Mancoco in Manchester

I had a 3 hour 'Experiencing Espresso' session at Mancoco today. If anyone wants a deeper understanding of how to operate barista machines, dialling in shots, steaming milk to perfection and tasting international coffees then look no further. There is a lot covered in what seems a short space of time, expertly led by the capable Dan who has a fantastic knowledge of the coffee industry. I had a great time on this session and I look forward to applying my new skills at home.

Best black coffee. Variety of beans. I recommend the Manchester and Brazilian blends. The milk drinks are ok. The food section could be better.

While there is a good range of sandwiches/bagels, they are pre-packed and not particularly full of fillings. They are the only downside I've experienced. The cakes and pastries are nice which helps, and the hot chocolate is good though inconsistent. It is a nice place to sit and read a book during lunch though, so I will continue to visit £13 for a sandwich, crisps, cookie and a regular hot chocolate.

Good Coffee. Tables often occupied by laptop campers for excessive amounts of time.

Mancoco Coffee Bar & Roastery is a hidden gem in Manchester! The coffee is exceptional, with beans roasted in-house for that perfect fresh, bold flavor. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready with great recommendations. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality, and the cozy ambiance makes it a great spot to relax or work. Don’t miss their single-origin espresso—it’s fantastic or simply a flat white! Highly recommend for any coffee lover.

Staff were rude. Asked if they could do an iced cappuccino as on the menu it says all drinks can be made iced. And they replied that's not really a thing. Then whilst making our drinks made rude comments about how this isn't Starbucks and cold foam isn't a thing. Don't advertise being able to do all drinks iced if you can't and don't make customers feel uncomfortable for asking a question a polite we don't do those here would have been fine.

Great beans freshly roasted here. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. I attended a latte art course at the barista school which was excellent. Dan who was running it was excellent despite my limited ability. Loads of good information, sessions and plenty of time and feedback for all levels of ability.

The coffee is ssoo 🫰🏻 They use Sumatera bean coffee as one out of three house blend coffee beans!

Terrible long black. Large cup completely filled to the brim. Took back to counter. Guy just tipped some out and handed back. Ok… that’s still not a Long black. Won’t return. Overrated.

I had an amazing coffee brew introduction lesson here. Loura just prepared great lesson content and encouraged me a lot about tasting and different coffee flavors. Also I tried to make different types of brewing that led by Loura. I found my favourite flavor after drinking sooo many years coffee😂 Would definitely suggest this great lesson and visit here again for more coffee and lessons.

Found this coffee shop out of shear luck and it was quite the find! it has great coffee and it was a nice place to relax for a bit while sightseeing. The staff was friendly and the coffee was great !

We attended a class with Dan at the barista school and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to listen to someone who is so passionate about his job. We learnt so much in one afternoon and I can't wait to go back for more bags of coffee and to try the cafe. It was a great birthday present!

Been living in town for years and somehow only discovered this the other month! Really cool atmosphere inside with great tasting coffee. Interesting how it’s Roastery is connected to the shop where you can just go visit. Nice if you want a specific flavour profile with plenty of options available. Staff are friendly and polite so would recommend to give it a visit if you’re in town for the day!

I've visited an embarrassing number of coffee shops and Mancoco is far and away the best. You won't find better coffee or cake anywhere else - plus the baristas are super friendly and the decor is lovely. Get here early to get a seat!

Nice coffee, a hidden gem in Manchester.

Specialty coffee very close to the center of Manchester. The place is small but very quiet and cozy. The coffee I ordered was large and was spectacular. It cost me about 3 pounds, a very good price for England. I also tried a pasta and it was delicious. To finish achieving perfection, the super friendly and smiling waiters :)

An excellent roaster and a wonderful café. In my opinion, it is the best in Manchester. The staff is friendly and helpful. I tried their V60, an Ethiopian crop, and it was excellent. I took with me from the roaster their Ethiopian crop ✅ Their place is under the bridge 📍

The coffee was good and the service was alright, but my coffee spilled because the tables they had inside were wobbly and kept moving. I did like the location, very cool and located a bit hidden, and whatever coffee I was able to had left was tasty.

Mi primera visita a esta intrigante cafetería bajo los arcos ferroviarios con un personal agradable y amable. El blanco plano descafeinado era excelente (tan bueno que compré una bolsa de granos de su tostadora de al lado - gran relación calidad-precio también). La calidad era excepcional; una cerveza fuerte y rica con sabores finos y sutiles, si viviera más cerca, este sería mi lugar habitual. ¡Clase alta!

Gran servicio, el personal era amable y paciente. La comida era buena (un bagel bien pre-hecho) aunque la sección de postres era fantástico (fui por una rubia de limón y arándano - muy recomendable). No puedo comentar sobre el café específicamente, pero hacen un buen chai latte y lo ofrecen helado, lo que no he encontrado que muchos lugares haciendo. Super cerca de la estación de Castleield de Deansgate, pero la cafetería en sí puede ser un poco difícil de encontrar (escondido detrás de las paredes del puente de tren). Los precios eran razonables, el servicio era rápido, nada de qué quejarse!

Great coffee shop and roasters in the centre of Manchester, pick up your fresh beans and have a coffee whilst sat in. Really easy to get to ok the tram or to walk to, just near Deansgate station.

A menudo vengo a Mancoco para un blanco plano por la mañana y el personal detrás del mostrador siempre es acogedor y amable y siempre están dispuestos a una conversación amistosa. El café como acabo de decir siempre es bueno, ya que tienen una tostadora al lado y debido a que es un tueste más ligero que la mayoría de los lugares, la calidad es mucho mejor que la mayoría de las cafeterías. Very good espresso and long black

Nice, quiet coffee shop with a variety of table sizes. The coffee was ok; the cakes were good and well priced. You can also buy freshly roasted beans to take home, of which they have a wide variety, nicely laid out on a menu and grouped by continent of origin. Be careful if you order a cappuccino: their standard size is huge, so the drink will be very milky.

Been looking for a good coffee shop (not chain) for some time . You can't get any better than this one . Brilliant coffee and relaxing atmosphere. 😊

This is only my opinion and may be biased, but please give it a go! It's worth the try. The staff there are very friendly too. Favourite drinks there are the mocha, flat white and matcha latte!

Tucked away, with the sound of trains passing overhead, it is a small but atmospheric coffee bar. I like the way the seating is "segregated" by mesh backing so you feel like you still have some privacy in such a small space

This coffee shop is a real treat! Hidden away underneath a railway arch it's easily missed but I would thoroughly recommend it for its quality coffees roasted on the premises. Expertly served. The cakes and sandwiches are also excellent. A real discovery!

A fantastic little roastery and coffee shop. We have been using their beans in our coffee machine for months after realising our fav breakfast place (Ezra and Gill) uses their beans. Also a great little place for a quick takeaway coffee or drink in.

It was a hidden gem I’ve just founded.Exquisite coffee I barely know,with unique vibe to enjoy though it’s a bit narrow seating areas.

I've only ever tried the mocha, which is just outstanding. My morning fix. Also to say the staff are the best you could ever hope for. Great to chat with them whenever I go in and so friendly, and even if they weren't, the coffee is quite simply breathtaking. Best in Manchester and up there with anything I've tried worldwide.

Best coffee in Manchester! My girlfriend and I go most mornings. Staff are friendly and welcoming and coffees are consistently great. We also use the Espresso Blend beans at home which are our favourite.

I had a cake and a flat white. Coffee is cheaper than some of the usual well known coffee shops and better in my opinion. Hidden away under arches close to Deansgate railway station. Next door to the coffee shop they grind their own coffee beans.The aroma from there is fantastic. Well worth a visit and it's good to support our own independent coffee shops.

I love ManCoco - ever since they opened (I think it might've been 2019) I've been coming weekly and the coffee is invariably great. Smells amazing as well from a hundred yards.

Great speciality coffee shop & roastery tucked away in a railway arch next to Deansgate Metrolink. Serving delicious coffee, teas, pastries and sandwiches. Relaxing decor in an interesting setting. Coffee prepared & served by professional baristas. Don't forget to take away some freshly roasted coffee beans from the roastery nextdoor. The smell alone is worth the visit. Not into coffee then by from an expensive range of loose tea.

Great selection of high quality, freshly roasted single origin coffees. You know it’s fresh when you see the sacks of beans going straight into the roaster.
