Marina Fish Bar in New Forest

Had an order of 4 portions of fish and chips and 2 pots of curry sauce today, and the fish was cooked to perfection. The chips were so good and the curry sauce was excellent, I would definitely recommend.

Always nice food the staff are very friendly the girl in the mask is absolutely amazing . Always cooked fresh fish. The curry sauce is the best I have ever tasted.

Sorry but will have to say that it is not as good as it used to be. I'm not sure what fish (cod??) they use now but the portions are so thick & chunky, the fish inside had huge thick flakes and quite tough. Two portions of cod but tasted totally different to each other 🤷‍♀️ 3rd time this has happened now. Particularly tonight, not impressed. Had a few mouthfuls but left the rest. Shame as it's not cheap these days.

I gave it a 3 on the atmosphere in the chip shop. As I was the only one in there and no one was talking.

Excellent place to go if you like a sea view in a comfortable restaurant with first class food. Really enjoyed seafood linguine and my husband loved his Brie and bacon omelette. Super place for a lunch stop.

My fish was a little greasy even though it was cooked by Marina herself.

Had cod and chips to share with my hubby as we weren't overly hungry, wished we got larger portion of chips as small was really small.

Shocking size of chips! This was ment to be a medium and large size of chips! I would have complained if I didn’t take the chips home first, very expensive for what we got which is a shame as the chips are lovely!

Greasy oven chips, over cooked tasteless fish, poor portion size, curry sauce was disgusting and not a chip shop curry sauce. Expensive.

I visited here and ordered Plaice and regular chips, and wasn't disappointed with what I received. The food is freshly cooked, but the wait wasn't too long. The fish was massive and very tasty, and the chips were a good portion as well. I enjoyed the whole meal, it is probably the best fish and chips I have had in a while and for what I had was not over priced. If I am back in the area again I will be back.

Chips tasted crispy n greasy , like they were pre cooked then later double dipped. Most disgusting greasy chips I've ever tasted, had to bin them😞 now starving 😩. Would give no stars if i could.

Renting a cottage in Hythe - we normally do one night in a place of fish & chips. These were so good we returned 3 times in a week. Each piece of fish cooked to order - chips firm and fantastic (so many places you get soggy chips)

This is a rare find. Put it on your list of places to visit. The cod was 11/10, absolutely superb, as were the chips, battered sausage and fish cake. And not only that, but fed a family of 3 adults for £16.

This was the first time we have been here and it certainly won't be the last. The queue is there for a reason! The fish and chips were freshly cooked to order. The tasty cod was cooked in a delicious batter and the chips were fluffy and not at all greasy. The portions were generous. A great start to the weekend!

The best fish and chips locally! We only come to marina fish bar now, the portions are good value for money, the curry sauce is delicious. Food is fresh and hot. We recommend to friends when they come to hythe, and great to take to the beach or locally around hythe to watch the boats go by.

Tasty freshly cooked fish and chips for us this evening. However they only take cash, sachets of Ketchup etc are 25p extra and they had no napkins/serviettes...

Food is of good quality, however waiting 30 mins for battered sausage and chips is way too long. There is only 2 staff and they seem to struggle when there a few customers.

Having lived in the area for over a year, today was the first time I fancied a cheeky fish and chips dinner from this place. Can’t say I regret that decision at all.Food is made to order and was very fresh and not greasy in the slightest.Can imagine that the wait can be a bit long when busy but that’s the price you pay for having your food made to order and it would be worth the wait.Lovely food and very reasonable. Great quality fish and chips, good value/price and service. Freshly cooked while you wait. We've had fish and chips here loads of time and quality is consistent. Haven't tried anything else but they have pies, sausages, curry sauce, pickled eggs, fishcakes, etc.

Had this as a Friday night treat while I was over for my best friend's wedding, We had a bit of a wait as there were four groups before us but the advantage of this is that our fish was cooked fresh to order! My friend had eaten from there before and hadn't found it great but he said that this time it was much better than he remembered, the portions are big too!

Marina fish and chips it our weekly Friday night treat! The Marina Fish Bar is a five minute walk from home. How lucky is that? It never fails to please. Rosie always has cod and chips, Brian has scampi or cod. Whatever you choose you can be confident it will be very good.

A modern Chinese couple established this take away a few years ago and are frequently busy .

Nice food but waiting half an hour for a portion of chips and battered sausage??? There are only ever 2 people working here they could really do with more employees as the wait is a tad long.

So maybe you have to wait a little while because the fish is generally cooked to order, though it's no longer than waiting for a pizza to be cooked in the shops next door. It is however well worth the wait, with lovely thick fish and chips that doesn't disappoint.We have a local chip shop in our village, but I'd much rather drive to Hythe to get them from the Marina.

The fish and chips are lovely but it takes an age to get served. Everybody is served in turn so even if you only want chips you have to wait until everyone before you that is waiting for fish to be cooked is served. Very annoying.Wheelchair friendly

For takeaway fish n chips this is the best in the waterside area and pea friiters like tennis balls fresh and moist . Decent chunky cod fillet not greasy ie chips dont stick to the wrapping

My husband and I visited for the first time on a Saturday evening over bank holiday weekend. We wanted fish and chips but from somewhere new so we traveled a few miles away from home to this chip shop so we could eat our dinner looking out over the water.The shop was not overly busy there were a steady stream of customers however from arriving to placing our order and waiting for our food the whole process took 25 minutes. Which is ridiculous, there were only two people working which I assume were the owners and for a bank holiday weekend this was odd. They were not moving at all quickly in fact they were moving about slowly with fish orders and cooking extra chips etc. There were lots of customers standing about waiting for there food, and most of them looked normal like this slow service was normal.When we eventually got our food of one fish and chips and one cone of chips the food was nice as the chips were not at all greasy, however there idea of a large cod is more like a standard size cod which was disappointing. The batter on the fish was nice and there was lots of it and the portion size of the chips were very generous. However with service being so slow I would not return to this shop again.

Following a visit from Weymouth to watch the inaugural sailing of The Harmony Of The Seas from the Hythe Marina, the fresh sea air gave us a ravenous appetite. We ventured into The Marsh in Hythe and found the ultimate gem of a Fish & Chip bar,Marina Fish Bar. Fantastic service and exceptionally high quality food, total value for money!!.

I have been going to this fish bar since it opened a good few years ago and I have never had a bad experience. The service is quick and the food always fresh! The batter is so crispy and the fish is cooked to perfection.I would highly recommend this fish bar!

We have begun to visit the Marina more regularly as it consistently offers good quality meals at very good prices. It seems to always be popular wh9ch is no surprise. There is plenty of parking nearby so your chips are still warm when you get home. Very large portions too.

Simply put this is a fish and chip shop. Serves some of the best F&C in the area along with pies, sausages, savaloy. I can use this place up to 3 times a week on the way home from work late, it's convenient, easy to park, local to where I live, the food is of exceptional quality, large potions of chips and clean. It is run by an oriental couple who take pride in the food, even if it is fish and chips they prepare. I believe they are Chinese but hope I have not offended you if your not. Worth every penny and always open. Shall continue to use this shop..
