Mamta in Hartlepool

Food is always delicious. We usually go and pick up but have had delivery once which took a bit longer than expected but the food made up for it. Definitely recommend

We have ordered here for months. Food has been great. Tonight we ordered a Kiev Parmo and received a Parmo Kebab. My wife had eaten a quarter before she realised it wasn’t chicken. I asked for a refund as it was 09:30 pm They said they would only refund half the money. I hung up and couldn’t believe it. Absolutely shocking customer service, I won’t be ordering again ever!

Got my order wrong and when I phoned up they refused to send a replacement and told me never to order again !!! The attitude on the person ( not the one answering the phone but who ever he was speaking to was disgusting)

I ordered a 12" polo pizza with mushrooms and a tub of garlic it was plenty of filling on it and it was just under £10 the chicken had no fatty bits in so that's another bonus 100%

The smallest chicken kebab with hardly any salad disappointed considering everyone rates other food. And our take away was over half an hour late and cold on arrival.

Food quality is exceptional, one of the best Indian takeaways I've had. But the 2hr 30 minute delivery time was far too long, particularly with the extortionate delivery/service fees applied by Uber.

Had a great take-away from Mamta on Friday 20 January 2023. Chicken Biryani (with vegetable curry) and a Peshwari naan. Very tasty, nicely spiced and a very good portion. Will be more adventurous next time.

Has always been a nice takeaway, but their delivery service lets them down. Ordered a sat night takeaway, and they forgot to deliver pizza. Arrived 1.5 hrs later with the promise that our next order would have lots of extras by bloke on the phone. Gave them another go on the following day. Food arrived 40 mins late, cold, and with no extras. If you say you are going to do something, at least follow it through. Probably won’t use again.

Food was pretty nice. Curry had lots of flavour, chips were passable. Review gets knocked down because I felt the food is quite overpriced, not including sides aswell. Also quite a long wait time.

Very tasty food. Not too greasy and bags if flavour. Try the wraps. Amazing.

Heard about the Parmo been good and have to say unreal best I've had in Town and the pizzas were lovely too. my new place ace.

Curry Flavoured Pizzas, Game Changer X

If they had the food ready for when their collection time stated, it would be 4 stars. Food was not ready until 25 minutes after I got there.

Ordered knowing how amazing food here has been.Food came on time. The best part was the onion salad which was nicely flavoured but may have been made prior to today as just eat reported my food was delayed initially. The raita was a pot of yoghurt with 6 cucumber slices, the king prawn chilli Masala priced at £10.49 or 69 consisted of 4 king prawns which weren't fresh as they smelled and I had to put the naan in the oven as it was tasted undercooked. Not loving the meal at all tonight

Mamta internal love that’s what I felt like yesterday , eating the Finest Indian Takaway I’ve had for a long time, everything tasted great , the chicken was succulent and light , the pickle was refreshing , brought back the faith in ordering a take away in Hartlepool

The takeaway was to amazing. Fresh herbs fresh chilli the Biriyani was full of flavours and having visited Sri Lanka the food was right on par with the Indian Ocean cuisine. We wasnt disappointed literally the best indian in the north east.

I have never waited so long for a takeaway to be delivered to find out its not coming because they have gave it to someone else. And the person in the phone didn't have a clue what to say and made no sense. The fact I pre ordered aswell and still they messed it up. Worst service ever. They said they were making a fresh batch to be sent out to us. Let's see if it arrives, and if it has just been thrown together. Not happy at all.

Always friendly staff and excellent quality of food

Our usual choice for an indian take away as the food is always nice. Tonight though they have changed things for the better. The chicken is now larger and taste much nicer. Also lots of it. The nan is now larger. They did forget the rice but send it straight out and it arrived 10 minutes later so the food was not cold. Great customer service. Please keep this up as it is one of the only nice indians in the town.

Always incredible food, fresh non oily and flavoured properly. Out of all hartlepool indian takeaways this is the best one for flavour and value. This says a lot as I've tried them all. Lovely service too. Always our go to indian food takeaway.

Had most tasty delivery even came 20 minutes earlier than I thought which was great. Food was hot, tasty and well presented. Delivery guy was very friendly too

We were staying in Crimdon Caravan Park, we were cruising along 9 in the evening so we thought we will find an Indians and take it to our caravan. We went along York Road were we saw this place well it looked nice from outside so we decided to order from there, we spent £20. The food was terrible worst bland food I had eaten after a long time and the mint sauce they have put in the bag the sauce was all over the carton inside, I overcame this mess and put everything on the table was disappointed lack of authentic flavour and the Sheek Kebab Just fell apart it wasn’t skewered properly its cheap mince were the supplier puts too much fat in the mince than the meat you have to ask the supplier to give you good mix mince (I know this). Definitely not going there again.

Best Indian curry at hartlepool

Not the best in town by any stretch. Prompt delivery is about the only positive feedback i can give. Food wasn't particularly hot on arrival, the hariali wasn't anything like a hariali that i've ever had (extremely disappointing) and the chips are like pizza shop fries instead of nice chunky ones you normally expect. The portion was very small also; i certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to go back.

My wife and I have just enjoyed chicken dupiaza and ginger chicken with Keema and garlic nans with special rice. I have tried a few Indians since I have been back and this is the best one to date. All of the others were quite bland. Not this one. Very flavoursome and the food was very hot. Thank you for restoring my faith in Hartlepool Indian restaurants.

This place has to serve the worst indian food I've ever eaten.We ordered a take away for our family night in and ended up putting it in the bin.The sauces were clearly bought in and tasted like someone had used a cheap indian sauce from a jar.Cant believe they actually charge people for this poor food . Would never use again !!!

Ordered last night, two mains, 1 appetiser, two nan breads, chips and dips, around five pounds more than my normal haunt. Arrived quite quickly which was good but 1 main was the wrong order. Whilst ordering he read back and I corrected him and was told, yes sorry, but we got what he said in the first place. Good portion size, my main was nice, nan breads had very little filling, quite bland and chips were small thin frozen style. Complimentary bahjis were nice and light but overall think the quality does not live up to the service and would probably not try again.

I bought myself and my son a takeaway from here, and whilst I was eating my starter I almost ate a small piece of metal, like a bristle from a wire brush, luckily it was in my meal and not my sons, I shudder to think what might have happened if one of us had swallowed it. I have never wrote a review on trip advisor before but I think that this is important enough to let everyone know about my experience. Never again!!!

We have used delhi express since it opened and always had good food delivered hot. However as I was looking about on the net for something to eat I noticed that DE had become Mamtas and the reviews were not good. We were hungry and mamtas was the only one opening early so we decided to ignore the reviews and try it. Pleased we did. Food delivered when they said....food was hot......food was as good as DE and we still got the complimentary onion bhajis. The naan could have been baked longer for me but it wasn't under done. AND there was enough left for a mid day snack for us today. Not worried any longer, will continue to use in future.

I ordered a take away tonight, the meal came and it was stone cold. Everything, naan bread, curry, EVERYTHING. When I called to complain all I received was abuse over the phone and basically told "well it was delivered the minute it was cooked"! As I argued and said clearly not as everything that I put out on the plate was stone cold I was shot down and again told it's been delivered fresh so deal with it! I wouldn't dream of ordering from this place again. I tried to warm up the curry but again it was vile and full of salt. This place really cannot call themselves an Indian takeaway. Vile vile vile! Don't go or entertain this place. One, they cannot cook decent food, two, it can't be delivered hot, and three, the customer service is a disgrace! Waste of money!

Hemos pedido de Mamta durante un número de años y he tenido experiencias cuando los acompañantes no entregado con la comida pero han sido entregados más tarde. Esta noche sin embargo, el servicio y la comida eran ambos abismal. Pedimos nuestro menú típico. El pollo Tikka plato era la mitad del tamaño, seco y sin sabor. Los platos principales estaban aguados y sosa. Nuestros platos de lado llegamos, dos horas y media después de haberlo pedido que era una hora y media después de la cena, después de dos llamadas de teléfono. En la primera llamada, se sugirió que la próxima vez que no ocurriría pero nos quedamos atrapados por los lados para ser entregado. Una hora y veinte minutos más tarde tuvimos que llamar otra vez para que le dijeran que no creo que no queremos más. Finalmente los lados llegamos, con pequeños adicionales, pero demasiado tarde para nosotros a apreciar el gesto o comer con nuestra comida. Habiendo tenido demasiadas experiencias ahora donde los pedidos están parcialmente enviado y, debido a la cada vez más variable y a la mala calidad de la comida junto a un aumento constante del precio, ya no puede usar este servicio de comida para llevar de restaurantes.

Always order from Delhi Express, wouldn't go to another Indian. Lovely food, very pleasant staff. accommodating to requests. Quick delivery usually within half an hour. Very tasty and good portion sizes. Cannot fault it.

I absolutely love the food here and think that it is a real treat whenever a Mamta (now Delhi Express) is ever suggested. I have eaten from this take away countless times and have never once been disappointed. The portions are ample and all of the sundries are delicious. Would recommend to anyone who loves Indian food and even those who don't because I have known this place to convert quite a few curry haters. Truly spectacular.

Great authentic food! It's a little more expensive than other takeaways but tastes much more authentic and is delicious. Love the onion bhajis that they send as a free addition to your meal. Always delivered in a reasonable time too!

Have previously eaten from here and the food was good, but something has obviously changed. Ordered a king prawn dish.. 4 large prawns, still had shells on, hard as rubber, and still had digestive tract in (At over 10 pounds alone). thought we could at least enjoy the madras dish.. tasted like a spoon of salt had been spilled in it. Never again..

Tried this takeaway when it first opened a few years ago, and though, oh yes!, after a few weeks, tried it again, and guess what?..... exactly the same. The food is really nice well presented and as someone else said in a review, a little over priced, but worth it if your treating yourself after a long day or hard week at work.Cant wait till my wifes off her diet so we can enjoy the food from here again.

Tonight we decided to give Mamta a chance, having read the reviews on this site. It did not fail to impress. Normally my children would be disappointed that we were having an Indian, but they actually said "this is the best Korma I've ever had". We decided to have Onion Bahjis for starter...I thought one or two possibly...but no FOUR in addition free vegetable pakora, double the popadoms and portions to fill even the hungriest of person..with plenty of chicken.But the quality was also excellent, tasty not just hot. Yu could differentiate the spices in my Dopiaza.I really would recommend this takeaway to anyone, even the waiting area is clean, modern and comfortable, we were able to watch Murray win his round at Wimbeldon. Well done Mamta.

Food is fresh tasting & restaurant quality. Costs a few quid more but totally worth it. If you only have one take away a month you won't regret getting it from here.

I love the 'JalKorma' that they do here at Mamta, I have never seen it anywhere else and this is the sole reason I come here. The complimentary onion bhaji's when you order are a very nice gesture. I prefer home made chips as opposed to frozen... My only real criticism is that I think the chefs are sometimes a little too heavy handed on the salt.

Food is lovely, i prefer indian to chinese so always goto mamta, 9 out of ten visits the food is beautiful so if you try it and dont like it try it again, what i like about it is the food isnt illuminous like most indian takeaways, dont mind paying a liitle more if the foods nice

looks stunning from outside always wanted to try it . usually we favour tandoori nights but decided to go mamta for something a bit different. did not know wat to expect as a asked the waiter to recommend me to my taste. he seem to think a was a novist in idisn cusine an asked me if a had had it before ... told him my favourite an were a go for it . thinking nothing of it we orded the food . once we recived it an went hme thinking the amount we paid that we were going to get sumthing special .... WAS SO NOT IMPRESSED !!!

We are regular customers of Mamta and are never disappointed. The food is always of great standard and the customer service is always great. I wouldn't class this as any more expensive than any other Indian takeaway in town and is always worth every penny. Would definitely recommend the chicken bhuna and sag aloo!!

Excellent food a tad expensive but worth it. The menu suits to all tastes I don't really like spicy food but the chicken pasanda is mild a delicious
