Marks and Spencer Altrincham in Trafford

Not much in store that’s current. No cashmere jumpers this year and the dresses were awful. Not as many ladies tops for this time of year either. Really couldn’t find anything for Christmas. Think they selling more childrens clothes at the loss of ladies clothes. Will only be going for food in future

I visited M and S on Monday to return a blouse as the material had not reacted well to being touched by the iron. As a long standing customer and having bought many, many items over the years, I felt it was reasonable to air my concerns regarding the fact that the iron which was set to the coolest setting, had taken a piee out of my blouse.When I spoke initially to the cashier, she didn't react at all but said she would get a second opinion. After having called over her colleague (another cashier), they both agreed after having seen the blouse for a matter of seconds, that there was not a fault with the blouse??? I reiterated that I had set the iron to the coolest setting, but after feeling humiliated and made to feel like a liar, I went home and have effectively wasted my money on a blouse which I have only worn once.There isn't a problem with my iron and I have ironed several polyester items without a problem.Interestingly, I spoke to some Jewish friends who advised me to send a letter of complaint, which I will be doing.I feel that I have been a loyal customer for years and was treated like dirt by Customer Services.I will not shop at M and S again unless I receive an apology

I like their food and coffee. They also do vegan sandwiches. The cafe is pristine clean, service good, layout roomy and there are tables for Disabled customers to use. There is a lift and stairs to it as it is on the 1st floor.

I’ve shopped at Marks and Spencer’s many times and for many years but was not treated with the usual courtesy today . I returned a bra ,unworn and with all the labels ‘retained’ as directed in the receipt. The cashier called a manager as I did not have a hanger which I was not given at my original purchase. He also wanted to query whether the item had been worn which it clearly had not and I explained this. The manager reluctantly offered me a ‘courtesy’ credit note as the item could not be resold as the labels were not attached. I should have been offered a refund and felt very angry when she walked away implying she had done me a favour.

This is not the best cafe... it lacks ambiance and warmth. The dirty dishes not cleared on almost all tables was a bit off putting. The food is not prepared nicely at all. Shame as it could have a lot of potential.

Lift access to this coffee shop. Perfect place for light bites and cakes. Full range of coffee's and tea's including decaff.

Wanted two pots of tea and one of hot water with three cups and saucers to be told that we would be charged for the hot water. Have checked this on the 'help contact' on the website and apparently this is the procedure now. Disappointing. Apparently the little biscuits are also only supplied on request and not in all stores.

My wife bought me a leather jacket for my birthday and paid approx £150.After a few times wearing it the leather started to peel off so i took it back for a refund only to be told that the jackets were now in the sale and without a receipt i could only have the sale price that was £25, Well that will be the last time i ever shop and m&s because i dislike being ripped off.

Both the clothes and food outlets are well stocked serviced plus staff are helpfull. Its very handy to have a car space for pickup of heavy items at the rear.

Este es obviamente un lugar popular para comer porque estaba muy lleno cuando fuimos allí, pero había sólo una corta espera hasta que pudimos encontrar una mesa vacía. Habituales de buena calidad m s de comer comida snack & estilo (sopa, pan tostado y sándwiches normal, etc).

Nice place for coffee and light lunch. Good service and selection of sandwiches and cakes. I Will return here on my next visit to Altrincham.

Maybe it was a busy lunch time - but the service was very slow and tedious. The coffee is half proper strength. Food selection is complicated by the silly layout. Handy for the WC though!

Small branch, but great for food, limited clothing. Very near market ,pedestrianised main shopping area forvAltrincham.

Situated in the centre of Altrincham with good car parking facilities nearby.

Lovely sopping experience...an added bonus meeting singer Carmel McCourt hits in the 80s sellig knickers in the lingerie department,she told one days she's performing to thousands in Paris the next sizing up bras for old dears....would recomend

Waiting fifteen minutes to be served and then a further twenty for a cheese toastie to arrive sums up this place. The store manager to his credit was fully aware of customers frustrations and was trying his best to sort out what was a very slow process.

This is Marks & Spencers at its best in Altrincham. Great shopping and great service. They have a good cafe too serving snacks, meals to suit most deseving customers.Sitiuated in the heart of Altrincham with easy access for wheelchairs too.Clean store, friendly staff and most helpfull.Near Banks pubs & other upmarket stores.

Welcoming staff and a great food selection make this a sure-fire stop off on any visit to Altrincham. Sidestep the scrum of grannies that congregate around the inside entrance and make your way to the food section to treat yourself to lunch. You can usually find a great deal, and the wine selection is good too.

Not as much choice as the store in the Trafford centre, but worth a visit. Coffee shop good choice, although can get very very busy. Food hall excellent, lots of choice and well stocked.

I just wanted to pass on my most sincerest of thanks to your staff in the cafe. Particularly one lovely lady who help me in my hour of need. I'm afraid I didn't catch her name but she went beyond expectations to help me today and I'm sure she will remember me.

Busy in-store cafe with a good range of teas and nice coffee. We (three of us) all had jacket spuds, which very good and we didn't have to wait long. There is also a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. The staff are friendly and the restaurant very clean.
