Mama Rosa's in Central Bedfordshire

Always busy so worth booking. Had another lovely meal here. Great service, so much choice. Fillet steak with Dolchette sauce was excellent. Meatball pasta beautiful. Limoncello dessert, lovely and a decent glass of wine. The crispy potatoes and fresh veg are also very tasty. Best restuarant in LB and surrounding area. Minor point...maybe Italian bread with the starters rather than that served would be more authentic.

We haven’t dined there in a very long time, we met up with friends and all agreed to go there . We were seated off the main area which is a better experience as it quieter so at least you can hear each other . The service is excellent, they are incredibly friendly ,attentive and also efficient and make you feel your custom is important and appreciated. Food - All of starters and our mains were expertly prepared , they tasted absolutely amazing and due to the potion sizes there was no room for dessert which I’m sure would have been equally as enjoyable , will leave a little room for next time. I mentioned wasn’t drinking and was offered an alcohol free lager by the waiter which I thought was nice touch as I’ve been to other places where they either don’t serve them or simply ask if you want fruit juice . We recently dined at another so called Italian restaurant while we were away which I submitted a review for and will say they need to visit Mama Rosa’s to learn what it takes before you proclaim you are an Italian restaurant. We had a great evening out catching up with our friends and this restaurant was the perfect complement to this.

Food was fresh & superb, staff welcome & service outstanding, delightful ambience of the restaurant, huge choices on the menu, I have run out of superlatives to describe this gastronomic "star" in our town, where the owner is also the chef. As for the prices mentioned by other reviewers, I can only say that this level of quality comes at a price which, as far as I am concerned, is worth every penny! Came here at lunch for something small and was impressed enough to book a table for the evening. And we were not disappointed. Both if us had a great meal. Staff were excellent both times. Would happily recommend this restaurant for all ages. As my other half said we would happily come back when we are in the area

Not been for a while, food is still great we love the bruschetta pizza. But... we were staggered ny the prices, 19 pounds for a chicken main, that's a little excessive. For 3 adults (one driving) we parted with 108 pounds, for Garlic bread + pizza starter, 3 chicken mains, one 26 pound bottle of red and 2 large cokes. And the most ridiculous were the cokes 4.50 - unreal

we do love Mama Rosa, the food is always good and so is the service but the latest price increase is very steep. Us as a family will now have to cut down on our visits, simply to expensive. £ 18 for a Pizza is not what we can pay. We are aware of how expensive everything is but we can only safe on things like a meal out.

You won’t go hungry here! Portions are huge, but if you can’t eat it all, the staff will arrange a doggy bag so you can take it home. Lovely food, pleasant staff and a good ambience.

We actually had a takeaway from Mama Rosa. The menu was slightly cutdown but not the quality or flavour. Really good. They have limited slots for this service so be quick.

A family birthday, only 6 people due to Covid 19, but made very welcom, food was excellent as usual, now offering take away service as now the retaurant has had to close for 4 weeks.

In lockdown we have had many takeaways most weekends from other facilities. But by far this place has been the best. From ordering, collection and actual taste all was superb. Food was piping hot and as delicious as when we would attend the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Mamma mia I am speechless I asked the top Italian chef Franco this focaccia pizza that my grandfather used make to me when I was a kid and to that you need to make a special dough and I am telling you Franco (head chef) did more then a justice o my god he brought up all my childhood from the first bite everything was more then perfect, Franco I can not thanks you enough, and just for let you guys know everything you eat at Mama Rosa restaurant is freshly cooked like mama used cook in Italy back in day magnificent.

We have just had the most amazing delicious lockdown take away. The streak pasta was the best we have ever had . Plus the portions were so large that we got dinner for tomorrow too. Fabulous value and lovely staff too. Well done them .

When lockdown started and hospitality was hit so hard, I worried for this my favourite restaurant, as the layout of the restaurant, which is long and narrow, can’t comply to the social distancing rules required. Full to capacity most days of the week, how they were going to survive? But I shouldn’t have worried. The tables have all been removed and it has been transformed to an Italian takeaway! We tried it for the first time last night. We ordered by phone and we were so impressed. The food was of the same standard as always, and we were supplied with serviettes, bread and butter and even a portion of Parmesan! Well done mama rosa’s, I wish you all the luck in the world.

Whilst initially disappointed that our Mothering Day booking booking had to be cancelled but was happy to be offered a take away alternative. I did not anticipate the wonderful, wonderful service that was provided. Should have realised the superb people behind this restaurant would have provided a great service but they beat even this. Even in supplying pots of parmesan to go with the pasta and such large portions we will be able to carry on with them later in the week!

My daughter loves the broccoli pasta dish which is why we return time & time again. Visited for lunch on a busy Thursday. Huge portions of tasty, hot fresh pasta - too much for me but my teens devoured the lot. Service with a smile & very cosy on a rainy day.

I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and both my husband and I have never been disappointed. The food is fab and huge portions for a hungry guy! I brought some of my oldest and dearest friends here for a pre Christmas meal. As always excellent food, beautifully presented and so tasty, fantastic service from friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. Great wine list to, we'll definitely be back again.

At first we couldn’t find the place as it was nestled under scaffolding, however the welcome was warm and friendly, service good and the food value for money.

We went to the restaurant on Saturday night, as a party of six. We did have to sit in the separate room from the main restaurant because the number of people we had booked for hadn’t been recorded. It was quite noisy as there was a very large party in the same room.

Delicious food, great service on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Food was amazing from lasagna to meatballs through to a chicken in white wine sauce daily special! It was the little touches aswell. Thank you and see you again soon!

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. They have a lunch menu but decided to go with the main evening menu. We only had main courses of an Americana pizza and spaghetti Bolognese, both of which were nicely cooked and tasty. Service was friendly and ensured everything was alright with the meal, but they did forget a drink we ordered.

First time in 20+years I have had a disappointing experience at Mama Rosa. Food way too salty, sent some back but replacement no better. Staff lovely as usual and apologetic, but so disappointed as we were looking forward to a great meal as usual. Hopefully a one off and we'll be back to try again.

Easily tempted back to Mama Rosa's restaurant for a 75th birthday party. We were 6. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our reserved table. the drinks arrived in a timely fashion and our order was taken The ambience in the restaurant was warm and very friendly as usual. The staff never fail to impress and were as efficient knowlegible and as helpful as ever. We were a bit late ordering our meals which meant an extended lunchtime for the staff but there were no complaints and everything went off as expected.

My 75th, so where else could we all go but Mama’s, a real friendly , welcoming ambiance, the food as always excellent in quality and quantity, (chef doesn’t do small), the restaurant was as always, busy, families, friends, couples etc! The team friendly, helpful, attentive and spot on service, always a welcome as soon as you walk through the door.To add we have been dining at this venue for many years, with family, friends and on our own, and have never been disappointed, what else can we say!!

Great Italian restaurant, run by real Italians! Excellent choice of traditional dishes on menu and food beautifully cooked and presented. Good selection of wines and staff are always friendly and efficient. There's a great atmosphere and buzz about the place. Parking close by is a bit tricky, but the multi-storey is only a 5 minute walk away. Have visited many times and have never been disappointed.

We visited for set lunch on Sunday 17th March with Italian singer, Sergio. Amazing. As always, food was excellent and huge portions. Staff were exceptional. Sergio on good form had the diners joining in. A wonderful four hours. Let's hope Frank repeats it soon.

We visited on a Saturday evening for dinner, the staff were lovely on arrival and throughout the evening. We had starters of bruschetta and Pate, both were lovely but oh my word the portions were huge, we followed it with a couple of pasta dishes again huge portions but tasted lovely and fresh. Will definitely be going back but maybe do a starter to share so that we could fit the gorgeous looking deserts in next time. Only advise other than the portion sizes is book in advance, they are always busy and I can see why.

This was our first visit and was taken there by friends who have been before and we were not disappointed. A good selection on the menu and the food was very tasty and very good value for money. We hope to be taken there again. My recommendation is the pizza.

Six of us visited on Thursday evening to celebrate a Friends' birthday. However, we have visited with the same friends twice previously, for an evening meal.

Always experience great service, made to feel important. Great food, great atmosphere. Please bring more of that fabulous filled pasta!

Went to mama rosa`s for a quiet meal, got what we asked for (with modifications,and allergy check done), staff were friendly, helpful with choices,as this was our first visit to the restaurant,we were not sure about the portion size, highly delighted at what we received, not skimpy at all, take a good appetite with you, we had starters and mains and sadly couldn`t finish the main courses, but what we had was fantastic,piping hot, thoroughly cooked and prepared as per allergy and dressing requests,they happily swapped out/removed ingredients that were not liked to help us enjoy our meals more, we will definitely be going back and looking forward to more of the same

This place doesn’t appear as it seems from the outside, it’s far bigger and has a real Italian atmosphere. The portions are huge, I had to take mine home, which was fabulous as I enjoyed it for lunch the next day. Reasonable priced.

This was my first time although my wife has been there for lunch .family came to visit so decided to give this a try on a Saturday night .The welcome and initial service for drinks was prompt and friendly .The food was excellent even the grand son who is very fussy gave his pizza top marks .House wine (red) was very good ..The service through out was superb and despite the restaurant being full nothing was to much trouble .The portion size would ensure no one would leave hungry .
