Solo business man staying at the nearby travelodge, food was really good, service excellent and prices reasonable. It's my 2nd visit here, I wouldn't go anywhere else ! Sorry no food photos, I'd ate it all !

No one was at the reception, we have to wait about 10 minutes , the food was below average and my sausage was not cooked properly... disaster choice!!! Will definitely not go again...

The service was pleasant, though the setting left much to be desired as we were seated alone in a mouldy room downstairs. I ordered the chef’s ‘luxurious special’ vegetarian korma, which was supposed to come with dried fruits. However, what I received was far from the description — the dish included frozen vegetables and a tin of fruit cocktail, with no dried fruits in sight. Disappointing, especially considering the high price.

First time Indian food in Bath...Generally I only eat Indian food in London...Compared.to the authentic flavours, style and standards I am used to, ..the cooking here I would rate.a 1 out of 10... This is a westernised take on eastern cuisine at best..Samosas were soft as.if they had been stored for ages and only a vegetable paste used in the centre making them stodgy..The chicken Tikka Massalla was laughable..it literally tasted just like an English tomato soup...rice was stodgy and sticky..this is the same for naan bread and as for the jalfrezi...well..I don't know what it was but it wasn't a jalfrezi..just a spicy tame mess!...Best bit of the food was the chocolates at the end!... Service was very slow..but this was because it seemed busy with takeaways and diners... The restaurant was cold as we were seated near the door which kept opening.. If I wasn't with someone who doesn't like to complain and make a fuss I wouldn't have paid the full price for the meal...I felt ripped off and couldn't rush out fast enough!. If this is the best Bath has to offer there is a huge gap in the market here for proper curries to be served...If this is the style bath likes....well..it certainly isn't for my palette... Sorry..severely not for me!...Can I be refunded please!!

delicious food!! we got takeout from uber eats and got the naan the rice, lamb madras, and chicken Passada! The madras was definitely a HIT, soooo good!! will definitely reorder

We waited over 2 hours for food that was estimated 15 minuets to half an hour we were unable to find out what was happening the restaurant was ignoring all of our calls and I even tried reaching them though Deliveroo calling them and they still did not reply. The driver seemed very smug when he arrived and did not apologise in anyway. On top of that I revived an incorrect dish a plain naan which was really disappointing especially considering it was labelled as chilli naan so I am disappointed and also feel very sorry for the person who received it instead of a plain naan because that’ll be a nasty shock. Food itself was meh best thing was the popadoms and dips.

We went there for a late night dinner and the food was absolutely delicious, felt like home cooked food away from home. We had the lamb dousa which came with two delicious sauces, and also the Kashmiri lamb Rogan Josh which was very tender and aromatic. The sauce had a great depth of flavour. Every other dish that we had was made to a high standard. We also appreciate the service and the chef!

Food here was outstanding, everything was freshly made, spicing was balanced and flavourful. Would recommend to anyone that loves a good curry.

The food is good. But if you order delivery it’s an absolute joke. I’ve waited nearly 2hrs for a previous delivery, no updates and if you call, you get the reply it’s on its way. It isn’t and takes much longer. I’m currently waiting for a delivery and it’s currently over an hour late. It’s not acceptable. If you know you’re busy and you can’t keep to the delivery times you are recommending, then don’t take the order. So frustrating after a long day at work.

My family and I were at the Mantra restaurant on September 28, 2024. The service was great, atmosphere very nice, but the most important box did not check at all. My family and I were trying to get a warm meal after traveling for approximately 48 hours. We arrived at the time the restaurant was going to close, though there were plenty of people still eating dinner. I also know that we were arrived at approximately 8:30pm, their website reads (10:00pm) closing time. We were informed they were closing early on that day, however, the waiter suggested take out. I thought it was a great option, and we waited anxiously for the delicious dinner to be prepared. Once we received our bagged dinner, we rushed to our rental spot and started to open the containers they gave us. I ordered the veggie biriyani, lentil soup, the other family members ordered chicken biriyani, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The veggie biriyani was inedible, the potatoes smelled like they have been left out for a long time. On the chicken dishes, the chicken had a pink color to it which also made it inedible, they did not pack the garlic naan. We were charged over 50.00 for he “take out” dinner, and we didn’t have a chance to go back due to our tight schedule. All in all, the entire meal was not a good experience. I really wanted to love the restaurant but, I guess it was not in the cards.

Very disappointed for our delivery to take over 2 hours. Our children had to eat a lukewarm curry at 9.50pm. We were told the order would arrive by 8.30, then continually phoned and no one answered until 9.45pm. Poor customer service

I’ve just visited Mantra and eaten one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. I’ve never had a biriani like it (I suspect because this one is authentic), the saag paneer was creamy and yummy, even the naan was way above the ordinary. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are friendly and the food is amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

how can restaurant be so un organised that i've called them 87 times and they did not pick up. I've been outside in the cold for two hours and man I don't want to waste my money if they arrive as soon as i leave. I'm so disappointed and frustrated

Nice restaurant with amazing views from the covered terrace. The samosa and keema were both amazing and the staff was very nice. The pani puri martini was hands down the best part of the meal. Such a tasty, innovative take on a martini. Loved it!

The quality of food was not good. Watery consistency for dhal, taste is also not great. Saag dish was black, taste also not great. Naan bread felt doughy and not cooked properly. Will not be ordering from here again.

I was craving authentic Indian food today with my sister, who just arrived in the UK yesterday, and we found this amazing place. Hands down, the food was really good, and the drinks were great too. We met a guy named Kunal, who was very friendly and gave us excellent service. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Opted for take away Food was really subpar. Daal was sour- yes, this means daal was stale. Bread was way too thick. I guess not visiting ever again.

Fantastic food, great value, excellent service

Delivery times seem consistently longer than is reasonable. Almost an hour and a half last week, almost two hours this week, and still not arrived. Generally, if you order a takeaway, it's because you're hungry, have had a long day, and don't particularly feel like cooking that evening. A 1.5h long wait is sure to make that day a bit worse. Just really need to sort the delivery times out. A chase seems to get the customary "it's just left". This seems to be quite a common response. Takeaways seemingly leaving left right and centre but not quite long ago enough for it to arrive.

The food was much spicier than anticipated; which younger members of the family did not enjoy. Even the pilaf rice was spicy. I bought a tandoori chicken as I thought the family would like something simple: portions of it were undercooked .

Lovely little independent restaurant with beautiful views from the terrace. We had an amazing breakfast. The omelette was lovely and spicy. The kids enjoyed their cheesy omelettes. Will definitely return.

This was orderes at 20.15. Arrived at 22.00 after 2 chasing calls. They never called me to say there was a problem. The food was lousy. Luke warm. I had 5 prawns in my korma the rest was a watery sauce. Deeply disappointing and they were very unapolo

Amazing restaurant. We had paneer makhni and chicken jalfrezi with Naan and both were excellent We also had the Veg starters platter which was superb especially the Onion Bhaji Would highly recommend eating here Its also one of the few places in Bath which is open late for dining

I have no issues with the food. It was delicious. The service absolutely brought the overall rating down for me. It took forever for the food to come, especially when there were very few customers in the restaurant. I had to get cutlery from elsewhere because I didn't have it when I sat down, and then there were more issues when the food came. One of my parties rice was missing, and it took forever to come out. I ordered coconut rice, which the server recounted when I got the food, but then I was surprised when I bit into a chilli that was in my rice. Never going there again, especially when the server looked so disinterested.

Very very sub-par kind of experience. The masala in the masala dosa was definitely more than a day old, atleast!. Onion bhajis were okay. Definitely not worth what they are charging. The least you could is serve fresh food. The interior is not even clean, the entire ground floor is filthy. Hasn’t seen a hover for atleast 2 weeks. Never again!

We had a lovely dinner! We walked in without a booking, seated quickly in the garden. Members of staff were very kind and attentive. Food was a bit on the spicy side for Dan, but really, what do you expect from an Indian restaurant? All very tasty, and came out the kitchen speedily. Thanks Mantra!

Delicious food! Would recommend! We loved the food we had, picked random main dishes which was good and not so good, very tasty but very spicy. Could do with a bit of a description in the menu. The staff were very nice keeping us updated as to the wait for food, however there didn't appear to be a system in place for who is dealing with which table. There was a bit of a wait for food to come through, which wasn't an issue for us, but it did seem they were doing a fair few takeaways which is good for their business (obviously good food) but a shame for people in the restaurant.

This is a little gem of a place. The food is outstanding the service is excellent and the view from their balcony on a sunny day is lovely.

Food was cold. Chicken tikka masala was terrible. Bombay agaloo non edible. Usually our go to favourite take away. Tonight it went in the bin. Is there new managment or chef??? Never know anything so bad. No contact when asked why it was late. No one

Absolutely under no circumstances should you order from this restaurant. Uber eats claimed 25 minutes delivery, more like 65+ minutes. Called the restaurant only to be told they were 5 minutes away, which then led to me waiting over 30 mins with no further calls answered by the shop. Order is missing the drinks, and the food is cold.

We really loved Mantra. The food was delicious; full of flavour and the spice was just right. The service was excellent and the view was lovely. Highly recommend.

1hr 40 min LATE (+45). Used the app after 30 mins. No reply. Prompted me to call at 45mins late. 6 rings and I was told that they bundled my order with others that were “in my area”. Tried again after the next 1.5hrs late. Food was cold and tasteless. My son was asleep when it eventually arrived having selected Indian as his treat for a hard week. 0 star.

Had a wonderful meal here with my fiance while on holiday. The waiter was very attentive and made great recommendations. My favorite was the Lamb Rogan Josh. Perfect spice. I would definately be back again if I lived nearby. I also loved the outdoor dining.

Mantra has a great ambience and solid service/location and desires to be great, but we found the food to be less than middling, unfortunately. We ordered several dishes and everything was basic in taste and appeared to lack authentic Indian taste. The masala dosa was quite small; the chana masala is a hard dish to mess up but they managed to do that; the hyderabadi chicken tasted sweetish; and more. Enough said.

We visited the restaurant during our stay in Bath. The restaurant felt dusty and unkempt. Food was basic and lacked taste. We had papad and chutney followed by fish. Our main course was naan, Hyderabad chicken curry, cholle, rice and daal. The daal had too much haldi, the chicken was slightly sweet, the cholle were strong tasting. Nothing felt tasty or enjoyable. Overall a poor experience!

Incredible food, best curry I’ve had in a long time (if not ever)! I tried the chicken dosa for the first time and it was phenomenal, highly recommend. Will definitely come here again next time we’re in Bath!
