The meat from this farm shop is fabulous and we regularly eat at their monthly Steak Nights where there is always a great atmosphere and a great choice of steaks, served with a sauce of your choice; fries and a salad. We won’t eat steak anywhere else now. Try the Tomerhawk …. Yum yum

We had our daughter’s Christening reception at March House Farm. The venue was beautiful. The food, drinks, canapés, cocktails and sweets board were just amazing. We had vegetarian and celiac friends attending and they had the same amazing food catered for them. The whole team made sure everything was perfect. The children had a bouncy castle and played all afternoon which meant that the grown ups could also relax. Elegance and quality, with an edge for perfection meant everything was perfect. A huge thank you to all the team. March House Farm has it all, cafe, farm shop relaxed feel with 100 quality.

We'd booked for Sunday lunch for 4 of us and assumed that dogs would be accepted - they weren't inside, but are accepted outside. It was a little cool outside to eat a hot dinner, so Tony [our aging border collie] was happy enough to sleep in the car during lunch. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy and we were a while being served. Lunch was tastey but the meat on the pork dinner was a little mean for the price. On asking for more meat by one diner, the server seemed a little annoyed and ... 20 minutes later 3-4 slices arrived on a plate, but it was too late, as we had finished our meal :o( I then asked for a dessert, which was already pre-made in the fridge at the serving desk - after 20 minutes, our table had not been cleared, and I'd still not received the one dessert ordered. My fellow diner went to check and they just handed one over to her [from the pre-made section near the desk] and she brought it back to me. The food was well cooked, but meat quantity on all 4 dinners was a little mean. Staff virtually ignored us and there was no "is everything ok" enquiry. Staff were seen around the serving desk tidying up bits and pieces without any consideration of what was going on in the restaurant. Whether they were being trained and waiting for instruction from the male server, we're not sure. A disappointing experience for Sunday lunch, but we hope this goes some way to being constructive criticism in points raised above. The butchery department and vegetables in the shop were amazing.

Used to come here quite a bit for lunch. Unfortunately for whatever reason there is no vegetarian lunch option in terms of wrap or sandwich anymore. I appreciate this is a farm so the menu will be meat heavy but not to have a vegetarian option other than one £15 main is poor. I went today and two out of three were vegetarian. We used to be regulars and a few weeks ago mentioned the lack of vegetarian lunch option where they said they’d let the chef know and look to reinstate it. Unfortunately that’s not happened so we won’t be returning nor will the other vegetarian in the group. Chips for a lunch date wouldn’t be my choice. The food has always been tasty though. Shame.

March House Farm has both a shop with a variety of everyday items and a lovely spacious cafe. We picked up some chutney and a jar of preserves along with some pastries from the shop. Everything we purchased was delicious. The staff was very friendly and informative. We did not purchase the pork pies because the pastry has 4 different kinds of oils in it, overall the shop sells quality items, not sure why they are not using a traditional pie recipe as they make the pies in-house. Tip: If your interested in the ingredient list of the pastries simply flip the sign over and they are all listed.

A local foodie site recommended this farm shop and cafe so we thought we would give it a try. A lot of time and money has gone into this venture and it certainly has paid off. A great butchery of own farm produced meat greets you as you walk in followed by a beautifully furnished airy bright cafe. All the food served is produced by the farm. The service and coffee is fantastic. On our first visit I had steak and eggs which was a delight , seasoned and cooked to perfection. I couldn’t resist the full English on the second visit , again an absolute treat. The cafe also serves lighter breakfasts and a fantastic lunch menu too. It will now be our go to place for breakfast and lunch, brilliant

Popped in on way back from Leicester for coffee and lunch! First impressions not good as the assistant in the shop couldn’t even be bothered to give us eye contact or say hello. Poor customer service particularly as there was nobody else in the shop !!! Not hard to tell staff to make an effort and be friendly to customers is it? Cafe was totally different with staff very attentive and friendly. Had sandwich and soup which was ok but expensive for what it was. Experience was average but was hoping for more 🤔

We went to the farm shop. Asked the butcher to debone three chicken thighs he charged £3 more to do that for us. That is very expensive for a job of all of 2 minutes. We put them back on the shelf, ( boned thighs are £15 a kilo) not being ripped off. We had 4 burgers 2 lamb and to beef, couldn’t tell the difference and they set the bbq alight. We had honey and musurd sausages and couldn’t taste either. The free range eggs where delicious.

I happened across the café / restaurant at March House Farm by accident. On my first visit I had coffee and cake but the place is so clean and well lit I had to come back. Today I've sampled the full all day breakfast. Made from their own produce and my goodness it was tasty and VERY filling. The quality of the food was exceptional and lots of it. I had trouble finishing it. I would say that it's the best breakfast that I've had in the area ( actually THE best ) and it's very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and polite, service is quick and food delivery second to none. This is a place that sets a VERY high standard which, in my experience, will be hard for others to achieve. I was served by Lisa, polite, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend March House Farm to anyone and would say that even if you aren't in the area it's well worth driving to.

Sunday lunch at the café. Well where do i start. We had the beef ( yes all4of us) and we'll most definitely be going back to try the lamb. This was probably up there with the best Sunday lunch I've ever had if not the best. Only one in my memory stands comparison. The generous and really thick slices of beautifully tender beef were placed in a large Yorkshire pudding . Red cabbage , tenderstem brocolli and swede and carrot mixed were on the plate along with roast potatoes and we had a large lovely bowl of cauliflower cheese too. It was all perfectly cooked, and the beef was melt in your mouth tender. Add to that lovely attentive staff and the £14.95 for this seemed a bargain. The beef is apparently from their own herd and was stunning. We were really happy with one course but at only £5 extra a pud was in order. Between us we tried wonderful apple pie that really did seem home made, cheesecake and lovely sticky toffee sunday ,and after superb coffees, they had four very happy customers. We all needed a snooze! We'll be back! Oh and the farm shop is superb!

We visited March House Farm on a whim with friends, having visited the farm shop a few weeks earlier. We arrived at lunchtime and there wasn’t a free table, but the lady we spoke to suggested we wait five minutes and she would reserve the next table. Two minutes later we were in as promised. It was a very nice environment, clean, tidy and fresh. The menu was fairly extensive and looked to be good value. Three out of four of us chose the all day breakfast, and the other chose fish and chips. When the food arrived it was beautifully done and very tasty. Knowing that the meat products were from their own farm made it even more authentic, and my other half very much enjoyed the fish and chips too. We had tweaked the breakfasts a little to cut out black pudding and they got the order spot on, aside from my fussy friend’s over-easy fried egg request, which they rectified with a smile. I highly recommend this place for a visit, and don’t forget to have a poke around the farm shop for some goodies afterwards!

Service is very friendly. The restaurant caters for all comers, including mums with young children. It has a really pleasant atmosphere. At the front of the restaurant as you enter the building, there is a very good food hall selling locally produced meat and vegetables, along with the traditional items such as Melton Mowbray pork pies and Stilton Cheese. I understand that the meat comes from the farm itself. That said, whatever its origins, it is of excellent quality.

Turned up, nice room, lots of pleasant staff. Starter duck terrine... ok nothing special, served with a hunk of bread, the compulsory garnish and a small tub of v cold chutney, which was tasted like it’s come out of a jar. Main course, I had pork others had lamb and beef. Veg served in a separate bowl and cauliflower cheese in another. The cauli cheese was just warm not hot, and also quite degenerated in that it was so soft that it felt well overcooked. The pork was not tasty and quite tough, made worse that it was served in a beef gravy !!!!! Roast potatoes were ok. The beef looked ok and the lamb was apparently nice but all had the same gravy. Apple sauce was delivered straight out of the fridge. For the price you get much better value in a number of other establishments in Melton. Shame as the staff are pleasant and it’s a farm shop so you would expect better meat care !

We visited for breakfast last Sunday and were pleased we arrived ahead of the rush at 10am. We all enjoyed the meals we chose; the full English was great, the American pancakes were fluffy and golden and the homemade rosti with ham and fried eggs was enough to keep you going all day. We all felt the hot drinks were only ok and a bit over-priced for what they were and it would have been nice to have the option of fresh juice with breakfast. The cafe is a lovely bright environment, really attractive, but the banquette seating we sat at could really use a good clean. The service was very pleasant. I regularly use the farm shop here and can recommend the meat particularly. Some of the little details detracted a bit from this visit but the quality of the food was a big winner. Orders were taken really efficiently and the food and drinks came out really quickly despite the vast range ordered - every type of coffee available and food from jam on toast through Eggs Benedict to the Full English. At £8.95 for the Full English, was a little more expensive than some places but worth every penny - quite happy to pay the extra for great ingredients. Definitely recommend trying this place out, we'll certainly be back again.

First impressions of the products on sale in here was superb from the deli counter to the fresh fruit and veg and especially the mouth watering cakes! The restaurant itself is very light and airy and there is a very pleasant outside eating area when the weather permits. We were greeted immediately by a very polite member of the serving team and our drinks order taken. We chose from a very extensive menu - chicken tikka wrap, fish and chips and ham eggs and chips. The presentation and the taste were very good indeed and it was hot. We all cleared our plates and said how delicious it was. Home made fillings and lots of it. Great service and value for money. Go here not Subway for a proper sandwich. I hope it stays open this time

Our group of ladies were well treated ( one of us arrived very late and there was no fuss to make us order without her). In fact, service was excellent. We all ate different dishes and all enjoyed our meals. We now think this may also be the Christmas venue for our get- together!
