Marks & Spencer Cafe in Swansea

Ordered the crumpet with rarebit and chutney on top. Had our teas. I had to ask about the food 20 mins later. Another 20 mins and it arrived and we'd finished our tea. Said they were short staffed. The crumpet tasted like it was straight from the packet not cooked. Not crispy at all. The cheese went cold really quickly. I'm not convinced it was done properly. Should have complained to the manager. The worst M@S cafe I have been to for cooked food. People should complain its very poor service.

Despite it being a wet and miserable Monday and the second week of the school holidays, the cafe was clean, tidy with plenty of choice. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The service was excellent and waiting time kept to a minimum. I would recommend the cheese scone and hot chocolate.

Appalling service! It took 45 minutes to get 2 toasted teacakes. 3 staff and few customers. And when they did arrive they were burnt.

Good coffee shop but toliets are disgusting because cleaners are refusing to work over time because of the way managers treat them

Very disappointed with the Bacon Rolls we had this morning. They were so greasy the grease soaked into the bread and the grease got on to our fingers. In addition Costa and places like the Observatory and many other Cafes deliver a better Latte and Hot Chocolate. Todays Bacon Roll we felt were a health hazard. We have enjoyed many Bacon Rolls over the years with you but we can’t believe what happened this morning. Hopefully a one off. Ann Morgan look

queuing for 45 minutes , while STAFF chatted , nothing appeared organised STAFF did not even know who was in charge one gentleman was so irate he was seething .... a store manager came , biggest load of rubbish he spoke USELESS he went away never peaking to any of the staff should be renamed FRED CARNOS CIRCUS CUSTOMER SERVICE not on the agenda

Looking for a light lunch in a cafe rather than a pub. Our first choice was full and we spotted M&S nearby, which we thought would fit the bill without further searching. Self serve cakes in slices, which on reflection was rather surprising. We ordered two toasted sandwiches which were both good. Organisation and hygiene very poor: around half the tables had used plates and cups, with the result that new customers with trays from the counter had no choice but to use these. Eventually, what appeared to be a manager came out to start clearing. Later a lady with a trolley took over, working at snail's pace! Like a poor works canteen: we were happy with the food but would never return!

My friend & I viisited the M & S Cafe in Oxford Street Swansea today , 4th March, between 1- 1.30. The queue wasn't too long but started to build up whilst the staff on duty embarked on a shouting contest on some issue of an order. It was most unprofessional , embarrasing & certainly not what one would expect from a store as highly rated as Marks & Spencers. My friend ordered a toasted sandwich and waitited at leasrt twenty minutes for it to arrive by which time she had drunk her cup of tea so did not enjoy it at all. Very disappointed M & S.

Well just arrived at the cafe in Marks and Spencer Swansea. Its dirty, the women are shouting back and it's like being in a cattle mart! I will never set foot on here again!!!!!!

The flat white coffee is just delicious. Beats "big chains" every time and you can ask for the biscotti to go with it. Good price too.

Queue times are awful and i had scrambled eggs with salmon the egg tastes like plastic and the most tiny bit of salmon. And my mum had a chicken burger that was full of this clear white liquid like it was boiled or something ew. Won't be returning.

The staff were friendly and courteous and I enjoyed a tasty bacon bap with a large cappuccino coffee. Despite my visit being mid morning, the café was quite busy and seemed a meeting place for a number of local people judging by the greetings I overheard. Definitely worth a visit.

Just started coming here for a coffee and a snack, staff pleasant and restaurant clean. Not particularly cheap but it is M & S after all. Definitely worth a try, I recommend the turkey and brie toasty.

Had a very long wait in queue, certainly no problem to staff. Many standing around chatting. Coffee was fine but sandwiches were no better than a second rate transport cafe. Queue got longer and longer. Not at all comfortable.

Nice place to go for a drink and lunch. They do a nice toasty and the new frappelatte drink is nice. The staff are a bit slow at serving and the waitress who came to the table with my families orders walked away with mine still on her tray! She then realised and bought it back.

A m&s lunch is a simple treat but I gave to say they do a great jacket potato, the salad and dressing was delicious. Their lemonade is very good. Their afternoon tea is also yummy.

great place to have a light meal or something more substantial. We travelled through the UK and Wales and this was our number one choice.

It is always busy and you have to wait in the queue to get a coffee or a snack but the ladies that they usually get your order and pay they are always polite friendly and professional. The snacks are good and the usual scone that I like, superb. Cappuccino in three sizes are always well prepared and I enjoy it. We never sat for breakfast or lunch but must be good as it always so busy. Price is worth as the quality is always there.

I called here with my mum whilst shopping in Swansea. It has all the typical food/drinks found in M & S cafes. We both had tea which was nice enough. The cleanliness of the café in general wasn't the best on this occasion. The staff were very friendly though and were very good at training a new member of staff.

Terrible lay out with poor staff. Use one of the local cafes if you need a coffee or bite to eat. Far far better

The coffee and food at any M&S; café is always good and this visit was no exception to the general rule. The café is always clean and despite the café always being busy the staff keep on top of clearing away trays and keeping it tidy.

I really like the pizza. I'm glad they brought actual Coke in as opposed to M&S; Cola. It's next to the hat section which is always good.

I had an enjoyable visit to M&S; after which I left a message via trip advisor to ask the name of the rolls used for bacon butties in fforrestfach unit however I am really disappointed that no one bothered and replied .

The cafe is right in the city centre on the second floor overlooking the main street. The view is limited but there is a variety of seating to suit all. Food and drink is as you would expect from this firm and reasonably priced.

Always good to have breakfast or lunch at these M&S; restaurants that many tourists don't consider- food id really good- the prices are fair and teas and coffees good too. The full English breakfast especially was really good. And you can buy excellent sandwiches and...

Llamado aquí para cambiar y nos pareció que era aceptable en general, pero nada especial, aunque creo que 3 libras por un pedazo de pastel era un poco caro. Es un lugar que puedo tomar o dejar realmente pero volveríamos cuando estoy en la zona de nuevo.

Use of the cafe food was bland then use of the toilets as I was using the restroom a male cleaner just came in never mind the fact it's inappropriate for a male to be in female toilet I would rather him of waited and closed the restroom than having him in a restroom full of women trying to do there businesses and the toilets where horrific poo & wee all around the toilets and up the walls absolutely disgusting

I was there yesterday after 2pm and it doesn't seem to matter how quite the Café is the staff can't seem to get their act together. 3 members of staff discussing a customers points while the queue got longer and longer! If there is a problem then open up another till - there were plenty of staff wondering around! I don't go to M and S unless I'm with someone who wants to go there!

Visited at 10.40 a.m.Queue was between 12 and 18 people from time of arrival to time of service.At least 6 staff were there but only 1 was making coffee!!Quality of food and drinks good; staff very friendly.But M&S management really need to get a grip on how to train people and to run a cafe

This was my first visit to a M&S cafe. Absolutely delightful, everything we had (three of us) was delicious. This won't be my last visit. It also wasn't as pricey as I first thought!

Quality pf food and drinks very good but a shame M&S can'y get their act together to avoid long queues and slow service. I have yet to visit M&S cafes where staff do not seem to get in each other's way and take their time to serve people who might be in a hurry

A long queue fretted us to be served at the counter but our toasted sandwich was worth waiting for with a lovely cup of latte coffee and a delicious hot luxury chocolate for my husband with marshmallows..fooled be a Devon scone with mixes berry jam and clotted cream.delicious!

If your travelling on a budget M&S is a great way to save money pre made sandwiches , salads , wraps , sushi and meals that can be heated also fresh juices a great range of produce and general supermarket stuff.

This cafe is a clean friendly cafe while not remarkable it's a typical M&S with helpful staff. The foods is decent while not remarkable it's reliable.

Busy store cafe / restaurant where staff behind the counter were too busy chatting amongst themselves to notice that you were waiting !!!!! After, food served was tired and only warm .....jacket potatoes dry and burnt, filling of tuna and sweetcorn appeared liquidised with not a flake of tuna let a lone a piece of fish visable in the mix , drinks ok ...... but on the whole a poor show

The quality if food and drink is always good but the service is terribly slow. It has improved slightly over recent years but is still well below the average.

Had breakfast on mon everything was just warm except for the egg and that was because I asked for one that was cooked not with the white runny I know it is cheap and cheerful but it should at least be hot won't be going back.

We come here most Saturdays for a coffee and snack halfway through shopping. It's a very busy cafe. The tables are clean and the staff work hard. The staff are also very friendly and always talk. The coffee is always lovely and we have a toasted tea cake which is brought out quickly.

Staff helpful, carried my food over but not quite as good as the Llanelli cafe in Trostre but never mind, I don't come here often as it's hard to walk there and parking is too expensive by the time I've got a scooter to use.

The coffee and food may be ok but definitely not so special that you would want to stand for absolutely ages in a queue for it - won't go back until M&S get their act together and speed up the service. Other coffee shops in the immediate vicinity are much better and they also have loyalty incentives.

My first visit to Marks and Spencer café and won't be my last, the coffee was nice and hot and served in a wide coffee cup, the taste factor was mmmmm, the croissant was very light and melted in the mouth. This visit was a "I must visit again" type of visit. The prices are quite high but the quality is very good and the service also was very good.

We decided to bypass Costa's and headed to Marks & Spencer Cafe. We like their coffee as well. it's good value and you get a choice of cream or milk. We like the loyalty card. What we don't like is the length of time it takes to get served at the counter. There are two cash tills but rarely are both manned (or woman-ed). Yet again slow service - what's new. I know it takes a little longer to make an americano and a Cappuccino but this is where the frustration really takes off when the customer behind me in the queue gets served before me! If a cup of coffee (which looks exactly the same as an americano) is pushed in front of you then would you not assume that it is meant for you? Especially as you have already paid? Well I assumed wrong folks! I was told, sharply, that it was for the lady behind me in the queue. This has happened to me several times before so now I am considering downgrading to ordinary coffee to get sserved quicker and thus keep my blood pressure level down as it takes long enough to get to the till as it is. This is not peculiar to Oxford Street it's the same in Fforestfach and Llanelli. As I am a pensioner and an ex Marks & Spencer employee I was taught to smile at the customer and apologise for any inconvenience. Would it not be prudent for M&S management to frequent Costa's where the staff are barista trained and while they might be very busy with long queues at least the staff are efficient so waiting time is less. I totally agree with a previous comment re uncleared and unwiped tables. I do not have shares in Costa's nor any family working there - just appreciate good service.With a smile...

Just like any other M&S cafe. Same food, drinks, queues and tables to be cleared. I have to fill up 50 characters so I will say the latte is nice and the loyalty card is handy for the free 10th drink.

A pleasant coffee break with good value coffee. Quick for on the go moments! Quite pricey snacks but good quality.

Visited today 15/10/14 for lunch with Hubby, was busy, we managed to find a table but it was still messy with crumbs from the last people. I queued to order food and Hubby waited for waitress to pass to ask her to spritz table. The 2 ladies in charge of cleaning tables were quite slow, even though the place was busy. They picked up trays, took them to a central clearing station then stood each time for a while chatting to each other as if they had all the time in the world. A few people cleared their own tables whilst I stood there and watched. When it was my turn to be served I asked the Lady serving me if she could arrange for our table to be cleaned. this she did. We did not have to wait long for our food and it was quite good but unfortunately we would not return.

This will never dissapoint, Great Staff and snacks with a clean and relaxed atmosphere. A Latte and A toaster is always a winner for me.

Each and every time we go for a coffee and food at marks spencer, Swansea, Parc trostre or Cardiff it is the same each time. Long queues slow service and a feeling that some of the staff should be somewhere else not thereOh we wish they would do something about their coffee shops. Spoils the visitOn a kinder note. Lovely food. Ex tea and coffee.

Go here all the time!The service is excellent, the queue can be long but that's because they make perfect coffee and it is so worth waiting for. All staff are polite and people in the queue need to cut them some slack as I've seen customers be very rude.

Visited food hall store in forest fact Swansea 23/12/2013 at 0930 to find that trolleys were nowhereTo be seen. Once I got one which was a twenty min wait, I managed to get inside which I can onlydescribe as shoppers blocking all the aisles, so shopping was pretty limited. You had a queue going right around the perimeter of the store leading to the check out. Because the queue was organised like this a certain amount of products were blocked for trolleys being in the way. NEVERAGAIN.
