Mango in Glasgow City

I went to the UK to visit for two weeks and explored various bars and restaurants but this one the worst by far. I am a solo traveler and was excited to visit this place after a friend told me the atmosphere was great. I was met by a white woman bouncer who would not allow me in. I was probably the only Latino in the place and was treated much differently than all the white people trying to enter. Very racist behavior that I did not experience on my trip except this place.

£6 a ticket, good music and good atmosphere.

We were in a private room upstairs and it was great with a private bar as well.

It is a great place for dancing and socialising. Cocktails are great too.

No food served anymore. Downstairs was very busy but great fun. Dancing classes with Orlando were excellent and fast paced.

Staff are very friendly. Drinks are good. Unfortunately, they don’t serve food any more.

Nice authentic Brazilian food restaurant. Had a nice fresh and easy to understand menu. Didn't take long to get our food order out. Fairly priced for being in the city centre. Over-all, was a good experience 👌🏾

Aparecí aquí para una fecha de vencimiento hace mucho tiempo y encontramos un gran restaurante pequeño con buena comida, bebidas fuertes y un personal amable. ¡Hay muchos platos más inusuales para probar y estamos ansiosos por volver cuando la música esté permitida nuevamente! El único problema es que (hasta donde yo sé) los baños no tienen acceso para discapacitados debido a los escalones.

Vinimos el sábado pasado y nos encantó nuestra experiencia en Mango. Nunca habíamos estado en el restaurante antes, pero no nos decepcionó. El servicio fue excelente, muy rápido al realizar el pedido; mis amigos y yo disfrutamos de una comida excelente y tomamos unas margaritas. . . y Dios míoEl distanciamiento social se mantuvo en todo momento y se llevó a cabo con un estándar muy alto. ¡No podemos esperar a volver!

Pedí fajitas de ternera, fajitas de pollo y patatas bravas y un cóctel a través de Just Eat. Recibí un mensaje a las 7. 20 pm para decir que la comida se había ido (lo que debería haber sido un viaje de 15 minutos) no llegó hasta las 8. 35 pm, el restaurante sabía que había un retraso con el conductor pero no telefoneó para avisarnos. Cuando llegó, la comida estaba tibia y tan salada que comimos algunos bocados y la dejamos. Repugnante. Evitaré en el futuro.

Desde que se abrieron el cierre y las cervecerías al aire libre, mi papá ha visitado este lugar. Su local cerró. Visité a mi papá y el personal ha sido increíble, probablemente es el mejor personal con el que me he encontrado en Glasgow y he bebido en muchos lugares. Graves sobresalientes para este lugar. Megan, Virginia y Laura son grandes chicas y no podrían ser más útiles.

A group of us came in Saturday night and had a ball! Place is decked out so funky, bar staff were friendly and the music was amazing! Had a bit too much to drink so didn’t venture downstairs to the club but music sounded good coming from there too. Definitely would come back.

Mango is always an amazing place to visit, have been there yesterday with about 10-15 friends, but last night when the DJ who was playing on the main floor treated my friend in a very nasty way in front of everyone, making her feel so ashamed and humiliated. You guys should make sure you have a staff that can treat your costumers with manners. Very sad and extremely disappointed.

Customer service form Laura behind the bar is excellent. Going there regularly for dance classes and she is always the most pleasant,friendly face and chat every time. A little asset indeed

A group of friends and I went travelling from Edinburgh to Glasgow to celebrate a hen party and the doorman surprisingly refused our entire group entry without any reasons. Certainly won’t be back and would advise others to think twice.

El personal es impactante, más lento que una semana en la cárcel, atendiendo a quienes quieren primero en lugar de a los clientes que han estado esperando, sirviendo bebidas equivocadas y repartiéndolas según lo ordenado. Basura, no volveremos, específicamente la mujer miembro del personal que estaba sirviendo el domingo 30 de julio.

Viajaba con mis amigos en un viaje religioso a Mull y nos detuvimos a pasar la noche en Glasgow porque nuestra jurney era muy larga. . Alrededor de 400 millas. Estuve con compañeros de trabajo y tomamos varias rondas. En un punto de la noche perdí mi teléfono y pregunté a una empleada.No quisieron ayudarme porque creo que me confundieron con otra persona y me acusaron de cosas muy feas y me hicieron sentir como una prostituta. Reconozco que iba bebida, pero no es normal irse a casa llorando por el trato recibido. Mi inglés no es bueno y no entiendo todas las palabras pero las caras y los gestos fueron muy claros. Entiendo que en un bar de copas se viven situaciones muy complicadas,pero se confundieron totalmente conmigo. Una pena no volver porque realmente me gusta ese pub.

Came for dinner with some friends and stayed until 3am! Food was incredible and the cocktails delicious so after few of them we decided to stay until the end of the party. Staff was lovely and quick serving drinks

Came in for some cocktails with a group of friends as Sunday to Wednesday they have them on a discount. Bartenders seemed professional enough, the cocktails looked amazing, tasted great as well. Haven't tried the food though.

Went in on spur of moment. we were the only people in the place but made to felt welcome. Food pretty good- not fantastic but still good and plenty of it. Had a couple of cocktails too which were presented really well. Probably has a great buzz about it at night but during the day there was absolutely no atmosphere.

Good speciality drink and nice themed! When we visited it was surrounded by he remains of the art gallery so was hard to enter. The place was very crowded for a Saturday night and clearly the quota of people allowed in at any time was too high so it made it very stuffy and hard to be served at the bar.

Was looking forward to a pre-theatre dinner here given the good TA reviews. However when we went in (around 6.15pm Mon 28 May) the lassie behind the bar ignored us despite us being right in front of her. Giving the benefit of the doubt I gave the other staff member (not doing anything) a big smile and got a glare before she disappeared through a door. After that treatment quite frankly we didn’t rate our chances at getting good service so we went across the road and had excellent food and service at TukTuk.

My friends and I were in this place to celebrate a birthday. We were mistreated by the bouncer who suddenlty kept telling us to go out. According to him, a girl in my group was drunk, but in reality she was just tired.

Went with friends after work to get some food and cocktails. The waitress could not explain what some of the taps dishes were and the food served was so so, nachos were Doritos with no cheese and covered in sweet chilli sauce?! Not great quality and all seemed a bit stale. Cocktails were great. Service wasn’t brilliant, had to chase for bill, chase to pay. Toilets are horrible. Was getting really busy later on and people hovering over our table. Disappointed as the atmosphere wasn’t as I have heard it to be.

Visited recently and it was great prices, excellent service and the cocktails where top class! Tapas food hit the spot after a few drinks 😀

Este lugar tenía un gran ambiente, pero por desgracia la comida lo bajó. Muy grasiento y sin sabor. Que no se podía comer. La camarera me deje saber que no sepan bien y ella se lo llevó lejos, pero aun así pagan el precio completo. Pagamos, pero realmente nunca volvería para comida. Le recomiendo que vaya a otro lugar para su comida. Una lástima.

The food is unreal and 6 tapas for £12 before 6pm is a right deal. The cocktails and beers are excellent and well worth the money. The staff are very good and make great drinks. The place is brilliant would highly recommend.

Visited before a Concert at the ABC. interesting decor and slightly off hand service which the cheap drinks and half price cocktails more than made up for. Cheap drink offers only apply for the first half of the week.

Las tapas son aves muy buena relación calidad-precio antes de las 6 de la tarde, así que tuvimos 6 tapas mixtas entre 4 y todo era excelente y bastante diferente, platos principales de estofado con alubias, bacalao, carne y pollo a la barbacoa, de nuevo, muy variado y delicioso, el vino a un precio muy razonable. Con una salsa de churros debe terminar! El personal es encantador.

Me encantó este bar! Llegó por primera vez con amigos y nos quedamos a partir de las 9 p.m. por la noche, empezó en el bar y nos mudamos en el club más tarde. Me encantaron los cócteles. El personal era genial! Una noche tan buena, sin duda volveremos.

Restaurante/pub con buena comida. Fui con mi pareja y pedimos unos entrantes (tacos y ensalada) y dos platos principales (parrillada y fajitas). La comida estaba deliciosa aunque la ensalada era todo lechuga (no merece la pena pedirla).

Vino en spec antes del teatro para una comida. Entrantes eran buenas, especialmente el poco de bravtas (fragmentos) de patata con salsa de tomate picante que era demasiado gruesa, pero sabroso. Carne con ensalada y patatas fritas también estaban bien. Pero tengo que decir que el servicio no era bueno, no vienen a ver si era necesaria otra bebida, teníamos que coger su atención otra dos veces después de la primera copa. 3 camareras se levantó y conversamos como intentamos conseguir otra bebida. El restaurante tiene un gran ambiente dentro pero necesitan sus servicios.

Visited with a friend for a pre-theatre meal. Fajitas and tapas were lovely, as were the margaritas! The waitress was friendly and helpful. Booked on 5pm, so was great value too! £12.99 per person for a main, desert and margarita. Would have given a 5, had it not been for the second waitress who was abrupt and stuck a "reserved for 7:30pm" sign on our table... at 10 minutes to 8! Time to go then...

None of us had had a lot to drink and we were not causing any disturbance or problems, I will not be returning here again unless the staff improve their customer service.

Went here yesterday with my friend after viewing it on Instagram, I must say staff were all lovely and friendly, the main girl serving us was an absolute delight. Sounds a bit corny, but they come across like they actually appreciate your business so I like that. We didn't order any food as we had already eaten but loved our cocktails. Weren't over powering but I was quite happy I could actually taste some rum in them and it wasn't completely drowned with juice. It has quite a relaxed atmosphere In the afternoon. . I'd love to see this place in an evening. I'll definitely come back.

I went into Mango for a friends leaving night. She had been before and loved it, however when we went it was quite quiet. The music wasn't what I'm into so I would prefer somewhere like Driftwood but that's just me. Decor/atmosphere was good. My friend said that the time she was in before there were loads of people salsa dancing etc and she loved it so I suppose it just depends on what you like.

I had purchased a groupon deal for 2 courses and a cocktail each, unfortunatley my husband was ill so I ended up taking my mum with me, who is not into cocktails - the staff let me order the two and waited till I was finished to make the second one great service. The food was great and the atmosphere was great. Will definately be back for more cocktails and food and music

I attend mango regularly on a Wednesday night for their mango jam, which is always an amazing night but haven't eaten there until yesterday.The food is amazing!! My friend and I both decided on getting burrito and soft drink for a fiver deal. It was lovely, you have the choice of chicken, beef or veg. Absolutely no complaints at all, except maybe that I wish my tummy was bigger so I could have eaten more!We also had the mango cheesecake and churros, yummy!! I had brought my dog in too, they were very accommodating. I didn't even have to ask for a bowl of water, Bridgette brought us one minutes after I arrived. We had some cocktails too, which I usually have on a Wednesday also. Expertly mixed by Bridgette as usual, she really is fab! :)

Went today for lunch with my husband and daughter, we used 2 itison vouchers between us (2 mains and cocktails for £9 deal)Staff were friendly and happy to accommodate, food was lovely, all 3 of us enjoyed our lunch, cocktails weren't to shabby either. Defo be back, would like to try at night.

I would say that the manager of this place has absolutely no customer service training. I cannot believe that I had an argument with him over a Strawberry Daiquiri. I would say that this was the worst experience I have ever had.Then when the bill came he charged me double for my drink.Totally shocking!! I would never return to this bar!!When it comes to petty things like a complaint about a drink!! You sort it and don't argue with customers!! Shocking attitude!!

Visited this place on a Sunday afternoon with an itison voucher, cocktails are amazing along with the authentic Latin style food. Staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. Prices are also very reasonable especially Sunday to Wednesday. We will be returning very soon.

Told was a recently opened bar/ restaurant/ Spanish bar .. drinks very small measures and pricy lager on tap disgusting one of the party kept returning his pint and argue with barmaid as she insisted nothing was up with it now toilets in this place are totally disgusting no toilet roll dirty floors and cubicles and according to the men in the group the gents were even worse again a place that serves food this it unacceptable

Git the itison deal for mango was absolutely lovely I had the burrito my dad had the chicken chorizo and mum had the pulled pork, great value and awesome Latin American food

Went here for drinks before dinner, and they have a pretty good selection of beers. We were the only costumers there! We orderd some tapas that was, at best, mediocre actually. But, good beers and the decor is fun.

Stopped in here for a quick burger before a gig. The staff were friendly and relaxed, and the food came quickly which was a plus. My friend and I both had the pulled pork burger and a mango side salad. The 'burger' was ok, quite tasty, but not a huge amount of meat in it and it was more just a few fine strips of pork than an actual pattied-together 'burger', but it did taste nice. It came with caramelised onion chutney which I'm not sure really went with it but wasn't offended by it. Accompanying chips were good if a bit on the salty side. The mango salad was zesty and interesting with peanuts in it, but it was a little bit too heavy on the mango, my friend and I both thought the same. I thought the price of £6 for the burger was fine though and would stop in here again, but probably not as a very first choice.

I wanted to give this place 3 stars (ranking it as average) but I couldn't possibly because it appears the place is lacking the most basic hygiene in the kitchen. The main food on the plates we ordered actually tasted fine... We had sets of tapas. But the side salad was so incredibly unappetizing, with dried out salad and the slices of lemon and lime looked like they had been sliced about 4 days ago and let dry, kind of reminding me of what's sometimes used in house decorations but not on plates of food meant for human consumption. They also used the same horrendous fruits on the drinks... with the inside of the skin of the lime gone brown and everything. Eww. The place also smells like old man's pub... of spilled beer gone sour, that hasn't been cleaned up in weeks or months. But anyways... the Colombian Empanada and Coxinha de Frango tapas were tasty, the Gamas Doraditas were good if they were dipped into the sweet chilli sauce that was served with the Coxinha, but were served with avocado mash made of avocados that seemed like they hadn't ripened properly yet.

Went in for some food before a gig and was pleasantly surprised by the fajitas - nice and tasty, although would have been better if there was more sauces like salsa. Would be better if the menu had more options but still good. I had June bug cocktail which was nice too. The place is decorated well and the staff were friendly and efficient.

I went there for food and drinks with a friend in August. The staff were friendly but they didn't seem very enthusiastic, it was kind of like they'd be happier not serving us. I ordered a vegetable dish but was given one with chicken instead. As I am vegetarian and also because I didn't want to cause a fuss given their mood, I just gave it to my friend. The food was quite dry but tasted okay. So the food wasn't the best or the service, but the cocktails were lovely and the atmosphere was great as the night carried on! It was a reggae/latino pop kind of night with lots of typical reggaeton music. Tequila shots were only £1 and the vodkas weren't too expensive either. The music was great and the enviroment was so warm and lively! People from different countries and cultures came that night and so it give a very diverse feel - everybody was care-free, there were some people dancing on the tables but it was all fun and happy! There was a conga going on and people were having a great time! Downstairs, there was a salsa night, mainly professionals so we did seem a bit out of place but it is really nice to watch if you're wanting to take a break from dancing.Would definitely recommend for a night out, for something different from the usual night scene in Scotland.

6 ladies had been to a show and we went to mango for a bite to eat and a wee drink. Such friendly staff and the food was excellent and very well priced. The whole layout/theme of the place was brilliant.

Warm welcome from staff.Drinks.....house wine, white & red, were good & fairly priced. An excellent jug of Margarita made by the mixologist, chilled not frozen, went down a treat.Sadly, couldn't say the same for the food.....no pico de gallo or guacamole served with fajitas & stew with beans was hot but had a distinct lack of flavour. Didn't complain as the staff were so pleasant & attentive.

The reviews of this place suggest a very different experience to the one we had. We had purchased a Groupon for a lunchtime breakfast and very little was right with it. The fact that there is no mention of breakfast on the menu should have been the first warning sign. The breakfast is just a basic fry but almost all of it was lukewarm. Except the black pudding. It was cold. You really don't want a mouthful of cold black pudding. Trust me. Steer clear of this place - certainly won't be back.

Very disappointing! After reading the reviews we expected much more from Mango but we were both very disappointed and it certainly didn't live up to its reviews. Food was below average and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. We definitely won't be back!

Estivemos neste bar algumas horas e tem um Ambiente muito bom. A segurança e muito boa pois estava em família e era a única mulher, e logo a entrada do local fui questionada se estava bem e senti-me muito confortável.

Had a pre wedding lunch here with my daughters. The decor classy, modern and comfortable. The service and food excellent and extremely well priced for lunch .2 courses £9.95. You can choose from contemporary Indian or classic Italian or are able to mix and match. The lunch menu wasn't extensive , which I think is a good thing but not your bog standard choices either. We all decided to have Italian , it was difficult to decide as it all sounded amazing. I never choose lasagne , as I make it at home but the table opposite ordered , it looked amazing and it was . The best lasagne I have eve tasted. Everyone at our table were very impressed with the food.

Food was great cocktails were even better. The music and decoration created a great atmosphere, one down side was in the back they only had candles and it got quite dark.
