Great dog friendly pub, excellent breakfast meals and good atmosphere. All dog owners were responsible and kept their pets under control. Would definitely return again.

Great Breakfast, really nice atmosphere. I think we turned up on the day they had a dogs walk planned as the pub is based around and caters for dogs 🐕 If you don't like dogs then don't go to this pub. We are more of a cat family but like dogs (with responsible owners), so we can't fault it.

The Maltings is a great place for an inexpensive meal that's well cooked and enjoyable and I've been there a few times to eat now. There's a decent menu with some non meat options too, though these were pretty standard pub offerings. It's clean, accessible for anyone with mobility issues ( though I didn't check out the accessible toilet, so can't comment on size for wheelchair users) and the staff are friend too. It's also dog friendly which I like but I know not everyone does. Worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for somewhere to eat

5/5 30TH APRIL 2025 Wandering Wednesday’ this week took both Hubby Neil and I to a new place….. ‘The Maltings’ which is just a couple of miles down the road….. I think we have been put off going, only because when it was ‘The Bewsey Farm’ many, many years ago, you’d walk in and your feet would stick to the floor!….. it’s definitely not the case now….. Set back from The Sankey Valley Canal, in amongst woodlands, this pub is a little cracker! It is renowned for being a ‘Dog friendly pub’…. They have outside and inside seating where dogs are not restricted in either. The pub looks spotlessly clean and with plenty of customers and some furry friends…… they even have a dog menu!…. Brilliant! We even learned that The Maltings and one of our favourite eateries ‘The White Hart’ are Sister pubs, so this will explain why the food was absolutely delicious, each dish was beautifully presented….. We went for starters today: Neil had Italian meatballs in Napoli sauce, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and served with garlic bread. I had: deep fried crispy battered squid, with zesty lemon mayo, served on a bed of baby gem lettuce and pea shoot garnish. For Entree’s Neil had Salt and pepper noodles, tossed in a Teriyaki sauce with peers and onions….. Topped with pan fried Salmon (or you can have the choice of chicken if you wish). I had the ‘Cluckin Hot’ which was two crispy buttermilk chicken fillets, paired with melted sliced cheese, drizzled with hot sauce mayo and garnished with spicy jalapeno’s…. I upgraded my fries to sweet potato fries tossed together with mixed peppers and onions, with a pot of coleslaw…… there was a lady and gentleman serving behind the bar as well as the food orders, very friendly, polite, attentive and courteous….. The food was amazing and we will 100% be going back…..I could kick myself for not trying this pub before now!!

We visited The Maltings for my sons birthday last week. We chose this pub because we wanted to be comfortable bringing along our 2 little dogs as they love it here. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff were all lovely and polite. Everyone on our table really enjoyed their food, even the chihuahuas 😊 The only reason I haven't given 5 stars for food is because it would be nice to see a couple more vegan options. The vegan chilli was delicious though 🌶️😋 We will definitely be returning.

I’ve never had any issues with this pub great food and service usually. I thought I’ll come up with my partner and the dog have a mocktail sit outside chill. It’s heaving bc of national but there was only 1 person at the bar. Got to my turn I asked what mocktails they had the rude man was like go look on a table for a drinks menu, all the tables where full so quite intimidating no drinks menus on any but finally find one and no mocktails on it. So go back to the till where there’s now a Que. Finally get served and say there isn’t any on the menu and they go yeah we only do a passion fruit one. Why not just say that in the first place. I understand the strain on staff and can imagine today was especially busy but it just wasnt a nice experience which is a shame cause it is normally a great pub.

I only recently came across this pub just before Christmas 2025, I have since been a few more times and I have never been disappointed (especially with the breakfasts). The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming especially as its a pub for your furry friends. Presented at the front door are dog beds, blankets, snack jars, water bowls etc.... there are snack jars on the bar top. Dogs are everywhere, its such a lovely place. Set back off the main road surrounded by woodland adds to the atmosphere, and its a handy stop after a dog walk. Food is good and presented like any other Green King Pub without disappointment. I must admit I prefer the breakfasts. If you have a furry family I would definitely recommend a visit

This place was highly recommended but I don't know why... Staff couldn't really be bothered if you was ok or even to get the order correct We sat for around 45mins for our starters and our mains come 1st as they was all being presented at the same time... this wasnt asked for, we just wanted our 2 year olds meal to come with the starters, this was our ONLY request. Can I add that the pub wasn't overly busy at the time and we sat with empty glasses on table most of the night..and once food was finished we sat looking at plates for around an hour too before they was cleared away.. Only one man looked like the manager was running around as nobody else looked interested in customers apart only each other.. I ll stick to the white Hartin future as its same company but better staff, as they take orders at the table and are very good at making sure your dinning experience is a good one.

The jacket potato was overcooked, I asked for no salad cream or tomatoes, I got them anyway, I asked for no cheese, and got it flung over my beans; not to mention that there wasn't enough for a potato of that size anyway. The soup was also bad; it was that over peppered that I didn't know what soup it was supposed to be, overall the meal was disappointing. Not recommended for vegans either, because there's barely anything on the menu if you are, and the food is not good.

Second time visiting and unfortunately there won’t be a third. Best thing about the place is the fact it’s so dog friendly. I ordered a chicken and bacon salad and a side of halloumi fries, the bacon was missing off the salad. My friends ordered fish and chips, their meals came with 5-6 chunky chips topped with their over battered fish which when you bit into was pretty much hollow, it had been battered so much there was near enough no fish. Ordered steak dinners for the dogs off the dog menu, was told to be careful cos the food was hot but it was literally stone cold. £6.95? Couple of bits of steak, cold mash and peas. Second coffee came with no milk, missing puppuccino which we had to chase, was all just a bit of a disaster and it’s not like the food is priced cheaply. £15 each for a main to be served what we did wasn’t good! Everything that came out we had issues with and had to chase or remind the waitress there was more stuff to come. Such a shame as we had a nice breakfast the week before, but won’t be coming back. We hadn’t seen are friends in a while either so thought it would be a lovely lunch to catch up but just left feeling bad we’d brought them here, paid a fair bit for food and drinks and it was crap. Rang them on the way home to apologise, again!

We went to the Maltings this afternoon Sunday 2nd Feb. 4 adults and 2 children plus dog. It's a very dog friendly place with free dog treats and a dog menu. We had booked a table for 3:30 but in the event we arrived at 3:15 but were seated immediately. We did use a GROUPON deal for 4 steaks with a glass of wine each. I wanted fish and chips, but they would not allow the substitution, that's OK and I ordered fish and chips anyway. We also ordered a childs roast dinner and several sides and starters. We waited half an hour for the starters and kids meal. The food was great with huge portions, the kids loved it. But we had to wait for our mains. We had a round of drinks, good quality beers and wines, we were served a white wine instead of the ordered Rose' but this they swapped with alacrity when it was pointed out. Eventually a member of staff came over at 16:40 to 'remind' us that the table was required at 17:30. We pointed out that we hadn't had our mains yet and 15 minutes later they arrived. The steaks were cooked as requested and were very good, juicy and tender, the chunky chips were not chips but fondant potato's, but not the worse for that, very tender and tasty. The Fish and Chips were a disappointment the fish fillet was sliced very thinly, the batter very hard and dark. Obviously not freshly cooked and probably fried at least twice, and the chips again not chips but more fondants. We were then subjected to an orchestrated 'bums rush' of collected plates and glasses and cleaning of the table. Our 'replacements' ushered into our former seats even before we left the room. I felt we were not given the establishments full and fair attention due to the fact we used GROUPON. Even though with the extra kids meals, sides and drinks, we spent over £160 more than 3 times the coupons value. I also noted on leaving, seeing other guests fish to be far thicker and freshly cooked, served with chips and not fondant potatoes. I could be wrong on my assumption regarding the use of a coupon and we may have been just unlucky on the day. I hope if you visit, you fare better.

Pub was busy but a lady working there cleaned of a table for us to use. I was only after some small so went for loaded fries while my husband chosen one of the bugars. Food did take a while to come but understandable as very busy. The loaded fries where surprisingly good size and husband bugar was good quality and great tasting. I had chosen before seeing size of my loaded fries a desert. Had the biscoff warm cookie!!!! This did not disappoint. Still touch full from my mains I shared with the husband and we both would have this again. Service from start to finish is excellent, being asked at times is everything ok for you? Do you need anything else. Highly recommend here to everyone, from dog lovers, families, or couples or even just a quick drink on way home from hard day work as always leave with a smile.

Welcoming and ample parking, looks abit tired inside in places but acceptable. Staff were helpful and friendly. The thing that let it down were the chips! These were not like chips but a potato that has it's edges squared off! While cooked and edible each one was like eating something between a chunky chip, baked and roast potato in one. Even the two kids meals we ordered came with these monster 'chips' which our kids couldn't even fit in their mouths. Pic is of my son's meal with a tea spoon for scale of the chips included. There needs to be a warning on the menu about these chips and their typical dimensions quoted along with that of a standard chip served everywhere else.

I’d only go there again to pick up a refund. The driest chilli con carne I’ve ever tasted. I asked for sour cream (which the menu said it came with) but they didn’t have any. I think they’d ran out of chilli too. No taste to it whatsoever. I ordered the apple crumble with custard but the apple crumble came in a sort of small pan with a tiny jug of custard but the there was no room left in the tiny pan thing to pour the custard onto it. I asked for a bowl (thinking he’d take the crumble away and put it into a larger bowl for me) but instead he brought the smallest bowl I’ve ever seen that I’m guessing he got from a dolls house. I then had to spoon a bit of apple crumble (the crumble was rock hard in parts) into this tiny bowl, pour over a bit of custard and eat it in 3 stages. I was clearly still eating eat when the waitress asked if I’d finished. I’d only go there again to pick up a refund.

The manager (sorry I didn't catch the name) was welcoming from start to finish and made sure that we had everything that we needed. It was very well organised and they had thought of so much for the children, a christmas tree activity, sweet bags on the table full to the brim with christmas treats and a little present off Santa. I've been to a few Breakfast with Santa mornings at Dobbies in the past and they have not been as good as The Maltings. This is without a doubt, the most dog friendly pub, we've ever been to. What a find! It is now going to be our first choice when we are up here visiting family. We have had breakfast, dinner and a roast here now. Breakfast was great, a very decent eggs Benedict and great coffee (I am fussy about coffee). Dinner was good too, a decent choice and the cocktails are delicious! Especially the pornstar martini and wham sling (even comes with a wham bar). The roast dinner was excellent. We had lamb, it came with a variety of veg, huge Yorkie and lashings of decent gravy. Alas, it was so big and plentiful that not one of us managed to finish it. The service on every single occasion has been excellent. The food on each of our occasions arrived piping hot, in reasonable time. All the staff are extremely pleasant, welcoming and friendly. Regardless of whether it was quiet (breakfast) or absolutely full (Sunday). They are remarkably attentive for a place so busy. Exceptional! This is a nice, country feel pub, with a friendly atmosphere, but what sets it apart is not just the staff, but the way they treat your dog...it is outstanding! There are doggy mats, bowls, fresh water (to decant as you wish), doggy treats and even sticks as you enter past the doggy wall of fame. There are even treats at the bar. Your dog is not just "allowed", they are welcomed and treated as customers. They have their own menu too, this is fantastic. There is no shortage of fuss for your dog, but if you need a quieter space for them, there are plenty of tables tucked away in different corners of the maltings to accommodate. The regulars are super friendly and welcoming too. We look forward to returning again soon. If you have dogs or simply just love them, this is definitely the place for you. However , if you don't like dogs... you may not truly appreciate how great it really is here.

Great place to go for some food or just a drink and a walk. Reasonably priced menu with meals and sandwiches. Lovely atmosphere of a mixture of young families and walkers. Good facilities with baby changing make it welcoming for young families and retro games pacman and space invaders for a nostalgic trip to your youth. Will go again.

I had a family breakfast on Sunday my eggs were rock hard, there was a dog hair on my toast, the black pudding was under cooked, and the portion size is far less than it used to be, certainly not a belly buster by any stretch of the imagination. The service was however excellent so I have given the girl serving 5 stars and the food 2 stars.

We usually love going here, it's our favourite local for a bite to eat with our dog but this time I ordered the prawn starter and it was the least value for money starter dish I've ever had anywhere ever. Just four prawns on a skewer (nothing special at all) for £8. We were really shocked about it. I'm struggling to find an alternative to the usual salad I like to order, as they don't include any salad on the winter menu. That's a real shame, as it's the only thing I order when I go there. They must try harder. I will find somewhere else that serves salads until they change their menu back in the springtime.

Great stop for lunch, and even better that they're dog friendly. The dog gets a treat while you treat yourself.

We visited here a few weeks ago and brought the dog with us, we sat outside as it was a nice warm evening, the food was lovely and the service team were great too. They had bowls and treats for your furry friends to keep them happy too at no extra charge. Also they have a menu for your dogs to choose from with multiple items on there. We have been in previous years but forget to make reviews.. We will be back soon

Visited for a Sunday roast. Food was average with overcooked meat and veg. Great pub if you are a dog owner, dogs everywhere. Our experience was ruined by a dog barking constantly at the table next to us. Dogs were sat on the furniture and we even saw one peeing up the walls. The pub should have a dog free area for people who don't want to sit and eat lunch with a dog barking in their ear

The service at Chapleford farms is always top notch and food incredible. Today is no exception. Abbey helped us today; she was friendly and very efficient. I haven't been in a few months but this is a reminder to visit more often.

We had a very attentive staff member Poppy. We were actually at the Sale location, but the card with the QR code on that they gave us was for warrington. Who knows, hopefully this will get back to the right place.

WE HAVE RETURNED MANY TIMES BUT IT WILL ONY ALLOW YOU 1 REVIEW….. so going to date our return reviews, plus photos and keep adding to this original review ❤️ 28th May 2025 Review on Tripadvisor… photos added on here too. 5th Feb 2025 another fabulous lunch…thanks Nicola and the chefs….xxx❤️ 9th October 2024. I have exceeded my character’s and won’t let me post anything more. Wandering Wednesday today was simply AMAZING….xxx❤️ 6th May 2024 ‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Hubster Neil and I back to The White Hart, they change their menu’s quite often and it would be very rude not to try out their new cuisine creations! They never fail to please….. We didn’t have starters as the dishes are huge and would of been far too much food!….. Entrées: Neil had bone in Pork Tomahawk marinated and grilled with chorizo and garlic sauce…. Served with loaded fries, skin on fries with magic dust, gooey cheese, bacon bites, house sauce with takeaway toppings. I had a burger….. double stack beef and cheese, ketchup and Manc sauce with a glazed short rib, topped with massive onion ring and ranch slaw….. Upgraded my fries to skin on fries, dusted with chip salt with southern fried chicken, cheese sauce, loads of chorizo, marinara sauce, Parmesan and garlic butter….. Neil had a pot of tea and I had a coke. We’ve been back to this pub a good few times now and each new menu has drawn us in each time, the food is sooooo beautiful, piping hot…..and plenty of it, proper belly busters…. We will continue to return as the food is simply perfect… 15th May 2024: ‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Hubster Neil and I back a place we’ve been many times previously, they change their menus frequently, hence our returns to…… ‘The White Hart’….. this place never ceases to fail us…. Every time we’ve been the food has been absolutely ‘Spot On’ as my Father in law Arthur, would of said….bless him xx❤️ For starters we both had the same: Flour tortillas, battered cod goujons, tartare sauce, pea purée, shredded lettuce, potato strings and veg, drizzled with a curry sauce dressing….. They were huge and soooo tasty. Entrées: Neil had kangaroo and jalapeño burger with all the trimmings, salad, beef tomato, crisps bacon, spicy sausage and bacon ranch dressing, then topped off with a massive shrimp cooked on the barbie, with added fries on the side….. I had a smashed burger and when it arrived it was ‘double pattie’ with thick fried chicken tenders dipped in honey butter and wing sauce, crispy bacon rashers with gherkins and ranch dressing…… I upgraded my fries to loaded fries, which came with red salt, melted cheese poured over strips of tender steak slices, accompanied with fried onions, peppers, ballpark mustard gherkins, spiced mayo and all sprinkled with Cajun dust….. My eyes popped out of my head when it came, it looked amazing and all the flavours were something else….. Staff are attentive and very polite as always…… Will we return?….. Over and over! Without no doubt at all….xxx❤️ 24th July 2024. ‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Rhi, Max, Neil and I to the best burger restaurant in our eyes….. Back to the White Hart. Best burgers ever!! We were celebrating Rhi’s final exam of 7 years Solicitor training and it’s also her birthday tomorrow too….. Happy birthday Our Gorgeous girl xxx Rhi had Seoul destroyer, Max had a WFC burger, Neil and I both had Honey Monster. These burgers are so filling and bursting with flavours. I took screenshots of the burgers contents as it would take ages to write down!! Finishing off back at Max and Rhi house, with a Marks and Spencer’s ‘Connie the caterpillar’ birthday cake. xxx❤️
