Mamuska! in Southwark

He tenido grandes esperanzas en la comida polaca y me decepcionó mucho. La comida no era agradable en absoluto, oscypek no era fresco, pierogi con carne de sabor viejo. En general no recomendaría, definitivamente no me gusta la comida de mi Mamuśka

Ambiente stile loft, molto accattivante, servizio ai tavoli pessimo, vista l'attesa inaccettabile a locale semivuoto per prendere l'ordine e altrettanto inaccettabile per portare quanto ordinato. Pierogi buoni e il resto pure, servizi puliti. Consigliato chiedere all'arrivo i tempi d'attesa, per il resto ok.

This place has a very specific vibe, great if you like open spaces. The food could be better – everything we ordered was a bit under-seasoned, but still not bad overall. On the plus side, there was a free salad bar (at least during my visit), which was a nice touch. The deals were also good. We got the set menu for two, and the portions were so big we couldn’t finish everything – definitely a positive! Overall, I’d recommend it, but it’s not the coziest place. It’s more suited for hanging out with friends over drinks than for a romantic date. Still, worth checking out!

Having been to Krakow a few times I came across this place by chance as I would be in Waterloo, it did look a bit quiet when I first went in but soon started to get busier. The staff were very polite and the food was served up very quickly, I started with the Sausage Soup, boiled Pierogi and then the Chicken for mains, not to forget the overwhelming cream cake at the end. The staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for you, the food was very hot and filling, perfect for a wet Sunday evening in London. Would give this restaurant 10/10 and really cannot wait to go back, 2 mins from Waterloo Station.

Sehr gute polnische Küche, besonders die Pierogen (Teigtaschen) sind ein Traum. Gibt es in vielen Variationen. Salate wie bei Mama und polnisches Bier und viele Schnapsvariationen. Abends am besten Reservieren

Delicious food but poor customer service, we been sitting outside and waitress never came to us with menu or ask if we ok I had to get menus myself, but when large group of tourists turn up waiters been with them immediately, also i was asking tap water and waitress forgot to bring it. I think they more focused about larger groups of people than couples witch is not acceptable in work in hospitality

Nice place to hang out with friends and good service I have waited to go to this place for years, its longevity made me think that it must be worthwhile. However were the mains not only average. The pierogis were vile. The beef and pork looked and smelt like tinned tuna. I was so afraid I threw it up in the toilet. The staff were really sweet, I didn't give them a chance to rectify it but I wouldn't go again. The venue looks cool and you can feel the train shake you. Im sober but would be good for getting drunk.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Mamuśka Polish Restaurant. I had high hopes after hearing about it, but unfortunately, the visit fell short in several areas. The service was painfully slow, and the staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful when we asked questions about the menu. The food itself was another letdown. My meal was bland and lacked the authentic Polish flavors I was expecting. The pierogi were undercooked and the bigos was overly greasy. Considering the prices, I expected a much higher quality of food. The atmosphere was also less than inviting, with a cramped layout and a lot of noise that made it difficult to enjoy our meal. Overall, it was an unpleasant dining experience, and I won't be returning. I do not recommend this restaurant if you're looking for authentic Polish cuisine in London.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit to your establishment. On 19/07/2024, I had a disappointing experience due to the behavior of the manager. We were served by a young waitress who, as you can see, was very tired after a hard day at work. When it was time to pay, the owner came with a bank terminal and asked us what we had eaten? which seemed very strange because the waitress who served us before put everything on our tab. After a short while, we told the owner that we had a student discount and then he said that we looked too old to be students, which was very repulsive. I have nothing against the waitress, all the hard work fell on her to serve the bar and additionally the customers at the tables. I don't know if I will go back there again because the food was so-so, 5 dumplings cost £9 without any discount which is very expensive. Little mash potatoes with schnitzel £16.99 and, best of all, a salad buffet where all the containers were almost empty and I had to scrape the bottom to catch anything. It's clear that the management at this restaurant don't care about providing good service or making customers happy. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place and take their business elsewhere. If you have had or will have similar feelings, please leave a thumbs up so that the owner will finally change his approach to customers. Supposedly a Polish restaurant, but it actually has little to do with it. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and to receive good service when dining at any restaurant. I believe that the behavior of you as the owner reflects poorly on your establishment. I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve the customer experience at your restaurant. First look at Mamuska so nice place. Probably manager in white shirt talking just English not nice and push us back to the front because we didn’t wait. Local wasn’t too full few big tables empty. Zurek is not tasty. Pierogi sticky, cold inside and dry, coated with lots of bacon and onions. (too much). Potato Pancakes are not from fresh potato (grey inside) . All dishes with no salt and pepper. I am so disappointed after this visit. I visited few Polish restaurants in London and I am not happy what I saw here.

This restaurant is good for a casual night out. The decor is very impressive and reminds a traditional Polish barn with the wooden village tables and long benches to sit on. Traditional wooden ceiling logs are replaced by the metal ones and the brick walls add to authenticity of the country style. Even if the place is huge, the colourful lights warm up the space and positioning of the tables guarantees privacy and spacial comfort. Very nicely designed, indeed! Our waiter, Patryk, was very attentive and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him. As it transpired, he is a qualified musician and a singer so perhaps the owners could use young talents like him to create a singing waiters zone to general applause of the dining audience. A piano would be an asset - you will be surprised how many Poles play it! Piano is to Poles what guitar is to Spaniards! Food was very acceptable but being Polish I am always very critical about our traditional cuisine. The schabowy cutlet should have been more bashed to death and oscypek only lightly warmed up not baked to a cinder. Otherwise the menu has been highly approved by us including our vegan party members who raved about vegan version of traditional Polish dishes. So my Mother's Day celebration went without a hitch and in a tasty style. Dziekujemy and see you soon!

We looked online and knew what we wanted when we came in, but were open to ordering more and our server recognized that as she left a menu with us. The food was very tasty, and the drinks were the same. Our server Nell was not very attentive to us. We had been trying for over 15 minutes trying to get her attention. We tried eye contact, waving a hand, saying excuse me when she was near, but no dice. When she finally came to us, the first words she said was that the kitchen was closing soon. We put in another small order of a starter. After our second order, when she said we couldn’t order more after this, it took another 20 minutes of us just sitting trying to get the check. I had to ask someone cleaning tables for our checks because Nell literally never looked at us after she walked away. It was only frustrating because she would visit the same tables several times and stay there talking for a couple of minutes never even looking at us. The wait times I listed are not exaggerations. We spent more time trying to get her attention than we did eating.

I ordered a delivery through their website. The food arrived 3 hours late. The times I called they pretty much just dimissed me and told me to wait. The food was stone cold - it had obviously been sitting in a bag for 3 hours. The pierogi were under-seasoned, the barszcz tasted very strongly of vinegar - so much in it that you couldn't taste beetroots. The Paczki (donuts) were good but that hardly makes up for the terrible experience. Previous ocassions I ordered everything was good but this time not even receiving an apology and with the food being so awful I won't order again.

Loved the vibe at this authentic polish restaurant. Friendly staff. Great menu. Had the traditional pierogi - can have them steamed or steamed then fried - they were lovely. The dark beer is great - definitely worth a try.

I love trying different cuisines but often there is a language barrier as well as menus that are not in English. Came across Mamuska in Waterloo which is a Polish restaurant that is worth trying to discover Polish food. The restaurant is located under a train arch and it was nicely decorated with bits and bobs that make it look Polish like the letterbox, road signs etc. Although I have not visited Poland before, I felt that the menu was a good representation based on my findings at the local Polish supermarket. The menu and layout was good as it was descriptive with a personal touch laid out with pictures like a big establishment. They offer English food as well so it shows they know the food here as well as theirs. I liked the way they have given their dishes a Christmas twist like the dumplings filled with turkey and gravy even though turkey is not traditionally eaten in Poland. Just for fun, I ordered that. The dumplings were surprisingly nice with finely grounded turkey meat complemented by the gravy and cranberry sauce. The only thing I didn't like were the sunflower seeds which are a popular thing in Poland. I plan to return but it takes a long time for food to arrive even when they were not busy.

Delicious Polish food to try if you are in the Waterloo area. Excellent dinner and good atmosphere I recommend it to you!

Excellent! We were a large group and the staff looked after us brilliantly. They were very helpful and informative, explaining what was in the dishes. An excellent range of Polish food. The Polish and Ukrainian with us were both very impressed by the quality of the food, as were the rest of us. It was better than the Polish food I had in Gdansk a few weeks earlier. Don't be turned off by the appearance from the outside or the location. A special mention goes to Magda, our waitress who looked after us so well.

My wife found this restaurant on our last night in London, what a gem, our server Nell was awesome, her recommendation where spot on. Schabowy was excellent, pierogis dynamite and the white sausage was out of this world. Heard a rumour about this place, decided to pop in whilst in town. Had the dumplings, stew and tea. You can tell a lot about a place by the simple things, the tea arrived and it was delightful. I ordered the small portion of dumplings which was perfect as a starter to accompany the stew which arrived with some delicious bread, both dishes were delicious, not over complicated but still exciting. The venue is very cool looking, children will certainly enjoy the look of it. A great place, exciting food, great venue and wonderfully helpful staff.

Polish restaurant and waitresses wouldn’t speak Polish . Main course was brought out before starter. Miserable service , it costs nothing to smile and then they have a nerve to put a 12.5% service charge on the bill. It wasn’t only us, other tables were having mistakes with there orders .

We haven't been to Mamuska since December 2022 and dropped in for lunch. It was busy with locals and tourists, individuals and groups. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. And the food was as good as ever - tasty, filling and fun. We're long term residents in London and this remains one of favourite eating spots!

The ambience ispretty basic - raw brick and concrete and beer garden style tables and benches. But the food and drink is genuine Polish. Food is really tasty albeit stick to your ribs cuisine, and the staff are lovely. And genuine Polish beers and vodkas. If you are open to a genuine Polish food and drink experience you can’t do better , and the wait staff are super nice.

Food quality and taste is disaster. Mashed potato had no taste . Fries very fatty . Meat disaster. McDonald’s has Michelin star compare to food in Mamuska place

Our first time in a Polish restaurant…. What a delight!! We gorged ourselves on pierogi but also enjoyed the Schabowy!! This is comfort food at its finest! Fun environment in the old train arches. Prices were average.

Terrible experience. Our entire trip to London was great except for this place. We visited on Wednesday evening and had a great experience with the British server. Hats off to him as he made it so great we came back for a horrible time on our anniversary. Went there with our family and was sat next to a large loud table. Drinks were inconsistent and nothing like Wednesday. My wife got a perfect one and mine had a large chunk of ice and no liquid. I asked for another with less ice and it was much better, but of course charged for another drink. We ordered a bunch of pierogis and was never asked if we preferred boiled or fried, we were served boiled without option and it was not good. Family was falling asleep and drinks were finished before our long food wait. Only a partial order was brought out. Missed a kids meal we had to mention to the waitress, which sat and the plate got hot on the warming station and handed off to my nine year old that mentioned the plate was very hot. Lucky he was not burned. Also only got half of the beef pierogi. Waitress never once asked how everything was. We finished eating and sat and waited for our bill, but it never came and our server was nowhere to be found. We decided to go up front and pay there. Holy smokes, our server was eating dinner. I spotted the gentleman that provided the excellent experience prior and told him he did a great job, but tonight was terrible in comparison. He offered up a conversation with the manager. I said sure, it should be known. She was so worthless and only made excuses. She was the one that sat a family next to the large, loud party table while the entire one side of the restaurant oddly sat completely empty. I asked if it’s better to come on a Wednesday and she said it was quite busy on Friday (but again more than 1/2 of the places tables were completely empty on just the one side). Excuse after excuse she did nothing to resolve the issues. Claiming lots of ice is needed to do something and that it’s somehow better. Look, this is not my first round, more ice means less Prosecco, which the waitress even told me exactly that. I ordered a drink with all the ingredients not just ice. Told the manager it is our anniversary, she didn’t care. Nothing was done to correct the bill or offer any kind of accountability for the experience and said we should have said something earlier. Well I did and nothing was done about the drink, finally got the kids meal after asking and walked up to pay my bill.. in full, ‘service fee’ and all. Holy moly don’t go here unless you wanna roll the dice. Lots of places to eat that are far more consistent. My kids said our server on Wednesday should be promoted to manager and I couldn’t agree more. All the best, hope they can improve in the future as it is a great location if nothing else.

Popped in with my family on our first night in London as we were staying nearby. Was taken aback when the waitress said that one dish we went to order, Schabowy, "isn't nice", and encouraged us to order the (slightly) more expensive 'Schabowy Tower" instead. Our order wasn't read back to us, so we weren't totally surprised when a dish we had mentioned but didn't order - "chips with melted cheese (and unmentioned sausage bites!)" - turned up as well. Much carry on ensued when we asked to send it back. And to my surprise a 12.5% service fee is automatically added to the bill, so you end up tipping even when the service isn't satisfactory. In other news: the food was stodgy and overpriced for what it was; and the "salad bar" is four types of fermented vegtable. I wouldn't recommend a visit.
