Marg's in St. Helens

We tried this place twice and both times the fish was medioca, the peas and curry tasteless and resembled dishwater, staff were miserable and uninviting, the only person who was half decent was the male chef, have just moved into area and would most definitely not recommend, do yourself a favour and go to Newton chippy where you will find better food and definitely better staff, I review regularly and speak the truth, avoid this place

best fish and chip shop around, Marg is a lovley lady and staff are very friendly, food is beautiful

Was in the area didn't even know this chippy existed, last time around here we went to one on knowsley road & ended up not only Ill, but overpriced rubbish to add...So glad we found marg's chippy by chance, we had fish,chips & curry & fish,chips & gravy, fantastic tasting food, excellent size portions & fab price, lady who served was very polite & chippy was nice & clean, will definitely go here again when near 5* recommend

I had fish were cold and the peas and gravy were cold to my food went in the bin not worth the money I never go they again

Had fish and chips for tea, really good food and value. Chips were the nicest I have had in ages. Definitely recommend.

Fish was nice but the chips where cold, some of them not cooked and tasted earthy. Small portions too

Came the Saturday after Christmas. Not been for a while but as good as ever. Everything was cooked to order so took a little while but worth the wait. Great portions and very tasty good value too.

The food is lovely. But I always end up still being hungry. The portions are not very satisfying at all. The kids portions are a handful of chips and the sausages is like a cocktail sausage.

Called in on xmas eve lunch time.fish cooked fresh to order and chips were just as they should be..nice to find a traditional chippy...

Margy The Chippy's owner was Very Rude and Snotty to her customers and The Portions are Very small for the Price and Not Worth the money at all When the Food is Average at most, nicer Chippy's With Nicer Staff -

great chippy hidden away in the back streets. Well worth a visit fish is excellent quality and cooked to order. Was popular on Saints matchday but has survived the move to Langtree Park. Many must be pleased it has.
