Excellent food here. If I say this up front, I know that I won’t forget to say it! Ask any ethnic foodie, and they will tell you that when they go out to eat food from their own ethnic heritage, the key thing they ask is whether the food they eat is better than they cook at home, whether it is tastier than Mum’s Sunday best, whether they can get the full restaurant experience. Roger’s kitchen ticks all of the boxes. Throughout the menu, there are modern twists and manifestations of traditional West Indian favourites. This should keep Caribbean heritage people happy! But the menu is targeted at food lovers from every ethnic group. Indeed, the seafood soup itself would have graced ‘The Ivy’. The starters are varied. The mains, fish, chicken, meat, flavoursome, perfectly cooked and excellently presented. The service is attentive. Roger’s kitchen is actually quite new, being on the site of a previous Caribbean restaurant, the Mango Room, but also now appears popular in its own right. We came to eat here as a family, we have been back with friends. And we will definitely be back again. Great food, great value. There is not an independent Caribbean restaurant in London that we would rather eat at. Roger’s Kitchen offers excellent modern Caribbean cuisine for the West Indian, British and International foodie. If you are travelling to London for a week, put Roger’s Kitchen on your “must eat here” list. 5 Stars.

The resturant is actually called Roger's kitchen and the first thing you experience is the amazing decor of the place. The food was authentic with a fine dining twist. The reggae music playing in the background sets the scene for a great night. The curry goat and ribs are the star attraction on the menu. The ackee and saltfish is flavourful. The thing what makes this place difference from others is Roger himself, who took time out to talk to us about his He used to cook at the mango rooms so that is the assocation with the now closed down resturant.

After reading the reviews online my partner decided to bring me here to celebrate my new job. First impressions were bad, it’s extremely deceptive compared to how it’s pictured on the website, it’s very dark and gloomy, there was no obvious sign outside, especially as we came in the dark so we drove past it twice. The sign outside could do with some light decor. Prior to coming to Mango Room my partner called to book the table and informed them of my new job celebration and had asked the waitress if she could make the table look somewhat fancy/different to the other tables as a surprise for me in which she agreed to doing. When we arrived he asked her where the table was and she said “pick whatever table you want” meaning she completely disregarded his request. After receiving the menu that was broken and looked extremely cheap and flimsy for the prices they charge, I also realised the food was very overpriced. I asked the waitress for the set menu and she said that only gets provided for groups of people over 10. It didn’t state that on the website and can be misconstrued as false advertisement. I can not believe for one small portioned size jerk chicken it cost £13 - alone - you then have to pay extra for a side which is around 3.50-4.00. When reluctantly ordering the food which was Jerk chicken rice & peas, we also requested coleslaw and dumplings, the waitress replied “we don’t do coleslaw or dumplings here, the owner doesn’t like it” ... it’s not about what the owner doesn’t like it’s about your food audience. How can you run a Caribbean restaurant without coleslaw or dumplings? It’s key in West Indian food. I found that to be very obscured. The waitress then said “it’s fine dining, we don’t do that here”... I did not know consuming dumplings and coleslaw meant it was not fine dining. Whilst waiting for my food, I asked for some water & the waitress brought out a jug of water which seemed to have a booger stain on the side, very very off putting. When the food eventually came out in which waiting time wasn’t long because the restaurant wasn’t busy, the plates were extremely hot, it seemed as though the chef just reheated/microwaved the rice and peas causing the dish within itself to be piping hot to the point where I couldn’t even hold it and had to messily dish out the rice myself with the small spoon provided. The rice and peas were extremely overcooked and stodgy, there was hardly any gravy with the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was undercooked and did not fall of the bone with basic sweet pepper slice and red onions for decoration. The plantain was extremely undercooked, very burnt on the outside and tasted wet, clumpy and soggy on the inside - I’ve never tasted plantain so renk. The waitress did give us complimentary tulip glasses of champagne, which was nice. My partner did say that he enjoyed his curry goat which was very tender, he had that with plain rice. Overall I feel this restaurant is extremely overrated, extortionate and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The only pros were the company I had and leaving. I would’ve much preferred going turtle bay, the atmosphere and decor is so much better and you get your monies worth. Turtle Bay is extremely commercial so this is a huge compliment to them as I’m not too fond of them either.

I went here for my birthday with 4 of my friends and I can assure you that none of us will be returning. The food took forever to come out. When it did come out, all of our food came at different times and half of the orders were incorrect. The waiter was adamant that he got it right but eventually went back to the kitchen and brought out the correct dishes. The food was posh Caribbean food and was rather expensive for what it was. The food wasn't even seasoned properly (the jerk chicken was fine but not spicy or anything) and then there was also a limited number of sides to choose from. We definitely regretted coming here rather than going to Ma Petite.

This afternoon at here with my nice, they offer excellent service. You actually have to reserve a table but the staff was so nice they put up an extra table. The food, drinks, music and the staff reminds me about the homely feeling of the Caribbean. The head chef, original from Jamaica, came along the table. Compliments for this wonderful concept. We had fruit punch, a Caribbean champagne and a Long Island ice tea Caribbean version. Further on we shared two mains with sides: seafood combo, goat curry stew, fried plantains, peas and rice, steamed vegetables and fried cassava. Will definitely come back here on another London trip.

We last visited Mango Rooms over 15+ years ago and I remember leaving slightly disappointed with our meal. On our return visit for my husbands birthday (30th Aug), we were very impressed with the standard of food. First impressions, the atmosphere was a little lacking at the front half of the restaurant as the tables are very spread out, but towards the back, was so much better...more atmosphere. The paintings on the wall bring a colourful and 'good feel' vibe to the room. Music was spot on. To start, we had Scallops and Tempura of Sea Bass and Snapper...so much taste and seasoning. It just finished way to quickly. Mains, were Pork Loin and Chicken Breast in Curry and Coconut sauce...each bite was filled with amazing flavours and I just didn't want it to end. Plantain was sweet...very nice! I could have easily eaten everything all over again. Beautiful presented food, great flavours and a very enjoyable evening. We thanked the chef for giving us an amazing food experience. Overall, I would definitely come back. It was also very nice to see the original owner in the restaurant. Although he doesn't run the business anymore due to illness, he has created an amazing West Indian restaurant (which are far and few between) that he should be extremely proud of. Moneywise, I thought the bill was very reasonable and the service was good. They looked after us and even gave us a complimentary glass of fiz to celebrate my husband birthday, who left the restaurant a very happy man (not an easy feat).

I organised a birthday meal for my husband at Mango rooms for 14 guests. The staff were really helpful when I phoned and made enquiries and this excellent service continued when we arrived at the restaurant. The Caribbean food was delicious and the portion sizes were excellent even for a group of large lads. Everyone finished the meal full and satisfied. I had the seafood soup which was delicious. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

I first came to Mango Room approx 15 years ago with my husband when it was at the other site. We enjoyed it so much and visited whenever we were in London. Sadly he died a few years ago. I was in London yesterday and decided to go there for great food and a little reminisce. I ordered the plantain & sweet potato fritters to start. 3 tiny, soggy balls of mush with a bit of lettuce. For mains I ordered ackee and salt fish with a side of rice n peas. Dreadful. A few bland shards of rubbery fish were mixed with watery ackee. I had to ask for pepper sauce to give it flavour but it was so bad even the sauce couldn’t help it. Seriously was the worst attempt at saltfish I have ever had the misfortune to taste. I left it and when the waitress came to clear up she asked did I want it boxing up to take out as there was so much left. No I replied. I watched the chefs microwave the food. Does not appear that any actual cooking is going on. Female staff were friendly and efficient and it’s a nice place but the food was AWFUL and it is HEAVILY overpriced. The cheek of adding a service charge to a single woman sat on her own as well. No shame. Please don’t visit. It’s no longer the fine dining Caribbean cuisine experience that it once was which is sad for my pocket and my memory. Left the restaurant feeling sickly and later handling a bad case of pup. Sorry for being so graphic but it’s the truth.

I've been to Mango Room when it was previously closer to the tube station and felt it would be a good choice for a get together. Most of our party were running late but [some] staff were accommodating and adjustments were made to allow us to stay longer. I had raved about the food from previous visits and my friends absolutely loved it, though it wasn't as I remembered. The saltfish fritters were nice and while the curried goat was lovely there wasn't any scotch bonnet pepper, I can see the reason and can I suggest two types one with and one without. Some of my friends had the lamb dish, that looked nice. The side dishes of rice and peas and plantain were good sized portions, side note: was there a reason why the plantain wasn't peeled before being fried? The lady who looked after us was a star and could not do enough for us so I hope the service charge goes to her, however the hostess (manager?) was surly, grumbled about time-keeping despite the fact I'd called to explain the delay, and the transport issues across London because of power outage from the weather was well known. Fortunately this didn't affect us too much. I will probably return but please don't chuck me out if I bring my own dried pepper. ☺

We had an exceptional time as we celebrated my Grandmother’s 90th birthday in April this year. From the moment we stepped through the door Lizzy and the rest of the staff provided us with a service that was second to none. As a party of 21, with four different generations, all of our needs were catered for. Even the chef came out to see if we were happy with everything – we were delighted! Each course was delicious and it was difficult deciding what to have, as every mouthful was tantalizingly tasty! We’ll definitely be back, we have a number of significant birthdays coming up in our family and we all know where we’ll be celebrating them. Thank you Lizzy for your hard work before our booking (as our party’s size continued to grow in numbers: from 13 – 21), as well as making my Grandmother feel like a queen on the day! You’re amazing at what you do and the Mango Room is a great place for all to experience. See you next time!

Last Sunday I found myself walking around Camden and stumbled across this delightful restaurant. As soon as I entered I felt welcome and relaxed, the waitress, Lizzy, is so friendly and knowledgable on the menu. I seldom eat Caribbean food, so I don't know what's popular. Lizzy suggested the goat curry, which is something I would never dream of ordering. Thank you Lizzy, I had the best lunch ever! The meat, which was succulent and tender, had obviously been cooking slowly for a long time; it was obvious a lot of thought and care had been put into the food here. The flavour of the spices, paired with the coconut, on top of the lean goat was superb. I highly recommend The Mango House, the staff are so knowledgeable, helpful and smiley; the cooks clearly have been doing what they're doing for a long time, developing a consistency for their craft; and the drinks are good too! I had a couple of Red Stripes and they went down a treat, especially on a Sunday. Look forward to returning soon.

I came here a few years ago with friends and experienced great food and atmosphere. My husband and I were in the area recently so I was excited to take him there for a drink as he had never been before. Being a Caribbean restaurant, my husband asked the bar man if they served Guinness Punch. They didn't. Had the bar man just said, 'no, sorry we don't', that would have been fine but instead he sneered made a point for telling us that they wouldn't dare serve such a drink as this was a fine dining establishment! We were both astounded. Neither of us has been to a 'fine dining' restaurant where all the staff wear jeans/leggings, t-shirts and trainers! Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with what the staff were wearing however the attitude and unnecessary comment from the bar man made us look at the whole place in a different light. We have been to numerous Caribbean restaurants where Guinness Punch is on the bar menu....even in the Caribbean!!!! We stayed for (mediocre and overpriced) cocktails but the experience left a bitter taste in our mouths. We didn't eat there but I would like to hope that the food is still good, however we will not be returning to find out.

Usted no será decepcionado.

I had been to this restaurant on a number of occasions.i absolutely loved it. The ambiance ,the service and great food. I was really looking forward to this visit.Unfortunately, it just did not live up to expectations. The service was slower than slow and when we were eventually acknowledged there was no smiling hardly any interaction from the waitresses.unbelievable.Eventually we got some drinks.when the first course came they had forgotten my course.on the next course they forgot someone else's course.when we eventually eat it was very late.At no time were we asked if everything was alright ,did we want more drinks more water.each time we had to try and gain the attention of a waitress. At some stage a senior member of staff did come and apologise for the lateness of dishes.we were told that they had another large party and that was the reason.Perhaps it was because we were a large party and it was a bit chaotic. However, if you allow for a large party the restaurant should be able to cope with it.they obviously could not. Other aspects of the evening went wrong but why harp on about everything. Was there anything good. Yes there was.The overall ambiance of this restaurant is great..the lighting is just right as is the music.the artwork on the walls is fabulous. My food was lovely, the rice and beans was delicious with lots of different flavours.the desserts looked very inviting. The restaurant did try to make amends and did apologise.however, if it was my restaurant this is what I would have done.I would have taken off the service charge and come to the table and apologised to everyone and offered everyone a drink on the house. They did give my friend a bottle of Prosecco and came with a small piece of cake with a candle a nice touch.Mango don't be offended just learn from this experience.i would love to go back but will I not sure let's wait and see..

For the food I would've given 5 stars but the server was not attentive and obviously didn't take pride in her job. Nice atmosphere in the place though with dimmed lights and good sounds. Would go again.

I knew to rendezvous with my blind date here. One can tell a lot from what one orders! Salt cod balls and goat curry are sublime here. But the best are the cocktails. Yummy coconut based heaven. And the food? ALL good. Some caution as plantain is straight up banana and the goat curry has many bones. A cosy dining area intensifies the experience.

Had a lovely date night dinner at Mango Room in Kentish Town a couple of weeks ago. The Rum Punch was sweet but lethal and went straight to my head - I'm not a drinker so this might be part of the problem! For mains I had the ackee, avocado and plantain dish and it was very tasty. It didn't look like a large dish but it was very filling! My OH had the jerk chicken and rice and peas - he thought it was on the small side but after eating it, agreed that it did the job.My only complaint was that my starter was very small - it felt like it belonged on a tasting menu.Otherwise good atmosphere and friendly service with 1:1 interaction from the manager who happened to be the nephew of the owner,

It's always a risk returning to somewhere you have had previously excellent meals but there was no need to be anxious this time. The decor is updated since my last visit. The dining room was funky and the tables well spaced apart.Service was pleasant, friendly and fast. The food was amazing. The tempura batter on the fish starter was crisp and light with subtle flavours in the accompanying salsa. All our main courses were delicious and one better than another. Deserts to die for...They have nice and reasonably priced wines.Overall a perfect dining experience.

I hadn't been to Mango Room for years, having previously enjoyed a few visits possibly as much as six or seven years ago. I was delighted to find the standards as high as ever. The menu offers a range of extremely tempting options, especially if you're a fan of fish and sea food. The cocktails, wine and non alcoholic drinks offer wide ranging choices at reasonable prices. My only criticism is that the portion sizes are on the small side but this would not stop me going back. I particularly recommend the snapper fillet as a main course but you will need to order sides unless you're not hungry!

Honestly, it was just OK. I found the food, average. Personally it wasn't fantastic and what was more disappointing is the hefty price for the tiny portions. I ordered the prawns with mango salsa and fish as a main which was the smallest piece of fish i have ever eaten and my friend ordered the curry goat (his portion was much larger). That said both mains were nice and had pleny of flavour. We accompanied our meal with sides; rice and peas, roti, and veg. All sides served in small bowls. Spent just over £100 for two of us and the discretionary 12% service charge was automatically added despite service not being the best. The waiters were nice enough but we often had to hail them down in order to attend to us which I found disappointing! My advice go if you have a very small appetite or eat before hand and don't go expecting value for money

Fine and handy location very near to Camden Town Underground, and a nice earthy farmhouse feel to the interior with chunky tables and chairs. Would be a lively spot at the weekend I guess.Had the Jerk Chicken of course, and was very surprised how quickly it arrived...in fact at the same time as my Red Stripe beer [brewed in UK by Heineken by the way!] making me suspicious that it wasn't prepared especially for me!The dish looked very pretty but wasn't particularly spicey, and plantains had been cooked with skin on?Drinks quite expensive and disappointed that they don't supply imported Jamaican Red Stripe rather than the English variety. It was OK but probably wouldn't take the trip out again.

My fist time was ok, wasn't overwhelmed. Second time I was disappointed a little by the rice & peas with my chicken but I was hungry and with good friends so I didn't fuss. My third time was the charm, as they say. From the appetizers to my main course, everything was on point. Taste, presentation, and even portion. At first the portions look too small but if you savor each bight and enjoy a nice drink, when you're finished you feel satisfied. I was happy to return and will do so again based on this experience.

The restaurant is very stylish. The food portions are small but set out attractively.I had a sea food platter - no Caribbean taste and dry. Needed some kind of sauce to go with the rice and peas. Where are the Caribbean cooks - lacked authenticity. It is good to see Caribbean food put together differently from the regular restaurants but keep the soul in the food please.

Lost count of how many times I've been over the years but can't think of one occasion when I left disappointed. Trouble is the curry goat and mango and banana brûlée are so good I rarely try anything else on the menu!Starter portions tend to be a little mean but that's not a bad thing as it leaves more room for the main and sides. Great service, as always.Look forward to our next visit.

Went recently to the Mango Room to celebrate the birthday of my teenage niece. The restaurant was very busy for a Saturday evening, and this was reflected in the quality of the food and the quality of the waiting staff. The portions of rice and peas were incredibly small, and there was a distinct lack of seafood in the seafood casserole! To make it worse they tried to add a £26.00 service charge. When I asked for this to be removed, the frostiness of the waiting staff was absolutely arctic. Will not be returning......

Was in London the first week in October and this restaurant was suggested by several friends. We took the tube there, it was mid day and had lunch, it was delicious!!! The food was great but the service was slow. The restaurant wasn't busy but it took them about 20 mins to take our order. Had the curry goat and my friend had the salmon it was really good! I'll be back next time I'm in London.

We have been going here for years but having lived overseas past 6 years - this was our first visit in a while. Decor has changed and it looks great but service is poor. We were 3 people and the only other diners were a family of 5 - so not exactly busy. From the start they seemed not bothered about looking after their diners. Only one of the waitresses ever smiled and you had to get their attention constantly. We could also hear a lot of noise coming from the kitchen and the staff just hung out by the bar area. Food good if a little pricey - good jerk chicken and rice and peas - but not sure I would go back which is a shame as it used to be one of our regular places.

I love this place. Food is inspired and super tasty. Extremely well presented. Was introduced to Mango Room by an extremely fussy eater - so that is testament to how good the food is. The thing I find about London restaurants is the lack of general effort. In food being a bit drab and plain, food presentation lacking and the restaurant design/ decor is often non-existent. This one stands out so much from the rest. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

We visited with a large group of friends, this being the first visit for all of us. I would describe the food as modern caribbean. The starters are tasty but a bit on the small side. I had the ackee and saltfish for starters and curry goat with rice and peas, both had been nicely flavoured and did not disappoint. What was disappointing was the service, with things being forgotten and at the end the bill was put on the table before we had asked. In fact it arrived when we were deciding on the final round of cocktails. It took some time to convince the waitress that we wanted to order more.

There isn't exactly a surfeit of Caribbean restaurants to sit down and enjoy a decent authentic Caribbean meal. This restaurant has a nice airy ambience with interesting Caribbean inspired artwork. This is my 2nd time of eating at the Mango Rooms, the staff were attentive when required and the food arrived in a reasonable time frame.I would concur with over reviewers, the portions are on the small side as rarely will I eat a three course meal but on this occasion I did. The standout was the starter of tempura seabass with a tropical coulis. You could taste the freshness of the fish and the batter was light and crisp. My main of mixed fish with cassava was underwhelming, in for my tastes the fish was under seasoned, Caribbean cuisine is all about the seasoning. The dessert of pudding and ice cream was light and flavoursome. If you want an authentic full on taste of the Caribbean or just after jerk chicken, there are better and cheaper alternatives, however if you are after a modern take of Caribbean cuisine and don't mind a bit of fusion, it is worth visiting.

Travelling through Camden I fancied a Caribbean meal. Mango Room is in the rather 'grotty' part of Kentish Town Road near the station, but some of the best restaurants are in the less attractive places. I had eaten there before and was looking forward to the meal. I was seated and chose what I wanted from the interesting menu. I decided to treat myself to a Caribbean Champagne cocktail to start with. Then I waited for my order to be taken...and waited.... and waited. I became hopeful when a waitress served wine to the guest at the next table. I felt sure she would then take my order next-but no such luck. I waited and then left. On leaving, I saw the waitress standing doing nothing. I explained why I was leaving, but no apology or explanation was received. Fortunately it is not the only Caribbean restaurant in Camden.

This was my first visit to Mango Rooms and I'm pretty sure it won't be my last. I was at Mango Rooms for a friends birthday and was restricted to the set menu, which for me as a fussy eater wasn't the best situation to be in but there was enough variety for me to able to choose and still feel I wouldn't waste my money and end up at the chicken shop across the road. My first point of call was to choose what kind of drink I wanted for the evening and the bar staff was very helpful in helping me select a bottle of wine. For starters I chose the wings which were very nice and a decent portion but cold. In comparison to some of the other starters that people received for instance the salt cod fritters didn't seem to have any salt cod in them and was more like a ball of batter of which you 2 got of them which made those that chose them less than happy so I got off nicely with that one. Next was the mains and I chose the chargrilled chicken in jerk sauce other popular options amongst our group was the curry goat and the lamb rump. Based on previous portion sizes it's best to say if you want to eat a lot then curry goat is best choice and lamb rump then the chicken as everything else might not quite hit the spot. Desert was not chosen by most people and I thought I would give the chocolate and coconut cake a whirl... I would not be making that mistake again, i had one bite and decided to leave it. Overall I think the concept of Mango Rooms is great, a up market Caribbean restaurant with decent service and generally decent food but for the price I'm paying and having to choose it over a jerk hut, Brown eagle, basically a Caribbean shop I don't know if it's worth it for me as I like to have a lot of food on my plate and I don't think I'd be able to do it there with out breaking the bank.

8 of us came for dinner. Initially we waited for 20minutes before being able to order drinks, I had to get up and ask twice for someone to take our order. Bearing in mind it was Tuesday night and there were only 4 tables. The food came in good time however a vegetarian dish was served covered in meat which meant that person then had to wait for the right dish and eat alone. The duck didn't come with its accompaniments so again another wait and we were then charged extra as though it was a side. Drinks came all at different times and no one seemed available when we needed them. Our desert order was taken before everyone was at the table so some of us ended up waiting again for desert. Overall tasty food, slow and poor service.

Was upset that the Mango shack right round the corner from Camden station actually closed down and we heard that the owner owned both of these restaurants. Despite this Mango Rooms was suggested to me for my bday meal. I called up and had made a reservation which was ok. I received a follow up call to confirm the amount which was ok. So to my surprise I assumed all was fine. Upon arrival the restaurant is neat and tidy. I advised one of the waitresses that I had a reservation so she took me to my table. The table was pretty small as I had a party of 6. Other tables consisted of two or four. So while waiting for the rest of the party we ordered some drinks. Drinks was very nice as my first drink was done with the right amount of strawberries to my liking for my strawberry daiquiri and my best friends drink was ok also. Rest of my party arrived and we had began to order our starters and mains. My party of guests arrived and advised there was a table booked for me in which one of the waiters said they didn't know who so I ended up having to walk around the corner to get my guests. I wasn't impressed. So second round of drinks for me wasn't as good as the first batch so we had to ask for more straws as the daiquiri was a little light. Twice we had to ask where was the drink as none of the waiters or waitresses knew who took the drink. Despite the confusing drinks were brought back just right. Starters were brought and ate and main course was cooking. Main course arrived and it was ok. I was really disappointed because in Mango Shack I practically wanted to lick my plate because the food was so good but here the standards was not the same. Unsure if it was because it was a busy day as it was the weekend or something else. Anyway I ordered Roti and the corners of it was rock solid. I just wasn't impressed. Overall prices were ok but my score was mainly based on the service and the food provided. On one occasion I looked at the chefs cooking at the back and I was outraged that a chef had some chicken that he was cooking had in a bowl and actually licked his fingers after checking the chicken. I don't know if this was for a table or for him but for me to see that I wasn't impressed and it completely put me off the food. My party decided not to pay the service charge only because there wasn't much of a service provided to us as we may as well have done it ourselves however I won't be going back unless the other branch reopens again.

My guest and I was at your restaurant last night celebrating my 50th Birthday and I must say in a very constructive manner as I work in the hospitality industry but on a high profile level at The Savoy. You have a lovely restaurant, great product and food but you fail miserably in customer service and basis catering front of house skills. Also many of the staff are not trained in any way shape or form. I would advise that you get someone in who professional knows what they are doing to improve the poor service you seem to provide for the prices you charge. We also witness a lady who walked out last night in disgust because of the poor level of service, The good news is that I run my own professional Hospitality Consultancy and can help you in this area if your are humble enough to accept my expertise.I left my business card and contact number should you wish to take me up on this limited offer or inbox for my website details. We went to Mango Room having been to Mango Shack before; expecting good things, unfortunately this was not to be. The main let down was the service. The staff just did not seem to know what they were doing. One waitress apologised and explained that it was her first day, but surely they couldn't all have been new starters! Drinks and food that were ordered were forgotten and incorrect orders were brought to the table. When the food did arrive it was disappointing. It was edible but was not particularly tasty. The chefs who you could see through the kitchen hatch were wearing baseball caps...maybe this should have been a warning sign! We did not pay the service charge when our bill came as we felt the service really had just not been up to scratch. It is a shame as Mango Shack was really enjoyable but it is now closed so we were left with Mango Rooms. I'd pick another venue for celebrations.

It's really worthwhile to order a selection of lighter dishes, or starters, and share them. It makes for a really good dining experience at the Giraffe. Have also tried the breakfast, and that was really very good.

I've been to this place twice now and can't fault the food. You get a large plate of delicious food. First time I had the jerk chicken roast, with all the trimmings. 2nd visit I had their vegetarian dish which was so nice. Will continue to visit and try other items on the menu. Pity they don't do jerk pork. My only criticism is they put a time limit on your time there. Puts pressure on eating your food quickly.
