Wish Id gone here a few days ago on my first visit to porthcawl when I fancied fish and chips. The staff even offered us a complimentary cuppa whilst our fish was cooking. Had a lovely curry sauce to. This is what a fush in batter size should be. Price was brilliant and staff were so friendly. Id say this is the best Chippy in porthcawl.

The service was so prompt, staff are lovey, food was absolutely delicious. Hard to find a good chippy , it’s the only plaice for us now. Fish was perfect and the prices are so fare compared to other local chippys. Thank you 👌 Neil T

Amazing Gluten free fish and chips - loads of GF items on the menu and always cooked fresh with no weird attitudes 👌 Can be very busy on a Friday or Saturday late afternoon which can result in some stressed staff, but they’re always friendly. On less busy days they’ll sometimes give a hot cup of tea or coffee while you wait. Generous portion sizes. Best GF batter around.

Recommended to us, so we thought we'd try it out, and happy we did. Great customer service, fish freshly cooked on arrival and lovely chips. A little quiet as it's out if season here, but nevertheless highly recommend. Keep up the great work guys

Good food however the attitude of the older lady on the counter put things to shame. Never encountered such a misrable person when it comes to customer service. Should of went across the road and paid extra

Gluten Free!! I had a delicious gluten free fish and chips here today and there is an excellent selection of more GF goodies for next time. I was also given a complimentary cup of tea while waiting for my food to cook. Location is perfect for enjoying lunch/dinner on the beach. Staff are lovely and always very friendly. It's the best chippie for miles.

On holiday with the family at Trecco Bay, my wife is Coeliac so we were looking for a chip shop that served Gluten Free food. The food was lovely, well cooked, fresh and crispy. Furthermore it was the staff that cheered me up from feeling low on such a dismal October evening, in particular Angel's singing ! Keep it up 😂

Roadside chippy with a few parking spaces in the road outside and a few tables with chairs outside. With good chips and cheerful service it's a good stop off after walking the dogs on the beach.

Always call here when in porthcawl the food is always nice way better than Beals Mansels for me every time.....

Fish was amazing. Chips were OK. Some had the pealing on and some had tough skins.

Basic pub classic menu reasonably priced with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a favourite watering hole for many people who visit this area with its beautiful views and very local campsites. It's only a short walk along the coastal path through the tunnels from saundersfoot passing copithall beach and cafe on route

The chips were wonderful, and the sausages cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit, and the prices are far too

Always have lovely, fresh cooked food from here. A big range on offer and very quick service (has two serving stations). There is outdoor seating available for customers. Delicious and relatively good prices. If you visit Porthcawl and fancy take away chippy, grab it from here!

Just had fish and chips. Lovely piece of cod and dry crispy batter. Chips were really nice too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Don't be put off if the tables outside are full as there is a park with lots of benches nearby.

This is the place for fish n chips if you are visiting Porthcawl. We needed our fish and chips fried separately, so we were provided with a gluten-free option. The fish n chips were just awesome. Tasting is believing...

Loved the fish and chips, but a little expensive for the portion. The sauces were weak, that’s the only other negative thing. The queue was long, which is an indicator that it must be good.

Best chips I ever had and reasonable prices not like some place in porthcawl I’ve seen a pie on its own coating £5.49 and that’s without chips lol great friendly girls serving and very quick too

Was lovely food had sausage in batter which was cooked lovely. Really tasty Irish curry and chips which was good to just a little bit on the white side. But it didn't seem to spoil my meal.

Nom Nom! Very yummy! They cook the chips and fish seperately to sausages so it's suitable for halal and pescatarian diets. Excellent!

The service we had on this visit was really great, even served us with a free cup of tea while we waited for our food, the staff are friendly and above all the price is very good, food was tastey and not so greasy, well recommended to have food from.

If you like to eat outdoors there are tables ...the food is freshly cooked while you wait and of excellent quality l found the prices were cheaper than other establishments in the local area ...l had my favourite fish and chips with a curry sauce it was perfect...give it a try

Our go to whenever going for a walk on the beach. Foods always nice and for the area quite good value.

Fresh and made to order fish and chips. Lovely taste no issues whatsoever. Only downside was the service The lady serving us was not nice and friendly…. So didn’t really enjoy the experience talking to a unpleasant employee of Mansel’s Chippy.

Really friendly staff and my niece has celiacs and they do an amazing gluten free fish and chips with gf vinegar 😋 she was over the moon 👍🏼 and way way cheeper than the other chip shops in the area...... great value. Would highly recommend.

Rushed and harassed to give my order a bit difficult with two small kids, won't visit again. I thought a young woman would be more understanding.

Freshly cooked food to order. Delicious cod cooked in crispy golden batter accompanied with chips and a tasty traditional curry sauce. Good quality sausages encased in golden batter and covered in rich gravy,served with hot chips. A true culinary delight. Great for all the family. 😊🌟

We have returned to here because they do a gluten free menu. Bit of a dull cold day. Although no chairs and table out for people to sit. They got them out just for us to sit and eat. Lovely staff, always a smile on their faces. Gluten free meals outstanding. Fish and chips excellent and curry sauce out of this world. Only another 7 or more visits to try the rest of the menu.

Fish and chips by the sea a quintessential great British tradition and they were excellent. Portion size was good, chips were nicely cooked and the fish was soft with a nice golden batter. Some seating outside normally a large queue if the sun is out but they are quick not cheap £20 for two fish and chips and a coke.

Food was fresh and hot. chicken cooked fresh on order and didn't take too long. Not too busy and reasonably priced. Would visit again

Excellent Gluten Free Menu including the staple Fish and Chips, Sausages, Gravy and Curry Sauces. The Staff are kind and friendly and cater to dietary requirements safely by preparing and serving up the Gluten Free foods separately. They also offer Gluten Free Vinegar. Competitive prices compared with that of other local Fish and Chip Shops who do not offer Gluten Free. I wouldn’t choose another and will always use Mansel’s.
