Federal Cafe in Manchester

I was served by Josh on Oxford road and he was so friendly and helpful, I was struggling on what to decide for my order and Josh recommended the steak and eggs, which I absolutely loved. Will definitely be coming back

My favourite breakfast place! Their turkish eggs are incredible as well as the halloumi and mushroom sandwich <3 Had the special of the week white chocolate matcha today and it was probably the best matcha I've ever had😳 The only thing is I do think it's a bit cheeky putting the service charge on, considering you have to order at the till🫣

Solid option for coffee and breakfast/brunch. I tend to keep it simple with avo toast or avo bagel and they've been super helpful with dietary needs. Always a friendly and welcoming place with the best coffee (they use Ozone) in this part of town.

Totally spot on Breakfast Slightly on the expensive side, but we are Manchester, and you get what you pay for I wouldn't que, and on a cold Wednesday morning, didn't have to. But I've seen ques before, 30 mins wait. If you want a treat, and it is quiet, I'd defo recommended

Staying at a hotel locally and found this gem! The French toast was amazing and my husband loved his steak sandwich. As made fresh to order you can adapt your dish which is great. The place has a good vibe and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. My new go to place when I am in Manchester!

Arrived at Federal, early NYD to be greeted by Christine. She was so warm and welcoming, very genuine. She seated us promptly. We both ordered a nutty granola bowl and a flat white, which Christine brought to our table. The bowls were the best we’d ever had and the coffee is always excellent there. Christine is a fantastic member of staff and a credit to Federal. Keep up the amazing work 😊

Our visit to Federal was just made by our wonderful server / host Christine! She was the best thing about the whole place! Food and drinks were amazing also. Free hot choc and brownie in the line outside too that moved so fast! Christine was so wonderful and helpful can’t recommend enough x

The wait out in the cold wasn’t my favourite thing but the food and service more than made up for it. Super quick service here with the French toast I got being so yummy!! A little pricey but not too different to any other popular cafe in that regard, I wouldn’t go in a group bigger than 2 or it’ll take longer to be seated. I’d deffo recommend on a quieter day ❤️

Absolutely lovely. The staff is amazing and super friendly - especially helpful and considerate of allergies. The food is amazing, though a little on the expensive side. It’s small, the vibe is immaculate, but doesn’t feel cramped.

Such a lovely, lovely place! Natalia made us feel so welcome and chatted to us while we waited! She also gave us some suggestions of food/drinks to try. The free mini hot chocolate was a bonus :)

I love Federal Cafe Bar! They serve delicious breakfasts, have a super friendly staff, and the location is perfect. There might be a bit of a queue sometimes, but it's totally worth it. You should definitely give it a try!

I was on my way to an appointment I was a little nervous for and went into the Oxford road federal to grab a coffee this afternoon, one of the girls working recognised my morph keyring on my bag and was so friendly and gave me a little card for a free coffee. Her and her colleagues kindness really made me remember how nice people can be and forget all about the appointment worries for a while. The girl is a real credit to your team 🫶🏼 Please let her know morph’s instagram is @moopy.morph.bearpark if she wanted to follow it lol

Ok we had to queue, for quite a while. But, oh boy, the wait was worth it. Whilst waiting we were treated to some lovely nibbles and hot chocolate. Once seated, the service was incredibly warm and personable, and the food was absolutely lovely. I don’t live in Manchester, but if I did, this place would definitely be a regular spot for me!

Single visitor with mobility issues. First time visit, early on a Sunday morning. Front of house staff, friendly and incredibly accommodating to my needs. Great atmosphere, food delicious and served in a timely manner. Found access to the rest rooms a little challenging, however, all in all a pleasant experience . If visiting the area, would certainly recommend.

You’ve never met such a bunch of lovely people. I get my coffee from there everyday and everyone makes the effort to say hi and bye! Not to mention the coffee is soo good!

Staying in Manchester for a friends wedding and came here for breakfast before the big event. Ordered the Mushroom & Halloumi breakfast as well as a couple of pastry items. Wonderful atmosphere, food arrived arrived fast to the table and was incredibly delicious! Will definitely be going again when we visit.

Great option for a Brunch on a Sunday morning! Food was great and coffee didn’t disappoint either. Despite the long wait, the staff found ways to make it bearable- be ready to wait ~25min.

Feels like this place is hyped up and was really looking forward to it. I ordered fired eggs on toast. The eggs didn’t taste of anything and there was egg shell on the egg. Below average, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again.

The food did not arrive at the the same time for the table. My friends had almost finished eating when my food came. The food was cold. Service was below average.The door was left open, hence it was cold.

The Latte Art on the coffee is really nice, I am very impressed by this, it reflects the Barista is very experienced and good at his job, coffee tastes smooth and delicious too. Breakfast is also delicious, however I think it’s a bit pricey with service charge on top, we were served by waitress Billie, who provided average/minimum service, whilst other staffs seem to be more cheerful and friendly.

Excellent! Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel was outstanding! My partner had eggs Benedict and that was also delicious.

No word exists for me to describe my love for federals, the food, the staff - EVERYTHING is spectacular ! I come down annually for my birthday and this year the service was amazing ! Ellie that works in the oxford road branch was very helpful and really made my birthday visit a treat ! Will definitely be coming again and will ALWAYS recommend federals to anyone.

The food was good but felt like something was missing to add a little more depth to flavours in the dish. And is there a thing not to serve hash browns in Manchester??? For the price, I probably won't be coming back.

Never fails. Great coffees and all things brunch. Child friendly and charming service. You can also order via QR code which can also be convenient. Expect to queue on weekends because it’s worth it.

The staff are so friendly and cannot do more for you. There was a queue to be seated but worth the wait. The best French toast I have ever had. Coffee was good too. Would recommend to anyone coming to Manchester.

Desde el principio federal es siempre una opción de primera. Esta fue nuestra primera vez visitando este lugar. Es un poco más pequeño que la mayoría de los otros sitios, pero ofrece comida increíble, un ambiente acogedor y un gran servicio. El personal es muy amable y encantado de ayudar con todas sus peticiones. El menú es el menú federal habitual con una buena gama de bebidas y platos de brunch. El café con leche de remolacha era increíble. Con la remolacha siendo una fuente increíble de nutrición, finalmente encontrar un lugar que la tenga que no sea en un batido fue una bendición. Los huevos Benedicto XVI era bueno perfectamente. Yemas de huevo corriendo y masa madre fresca El filete de ciabatta fue cocinado a la perfección. Tiernas tiras de solomillo con un bollo de ciabatta fresco. Volvería a visitar este sitio 100%

We only had coffee, but having tried many in Manchester, this, and their other premises on Oxford Road, are by far the best. Reasonable price and friendly staff made for an excellent break.

Nice place for an upmarket breakfast, some good menu options (but don't expect a full English) - poached eggs cooked well and all tasted good, if you're looking for something better than a regular breakfast place then here is the place to go.

Extremely poor client service! Ordered a takeaway “coconut cappuccino”, the lady who took my order didn’t bother to notify me that they didn’t have coconut milk. I was served an oat cappuccino instead, when I mentioned that it wasn’t what I ordered, the lady started arguing and telling me that “she is sure that’s what I ordered”. Paid £4 for the wrong order and didn’t even get an apology from the stuff. Definitely not coming back.

I’ve been meaning to try this cafe for ages but there’s just always a queue usually. However it was really worth it. Really fast service, great food and nice staff.

Always a fan of federal, quite literally the best brunch in town and very literally the best French toast you will ever eat. Service is always great and the coffee never lets me down.

Halloumi and shrooms were amazing! Katy was great in recommending the best dishes on the menu and her service was 10/10!

After being gifted a voucher I have visited Federal several times over the past month and have no complaints whatsoever! Both the food and service is great - I'm writing my first google review today because of the kindness shown by Katy, who really made my day :)

Everything was very good, fast and pleasant service. It was crowded but it was possible to find a place. Lots of choice, everything looked very good. I recommend the banana bread. I would have liked to be able to order at my table rather than at the bar

The best Turkish eggs in Manchester by far! Thanks for the recommendation to the lovely waitress Leanne, who made me feel very welcomed. I'm a lover of yogurt so this went down a treat with nicely toasted sourdough and had a nice oat flat white to cleanse the pallet afterwards. Thanks again I'll be back

Today around 1:00 p.m. I bought a very bad coffee. I had stomachache all day and a lot of heartburn. I don't understand considering the price. It was a large size Latte. I couldn't finish it. I can only comment that the service was good but it bothered me that when paying the machine it asked me for a tip, considering that it was a takeaway coffee.

Despite the fact that a dish was not taken into account in the service, the waitress was able to apologize for this error. For the inconvenience, we had a cake and two tickets to come and have hot chocolate/coffee.

Incredible breakfast There is already a queue in front of the shop - so take your time :) We particularly recommend the French toast and the monthly special - burrata with sourdough bread. Very strong number! The coffee is also very good - latte art included - logo :) Unfortunately, it is very drafty, so it is comfortable and you almost have to be careful not to catch a cold due to the strong climate

It's a very busy place. I needed something to eat after my journey. 9:40 am - just a few free places. The staff was friendly. And my order was really within 10 minutes, high speed. Good place 👍

Absolutely loved this place. Great atmosphere, fantastic food, and the BEST coffee. We were served by Bruna who made us feel really warm and welcomed. She was the perfect waitress. Great smile, recommendations, and friendly conversation. We stayed for another drink because we felt so comfortable.

Federal Coffee is a nice place well located on Oxford Road close to the university and campus area.its about 15 minutes walk to the main shopping area such as The Arndale but there is plenty of public transport within easy reach.the staff were very friendly and the coffee is good.i didn't try the food though.the shop has easy access for the disabled but looks like it gets busy at times.worth a try if your nearby.

We came for breakfast. Ordered eggs anyways and halloumi and shrooms. The quality of food was good but could be slightly more creative. The shrooms option was great but eggs any way was very basic. It was a bit pricey.

Considering this is one of our regular breakfast places in Manchester due to how good the food/service normally is. Today was a bad day. The food was dry and didn't taste too good. the overall experience was different from all of the other times. Considering the price of this place the food and service could of been better!

The Fed’s great. It’s working the whole Antipodean brunch vibe beautifully. The Flat White (originally an Aussie invention) is spot on. We split a steak sandwich on crispy, light Ciabatta - and a triple stacked Club sandwich. Both delicious. They do a line in sweet brunch items too. However, we didn’t have room. Our server was charming. Come for the food and marvel at how the overseas students can afford to eat there! Recommended.

We all know it is the best brunch in town. Federal has good atmosphere and food. The only bad part is you have to queue a long time in rush hour. I remember i got some egg and a toast? The egg York is perfect in taste. Next time i gotta try their latte.
