I have never known such a slow service anywhere. The system you are using to take orders, make drinks and serve food badly needs revising and stream lining. It is slow and totally inefficient. I waited for 10 minutes in a long queue that didn't move, but then gave up and went elsewhere.

Awful..rude staff who looked like they didn’t want to be there… just dire..will not return…whoever is the manager needs to address the obvious issues here..

Every table full of dirty cups etc. Staff extremely slow & not particularly pleasant (assuming they probably dislike their jobs as they are clearly understaffed) in need of a decent manager & more effecient & energetic staff!! Huge queue & a burnt sandwich and wrong coffee order at the end of it.

Called in to sample a festive Colin the Caterpillar hot chocolate and although the drink was lovely the rude and miserable demenur of the older man serving behind the counter and also the young girl cleaning tables and the trays spoiled the experience. Seriously don't work in hospitality if you can't be polite and raise a smile. Will not be returning in a hurry.

Recently, we have found M&S Café in Yeovil very disappointing. The quality of food is poor - we ordered a jacket potato and it was uncooked properly. Also, the menu is very limited and items are often unavailable from 1pm onwards. The service takes a very long time and there is obviously not enough staff. Tables are left, sometimes stacked, with dirty cutlery, dishes and cups. The queue time is on average 20 minutes and the food can take up to 30 minutes to arrive. The quality of food and drinks are average.

Agreed dreadful coffee, what happened here!! Informed staff, told its they way the machine is running. Tasteless brown water!

Dreadful! Every time we've been there we've had to queue for 10mins or more. There are 2 coffee machines, but they only use 1. Staff don't seem to care less. Food is always half an hour wait even when it's not busy. Why does it take so long to heat food up!?

Slowest service by the most disinterested staff I’ve come across before. The coffee is now awful, it used to be half decent a few years ago when I last came here, now it’s a step down from the machines in Wetherspoons, but how is a mystery since they grind the beans in store. I had the eggs royale, which was served with brown lettuce on the side, and the eggs were on the firmer side of what you’d normally expect. The atmosphere felt mostly like it was full of other people who were not impressed with the service either

We have always found the coffee in M&S cafe to be quite good. The last few times we have noticed it to be so strong and bitter that it is virtually undrinkable. The regular size is now the same as the original small, but appears to be the norm for most places. Unfortunately it is Costa coffee when we are in Yeovil next time.

Came here for lunch today, waited over twenty minutes to be served, then told hot food was a twenty minute wait, I only wanted a toasted sandwich. The staff had a no care attitude, the tea was cold, when our lunch arrived, they only made one sandwich, when I asked where the other sandwich was, she said it’s on its ways, she never came back and the other sandwich never materialised, I got up and left. I have been here a few times recently as I work in Yeovil and each time there has been an issue and it’s always chaotic, lacks leadership and organisation , needs a good manager in there and some staff that like there job. I will not be returning anytime soon.

One girl serving on a Saturday of bank holiday weekend, very very slow. They'd run out of items on the menu by 12pm. No apology for the wait or the lack of items in the menu. Not friendly, very unsmily staff. Lots of staff milling about doing nothing. Avoid this place. Not the usual M and S level of service at all.

Unplanned lunch with hungry and thirsty kids. We all had toasted sandwiches and shared packs of crisps. The kids both has apple drinks and we had coffee. I wouldn't do this very often as I found it quite expensive for the four of us. The toastie were yummy and the coffees were nice and hot. The cafe its self was clean and tidy despite being quite busy.

With a broken dish washer and one of the busiest Saturday Shopping days in December the staff worked so hard and still with a lovely polite and professional manner. You all make a big difference to the everyday for so many people.Thank you

Really....! Unacceptable from this global giant, far too many empty tables covered with dirty plates mugs and trays, I even had to clear and clean my own table before we could sit down. There has been trays left on tables for ages and people waiting over 30mins for soup. The only nice thing I have to say is that the glass bottle of coca cola was superb. 👍🏿

I ordered a flat white iced coffee, and it was presented in the smallest glass that would usually be served to child. I paid £2.70 which seems a lot for the little amount of drink you get. I mentioned it to a member of staff that I was shocked at the size, where he politely interrupted me and said he definitely agrees. He thought it was ridiculous as well. The member of staff that served me was brilliant and made the drink into an iced latte as it was bigger. Marks and spencer you need to sort this as it’s not great value for money especially when an adult orders it.

It's what you'd expect from M&S, the cafe is quite large and can be crowded and noisy. It's very handy if you're shopping on the High Street but it can be difficult to hear what's being said. Also, you have to carry your own food and drink back to the table, which can be difficult whent it's crowded.

Yeovil itself appeared very quiet today, so was surprised to find the M&S Cafe had a long queue, after waiting in the queue for 10 mins, and noticing only 1 staff member serving drinks and 1 serving hot food, also noted no fersh cakes or scones at all, instead of the normal freshly baked scones someone had opened a packet of scones from the food hall, left it half in the packaging and still charging the same amount??.This was 1pm, not the end of the day and stocks were low. Is this store closing,?? It has that feel about it today. I went to the costa next door and was served straight away.

Regular visitor and the product is always great and consistently so. The staff are always friendly and bend over backwards to help. The only drawback is it can be hard to get a table at busy times but that is understandable when it is so popular.

An early start meant we were looking for breakfast in Yeovil so went to the café at M & S. At the entrance to the café was a picture of scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon. This looked most attractive so that is what we ordered. When it arrived the plates were cold, there were two pieces of toast and two packs of butter and two very small pieces of smoked salmon. This looked nothing like the picture and the scrambled eggs resembled lukewarm yellow rubber. Awful!

Staff are quick, quality is good. The name M&S exist for a reason. They deliver with steady hitting precision. There is no reason to chance the cheap option in town if you want a cheap bite. Grab these guys because it’s exactly what you want.

Absolutely awful, bacon over cooked to the point it was dry, mushrooms the tiniest you have ever seen and undercooked, toast was warm bread with a slight crisp to it, scrambled egg was so dry. The tomatoes were the only item on the cold plate that were nice, and this is what you get for nearly £16 for two breakfast. Never again, poor poor show at this branch. if I could i would give it a big minus 5.

Enjoyed a really nice cream tea today in the M&S; cafe for £3.50. Had the choice of scone too either fruit or plain complete with a little pot of jam, a tub of cream and butter and an individual pot of tea. Tasted great, really enjoyed the summer fruits jam which was a bit different from the usual strawberry. The jam was so good that I bought some down in the food section.

Went in for a pot of tea as I was shopping, just wish they had smaller tea cup sized cups! The food selections looked appetising and everything was clean and tidy.

I went for my regular M&S; breakfast only to find that my usual splendid smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese had been discontinued and replaced by scrambled eggs on toast. I went for the scrambled eggs on toast but was very disappointed. The toast was ok but the scrambled eggs were very rubbery, tasteless and not representative of their picture on the notice board. Never again! There are other options on the menu.

Never been here before but had a voucher from them for coffee and cake to use. Very friendly staff. Looked liked an adequate choice of snacks and cooked meals. Very busy which must be a good sign and I noticed that a lot of the waitresses were welcoming returning customers.

the food and coffee here is nice. Its clean and the service is good they can be very busy and at times nearly no space to seat on.. would recommend this café.

Came in, a long queue (as usual) for some reason whenever I come there is limited options but also the shelves where the sandwiches and wraps etc. go are always empty! Got served by a woman who didn't speak to us but was vocally complaining about some other member of staff and how annoying she was being. Not the best experience but the soup was divine and would come back!

Marks' café can be anything or nothing. The small ones just offer soup or baked potatoes - the big ones offer a decent breakfast menu and an extended lunch offer.

Have just endured lunch @ Marks & Spencer cafe and what a joke!

Order was taken and paid for, took drinks, waited for food. Half an hour later, still waiting. Cafe not busy, tables around mainly empty apart from trays of used dishes. Possibly short staffed but no apology to this effect up. Asked what the delay was. Girl asked what we had ordered, left, returned to ask again what our order was and left again. Different staff member came & asked what we had ordered. Elderly lady customer asked staff to clear a table for her and was told ‘not my job’! It was then decided that either they had lost our order or it had not been put through. Another lady came with the soup ordered and said gluten free rolls not available, said would fetch from food hall. Ate soup slowly waiting for roll, she returned with to cafe with rolls but never brought them. Ate soup as it was going cold. Saw rolls served to others. Gave up and left. No apology at any time.

Popped in for a toastie and sandwiches and we had smoothies to drink as it was so warm today. Friendly and efficient service. Several tables to choose from even though it was lunchtime. Staff clearing away empty tables quickly.

Purchased the meal deal for 2 absolutely lovely a lot of variety to choose from lovely starter runny scotch egg ,rib eye steak and chunky chips was excellent for main, fresh strawberry desert and lovely Australian red to finish my favourite place to shop always great food and nice staff

Toasted sandwich and a cup of tea. Found the service slow, there were lots of staff at the till but no one eager to help. Sandwich took over ten minutes to come to the table. The price was good and there were staff around cleaning the tables. The cafe was very warm, but it is a very December

It is always handy to grab a quick snack or lunch here.You know what you are going to get with M and S.recommend the bacon sandwich.

Over priced food-The staff are as though in a Dream-spend more time hunched over each other chatting while customers politely wait-Slow Slow service and staff not very friendly,as I say spend more time chatting to one another- The coffee is weak ,you can almost see through it before the milk is added ..Very poor..and the taste is poor ..sorry looks nice decor set up.but thats it for me

On a hot day after shopping this is a nice place to sit for a break and a rest. The air conditioning is lovely in the store, not like other coffee shops which can be too hot. Service is efficient and although starts with a queue, it soon goes down - service is swift.Cleaning and tidying of tables is efficient to enable new customers to arrive and get a seat. Coffee I am told is very good and as a tea drinker, the tea is of a good flavour and is refreshing. Drink sizes and prices are average, same as everywhere else - cake treats are lovely and items are fresh and well prepared. Whats not to like - its M&S!

As I was early for a appointment I had a rather nice coffee m&s is not a store I use a lot as I don't come to town very much but it has always been very good and clean I have never found the toilets dirty or smelly

What more is there to say other than it's just an M&S which means it will be good quality but just a sort of Cafe'.

A visit to the cafe, a simple but pleasant experience. Clean, tidy and good service. I only had a filter coffee - but cheaper and on a par with Costa for taste, hotter & fresher than Coffee #1. It's been a few years since I frequented M&S for my coffee and I'll happily return next time I visit Yeovil.

Put me off when I used the toilet - dirty and smelly. No excuse - as it was a Saturday morning. I don't want to eat in the cafe again. Other people also commented about state of loos.

Expensive menu for average food served by not very polite staff. Could be cleaner & expected better really.

Had been multiple times to the store, for purchasing ready to eat food and microwavable dishes and fresh fruits and vegetables and tried multiple options (chinese, indian, juices, milkshakes, sandwiches, wraps, cola, different berries, cherry tomatoes and on and on and on), really everything surprised me, became a fan of the varieties of wraps, could have been more (may be i am asking a little more :)), so many times went up and down the store, even did a couple of times dress shopping while going to the food store, it definitely burnt a hole in my pocket... but else it is a great place for the eat out stuff. Recommended for take back homes are the cookies and mini bites... got the cookie bus and the cookie telephone booth... kids loved them... elders too... :) will definitely hangout there on my next visit to Yeovil...

Lovely fish curry , not the cheapest in Yeovil but certainly quality food. Friendly service and the whole group were happy

The toasties are very good and are brought to your table. Very handy place to pop into for a quick snack when in town.

Enjoyed coffee here on several occasions this month. Pleasant, efficient staff and good choice of snacks.

I had memories of nice food in M&S so I ordered something described as a chicken breast on a bed of pasta with some green veg and some sort of grain.What came out was a bowl of mush with desiccated minute bits of chicken in what looked like a tomatoey baked bean sauce (though there had been no mention of tomato on the menu board) and it definitely was not a breast of anything sitting on anything.Upon investigation it turned out to be a ready meal that had been microwaved. What a con. I asked for my money back and left. There was surprise on the part of the staff that I wanted a refund. How dare I ??? I am voting with my feet and not eating in an M&S again. I never have ready meals at home and I don't want them when I eat out.

Standard M&S fare, we enjoyed the jacket potatoes and dressing and they are good value for money. We order small cup size drinks as we feel these are better value than the larger ones. On this occaison the queue was small, but it can get very busy. Remember this is a department store cafe, not a pure restaurant.

So this is my second visit in 7 months to Marks & Spencer Cafe, has it improved? its gone from poor to average, fafter my last review the manager said they would peak to the staff about my comments... i think it fell on deaf ears! the place is still filthy! The floor is covered in food, i thought i was going to have to keep my bag on my lap again whilst i ate but a bench seat became available so i was able to sit there & put my bag on that instead! The staff that were cleaning, were again brushing the crumbs from the table onto the floor....We ordered a cold drink & a cheese & ham toastie, it was quite busy, the queue moved slowly, we took a seat & about 10 minutes later our toasties were brought over, we paid an extra £1.50 for a side salad, which is a bit of mixed leaf, a few slices of cucumber & 3 baby tomatoes...well it is Mark's & Spencer, they do like to rip you off i suppose!The knives & forks are so blunt, it is impossible to stab & cut a cherry tomato.... what can you do about that? pre cut them in half or supply sharper knives? the salad dressing was so good again i must buy some of that! The toasties were nice although again hard to cut with our blunt implements, are they afraid the retired people of yeovil might start stabbing each other? WHY are they so blunt? very odd indeed! Anyway as before, i won't be rushing back but I might....pop in again if i find myself hungry & stranded in Yeovil town centre.

I am really shocked at Mark's & Spencer's cafe in Yeovil. I have never visited it before today & I expected MUCH MUCH more! I was really disappointed!On a Friday I often pop somewhere local for lunch, the first cafe i tried was full, the next was shut, the next was also shut, so i find myself stood near Mark's & Spencers 25 minutes into my lunch break & think i may as well try here.......First disappointment was the lack of choice of soft drinks & paying £1.75 for a coke? Sorry am i at a service station??? Anyway i decided to order a jacket potato with beans & cheese, I am disappointed there is no coleslaw on the menu & the staff thought it was more interesting to talk amongst themselves instead of serving customers... so rude!! Most of the tables were dirty, i reluctantly sat at one & a member of staff came over & before i had chance to stand up he sprayed not only the table but also ME with water / cleaning fluid! The crumbs were brushed onto the floor & that's when i saw the floor, all around me was food all over the floor! they just brush all the crumbs on the floor but don't sweep it up! I sat back down but i didn't want to put my bag on the floor because it was filthy, so i balanced it on my lap & when the table next to me became available I put it on that table.Our meals came over & the lady asked if I wanted ketchup of mayo with my jacket, i asked for salad cream, you don't do salad cream... so i put my fork in my jacket & it was so hard..almost raw! i tried to mush it up best i could with some butter, i took a mouthful & it was cold... if i wasn't starving & needing to be back at work in 15 minutes I would have complained & sent it back, the only positive i have about the whole experience was the salad dressing that comes in a little pot on the plate, that was lovely! i reluctantly ate what was given to me & left about 10 minutes later, as I walked out my partner commented, its dirtier than a school canteen in here! & I agreed! I won't be returning! I expected a lot higher standard from Mark's and Spencers!
