a creamy after taste from the mayo, we had chicken kebab add as an extra. Can't thank the owner enough good job 👍

Food took two hours to turn up. I ordered a pizza and a lamb kebab wrap. The lamb was so chewy and tough. I ended up throwing it away after two mouthfuls. There was no way that was lamb. It was like old mutton. Lamb is meant to be juicy and tender or at least it has been for the last forty years I have bin eating it . I’ve been pretty loyal to this takeaway over the years, but I would never order again from there. I shall find somewhere else to get my food from on a Saturday night

Great food, non greasy! Very fast delivery to my house in LANDKEY within 15 minutes of ordering! For £1delivery charge. Amazing. Always friendly staff in the shop. And always great pizzas 🍕

Just bought cheesy chips and they were awful! I've never had bad food from here before until now. The chips used to be chunky chips with lovely cheese. These were cheap oven frirs with tasteless cheese. Absolute waste of money. Won't be going back.

Ordered 2 Kiev pizzas, absolutely no garlic at all. Might as well have ordered a a meat feast pizza. Very disappointed

Terrible customer service over the phone, Just Eat requires you to be able to discuss allergens clearly, however this business seems to fail this basic task. Makes you wonder what ingredients they have in their dishes.

This is our go-to place. The food is always tasty and good size portions. A great little spot to grab your kebab, pizza or burger.

Intimidating behaviour from the owner when still trying to obtain my refund after 6 weeks! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! I ordered a kebab for myself and a friend and when it was delivered it was completely the wrong order. I then said I wanted a refund and was told I would receive a phone call from INDIA. 6 weeks later, and I have never had a phone call nor my refund of £15.50. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN, ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING TREATMENT!

My friend got very ill from eating a chicken wrap from here last night. Not going to bother going here again.

Genuinely the worst kebab I've ever had. Horribly dry meat with rancid flavour. Garlic sauce tasted like mould. Avoid at all costs.

Had 2 donor kebabs it was really good value for money,and it was delicious.

We have ordered from Marmaris many times. Tonight we ordered 3 kebabs and couldn’t eat them. The chicken didn’t taste flame grilled and was covered in some kind of yellow spice (no colour from the cooking whatsoever). The doner meat in the two combination kebabs was completely tasteless and the garlic sauce was green in colour with no taste of garlic. I rang and asked if they had a new chef or had been taken over as none of it was the same as usual (the small chicken kebab is always made up with the salad and sauce with the chicken in the pitta) neither of us could eat the food and were so dissapointed. I was told the products, cooking methods etc are the same as they have been for the last 10 years but I can assure everyone none of it is the same.I wanted them to realise why we would not be using them again, if they could at least accept there was a problem we would probably have given them another chance but their attitude and the fact that the phone was put down on me - no chance

Certainly not the best kebab I've ever had but not the worst either, would of been nice to of got all of our food that was ordered

I've been a regular customer for around 8 years now never ever once had a problem with them, the owner is a nice bloke always happy to see us, we always collect because our place is hard to find. not sure what all the bad reviews are about? I would definitely recommend

Rang up to jus let them know that their curry sauce was not the same as normal, it taste and smelt burnt, always get their curry sauce as they're really nice. So I was basically called a liar, told the curry sauce was only made yesterday, and is the same product they always use, and that u can't burn curry sauce! Jus not polite at all, if I'm lucky enough that someone else complains I will get my 4 pound back!! Thought they were better than this.

My meal was not very good as it was cold and because they couldn't find my place and I was waiting for over a hour

Wrong meal showed up in our order took over an hour to arrive when we rung up about the problems the person on the phone was rude an disrespectful about it saying “I bet you £1000 that the problem is your own fault”and said on the phone “oh it’s you”and did nothing about the problem probably the worst service we have ever had won’t be ordering again

Pizza and chips were overcooked and inedible....chips were just mouthfuls of grease...pizza over done and tasted horrific...breaded mushrooms were over done but I suppose the coleslaw was edible.

Its not the best but also not the worst kebab I have had. Reason being they do not do chicken doner and no seating. Also the calzone was a let down.

This place is NOT halal - they sell pork products. Came up on a search for halal food in Barnstaple, but defo not halal.

4 stars for this one as its a great takeaway I've always had fantastic food especially the twitcher which i highly recommend along with the other kebabs. Great for a hangover cure or something to snack on while the oven is broken! I've given 4 as there's always room for improvement such as delivery times ect however I understand that's not always their fault and can be down to the driver and traffic. Recommend ordering for these guys.

If you're unsure about the mixed reviews - this place is fine if you're picking up. We had a doner kebab (pita) and chicken shish (wrap) at about 11pm. The food took about 10 mins, which was fine, and we picked it up. When we got home the food was still piping hot, which was a good plus. Not the most amazing kebab I've ever had, but only because the doner wasn't that flavoursome. Otherwise can't really fault this place. Chips were lovely and chicken shish was also fine! Portions were generous, as you'd expect from a kebab shop. Would happily eat here again.

This place is a joke! My friend recommended trying this place as their kebabs are amazing apparently! Sent my little bro ( who CAN speak English) to get me a kebab! He came back with a box , inside there were two big pieces of meat that smelled awful; a piece of bread and a tub of sauce. I rang up to ask nicely as on their website it said salad would be included. He then rudely said my brother refused salad when asked three times and he even rudely said “ why did you send someone who doesnt speak English to buy you food?”!! If this is not racist, am not sure what is? My little bro is probably more educated than this man who works at this place! Dont judge and be mean when you cant speak good english yourself! I threw the food in the bin as it smelled vile anyway! A simple response to my query would be nicer than accusing someone of not able to speak english and be mean on the phone!!!!

I always walk past Marmaris and decided to finally eat there last night and... Wow. Delicious! I highly recommend the special turkey kebab! Massive portion size and salad for £11 and can easily share it! Bangin 👌🏻

I ordered spare ribs. The first bite I thought I was having fish. The second and third bites were as bad as the first one. I got someone else to taste and they said the same thing. It tasted like old fish. I threw them in the dustbin. They were that bad, my cat wouldn't eat it.

Had food from Marmaris 3 times in the last week as delicious, good value. Collected twice and delivered by lovely friendly guy the last time. Also, helpful lady on the phone, there was issues with the payment machine so she suggested a new app called food hub to order from, was a great suggestion as there was a discount and easy to use, thank you sure we will order again soon

Food turned up 20mins late. Chips was cold hard chewy covered in vinegar disgusting. Chicken kebab tastes like charcoal and the garlic mayo is disgusting. Not even the cans of drinks are chilled. Wouldn’t return

Me and my friends decided for a kebab take away. We ordered Especial Marmaris Kebab came in a big tray good for Two but actually it can served for 4, and Chicken Shish. It came with side salad and pita bread, the Chicken was nice tender and well seasoned. We highly recommend this place.

Ordered from here and wasn’t disappointed. Food was delivered on time, hot and fresh. Louise was informative and patient on the phone. We will make this our regular spot. Keep up the good work.

I would rate less if I could! Unfortunately we do rate this the best kebab shop but we have ordered it too many times and it’s been late. Yes I appreciate this is a tough time but don’t put a timer up if you know that’s impossible to achieve. We ordered hours ago, still hasn’t turned up, can’t get hold of them as ‘they’re on the phone’ and the app we use say it’s already been delivered! We now have 2 very unhappy and hungry children. Very disappointed and will not buy again.

Rang to order a home delivery, was greated by a very rude guy, gave my address and was told rudely card payment only, ( which wasnt not a problem) ...... I then went on to give my order and was aggressively told if I want to order to ring back once I know my order .... which I was on the phone giving, after saying I did not appreciate being spoken to like that he continued to be rude... I then said customer service was disgusting and was hung up on... avoid!

firstly.ordered chicken shish kebab...not marinated not anything really..just plain chicken breast chargrilled..second..since when did you serve top ends of tomatoes in your salad..i know things are bad..but they should go in the bin..not particularly award winning ..third ..maybe you should get some chilli sauce from anatollia 2 ( Thats the only thing they do good..) becouse yours is crap..this was on a monday night so whatever chef youve got to cover your main chef...FIRE HIM..

Ordered our food 7.20pm, it is now 9:20pm. Phoned to check when it’s being delivered the person was very rude. He said the food is on the grill, I asked a rough time as we were expecting it an hour ago. He replied whether I want my food cooked properly or not. Customer service like that puts a bad note for myself. I used to order from them often but now I will take my custom elsewhere.

Would like to name and fame the wonderful family that run this takeaway.They have been selling what they call the Tedd Special in honour of my friends son who we lost at the end of last year.Today they called his mom partner and tedds baby girl into the shop and handed them £600 for his daughter nova.They donated all profit to her.This is what you call a proper locals place that cares about their local community.They have gone above and beyond to help a local family who appreciate it with all they're heart.Needless to say as its staying on the menu we will all be going to eat there again very very soon.Please support this local business as they are truly family and community orientated.Thank you to you and you're staff yourw fabulous xxxx

Best Turkish style (takeaway) Kebab house in Devon period!! They have won awards to this effect, the owner is a awesome guy, one review below has stated that they didn't recieve their drink and gave a one star review, if this happens to you just know Marmaris are more than willing in my experience to fix any complaints very quickly! I reccomend their Pizzas and calzones! Their Carrot Cake is lush and moist, their spicy hot wings are basically on par with KFC's except with a denser meat ratio! Also if you like kebabs theirs are more comprable to a sit down kebab house than a standard takeaway!

Timing is spot on, friendly service more then happy to fix any issues And more then just your grub after a night out delivery is perfect exactly what you need always

Popped in for a kebab after a nice time town. Oh what a mistake. I was chatting with a friend who I don’t see much of and didn’t notice our takeaway was ready. Very much down hill for there. I was called drunk, sworn at and also not given half the food that was ordered. Was then thrown at us and was asked to prove the order when we weren’t offer a receipt. I often don’t feel like I need to review bad news experiences but this was exceptionally awful. Will never go again

We ordered some Pizza's they tasted and smelt like cleaning fluid. When I complained which was the first time in about 3 years of regular orders.I was told that there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with our Pizzas. I then questioned that perhaps some of their cutlery, crockery or utensils hadn't been dried properly or that just maybe they'd cleaned the sides then placed our Pizza bases on top of the recently cleaned side.Apparently, they don't use any form of cleaning product whatsoever and only ever use water. It's a ridiculous lie and why a takeaway would claim to not use cleaning products as an excuse not to refund a customer is unbelievable... Am I expected not to have a basic understanding of Food-Hygiene?It got to the point where the guy was shouting at me down the phone, well we were both shouting to be fair, but still.Why on earth would I suddenly lie about the quality of the food for a refund when I've been a loyal customer for years. It should have been a case of, you order all the time we'll replace the food, sorry about that, especially when the complaint involves food safety.The foods normally really good and everything's fine until you have an issue, it's their customer service that's appalling. Been a regular customer for quite a while never had an issue until tonight. However after my food being under cooked and cold on arrival and not even edible i called to complain and ask for a refund as this had put me off eating, this is when the phone was handed to another staff member (i would guess the owner) took over the call and told me they would not be refunding me in a very rude manner and continued to be rude and then hung up. When my husband proceeded to call them back and tried explaining again that we wanted a refund and he would even bring the food to the shop he was shouted at again by what I would assume is the owner and hung up on. Upon arriving at the shop to return the food my husband was then followed out by the owner who was shouting being abusive and started kicking our vehicle. Not even a hint of an apology for the way our food arrived and absolutely shocking customer service I will never order from here again and will be pressing charges for the damage to our vehicle

Disgusting! worst kebab I've ever had salad was off lettuce was like a wet piece of tissue with brown bits pitta was stale toasting it just made it dryer and harder. I've seen more meat in a McDonald's nugget and their idea of mint sause is the kind u get on Sunday dinner lol. To top it all of someone was smoking in the back and it was blowing through the shop. Hygiene non existent and staff all muttering in foreign language and starring very rude. Just don't do save ur £.

Had takeaways on numerous occasions and the food is fantastic and the service is great! Lovely people, can’t fault them or their food. I collect my orders using just eat service and always ready on time. I know sometimes their delivery service can run a bit late, but that’s usually due to things beyond their control and also on the busiest nights, biggest problem for delays are usually due to customers not the staff. Highly recommend this place, they are the best!

We have used these for past few years, had a few minor errors in orders (such as sauces or salad etc) but not worth a complaint, these things happen.But after today we will never order again! wrong kebab had been delivered, i asked for a lamb shish kebab, and got a doner kebab, wouldnt have minded but cannot stomach doner meat! when calling to explain, i got told i was wrong! i informed them i have call recorder on my phone and have already double checked to confirm it wasnt me, but no they would not have any of it! and then informed me i will have to pay delivery charges if i want a lamb kebab sent out! ended up putting the phone down, disgusting attitude for customer service especially as they know we are regulars and trustworthy!

Always use these guys, by a country mile the best in Barnstaple! Always had amazing service from here, sometime the deliveries are a little longer than promised but there always busy and the food makes up for the wait. There’s not really a particular food I can say is the best but the burgers are out of this world!
