The hotel was lovely however the restaurant was poor - would not recommend. The staff were kind and did take off two portions of fries from the bill due to the problems with the meal. Most of the meals were not hot by the time they got to our table. Two people had the fish dish which they said was very nice however it didn’t come with many potatoes at all. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t really a chicken tikka masala (rather tomato chicken) and a different chicken dish was really quite over cooked.

I came in for a drink and the bar staff were actually the friendliest people I’ve had - attentive, friendly and sociable. Karen was so helpful and lovely. I would definitely come back here again

No chance of drowning. Every time I visit this place the service is very slow and when you eventually get a drink it’s very flat, take advantage of the happy hours as the flat drinks are half price.

The food was awful, had to send 3 sides back to kitchen. Waited over an hour 1/2 before meals arrived, no excuse as there was hardly any other diners in there. A home cook could do better!! However the only redeeming feature was the service staff, they were extremely apologetic and courteous. Waste of money !

I wish to start by saying the staff on duty at the restaurant was lovely. The food I would give an okay, it was not spectacular. The problem started when people out the reastotant would rap on the glass as my partner and I was eating. Once was annoying, the second time we asked if the blinds could be lowered. We were told no, because it would not be part of the restaurant standards. We said okay, but if it happens again we would like to he moved. We managed to complete our meal without further indecent. The next problem did not arise until we came to end out meal and to pay. The Market Kitchen is in the Martiott Hotel and I was led to believe I could charge my meal to my room. When we tried to settle the bill we were told we had not otherwise a card for extras when my partner and I know we had. Luckily, I had cash in my pocket at the time. When the young lady came back with the change, I stated I did not understand the other person's response and if she could find out why I was not permit to put our meals to our room. She came back and stated that the something had not been followed through at the front desk, and I can now charge to my room. A lot of help that is now, that I have given up all my cash to cover diner. This could have been very embarrassing and humiliating, if I had left my wallet in my room as I had planned since we were staying in the hotel for dinner.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. Staff friendly and helpful. Table spacing is excellent allowing you to eat without being overlooked.

Clear to see why it is empty on a Saturday with no local custom. Every dish we had was dreadful. If there is a cook, then he/she has no understanding of a recipe and no taste buds. Tear up your money and go hungry rather than eat here. You'll thank me for it.

What a great place. Good atmosphere and friendly. Three of us had sea bass in prawn sauce and it was delicious. One other had the most enormous roast which apparently was great. Really good Sunday evening menu. Very good value for money. Thanks to staff for an enjoyable time.
