What an awesome experience! Even though there was a bit of complication with our reservation the manager was kind enough to make our night one to remember. The food was excellent and the party was amazing. Thank you so much for this unforgettable night!

Had really high expectations, unfortunately was really let down. This place is definitely overhyped from social media. The immediate service wasn’t great, didn’t really seem super friendly. The food wasn’t any amazing especially considering the £85pp. The after party / music was very fun however this is something you could get a club for much cheaper. The set menu needs work. Especially for those who don’t drink. None of my group had anything to drink yet we paid full price and were even charged for water which was already on the table when we arrived. You will pay an extra service charge when you arrive, they do tell you this before hand however it really does leave a sour taste when you realise how overpriced this whole experience is.

A very disappointing evening. Crammed like sardines in a venue fit for half the number of people with loud music that made it impossible to speak. We were a large group of 30 people and paid for a set menu at £85pp with nothing included. We were only served 6 dips of each. Portions were tiny. Complete rip off so sad to say. We walked out paying £120pp, a cost equivalent to a dinner at Nobu for a local cafe. I so wanted to support a Palestinian restaurant but sad to say it’s totally not worth it.

Do you want to pay £8.50 for lentil soup, the cheapest thing to make in the world? that would be complimentary in 99% of middle eastern restaurants? Do you want to pay £6.50 for a small bowl of chips (15 inside)? Do you want to pay £6.50 for a baby bowl of plain rice? RICE! the cheapest thing in the world. Do you want to pay £7.50 for a lemon and mint drink? Again, the cheapest ingredients. Do you like to hear the music blasted so you can talk to people next to you? Do you want to pay £20+ for a average main with no sides? Do you like service where you would think it was there first time serving customers? THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! Save your time and money and go El-Enam in Acton. You can thank me later.

Hemos estado en el encantador Maramia Café en Golbourne Road un par de veces cuando visita Londres. Hoy fuimos al café recién inaugurado en Portobello Road. Es el mismo menú, un poco más contemporáneo y la comida era simplemente celestial. No puedo agradecer lo suficiente al equipo por cuidarnos tan bien en medio de las prisas prenavideñas en Portobello Rd. La comida es muy buena tuvimos 3 mezze, compartimos una parrilla mixta y tuvimos té de menta. Nunca podría recomendar este lugar lo suficientemente alto, es maravilloso. Grandes sabores.

Llegamos y nos dieron instrucciones de sentarse fuera. Lo que asumimos sería cenar al aire libre de gama media a alta teniendo en cuenta el precio, esto estaba lejos de la verdad. La zona exterior no estaba adecuadamente cubierta. El clima no ayudó ya que hacía viento, pero esto no excusó el hecho de que tuvimos que luchar contra los elementos mientras estábamos sentados en la mesa del comedor. El viento sopló el caparazón protector de la zona exterior sobre la mesa, exponiendo a nuestra fiesta a los elementos exteriores. Un amigo y yo éramos los dos corderos sacrificiales sentados en los dos asientos más afectados por el viento y la lluvia. Planteé preocupaciones de inmediato con el personal y cualquier solicitud de mover las mesas o arreglar el refugio para que no dejara que entrara viento o lluvia en el área de comer fue ignorada. Como no ofrecieron mover las mesas, solicité un descuento para los asientos y mesas más afectadas. Esto también fue ignorado. No solo eso, sino que al final se incluyó una tasa de servicio del 15 %, que nos pareció impresionante teniendo en cuenta la falta de compromiso del personal y los gerentes teniendo en cuenta las circunstancias. Pagamos 75 libras cada uno y éramos una fiesta de 18 personas. Nos quitaron 1 libra, 350 más 202 libras. 50 cargos por servicio por debajo de la comida y un ambiente diabólico empeorado por el personal desconsiderado. Basándonos en nuestra experiencia, este negocio solo parece tener éxito debido al marketing en redes sociales y los precios con los que pueden salirse con la suya en Portobello Road.

We recently visited Maramia 2 to host a surprise birthday party for our cousin, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. When we called ahead, we were told there was no availability at Maramia 1, but Maramia 2 was exactly the same. We were also informed that the minimum spend was £55 per person, but due to the "busy" nature of the evening, they insisted on either an £85 set menu or £65 per person minimum spend, which we reluctantly agreed to. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that our table was located outside, enclosed with a plastic cover. At no point were we informed that we would be seated in such a setting. One of our guests was pregnant, and several others were wearing skirts, so eating outside in the cold was uncomfortable, to say the least. We were then told we could move downstairs for the entertainment, only to find that the area was occupied for a private engagement—something the staff initially denied. There were no tables available, unlike Maramia 1, which has tables and chairs where guests can sit and enjoy the music and atmosphere. The crowd was unbalanced, and it was difficult to move around. When we raised our concerns with the owner, we were told we didn’t need to pay for anything else, even though we had already paid for nearly everything, and most of our meal was forced by the minimum spend requirement. We ended up having no entertainment or birthday celebration, which was disappointing. This experience has left us frustrated and disheartened. You really need to rethink how you handle customer expectations and experiences—this approach will likely harm your reputation in the long run. We were expecting much more for what we paid, and unfortunately, this will not be a memorable occasion in the way we had hoped.

Service was horrible, the restaurant was empty and yet they made us sit on a small table in the corner even though we were three and we ordered a lot of food. The food was not nice and really small portions in comparison to its price.

Came to try Palestinian cuisine with my husband, seemed like a lack of waiting staff but regardless of that the girl there was really attentive and quick to take the order so it wasn’t a problem. For starters we ordered fattoush, Arayes , garlic sauce and bread, although the starters did take a little bit to come it wasn’t a problem as the food was deliciously made and authentic. For the main we ordered chicken mousakhan and it was enough to share between two and the value for money was great when it came to that. For desserts we had basboussa (again to share) and herbal tea. There was no kunafa available which I was eager to try but in sha Allah next time. Over the course of my meal I ordered lemonade more than once as it was quick to finish, so I think that mostly contributed to the heavy price at the end as it was £7.50 for one. Overall we spent over 100£ but no more than £115. It is relatively pricey, but the quality of the food was very good but still out of my usual price range for the quantity of food we received. However, I do not have anything directly negative to say and the atmosphere was very calm and welcoming (the restaurant was dimly lit which I enjoyed). I also came at 6/7pm so this was before it gets very busy (which is what I prefer. Overall I am happy I visited and would come again the future

Empezaré con lo bueno. Porque no me llevará mucho tiempo. El ambiente y el ambiente son fantásticos, la comida genial, excelente música. Pero este restaurante es una estafa. Cobran un depósito para reservar tu plaza un sábado. Justo. Aconsejan que un depósito asegurará su lugar, se le dijo el día anterior que a pesar de haber reservado esto para un cumpleaños y pagado el depósito unas semanas antes - que no tenían mesa para nosotros porque no tenía texto. Esto no era parte de sus directrices. Recibí una llamada agresiva, admito que de ambos lados porque sentí que estaban felices de aceptar nuestro depósito de £ 80, pero luego no cumplir con su compromiso de asegurarnos una mesa. Estaba decepcionado. Justamente a ellos, me encontraron una mesa y nos apretaron en la que aprecié y me ofrecieron 4 cócteles de cortesía por el error. Esperan hasta que todos estén borrachos para entregar la factura. 1 . No eliminaron el depósito de £ 80 del total de la factura y nos cobraron dos veces. 2 . Nos cobraron £ 30 solo porque era un cumpleaños, y supongo que porque tenían que sentar un pastel en su cuarto trasero durante una hora. Bastante inconveniente evidentemente. 3 . Los cócteles no eran de cortesía. Nos cobraron por cada uno de ellos. 4 . La factura llegó a casi 600 libras. Para cuatro de nosotros. Con un precio por cabeza de 85 £. Tomamos dos rondas de cócteles (uno supuestamente gratis) y una botella de vino. Haz los cálculos. No puedo evitar pensar que todo esto fue intencional basado en nuestra interacción original, que para mí es simplemente incorrecta y una estafa, por lo tanto, escribo esta reseña. Honestamente nos divertimos mucho allí - es una pena que decidieran aprovecharse de nosotros. Mantén tus carteras cuando estés ahí.

10/10!! My favorite middle eastern (PALESTINIAN) spot in London. The food is divine, the Palestinian beer is such a treat, and the hospitality is unmatched. Best staff! So kind that I felt my Palestinian Grandmothers presence. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The food was great—the maftool may not have been entirely authentic, but it was delicious nonetheless. However, our waitress was dismissive and lacked warmth and friendliness with us, even though she appeared attentive to other tables (including the one right next to us).

Music way too loud and inappropriate wants to be a nightclub when it’s meant to be a relaxing atmosphere , didn’t enjoy it as a result

our visit to maramia was wonderful it truly felt like a taste of home as a palestinians. latifa was incredibly welcoming and made the experience even more special by offering us tea and baklava on the house. the food was authentic and delicious, but the only downside was a table of seven girls nearby who were so loud we could hardly hear ourselves think. despite that, the cozy atmosphere and latifa’s kindness made it a memorable evening

As a Palestinian I was excited to try Maramia Cafe, I went to it last night, the motabal was spot on, fattoush and maftool were a little disappointing, Maftool is hand rolled wheat balls that are traditional and hand rolled however what we had yesterday was couscous not maftool it’s semolina whereas maftool isn’t made with semolina. However, we received excellent & lovely service from Latifa, she was very much latifa (nice), the atmosphere of the cafe is nice. We also enjoyed a glass of Nadim Rose.

La comida era deliciosa, siempre servida con una sonrisa y al final de la noche, una vez despejada la comida, la gente estaba disfrutando de música auténtica y bailando en las mesas. El personal nos hizo sentir tan bienvenidos, que es una rareza en Londres en estos días. Disfrutamos de la mejor comida y bailamos toda la noche. Gritaré por este lugar desde los tejados.

Booked this amazing Palestinian restaurant with my work colleagues, and every single one of us loved it. I had people thanking me for finding this place, but really all the thanks should go to this amazing hidden gem and our wonderful waitress who was friendly, attentive and even brought us free teas and baklava at the end. We loved our food, I ordered the hummus and moutabal for starters, this was so lovely and one of the best moutabals I’ve ever had! For mains, I had falastini minced lamb kebab and the half chicken grill, it was amazing! The chicken was so tender and full of flavour and the lamb was succulent and juicy. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, it’s traditional, great value for money and a lovely warm environment. I hope more people get to try their amazing food, and support a Palestinian business! I had a major Instagram vs. reality moment here. They completely misrepresented the Palestine cuisine; most of the menu items were unavailable, and some had to be ordered three days in advance. The place was tiny, worn out, and not in a charming way. On a positive note, the server was friendly. I'm writing this review because they still thought it would be appropriate to ask for one :)

I recently visited this place for a friend's birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The music was frequently interrupted and consisted of repetitive selections, which took away from the ambiance. Additionally, the staff seemed overly eager to clear plates, often attempting to take them while we were still eating, even after we politely requested to finish our food. This made the service feel intrusive and, at times, rude. The interiors felt cramped, and, overall, the quality of the experience didn't align with the pricing mind that almost everything counts as “extra”. The food is average and you can have much better middle eastern food at better prices elsewhere in london. I won’t be visiting ever again and I do not recommend this place.

Seems like a scam restaurant, trying to charge people with deposit and “full seat” even if just one person is missing from the table! AVOID THIS SCAM RESTAURANT. What does a full seat even mean?? I can come there and have a salad and only spend £18, why would you charge me £85?? This is not Michelin star. Also it’s not set on your terms and conditions. How about I pop with the police there and we see if it’s legal to charge clients this enormous fee?? AND ARE YOU DECLARING YOUR TAXES?? I’d like to know! Maybe I’ll pop there and make sure I come with the police to shut it down. Kind regards.

Miramia Café is a charming, cozy spot perfect for anyone looking to enjoy Palestinian cuisine with a unique twist. The space is quite tight, adding to its intimate and welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights of this café is that around 10 or 10:30 PM, the doors close, and the place transforms into a lively scene with loud music that's great for dancing. However, one downside is the minimum spend requirement of 80 pounds per person. Our group managed to negotiate it down to 50 pounds, but I still feel this policy is a bit restrictive and could deter some potential patrons. In my opinion, doing away with the minimum charge would make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Miramia Café offers a delightful dining experience with excellent food and a fun late-night vibe. Just be prepared for the minimum spend rule.

This place is one of the best dining experiences I have had in years. Firstly, the food was delicious and authentic, everything came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. The meat and chicken especially were juicy and flavourful. The knafeh was also very good and I would recommend it! The interior of the restaurant is cosy, warm, tasteful, and authentically Palestinian. The dinner is by candlelight and there is a fun party like atmosphere, with good music playing and fun, lively staff. The staff were all very attentive, polite, and helped create the perfect atmosphere. We had a great time and we will definitely be returning!

My husband and I missed visiting Maramia on our first trip to London, so made it a priority to eat there the next time. The menu itself is impressive and feels authentic. It was so hard to decide what we wanted to eat, but settled on the Gaza Salad, batatas harra, arayes and haloumi. The salad was the most delicious part of the meal, and came out with a huge basket of warm flatbread with za’atar. Delicious creamy dill flavour, and went well with the potatoes which were my husband’s favourite. We also devoured the arayes which were super flavoursome, and the haloumi was delightful. Amazing service and a great outdoor space for a warm day. We are dreaming of our next visit, and فلسطين حرة

Perfect dinner&dance restaurant for a fun night out! I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday here and I could not have found a better place for it. This charming little restaurant serves a wide range of delicious Middle-Eastern foods, from smooth dips to flavourful grills and stews. The menu works great for a sharing-food concept and I particularly enjoyed that I could order ahead and have the dinner promptly served when we arrived. The lamb chops were, according to my friends, the best they ever had. Once the food service ended, the real gem of this place came to light - the party! The tables are cleared and the dancing begins. Be prepared to immerse yourself in oriental rhythms and party classics, the place brings the vibes like no other. You’ll be dancing like no one is watching and wish the night does not end. At least I wished it didn’t! If you’re looking for mouthwatering food and cannot-sit-down-and-miss-this song vibes, this is the place. PS. The staff are lovely and they have been very helpful over the phone to help me organise a great night out for me and my friends.

Haifa was very kind in helping me to organise food for an event on short notice. First of all the food was exquisite! Like unbelievably good! Every, single, dish. The level of service was outstanding and unmatched by any other restaurant I have experienced. Hats of to Haifa and her team for not only delivering beautiful service from the heart but with a product that is just so damn delicious, you just can’t go wrong!!! Bless you all. A must go to place. I have been before on week days when it’s more quite if you like an intimate dinner and then I choose to celebrate my birthday here with a group of friends in support of Palestinian businesses and honestly it was the best idea ever. We all had such a great time, food was so authentic, the staff has been helpful throughout the booking and service during the evening, always available and even accommodating with my music choices. Overall I would 100% recommend it especially on weekends if you like music and fabulous vibe.

Fun vibes and great atmosphere. Friendly service and responsive from booking to the end of the diner. You go there to have a fun night out dancing in the restaurant. They know how to create the ambiance and move the mood from diner to party and bring the whole room together as one which makes each night special, convivial and non pretentious as well! Food is good and portions are generous.

DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE VIDEOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Yes, you will dance for an hour on tables and post it on social media but this one hour is not worth their set menue at a staggering 105£ on weekends. The food was just so out of taste, it was cold and dull, they were stingy and extremely poorly presented. The service was just HORRENDOUS. They were just so out of touch with reality. The alcohol pricing is ridiculous (1L of Arak at 205£ 😂) when it cost 13$ in Lebanon 😭. NEVER AGAIN. The owner is the brother of the ambassador of Palestine. What a shame to use the palestinien suffering to promote the restaurant

We were craving some good Palestinian food and Maramia didn't disappoint. The service was great and the food was wonderful. The sea bass with the rice was probably my favourite and it's the knefeh was lovely.

My friend suggested this spot for some authentic Palestinian food on a gloomy London day and it was lovely change to our day. The food was top notch, super hot and flavorful which is rare to find. Maramia Restaurant: A Disastrous Dining Experience" Our family's visit to Maramia Restaurant for breaking our fast turned into a nightmarish ordeal that I must share to warn others. We arrived with hungry children, anticipating a pleasant meal, but what followed was a cascade of incompetence and mistreatment. After placing our food order, we patiently waited for an hour and a half, only to be informed that our order hadn't been processed at all. The lack of basic organization was shocking and disappointing. Despite our frustration and desire to leave, the restaurant staff insisted we stay, assuring us that the bill would be waived as an apology for their error. Reluctantly, we agreed to give them another chance. Another agonizing hour passed before our food began to arrive, but what came to our table was far from satisfactory. The dishes were poorly prepared, lacking in flavor, and some were barely edible. It was evident that the kitchen was in chaos, unable to handle even the simplest of orders. As we prepared to depart, hoping to put the nightmare behind us, we discovered that the owner had vanished. Instead, the waiters confronted us, demanding full payment or threatening to involve the police. To add insult to injury, we discovered that the restaurant had illegally charged VAT twice on the final bill, further adding to our frustration and sense of being taken advantage of. Our experience at Maramia Restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. From the initial incompetence to the mistreatment and illegal billing practices, this establishment has shown a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and ethical business practices. I went for lunch and had to wait 30 minutes for the food to arrive. I ended up paying £15 for 3 sausages and a bowl of rice. The food was good but definitely not worth it :/

The best service and lovely atmosphere!!

I arrived at the restaurant for an early supper with my 16 year old kid. Our first dining experience together after a rough move into the area. I had tried the food on a prior visit and knew my kid would love any cuisine connected to our maternal side of family. Especially that she doesn’t get to meet them much. The staff were incredibly nice to us including the guy at the door. They practically bent over backwards to get us indoor seating whilst pre-booking is required, it didn’t work out but it was very much appreciated ✊🏻. We sat outdoors, great weather, tasty starters, it seemed like a very successful evening up until I noticed a guy in a white shirt taking videos of guests I assumed to be posted online. I asked the guy by the door to respectfully tell the guy In the white shirt (who turned out to be the owner) that we don’t wish to be posted on social media or online in general, next thing I knew the owner came charging at us and despite my please don’t chop my head off smile, he questioned in an interrogatory manner ‘‘Who are you???’’ multiple times, as his tone elevated gradually each time separated by an awkward silence and his beady eyes (kid stopped chewing), then dramatically pointed his index finger to the sky and aggressively stated “This is a Palestinian restaurant!!!!!!” Insinuating that we should be honoured to be posted online at his restaurant. (Ironically the Freedom of Palestine, and it’s Just cause was never at question in our heart body and soul here) (the Drama Queen just wanted his egoistic scenario to be true) At first I felt the urge to share my lineage.. then explain the rule my Father made for his offspring not to be take to a life posting their whole existence on social media; and that I shall respect his word until the End of time, Arab to Arab he’ll 100% understand (all in one breath), but his Machiavellian situ didn’t help. So I deferred to traditional reasons, and offered to use the plant next to me as camouflage if he wishes to retake a video. He replied “Your Right” and even showed me the deletion of the video, he retook the video but while shouting “Hide” multiple times in a derogatory manner, still I wasn’t ready to Judge, but when he walked across to his acquaintance sitting at the table next to us and stated very loudly “على صرمايتي” = “Over my shoe” and "آخر همي" = "least of my worries”. Very prominent Arabic insults. I intensely Judged him. Kid’s face dropped, appetite gone with the wind, and anger broiled within me (I never felt like transforming into Smaug so much in my life). Had kid not been there I would’ve told him that “الاحرار" =free people don’t behave like a ; صرماية = a shoe, especially when a minor is present, (and possibly threw my shoe at him) but my Mother’s instincts concluded crazy eyes here is looking for trouble. So I chose the amicable way, to leave with my head held high (after paying the full bill ofcourse).. (without waiting for the main course).. but in an Amicable manner at least , gracefully. Reviewers, the food was great I shan’t lie but if you decide to dine there despite the owner’s absolute insolence, avoid him at all cost, he seems like the type that will spit in your food if you unintentionally hurt his ego, God be with you if you decide on intentional. And to the great staff.. with a very heavy heart I say … run. 👋🏻 Salam
