We've been to Tinto Westend a few times before and its been outstanding but this time there was a definite change, the food was'nt as good as normal, the chorizo, black pudding and fish stew never had any black pudding in it, the rustic bread was a shop bought pitta bread and the homemade cheesecake was also shop bought, the round cheap strawberry cheesecake you could get from any supermarket, who knows maybe it was a one off bad night for the place, but after reading other reviews who knows.

We arrived at Tinto for our 6.15pm booking. The restaurant wasn't busy but more people came in shortly after us. The draught beer wasn't available and the credit card machine wasn't working. The weather was blamed for the beer as the delivery couldn't get to them. Don't know the reason for the card machine though. That's quite often a sign that the place is closing down. The tapas were all good and tasty. Especially the crab cake. There was rather an overload of tomato sauce with the meatballs. But overall very tasty and a good Itison deal.

We arrived at 6.30 and the restaurant was empty bar a couple of diners. Our order was taken quickly. Octopus was not available nor the ox cheeks which we were not told about until we had chosen and have to quickly make another choice. We shared couple of nice bread baskets then our tapas arrived. Gambas pil pil was delicious but the rest of our food was very average. An extra glass of white wine was ordered but an extra glass of red was delivered. It wasn't expensive tho' and I guess you get what you pay for. I had recently eaten at the Largs brand and it was excellent. Here, the staff just didn't seem to care.

Overpriced itison deal; 5 tapas and a bottle wine for £22. We ordered the conejo, to be told it wasn’t available. We asked if anything else was unavailable and the answer was no. So, ordered pulpo. Then told that’s not available either. The waitress just stared. I stared back. Then shook my head and ordered some other stuff. Mixed platter? Don’t bother. Three slices of cheese. Three shop bought chorizo slices. Three bits of polish sausage and a ramikin of black olives. Tiny portion, and just very odd. Catalan butifarra? In a white cream sauce? Just odd and wrong. I’m not going to comment on all the dishes, but I will say every one was microwaved and not particularly pleasant. Roasting hot lemon wedges are never good.

Booked Tinto, West End several weeks ago via Quandoo for two of us to use an Itison deal. On the day I received an email asking me to confirm (twice) that I would definitely be there at the appointed time and I was told that Tinto Tapas was looking forward to seeing us.

I have been here 3 times now first two with friends and tonight with my husband, food as always exquisite and above and beyond service. I did try cafe andeluz and in comparison, Tinto were always attentive and considerate and price was a 3rd of what we paid at cafe andeluz, think people go there for the brand and location bit tinto is a wee hidden place worth Seeking out! hyndland st.... you will not be disappointed!

Arrived at Tinto for our 8 pm booking, we were not acknowledged for at least 5 minutes after coming through the door. After being seated at our table we ordered drinks which took another 10 minutes to arrive, 2 bottles of beer, not cocktails or something that would have taken time to make. We ordered bread with oil and vinegar, the bread came but with no oil or vinegar. The wine we asked for was unceremoniously dumped on the table without glasses, after yet another wait, we actually had to ask for glasses. One of the tapa dishes should have come with aillo, it didn't and yet another thing that should have come automatically had to be asked for. On complaining to the manager, we were told it was because the staff were new. Even the most novice staff should know you need glasses with a bottle of wine! In fairness the food was good and we would have ordered more had it not been for all of the previous errors. A very disappointing visit on what should have been a special ocassion.

Three out of the five tapas were simply not acceptable....admittedly they were replaced but this whole process seemed to concern the staff who were pleasant enough students who simply had not a clue about waiting. Our welcome came from a girl with limited English who greeted us with "This is my first shift"...and it showed with no one having taken the trouble to tell her what to do!

Where to begin? I suppose I will start on a positive. The bar/ waiting staff were very nice. The restaurant was dead and there were 5 staff so that could be the reason. But ultimately we were there to eat and sadly the food was really really really bad. Or maybe it’s the chef? Anyway, we ordered tapas and they came lukewarm. Actually we had to send back 3 dishes that were undercooked. The replacements were not much better. My dessert (which was part of the deal or else I wouldn’t have bothered) was also raw!

We ordered 3 tapas each which were tasty enough but Luke warm, the prawns pil pil were not sizzling neither was the beef strips in chilli and garlic, in fact all our dishes were Luke warm as if they had been sitting out for a bit before coming to the table, hard to understand as to why as there were only ourselves in, this was our second visit and it was like that on the first too, did not mention this to the waitress but we will return as it was tasty enough but shall ask to make sure the food is piping hot, I'm not sure I would recommend it to others though ,

Nos acabamos de volver de vacaciones, así que pensamos salir otro local para comer algo. Reservamos en línea un par de horas de antelación. Cuando llegamos era una cosa tras otra.

The food was good. We had the eggs Benedict and French Toast. The eggs were a little over poached and the French Toast a bit to dry. The Cocktails were good an the server was great.

Went late on Sunday night and the staff were still so accommodating and the kitchen was still fantastic even though we were the only people in! Food is great and wine is fantastic and so cheap!! I've not been here in years and the food and service has not changed - one of my favourite tapas' restaurants in Glasgow. This is a 5 min taxi from Glasgow central - make the trip, you won't be disappointed!
