cold food. hour late. won't be back.

The food was insane spicy and they didn’t mention in menu whether it’s spicy or not. Straight away I thrown in the bin. I can’t believe it’s so so much spicy.

Food arrived cold, lamb bhuna was really oily & the potatoes in the saag aloo was dry, gutted as it’s normally unreal

my cottage special was inedible, contained dry tough meat, NO prawns. Mainly just this too rich sauce. Tried to get a refund and have been told no. will not be using these again!!

Absolutely banging the food went last night prices are very reasonable and staff service was excellent 👌

I have tried and tired to find an Indian restaurant that hits the mark on all points! this place did just that! I ordered for a party of 4 people and everyone is still talking about how impressed they are with the quality of the food.

Best Indian takeaway I've had for a long time.

I pick up bang on closing time he is always waiting for me with great service and never complains that I’m there last minute food is lovely will continue to order from here

worst place to order from used to be brilliant order every week for years however for the last 4 weeks the order has been wrong every single week and late think we've had every side but the one we ordered every week sitting in hope of it turning up 🤣 I mean one week ya can understand but 4 weeks in a row... gone down hill

the nan bread wasn't cooked properly and the tikka masala had hardly any chicken in it

Chips, Naan Bread and curry sauce was lovely but it wasn't plain chicken, it had a red coating on it and had been cooked on a skewer.

Ordered via Hartlepool eats tonight and was very disappointed, always used Indian cottage as our gorgeous to, however tonight was awful, most of my food went in the bin, tikka was bland and the usual home made chips had been replaced with tasteless cheap frozen chips...other half enjoyed his Sri Lankan chicken though so every cloud I guess

Sent me chips that tasted off when I ordered onion bhaji, the rice cartoon was half full and the mint yogurt dip I paid for looked like it had curdled so didn’t want to try it. Normally not issues but after this I’m not sure I’ll order again to be honest.

Always order for delivery at least 30 minutes before you want it because it is always late. Also they don’t update on Just Eat so you have no idea what is happening with your order.

Food was absolutely awful, slimy and hardly cooked I didn’t receive garlic mushrooms yet got an extra naan??? Which also was inedible, soggy and sticky as anything, curry was awful and had black hard chunks in I’m guessing it’s off whatever it’s been cooked in, really was not happy

The food was disappointing unfortunately. The food arrived hot and on time, however, the rice was very oily, the chicken was extremely tough and chewy and the Korma sauce quite tasteless.

Again cannot fault the food and value, it’s excellent but delivery was really late again and spoils it. I would rather they be honest on delivery expectations and then at least you know when it’s coming

Food turned up well over an hour after ordering (advertised 45-55 mins), and arrived cold and soggy. Usually nice scran from here but was average at best this evening.

Chips were cold and stale there was no keema in my nan and was very pale and chicken was tuff starter had no salad or sauce

**INDIAN COTTAGE** **ATTENTION** You DID NOT fill the curries to the top!!!!! The Thali silver containers were filled LESS than 3/4 (70%) and with LESS chicken in than normal (ALL INTENTIONAL OF COURSE) (FOR GREED PURPOSES) Some chicken was ROCK HARD and the curries were very watery as though they were watered down!!!!! Naan bread burnt. We paid you the top price for the Cottage Thali, it wasn't a special night, so why did you RIP US OFF!!!!! The last couple of meals you have been delivering us before this one have been out the shop within 10-15 minutes so it's clear as a bell that this tells us that they are NOT being cooked from fresh and are WARMY UP JOBS, we have been very good customers with you for over 20 YEARS, BUT if you take the RISE out of us and SCAM us again then we will just STOP ordering from you, as now you are really WINDING US UP with your GREED!!!!! YOU ARE GOING RIGHT DOWN HILL!!!!! YOU ARE EMBARRASSING!!!!! WE ARE DISGUSTED!!!!! BE VERY ASHAMED!!!!!

Our ‘go to’ Indian takeaway meal = thali. Ample for 2 people - 2 meat curries, a vegetarian curry, starters, rice & naan bread. Delicious! Thanks again

Food arrived 30-40 mins earlier than stated and was out of the shop in 11 mins so it definitely can't have been cooked from scratch but the food tasted quite nice...... maybe we ordered a bit late but I'm on the fence with this one......... ; - )

Very tasty Special Tandoori Indian cottage. Came 45 mins earlier than expected. We wanted fried onions with it, there was none at all though. Next time hopefully. Both Mint sauces were only half full. But all in all a very nice meal. Thanks again. Brian.

Excellent value for money (Sunday special). Korma was rich and full of flavour. Naan’s cooked to perfection. Beautiful rice and chips. On top form tonight. Highly recommend

Regularly order from here, food is really lovely. 10/10 The only thing I've got to moan about is always curry inside the bag all over all the other things in the bag, quite messy.

Not the usual standard of thali tonight?? Rice hard ? and chips hard ? There normally fresh light n fluffy , grandaughter disappointed. Normally left overs save next day . But it's gon in the bin tonight .

It has been the best Indian takeaway I've ever eaten.They actually know what flavor is.Ive used the Indian cottage for over 20yrs.Ive dined in and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience, the food took just over two hours to arrive, and parts of it was cold. We ordered lamb madras and it may as well have been for vegetarians, it’s had small bits of lamb in and the rest was runny curry in the carton which did not taste of madras. Chips were cold and soggy and didn’t taste of much, highly disappointing after waiting so long for it to arrive.

The service and quality of the food are reliable and rarely disappoint; good solid Indian cuisine. The cottage isn't the best Indian takeaway in the area, but it is the gold standard that we judge all others by. The service and quality of the food are reliable and rarely disappoint.

After waiting for 2 and a half hours for the food it came and it was greasy and just awful not to mention the driver tried to rob us of £10 too!
