Affordable and good range of food options. Staff have been friendly. One observation was, they have good rapport with elderly which indicates genuine care and love. Defo some quality food as I found food non greasy, and standard of coffees and teas (also speciality teas) included in the all day breakfast.

Had a very nice and well priced breakfast. Service was good, food was tasty.

Don't come to this place for a quick bite. I went here and it took me around 45 minutes to get the food on my plate. Also, they were so difficult when I asked for tap water. I asked for water to 2 different staff, 4 times, but none of them came back to me with water.

Hackney seems devoid of Cafe's that open before 10am. Mare street cafe opens at 7.30am and is a great spot to take a break. Good coffee and can recommend their omelettes too.

Nice little place to stop off in the area for a quick snack. Atmosphere is nice and prices quite reasonable.

I was early for work and couldn't access the building I needed. So I had a quick look for a coffee and a small bite to eat and spotted this little cafe. It was fairly quiet for a Monday morning, which was a surprise. I had just a coffee and croissant with cannelloni. Both were fresh and tasted great. The price was reasonable, considering I would have paid almost twice as much at most mainstream brands for a coffee alone.

This is our family’s favourite caff. The staff are so lovely and the food is yummy. My son O wanted me to say that “this place is the BEST and I love it so much. The chips are PERFECT!”

This is a cosy, friendly cafe. I’m new to the area but consider it’s going to be my home from home. There is a wide choice of food, super friendly staff and it’s extremely good on price. Their cappuccino with oat milk is sublime!!!

Very nice meat and vegetarian brunches, and superb coffee. A bit off the beaten track so a good chance of a table even at peak times.

It's a nice local place with great home made food. my Hat off to the people running it- they work hard and are very genuine lovely people. It's clean , straight forward with a small terrace outside. A definite YES over any chain coffeeshops!

Found green mold in my sausage. The staff was really rude about it when i brought that matter up with them. And was quick to blame it on me. WOULD NOT GO THERE AGAIN!!!! I could of ate that and been sick. disgraceful.

Cheap, cheerful and Covid conscious, very friendly waitress, food is straightforward and cheap, pretty nice place to stop for a coffee and work.

Great food, and for an area like Hackney their prices are pretty decent too. If you like the old English cafe food and Turkish dishes too, this place is the one for you. Great variety of tasty food and drinks, sweet and friendly staff members. Highly recommended.

Nice little cafe, nicer than a greasy spoon but they serve those kind of meals at a good price. Chairs aren't very comfy or anything, but the staff is great and the food was very good.
