Mandarin House in Medway

Everything was fine apart from what was meant to be chicken curry, usually delicious but my husband wasn't sure what meat this was supposed to be? Looks rather disgusting !

Absolutely vile. Chips were way over cooked and dry. Rice and chow mein was mushy and tasted watery. Half a pot of sweet and sour sauce. Used to be lovely, been using them since 95. Not any more.

Good Chinese and normally collect. Only downside is you always have to wait longer than they say. I don't mind waiting but just give me a more correct waiting time. Food is worth it though and BBQ ribs are awesome.

Best Chinese around. Food is always lovely. Yes you have to keep phoning but it's because its so good. Lovely staff there too.

Best Chinese in Rainham. Wont go anywhere else. The food is always spot on. Yes you have to ring a few things but that shows how nice this Chinese is.

staff are lovely. food quality isn't great anymore. i literally feel my rice had gone off. didn't taste how it normally taste when i ordered. had to throw all my orders away. i'm really sad about this.

Tried for the 1st time tonight was bang on time and food was amazing would go as far as to say is the best Chinese I've had in medway.

Love this place, the Singapore noodles are spectacular!! The Satay sauce is the best I've ever had. Delivery is quick and on time, potion size is decent and the prices are fair.

Not sure about the 2hour wait for my food, 50mins of that waiting for the restaurant to accept the order (that I placed on the app)... Food was barely warm as well, not sure I'd order again, especially with no option to pay by card... Pretty disappointed.

Service is nice and friendly, as it's always been. However, both food quality and quantity have decreased dramatically. Won't be returning, sadly.

We recently moved and decided to give Mandarin House a try. We have now had 3 meals from here. The chow mein is very good with a really nice char grilled flavour. Unfortunately the rest of the dishes we have tried were not as good as our previous go to Chinese takeaway so we will be retunring to Parkwood Chinese in the future.

My go to Chinese. Food is always piping hot and tastes great.

I am really confused as to why we have to give our card details over the phone. Doesn’t that mean they can use those details for anything? Apart from that, the customer service was really good

The mandarin house used to be one of the best in rainham for grabbing a late meal for us late workers until they decided to cut down their opening times. Now they are on the slippery slope to the loss of custom.its like they don't want the custom anymore. BAD.

First time using this take away and it is now our go to Chinese from now on! Everything was absolutely delicious and also hot when arrived. The chilli and salt chips were delicious, but then again so was everything we ordered. Thank you for a delicious dinner Mandarin House. We will be returning customers for sure and will highly recommend to everyone.

Used the app for the first time, ordering in advance. It worked well and the food arrived on time. The food arrived hot and was very tasty. Our only criticism is the excessive amount of onions in the dishes (unfortunately this seems common to many restaurants).

Very small portion compared to Parkwood Chinese. Lacking in flavour. Freezing cold in shop while waiting. Sorry not coming back.

Took the star off solely because it's a nightmare to get someone to answer the phone (30mins of redialing) and there is a long waiting time but the food is amazing. Peking House is our new regular because they answer the phone quicker 🥳

Just eaten our takeaway. Have to say that was the best beef in chilli in back bean sauce I've tasted in a long time. Tender slices of beef, crispy green pepper and onions and tasty sauce with egg fried rice. Well. done

Amazing food and delivery best in Rainham always hot

Duck pancakes dry, prawn crackers stale, chicken balls greasy. Rice and chow mein were the only edible dishes. Disappointed.

We are visiting the area and thought we would try the Mandarin. Food cooked while you wait. Food tasted excellent, tasty and plenty of it. Staff very friendly.

Food is nice, delivery takes a while. I am absolutely astounded by the fact that there were no prawn crackers included in my £30 order! I am a loyal and regular customer, so I expect the top level of hospitality when I order food.

The dishes had a very rich and authentic taste (prawn noodle and veggie) .good value and great taste.

This used to be a favourite of my family , but no longer ,xmas eve order was mostly inedible chicken balls were soggy ant the other dishes dry and tasteless even the sauce was a throw away ,such a disappointment for an xmas treat

Favourite Chinese takeaway, great food and great service everytime.

Lovely fast service. Less than 15 mins wait. And one of the few take aways where the crispy beef remains that way and does not end up chewy

This chinese used to be amazing years ago and I love confuscious but just had delivery and the prawn balls were fried do much inedible, sauces were watery and chicken satay very dry ... such a shame

Very disappointed, chicken in dishes chewy , crispy aromatic duck, well it's was dried up and tough, the accompanying cuecumber and spring onion had seen better days. Over all the bin had more of our meal than we did.

This is our Chinese takeaway of choice. The food has never been disappointing and I guess you stick with what you know. Always delivered hot, but you never know when its going to arrive as they use their own app which doesn't provide ETAs etc. Otherwise faultless

Friendly staff, fast service,meals always well presented, drivers always polite and look aperitsing, they always have a good amount of dishes on their menu. Not a resteraunt as such but excellent takeaway or you can pick up, you can preorder if you wish or just turn up

Mandarin House have their own app which is nice and very convenient- however each time I have used it the speed at which a collection order is ready has been appalling In all cases it seems that the food is only cooked when you arrive to collect it (despite paying in advance). The quality of the food is great, but when using the app be prepared to wait when you get there

Always rated the food here but recently it has become increasingly difficult to order food. The last three times I have tried I have tired of listening to the engaged tone and I went elsewhere. Of course, you can just turn up and order but you will find there is an hour wait. This would be handy to know about however, there is no way of knowing in advance because they don't answer the phone.. It's a shame but it's a dealbreaker for me. Takeaway food is meant to be convenient. There is nothing convenient about this place anymore. If I can't get through to order, what's the point?

We have been coming here for years can get very busy so order early food excellent.

This has been our takeaway choice for years. Last weekend we ordered at 6:20pm & 2 hours later still waiting for our delivery. Tried phoning and after multiple attempts over about a half hour period we got an answer. Was told order was on its way & yet it was another 30 minutes before it arrived. We suspect our order had been forgotten & was hurriedly cooked after we rang to moan. We’ve also noticed the standard of the food has deteriorated over the last couple of orders. This is disappointing as we’ve been regulars since we moved here 15 years ago. Unfortunately we’ll be going elsewhere in future. If they had offered a discount, extra voucher cards or even at least been a bit apologetic then that would have been something but nope. A shame. I would avoid ordering for delivery.

Good food,lovely meal. Standard go-to chinese takeaway. But the last few times, we’ve experienced really long waits - they need more kitchen staff or more drivers... once it arrives, it’s great! Don’t say “40 minutes” or “1 hour” when it takes 1 hr 40! V annoying and puts us right off. And no apology...

Went here after my usual Chinese had been closed down by health inspectors...always worrying...so glad I did because their food is far better quality and better priced..can be really busy at times so best to order and collect.

We ordered via there online app, for a delivery at 6.30 ( ordered at 6ish), we weren’t rung or told they couldn’t deliver. 31calls later (as they didn’t pick up the phone) and at 7.25 we got hold of them, and they said - no on a Saturday it’s 1hr wait - so in the end with collected it ourselves, for some reason they don’t think it’s important to share this information with online orders. Considering they developed their own app why didn’t they update it with delivery slots? Food was ok, but we ate so late 8ish in the end with 2 children after we ended up going to collect it ourselves. Pointless should have gone to hons instead!

We have used Mandarin house constantly since discovering it a few years ago when moving to Rainham. It is without doubt and my opinion the best food for a chinese i have had regardless of a restuarant or takeaway. The food is always gorgeous and ample servings. Also there is an app that can be downloaded for hassle free orderinf but surprisingly i have never seen Mandarin house on just eat etc so make the effort and try it you wont be disappointed if you are in the area!!

Absolutely disgusting service !! Pure greed from these people !! Had a back log of customers that had been waiting for hours for there dinner , some coming in to complain that there orders were over 2 hours late , I witnessed the staff lying to customers on the phone saying there dinner was on its way when in fact I hadn’t even been cooked ! The reason I’m leaving this bad review is because the restaurant would not stop taking orders over the phone even though they could not cope with the demand ! To them it was more money to the customers it was a 2-3 hour wait , awful , I will never go back

Don't bother .go somewhere else .special chow main .no prawn .no meat no something special. Just .a tin of luncheon meat .not very special. Me do think ..over all .one bad dish has cost them lots tonight. .my best advice. Go somewhere else

We chose 3 set menus and some vegetarian dishes (family gathering for 18). The food was so fresh and delicious, plenty left over for next day.

Reasonable quality food, delivery times are ok, can get busy, expect to wait an hour for delivery during busy periods, their mains have started to contain large chunks of onion as a filler to try and keep their cost/prices down Delivery times have become very long recently, had to wait 90 minutes for our last delivery.

Ordered from this place many times, however was shocked to order from here and not only receive our food late which we had ordered Over an hour before (only 3 dishes) and receive rude service from the driver (who already had dried blood on his face) my siblings had also ordered just beforehand and waited nearly 2 hours for theyre food am extreemly dissappointed at how this place has gone downhill

I've never had a bad experience here. Mandarin House is always really clean, and the food is well cooked and tastes lovely, the portion sizes are just right but you can get smaller portions of certain dishes if you ask, very good value for money. Friendly people who are always polite to everyone. One of the best Chinese Takeaways in the area and definitely my favourite.

On recommendation by a friend I decided to give Mandarin House a go and I’m so glad I did. It was early Saturday evening and I placed a large order for 9 people using their app which was so easy to use giving you options to either collect or deliver, choose a specific time and to pay either by PayPal or cash. I chose to have it delivered now and pay cash to the driver and within 35-40 minutes it arrived by a very friendly delivery man. The food was absolutely fabulous, very tasty and went down a treat. Definitely the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in Medway and will definitely be using again.

We phoned up at 7.10 tonight to be told there was a 1hr 30 wait.

The food at this take away is pretty good but it is a bit salty for me. It's been running for years though which is a good sign. Friendly staff and the do deliver in the local area.

Been using for as long as I remember would not suggest anywhere else.

Live fairly local to this Chinesse takeaway and find it very good in general, especially now that they made the effort to tidy the place up a bit. Most evenings you don’t normally have to wait to long, but Saturdays are a real pain as it gets really busy. I’d always recommend phoning your order through beforehand and then pick up yourself. If you don’t you could be looking at a 40 min wait in the shop. But definitely worth a visit.
