Mamawu Café in Chichester

Came here as we were staying in our campsite up the road. I had a high 5 smoothie and a breakfast burrito both days as the first one was so very good -super hot and Delicious-def would go back again and recommend and they allow dogs in too. My partner had the small breakfast and a latte -he said was great as he also had it the 2nd day 😁

Been here a few times now. Each time consistant. Fast service, very clean and delicious food. I like the big car park and the tables are spaced out well. Small breakfast and a coffee will set you up for the day. Roll on my next visit.

Good service, interesting menu, would go back. Food was tasty, and good selection of cakes and pastries. Reasonable size car park behind.

Driven past here hundreds of times without stopping, but today was different. Big car park, and we entered to a huge cafe with well-spaced tables, and a tempting array of cakes and pastries at the counter. Menus were straightforward and prices not sky high. Food came quickly. Coffees were delicious. Decor bright and modern. We'll be back!

Not as clean as it used to be, the cushions/seating all need cleaning or a new set, they’ve got very stained, not a good look in a food environment , the windowsills were dusty and have been for a while, the booths the flooring was dirty and so is the lovely wood at the bases, I would think getting a deep clean company in would be a good idea, the refurb must have cost a fortune, don’t let it slip now. On the bright side the food is still good.

23/01/24 Another pleasant visit to this ( deservedly) popular café. Always greeted with a smile. 2 tasty panini's accompanied by 2 well made cappuccino's & we left feeling replete.😊👍. See you soon..😊

This is a large open plan cafe with a big car park. It is on the main road between Southbourne and Nutbourne. The cafe was quite busy but is very spacious. The menu offers all the usual staples, breakfasts, jacket potato, sandwiches, salads, etc. Prices seemed high but portions were very big. The breakfast could have fed 2 people. It was satisfactory but nothing really very interesting to eat.

We've visited on a number of occasions since my last review in March..😊👍.. We both like what's on offer & it's good to see that it is becoming more popular 👍👍.. I still maintain that you're missing an income stream by not advertising yourself, courtesy of an 'A' Board, as a cyclists pitstop..

Miss the old Chinese Restaurant that used to be here, but now loving this venue as a place to meet with family for a late morning breakfast.

Went here for coffee and a cake. Unfortunately there was no cakes, just a few pastries. The staff member serving us seemed more fascinated playing with thwir nose ring than the customers Unfortunately. The food that came out looked nice though

Having initially been in a sulk as we'd lost a good Chinese restaurant we decided to give the new venue a go & haven't yet been disappointed. Their breakfasts are great, good value & the service is also very good. I'm not sure if they are still doing their Burgers but they were awesome when I tried one. The Breakfast Burrito is another that i'd recommend. Not mad on Dogs in eateries but that's hard to avoid these days & so long as they don't misbehave then nothing to moan about.. & this venue does seem very clean.

Our new favourite catch up spot. Plenty of off street parking. Clear instructions when entering to seat self and order at the till. Free Wi-Fi available. Plenty of high chairs available for my little one. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere

Having walked past on numerous occasions with my dog , I felt a visit was in order. Greeted with a smile by the server behind the counter, from where you place & pay for your order. Both breakfasts were tasty, however, as at least 1 other reviewer has mentioned, the toast was over buttered, which suggests to me that individual butter portions might be worth considering 🤔. One observation. Give your location, I feel you're missing out on an income stream, i.e. why not have an A-Board outside advertising yourselves as A cycling pitstop. I know ( living within 400 metres of you), that many cyclists pass you on a regular basis, which includes clubs on their long weekend rides.. just a thought..😊

Stopped at Mamawu Cafe today for breakfast, plenty of parking which was great. Walked in not greated by a single member of staff, nobody even looked up when the door opened. All very nice inside, plenty of seating and background music. Ordered one Big breakfast and one small breakfast, which you go up and order and pay for at the beginning, however should you want to swap/substitute something it has to be in the same food group 🤔, so while you can swap your tomatoes for an egg, hashbrowns don't have a category so it's just taken away. But that was all fine and hungrily waited for our food. Which I have to say was presented lovely, however the eggs were heavily peppered, which should be a choice, the sausages were also heavily spiced also not mentioned and the bacon smoked, which to be fair was mentioned on the menu, and unfortunately the toast was so heavily buttered it was soggy. I know this seems a bit picky but it's on the more expensive side as breakfasts go, nobody asked if everything was OK and nobody said goodbye when we left. No customer service at all, such a shame. Won't be returning.

Stopped for a family lunch as we live locally and wish to support the local business. WHAT A MISTAKE. Sandwiches served on stale, cheap bread. No salad dressing on salad garnish. None available when asked. Hair in my sandwich - took back to counter. No service-order at counter and no check-back form staff to see if everything ok. Tomato ketchup cheap in a Heinz bottle. Bottle so dirty residue ketchup dried over opening so wouldn’t come out. All condiment bottles nearly empty. Fat fries cooked in filthy - could smell it a mile off. Serving staff denied fat was dirty. Kids nuggets - cheapest quality ever. Worse than a greasy spoon. Make McDonald’s look posh. Table dirty. Broken toilet seats in ladies. Basically, they’re tried to sell for Bosham/Chichester prices but are selling the cheapest of the cheap.

Took family for breakfast, and this place really is a hidden gem. Super nice and friendly, the choice of food and drinks is fab, the decor is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend anyone to try it.
