Marks and Spencer Cafe in Reigate and Banstead

I'll sometimes pop in with my children whilst shopping, the service is never the quickest, however, after my last visit - the service was so slow, I don't think we'll be back. There was a faulty microwave and I could see / hear this was the reason for the chaos, but personally, I don't think I'll go back.

This marks and spencer has the most appalling customer toilets absolutely filthy no toilet paper dirty toilet roll and used tampon on the floor urine on seats won’t be going there again.

Had a lunch meal which we enjoyed very much. Quite a reasonable range. Wouldn't say its 3 course menu kind of place but offers good food for those who want a quick easy snack at a reasonable price. Not overly busy for those who want an in out facility.

Not as nice as it used to be since they removed the comfy arm chairs, and with a more limited menu than used to be as well, but still great for such as morning coffee and croissant etc

M&S Cafe has become a fairly regular place for me to grab some hot food in Redhill, and it is way better than many of the other choices on offer (are you listening Sainsburys?). The biggest problem seems to be with M&S head office management and a general lack of interest in running a once good business. Is this because there is practically no competition left in Redhill and you don't really care, or can you not see there's an opportunity here? The staff are friendly and do their best, but the queues can be long and slow, especially at lunchtimes (you would never expect that, would you?). The already fairly limited menu choices are often unavailable, as ordering and food delivery seems to be totally hit and miss. And how can you run out of eggs, for crying out loud, with M&S Food in the same store??? And when you do run out, why not feature some of the foods you sell for home consumption? Cross-sell and keep your customers happy at the same time? Please allow the staff to use their initiative when things like this happen. I'm sure things could run better with a bit of delegation. And ignore the 1* review below about chicken burgers (reported to TA). I had to complement the staff on mine, it was that well prepared.

Decided I'd try the chicken burger, risky business most of the time anyway! Microwaved, it was just awful. Stringy and disgusting as well as severely over priced. If you do hot food do it properly or just don't bother. Next day I had symptoms that I can only compare to IBS. Disappointed is saying it mildly.

Have coffee every Tuesday, very much enjoy their cortado. Others usually have tea. Very enjoyable, have a visit

Cramped..tables too close together.Very small portions..not enough variety( compared to what can buy on shop shelf and take home)....great coffee!

I think the services is bad because you have to get ur own tray and put your own things on it the hot chocolate is better that Costa and west céntrela because it is sweeter. Nice touch to have small biscuit with tea.

How M&S manage to recruit such slow staff amazes me. It is consistant and repeated in other branches. Do they make a special effort to find them. The food is OK and reasonable value. As long as you have time to spare it is OK.

Excellent cafe for a reviving coffee or tea whilst shopping in Redhill-also good for a bite of lunch such as a toasted sandwich or a jacket potato

Break from shopping for lunches, sandwich selection good, so are the cakes, they make a really good macchiato,

Food is a bit overpriced but the main gripe is the very slow service at the counter. Staff are very friendly but there must be a better way of speeding things up. Bit of a walk around to the toilet facilities too.

A very bland décor [brown and fawn] with a very limited range of choice and it all seems too much for the staff who are disinterested

Have always loved M&S especially their coffee and food. Whatever town visiting we usually head straight to M&S and have never been disappointed with cleanliness and service .However, Sevenoaks was my biggest shock. Floor was dirty and covered in a huge amount of food .As there was no where else to sit we had to sit looking at it whilst drinking luke warm coffee. Just as well we were in a rush that day, as we beat a hasty retreat. We should have complained. Lets hope it was a one off.

The staff always smile and make you feel so welcome and they are very efficient, lovely just popping in for a tea and a cake or something more substantial. In fact I'm about to go there this morning!

La comida siempre es lo que esperas. el único comentario que tengo es que realmente la cola siempre es enorme y el servicio es lento. También es bastante oscuro y puede ser muy cálido. El personal es muy amable y complaciente x

M&S; COMIDA agradable, encantador café, no es un mal lugar para sentarse. Puede ser un poco molesto cuando ocupado como personal un poco nervioso - trabajo en atención al llegar a todo el mundo organizado. Lo contrario es lo que se espera de un M&S; cafe!

Not loads of choices in Redhill for child friendly lunch places in my opinion, but M&S are pretty good. Always high chairs available, food has enough choice but not loads. Reasonably priced.

Have frequently used this cafe as we regularly pop into M&S while visiting Redhill. As part of the M&S shopping centre it is bright and clean, although the table clearing could be a bit better some times. Staff are lovely, just accept they are humans too. Quite a wide range of all the regular food & drink items; always appears to be reasonable stocked. We both enjoy our favourite drinks, and have never had to make any adverse comment. Might be quite full on a Saturday lunchtime - chose your timing carefully.

How you can make a simple visit to a serve yourself cafe so long I do not know. The food and drinks are OK but you do lose the will to live waiting for them to be served.

It is somewhat tedious sometimes to have to go round and round the shops, not always buying, sometimes just browsing and it is a relief to put one's feet up and have a drink and something to eat in a cosy warm friendly place, this is it and very convenient too.

We have lunch here around once or twice each month. The food is well cooked and tasty. Coffee is well flavoured without being bitter. Staff are always pleasant and friendly.

One area they haven't got right! Poor service, long queues, messy tables and never enough staff to clear away, No customer service at all

Absolutely horrendous service....stood in the queue for a good 15 minutes ,......eventually ordered....waited another 30 minutes for our food......whatever is wrong here needs to be sorted out .....ASAP.....

I met my husband for lunch, we chose jacket potatoes and coffee.We sat at the table, waited and waited, the couple sitting next to us had been waiting even longer. In the end I had to go back to work with no lunch otherwise I would have been late. My husband waited to get a refund they were very sorry, (apparently everything has to be cooked from scratch) not very forward thinking M&S I think I will just have a sandwich next time. Not impressed.

I popped in to have a toastie and coffee for a late lunch and handed over my sandwich to be toasted. They took my money, gave me a number for my name and I proceeded to wait, and wait and wait. 25 mins later, having got no coffee or toastie, I asked for my money back as I started to feel faint from the hunger. The supervisor gave me my money back and a token for a free coffee next time.The last time I was at this cafe was when it opened and it was horrific then too. So I won't be back.

We only ever have coffee which is always good, service has got better, good selection of food but could be better

Most recent visit to this town centre cafe in one of the best Marks and Spencer’s around. Usually plenty of room particularly when my father is with us in his wheelchair which requires some accurate parking and space to manoeuvre to get his legs tucked under a table. Although does tend to get crowded between twelve to two on Saturdays.Can also be on the warm side like the rest of the store but nothing too problematic as in the summer it seems to be air-conditioned although this may be just a draft wafting through.Food and service has improved since our first visit in the last couple of years as there used to be a bottle neck at the cash desk where you pay and pick up beverage orders. This now seems better manned with speedier staff. Perhaps they’ve been better trained!Food was tasty and appetisingly presented and served with the new carrot and coriander soup (comes with two rolls and butter) going down well along with the toasted cheese and chicken (with a hint of spice) sandwiches. Pastries were also nice and fresh two Eccles cakes and a raisin Danish plus to drink a small latte and filter coffee and a pot of tea. No pressure to eat and drink quickly as the staff make sure the empties are cleared away but leave you free to linger if one of you wants to pop off to do some more shopping.Some may consider the bill £21.95 a bit pricey but overall because of the standard of food and drink the pleasant surroundings and convenient location it was worth it.
