Went for a birthday meal this evening which as usual was beautiful. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was amazing. Always on point this place, thank you.

Starters were fine, partners main course penne arrabiata was okay. My main tagliatelle pollo was not very nice, made mainly with garlic butter and cream. If you’re looking for 1980 style Italian cooking which is heavily cream based then you will enjoy the menu. If your wanting more traditional Italian cooking which isn’t cream based then I wouldn’t recommend.

Frozen microwaved food. Cancelled mains and went to Kitos up the road. Lovely service but food just not to our taste

A beautiful meal was enjoyed by four of us. We had a range of starters followed by 2 pasta dishes, 1 chicken dish and 1 steak which were all cooked fresh before our eyes by Michael the owner and chef. It's only a small place but the atmosphere is wonderful. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and very popular locally so remember to book ahead.

I haven't been to Marcos for many years, and I'm pleased to say that the quality hasn't declined in that time. The food is really good, decent portions (seriously, I had to pop my top button) and very reasonably priced. The only thing I felt mildly deflated by was the lack of vegetarian options (I was a meat eater when I last ate there). That being said, the food I had was delicious and the rest of my party were equally thrilled with their food. I will certainly come back and eat here again, and maybe I'll wear some elasticated trousers next time.

Our favourite little Italian restaurant that we've used for years, food and staff are excellent and nothing is to much trouble foranyofthem, Michael the owner is an excellent chef and is very happy to have a chat whilst cooking away.

Marcos us THE BEST place to go. Michael always makes us feel special, no matter what. His food is spectacular, and well, Michelle. What can I say. You don't get better insults anywhere. She is soooo much fun. Wouldn't go anywhere else !

First time in here Askrigg I've driven past it many times. Doesn't open every night, it's very small, so you'd need to book in advance. The food was fabulous. We had 6 different dishes between us. All were super tasty and fresh. We shared a bottle of wine, very nice. Staff were very friendly and it was a generally lovely night. Definitely going here again.

servings good sized, simply made, popular with locals, much more English-Italian than authentic Italian in style. House wine not great, but you can bring your own. Reasonably priced and convenient. We tried several chicken main courses which were decent, garlic pizza was at the extreme end of intensely garlicky.

Absolutely love it in here! Been going with the family for a good few years now and can’t fault it for simple, fresh, homemade food! The decor is a little dated but so what, it’s cosy and great value for a mid week evening meal 👌🏼👍🏼

My family have been going to Marco's for over 25 years. Lovely freshly cooked food, very friendly staff and very reasonably priced. It's bring your own wine too. All the dishes are wonderful and there are different sauces you can choose if you have something off the specials board. They will do their best to accommodate any dietary requirements so don't be afraid to ask. It's gets busy so book as early as possible.

Best place I’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend it. This is a once in a lifetime experience that you can experience more than once. If you’ve never been you’re missing out.

Arrived at Marcos at 7 and it was busy, everyone chatty and a lovely atmosphere. We had the prawn cocktail to start which was so tasty, followed by a chicken dish in different sauces. The sides were delicious, homemade chips and vegetables. I have to say even though it was busy we didn't wait long, if you want good food and an intamate atmosphere this is the place. Thank you to Michael the chef and Michelle the waitress, not forgetting Tim for taking me.

A restaurant with a cosy feel, almost felt like those special places you find abroad, a family restaurant but it feels like your in their home. The staff were so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I have to say its one of the most tastiest meals Ive had in a long time. The chief even though he was very busy, made time to say hello to us too. Its clear people go back here time and time again. A little gem that doesn't shout in your face “we’re here” it’s almost a secret between those that know about this place. Make sure you book or you have no chance of a table!

This small restaurant is very friendly but above all serves superb Italian food. We went this latest time with friends who thought their calzone was the best they had ever had. As usual my fife and I had pancakes which are always very good.

We have known Michael a good few years now! The restaurant is small and cosy! The food is always excellent! The steak is to die for and the chips are superb! And the staff are very friendly and take care of you!

Don't be fooled by the frontage. The food is always excellent and the service is friendly and good and it has a 5* food hygiene rating. Never had a bad steak here and had lots. The starters are superb.

El lugar tiene un montón de clientes habituales que siempre volverán, añadiendo a la atmósfera también.La comida es muy genuina y sabrosa, con un precio razonable, debido al tamaño del lugar, definitivamente reservaría con anticipación. Very nice little Italian restaurant situated on chesterfield road Sheffield. It's small but very cosy. The food is great cooked fresh and tasty. Try the crespello pancakes, we both enjoyed a lot! Restaurant has been around for a while and you can see why because of the good food and friendly nice staff. Quite warm though :-) Food did take a while to arrive, but would rather have it cooked fresh then anything else, plus it's not a fast food restaurant. Thank you.

We ate again tonight at Marcos. Steak was excellent cooked just as we asked. Michael is an excellent cook he serves good pasta dishes excellent thin and crispy pizzas. Family’s are always welcomed.

ordered on saturday the 20th of October. Ended up receiving the food on the 27th of October. Had to stay over a few nights but the food was well worth it!

Bueno, estoy de acuerdo en que probablemente tenga razón, ya que todos amamos a Greggs, pero tenemos que decir que este lugar incluso supera a esa institución del norte. ¡Mi compañero y yo hemos estado viniendo aquí por años y nos encanta! Siempre somos bienvenidos de manera amistosa y la comida llega enseguida y cocinada a la perfección. Lo recomendaría muchísimo. Hemos traído amigos y familiares aquí y nunca nos ha decepcionado. El restaurante tiene una decoración italiana del viejo mundo y digo que por favor no lo cambies. Está lleno de encanto y solo se suma a tu experiencia. Venimos todos los vísperas de Navidad y tanto como sea posible en el medio y recomendamos especialmente el bistec.

Brilliant food, good service. It's a small Italian restaurant, just a few tables so book if you want to try it. If you wanted, you can take your own wine. Problem for parking..... You would have to use the "Big tree" pub car park.

Wanting a steak??? Forget Miller and Carter and the others, the steaks here are fantastic, melt in your mouth and cut like butter. The restaurant is small and friendly, the food is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. BYO too.

Estábamos deseando volver a Marco después de una gran experiencia en nuestra visita anterior, y no nos decepcionó. Este es realmente un restaurante italiano familiar "propio". Sí, es pequeño y un poco estrecho, pero eso se suma a la experiencia. Las opciones de menú son amplias y variadas, y ofrecen algo para todos los gustos. Tuve el calzone de marisco, que era muy sabroso, especialmente con salsa adicional. Los precios representan un excelente valor dada la calidad de la comida. ¡Reserve con anticipación si desea comer los viernes o sábados por la noche!

Uncomplicated dishes that take *forever* to arrive. Been to plenty of places that make everything fresh and not had to wait as long as this.

Hemos comido aquí en muchas ocasiones y nunca he tenido una mala comida. Es por eso que seguimos volviendo. Este es el tipo de lugar donde llevas amigos porque sabes que siempre va a ser bueno. Este es un pequeño e íntimo restaurante con un gran menú, nada demasiado para el personal y siempre son muy acogedores. ¡Muy recomendable! ! No hay mucho más que decir aparte de probarlo por ti mismo. ¡También puedes llevar tu propio vino!

22 de nosotros fuimos en una despedida de soltera para una comida que fue pedido. El servicio era muy lento y que también estaban muy apretados. El chef parecía muy desinteresado y la comida era un largo tiempo entre campos, como habíamos reservado el lugar de 6. 00 - 9. 00 pensé que esto hubiera sido un amplio, ya que todos sólo tenía 2 campos y llevamos nuestro propio vino, pero nos empezaron a despejar fuera de la mesa en 8. 45 diciendo que teníamos que poner para la próxima fiesta. El servicio ha tenido más rápido, habría terminado con tiempo suficiente. No es un lugar que recomendaría a pesar de ser muy agradable la comida cuando llegó finalmente

Peor comida que he comido en un restaurante. Sabor, ni siquiera sal cero utilizado como condimento. Además esperamos por más de 2 horas a que llegara nuestra comida, a pesar de pedir con antelación porque éramos un grupo grande y esperar 45 minutos para bebidas llegan a la mesa. No me impresionó mucho. Comida asquerosa, servicio asqueroso, NUNCA regresaré.

Visitamos aquí esta noche, debido a que mucha gente que se había acabado de pizza, pero todo lo demás estaba disponible. Las costillas se derretía en la boca, el solomillos eran para morirse. Vine aquí el año pasado y fue genial. Soy una persona que es divertido con lo que comer, así que sin duda lo recomendaría.

Don't judge this restaurant on the exterior or the deco! Always good food, many visits and always tasty. Sometimes a bit of a wait when busy but friendly staff and BYOB. Pizza's and pasta dishes are great and chicken dishes come with good tasty vegetables.Really...

Nos alojamos en el hotel de al lado como un regalo para el cumpleaños de mi marido. Por favor ver la era la entrada al restaurante estaba en la recepción. Lo habíamos reservado como era sábado por correo electrónico. . de haberlo hecho porque estaba ocupado. Personal encantador y un servicio excelente. A ambos nos gustó la lasaña. Primera visita a un restaurante marco así que probaremos el uno en la ciudad donde vivimos. Altamente recomendado.

Visitamos anoche con mi marido. El servicio era muy bueno, pero la comida no era sabrosa. Nos pareció muy aburrida y no estaba muy bien presentada. Se veía muy apetecible. No vamos de nuevo.

First time here but will definitely be back. We live in Spain and are here for Christmas & New Year. We will be back end of March and will be back to Marco's for certain. Superb food and superb atmosphere. Service is terrific and staff are really welcoming. 5 stars all the way. LOVE THE PLACE. Having eaten Italian in so many different countries it is up there with the BEST. THANK YOU MARCO'S.

Marcos sets itself apart from every other restaurant in the area. The warm feeling you receive just by entering little more than a corner shop style entrance, gives you that hope. Could this cosy but non invasive arena be all that invites you as you are greeted meaningfully and refreshing though it sounds, not stared at by other diners as you park at the table. The truth is the whole world could exist here as far as I'm concerned and if you want smart, powerful and very eatable Italian cuisine you shouldn't go elsewhere. This was the best eating experience ever to be put my way since visiting Sheffield. I could argue it was heaven sent. Ten out of ten.

My daughter has recently moved to Sheffield and when we visited we went to Marco's for dinner on Saturday night. This is a proper Italian restaurant - small, tables close together, great atmosphere, real Italian food, cooked to order. Great tastes, great quality, and real value. My partner said it was the best Penne Primavera she has ever had! They also offer a range of traditional British puds - crumbles, sponge puddings, roly-poly, etc. Not a tiramisu in sight! Absolutely loved it!

In all honesty we haven't been for around 2 years and must get back soon.Beautiful food cooked before your eyes. You're met at the door and the service always feels personal.Always a happy atmosphere at Marco's!
