Tino's Fish and Chips in Bridgend

I went last night and it was nice food good service a really good job so I really recommend giving it a try

We visited all the way from London. Even considering the drive to and from Bridgend, Wales it still worked out cheaper (joking!). Best sausage and chips we’ve had - totally recommended. The battered banana was a delicious treat too! Thank you to the lovely gentleman who served us - I really hope we get to come back soon to try out the other food options on the menu :)

Visited last night for the first time after moving to the area. We had Haddock and chips, the fish was cooked to order and was fantastic. We shared the chips with our neighbours kids as we underestimated the portion size. They were very happy 😃 Great food and super friendly too. We will be back.

Lovely place, amazing service, I’ve tried every chip shop in Bridgend and I can safely say this is the best one by far, the others can’t compare. The best Sausage in batter and chips I’ve ever had!

People if you ain’t been to Tino’s I highly recommend! The food is 10/10 cooked fresh on the spot. Onion rings are 👌 staff are also very polite and respectful. No 1 chippy in Bridgend and surrounding areas . MUST TRY!!!

Best fish and chips home made curry is amazing alway friendly service when ever I've visited

The only problem was the food was only just warm on arrival in a plastic carrier bag.. Maybe use of a bag that keeps the food hot would be a good idea.. Fish massive very nice chips good size & not burnt . Pea fritter awesome . Like ive said the only down fall was it wasn't hot enoff . Nothing to do with the food just the delivery method could be better ..

Called here tonight at 9:05, even though the shop shut 5 minutes prior the staff were still happy to serve us, food was beautiful and customer service was even better! Highly recommend

Fantastic, quality fish and chip shop in Bridgend. Hands down the best I've tried in the area. Very generous portions of chips not like most around, curry was superb and the pies are to die for. Very friendly staff wouldn't go anywhere else from now on 👍

First time coming here after moving back into the area. Very welcoming service from the start; genuine polite people. Food was excellent! Great portion sizes - fish was huge! And all super tasty. Definitely found our new local.

Updated review: I decided to give the shop another chance and it has been a much better experience. Prices have gone up, but it's not exorbitant. Chips are good and staff are friendly. More takeaway drivers than walk in customers, but not too bad.

I've been to this fish and chip shop on many occasions and have always had great food, from sausage, pies, fish, curry even fried Mars bar, have never been disappointed even though prices have increased over the last 12 months (which is understandable) still cheaper than others in the area, will definitely be returning. I asked for chicken madras curry, he gave me Chinese curry and mixed a red curry with it and heated it up. I thought that wasnt right at the time. 48 hours later I had pains in my stomach, then over the weekend i couldnt leave the house because i been so unwell my poo is bright green and I've had diarrhoea for 3 days. I will never be going to the shop ever again in my life. Terrible experience

Not pleasant. Chips certainly were not freshly cooked. Fish was tasteless and batter soggy. Curry sauce was so salty I couldn’t eat it.

Fish cooked to perfection and to order, don't know if cooking to order is normal or because they just ran out tho. Generous portions. Batter spot on. Chips not greasy and again cooked perfectly. Price about £4.50 for the fish but don't quote me on that. Anyway, if you're in the area give it a go.

My local chippy, review updated since new owner took over. Had a large cod, and is one of the biggest cod pieces I've had in a while. Chips good and at a reasonable price. Friendly staff. Parking a bit of a challenge. We will use again.

Haven't had fish and chips for a while. Haven't enjoyed them the last few times I have had them. Decided to give Tinos a try. Best fish and chips I have had in a long time..Good sized portions.

After spending the morning at Merthyr Mawr, we really fancied some fish and chips. After a quick google this looked like it could hit the spot. The 2 lasses that served were amazing, although initially the looked a little confused by the yam yam accent 😁. We got got 2 x large fish and chips, a battered sausage, gravy and the Irish and Chinese curry sauces. The portion size was perfect, there were a few chips left over and we all agreed that they’re some of the best we’ve ever had. 10/10 will definitely be going back for more before the end of our holidays. Edit Friday 29/07/22 We went back this afternoon after spending a few hours on Ogmore beach. OMG the fish and chips were soo good!! Definitely add in consistency to quality. The girls devoured the sausage and chips, really surprised us as the 5 year old has hit that beige phase which covers anything she’s not used to.

Sorry to review but i had really bad experience with tino,s recently. I am their regular customer they used to be best fishery in Bridgend. They closed the shop for sometime and now open with this surprise of extremely poor quality fish. Chips were ok but seems redone but thats fine. The Main owner is nice person and experienced never had any issue but the female staff during day time dont know how to make batter at all. Fish was hard as rock and dry.no taste at all. Seems that middle aged woman is not interested with revenue/reputation of the company. No offense to that staff but 🙂 fish was absolutely horrible. Mr Owner take this review as a lesson and make sure your staff is trained for the job they doing.

Best fish and chip shop for miles around! Called in once on way home from sons swimming lessons and have been back every week since. Food is absolutely top quality, chips excellent and the fish is superb. There is a great choice on offer and a varied selection. Homemade fishcakes and rissoles are a real winner in this house! Staff are amazingly helpful and the owner is a lovely bloke, who took it over about a year ago and he can't do enough to help. Even when they are rushed off their feet, they are always friendly and polite and offer customers a great service. We go out of way to get food from here, about a 9 mile round trip, when there are many more options closer by, that says everything you need to know. Five star food and service.

Had some cod bites they were really yummy!! They asked if I wanted salt and vinegar I said no... I should've said yes to salt >°<

We stopped at Tinos coming back from SUP at the beach. To be fair they stayed open 25 mins past their closing time to cook us 4 fresh fish and serve about 6 other customers. The fish was absolutely delicious and really big portion, thick flakes really meaty texture and the batter was nice without being greasy. The chips were also really tasty, fluffy but crispy on the outside. We will definitely be back next time we come your way guys thank you, you've got 4 super full happy customers!

Amazing fish and chips from Tino’s on Saturday night. All cooked fresh and service was very friendly. Extremely reasonable prices considering we had such a large and varied order. Everything was delicious and we all enjoyed our meal. We won’t go anywhere else in Bridgend now we have discovered Tino’s!!

Changed owners and my god how can you get it so wrong so fast cod is now (disgusting) and the chips are shocking hard and sharp this was probably the best chippy around and now gone so down hill

Ok, an update on my last review as the owner had responded so it's only fair that I do too. I popped in again over the last week. I didn't say who I was because that would have defeated the object of going in and trying again. What a difference. The chips were much better and the cod bites were in a different league this time. I have to comment on the owner's response though, suggesting I had visited on a bad day. My review was covering the previous few weeks so wasn't really aimed at a single visit. The comments about quality and hygiene improving since the previous owner were a bit unfair. Tino had a superb reputation for 25 years so that speaks for itself. However, I digress. The quality of food and service has improved so much since I wrote the last review that I'm more than happy to return as a regular customer. Thank you for the effort and see you soon, although you won't know it's me :)

This chippy is very good and the best around bridgend and I recommend it. The portion of chips and the quality of the fish bits i had is well worth every penny. Very well done

Tino's has changed hands in the last few months and has gradually gone downhill. The new people are nice enough, no problem there at all. I carried on going every week after Tony left but gave up about 3 weeks ago. Had the cod bites a few times and some of them were overcooked and chewy. And the chips are nowhere near as crisp and tasty as they used to be. The final straw for me was when the new lady basically threw the chips from the scoop onto the paper and then pushed the outer ones in with her bare hands. Then she completely soaked the paper in vinegar so badly that it just fell apart whe she tried to wrap the food. My housemates and my neighbours have all stopped going for similar reasons. I never see a queue outside there these days like there used to be, which is a shame as Tino's used to be the best around. I drove up to Finnegans in Broadlands this evening and the difference in quality and service is remarkable. Yes it's more expensive but both the fish and the chips were fresh and crisp and were wrapped and served with care. There was pride in the presentation. They also include a sachet of tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon. I'm not a fan of the overused saying 'You get what you pay for' but in this case it's true.

The Fish and Chips with Curry Sauce I had for my evening Meal tonight was very nice. I very much enjoyed it as did my family. We have all eaten from there in the past. This is my local fish and chip shop. The quality is always of a high standard and the is always very fresh. The fish and chips are also good value for money, and the staff are friendly and polite.

I visit Tino’s every Thursday night and feel I must write a review. The quality is superb always consistent.The fish is cooked to perfection and the batter is perfect.Chips are always fresh and hot. Owner and staff are great and very helpful. Visit this fish and chip shop and you won’t go anywhere else after that.

You're going to have to drive very far to get better fish. No other Fish & Chips in Bridgend or surrounding compares to Tino's. I'd give it 5 stars if he was open later on a Saturday or open on a Sunday. Great food, Great service and decent prices. I changed my mind. That's worth more than them being open all the time.

This family run take away is and has for at least 25 years served probably the best fish & chips in Bridgend. I believe it to be now run by the nephew of the original owner. Service is always polite. Fish (cod, haddock or plaice) cooked to perfection to order. I have not tried the full menu but pies (locally sourced) are perfect. Other takeaways in the area claim to be award winning, well maybe but not in this century ! As far as the Bridgend area is concerned Tinos is second best to none

I have been a frequent visitor for years and I have never been disappointed. I especially love the chips, potato fritters and sausage in batter. The portion sizes are excellent and the fish shop is always busy with queues often spilling into the street (it's a tiny fish shop). The fish shop is immaculately clean with lovely staff.

We went to Tino s recently for a change and we were very disappointed. The chips were overcooked and some too hard to eat . Most of them ended up in the bin - so a waste of £10. We wondered whether a Monday evening at 7pm had anything to do with the chips that had obviously been sat there for a while

Gravy sausage and chips was nice ...BUT while waiting watched him handle and dip the fish and cook them wearing no gloves so bit put off with the hygiene of the place.
