A fantastic place with a great choice for humans and dogs. Came here with my family and found a warm welcome - the burgers were tasty and the doggie full dinner was enjoyed by our dog. A great dog menu, a stick library and friendly and welcoming staff.

Lovely pub, perfect for an afternoon out. Very dog friendly, and our toddler loved watching them all! Some accessibility issues with access to some tables but if you made it clear in a reservation I'm sure it could be catered for.

A simple and traditional country pub with lovely old furniture and stone floors. Dogs very welcome (we didn't have one but there were lots in there) - they even have their own menu. If you don't like dogs it's probably not the place for you but we loved it. The (human) food and the service were exceptional.

We recently visited The Maltings on Saturday the 7th December for Breakfast with Santa. My little one absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was great. The manager (sorry I didn't catch the name) was welcoming from start to finish and made sure that we had everything that we needed. It was very well organised and they had thought of so much for the children, a christmas tree activity, sweet bags on the table full to the brim with christmas treats and a little present off Santa. I've been to a few Breakfast with Santa mornings at Dobbies in the past and they have not been as good as The Maltings. I hope they do this for many years to come as we will definitely be booking on next year if so!! Thank you for a lovely morning and some lovely memories!

Visited today for breakfast with Santa. The table was already laid out for us and decorated for Christmas with a few surprises for the child. Our 6 year old was excited to be visiting Santa. Becky really took care of us to make sure he had a lovely experience visiting Santa. We all enjoyed are breakfast. Thank you to the whole team.

Absolutely horrible place the owner doesn’t respect anyone he thinks he is above people like us me a Pakistani national he referred to be as a ‘horrible person’ and said that me and my friends were ‘cut off’ after our 3rd drink I can’t believe it, disgusting ! Don’t visit!

Love The Maltings. This afternoon we had a lovely walk down Sankey Valley, finishing at The Maltings where we had a delicious coffee and cake before strolling home. The staff are so friendly, the food so good and the environment so pleasant. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Great dog friendly pub our first time here with the dog. The food was really good & the dog thought so too she enjoyed her chicken bowl & puupicino, we will be back. The only downside for me was I couldn't use my green king discount even though it's a green king pub??

This is without a doubt, the most dog friendly pub, we've ever been to. What a find! It is now going to be our first choice when we are up here visiting family. We have had breakfast, dinner and a roast here now. Breakfast was great, a very decent eggs Benedict and great coffee (I am fussy about coffee). Dinner was good too, a decent choice and the cocktails are delicious! Especially the pornstar martini and wham sling (even comes with a wham bar). The roast dinner was excellent. We had lamb, it came with a variety of veg, huge Yorkie and lashings of decent gravy. Alas, it was so big and plentiful that not one of us managed to finish it. The service on every single occasion has been excellent. The food on each of our occasions arrived piping hot, in reasonable time. All the staff are extremely pleasant, welcoming and friendly. Regardless of whether it was quiet (breakfast) or absolutely full (Sunday). They are remarkably attentive for a place so busy. Exceptional! This is a nice, country feel pub, with a friendly atmosphere, but what sets it apart is not just the staff, but the way they treat your dog...it is outstanding! There are doggy mats, bowls, fresh water (to decant as you wish), doggy treats and even sticks as you enter past the doggy wall of fame. There are even treats at the bar. Your dog is not just "allowed", they are welcomed and treated as customers. They have their own menu too, this is fantastic. There is no shortage of fuss for your dog, but if you need a quieter space for them, there are plenty of tables tucked away in different corners of the maltings to accommodate. The regulars are super friendly and welcoming too. We look forward to returning again soon. If you have dogs or simply just love them, this is definitely the place for you. However , if you don't like dogs... you may not truly appreciate how great it really is here.

Great place to go for some food or just a drink and a walk. Reasonably priced menu with meals and sandwiches. Lovely atmosphere of a mixture of young families and walkers. Good facilities with baby changing make it welcoming for young families and retro games pacman and space invaders for a nostalgic trip to your youth. Will go again.

I had a family breakfast on Sunday my eggs were rock hard, there was a dog hair on my toast, the black pudding was under cooked, and the portion size is far less than it used to be, certainly not a belly buster by any stretch of the imagination. The service was however excellent so I have given the girl serving 5 stars and the food 2 stars.

We usually love going here, it's our favourite local for a bite to eat with our dog but this time I ordered the prawn starter and it was the least value for money starter dish I've ever had anywhere ever. Just four prawns on a skewer (nothing special at all) for £8. We were really shocked about it. I'm struggling to find an alternative to the usual salad I like to order, as they don't include any salad on the winter menu. That's a real shame, as it's the only thing I order when I go there. They must try harder. I will find somewhere else that serves salads until they change their menu back in the springtime.

Great stop for lunch, and even better that they're dog friendly. The dog gets a treat while you treat yourself.

food very average , waited 45min for 2x blt and chips and 2x small fish and chips, which where like a childs portion . and doggy meal, quality very poor , pub not that busy tbh... would i go again think not ,

We visited here a few weeks ago and brought the dog with us, we sat outside as it was a nice warm evening, the food was lovely and the service team were great too. They had bowls and treats for your furry friends to keep them happy too at no extra charge. Also they have a menu for your dogs to choose from with multiple items on there. We have been in previous years but forget to make reviews.. We will be back soon

Visited for a Sunday roast. Food was average with overcooked meat and veg. Great pub if you are a dog owner, dogs everywhere. Our experience was ruined by a dog barking constantly at the table next to us. Dogs were sat on the furniture and we even saw one peeing up the walls. The pub should have a dog free area for people who don't want to sit and eat lunch with a dog barking in their ear

Great for dogs but not really for people. Food is very average and strongly priced for what they provide. Do you really want a dog pestering you while you are eating.

What a hidden little gem the Maltings is. Drinks, coffees, food, pleasant surroundings, indoor and outdoor seating, looked after by lovely friendly hosts and staff.

Went in for a quick light tea and a few beers. Top service from the staff Friday 9th. And the food is always tasty and reasonably priced.

Had small plate fish & chips which was plenty for me & delicious. Had to wait for food but was notified how long the wait was as very busy. Sat outside as warm, sunny day, atmosphere great as plenty people outside with their dogs. They also welcome dogs inside & even have a dog menu.

Booked a table on short notice at 5pm they had availability at 7pm was nice to be informed on the phone what dishes weren't available. Got to the restaurant on time orderd starters and mains which were nice, went to the bar at 8.10 to order desserts but unfortunately was informed the kitchen was closed - would have been nice to be informed this at time of booking or when ordering the food at the bar as we would have preferred mains and desserts rather than starters and mains, was our second visit unlikely to drive out that way to go back.

We took our puppy out tonight, to celebrate her 3rd birthday. We have been here before and knew that they welcome dogs. Also, their new 'Doggy Menu' sounded amazing. The perfect treat for her special day! It was a boiling hot evening, so it was busy inside and out and we hadn't pre-booked, however the staff welcomed us and managed to fit us in. Unfortunately, there was a slight mix up with our order, which caused a delay. Quite literally, as soon as we enquired about the delay, we were instantly given a full refund and were moved to a new table, so that we wouldn't have to be disturbed for the rest of the evening. Outstanding service and the food was amazing too! For dog owners...our puppy is quite nervous but she found the atmosphere so calm that she quickly lay down on a bench seat next to us. For her, we ordered the doggy sausages, (which she loved) and a doggy ice-cream, to cool her off. We will definitely be returning soon!

Lovely pub squirreled away in Warrington, cracking place to bring the hound as its close to the canals and nice walks, then you can come back for food n drink. Recommend the afternoon tea for your dog, our Brian loves it.

Excellent value for money. Decent choice for vegetarians. Dog friendly. Dogs catered for. Outside there is ample seating on 3 sides, some under cover for all weathers.

Went to The Maltings for a Father’s Day meal and we all had a lovely time. Great food with plenty of options for everyone. The pub is fully dog friendly and even has its own doggy menu. We will definitely be visiting again!

I've been to a lot of dog friendly pubs and restaurants but this one is by far the best. The staff are so helpful and the food has been brilliant each time. My dog loves it here. Every visit has been above and beyond what we expected. All the staff are friendly but I must give a huge shout out to Anna who has been brilliant each visit. Well done! Visited today as it was on my partners list of places to visit while we were up here from down south seeing family, she’s a dog business owner and it’s been on her list for a while! It’s a lovely building in a nice setting. Nice warm atmosphere and great service. I had the pie which was piping hot and filling and my partner had the jacket potato which she enjoyed. Now; for the main event - the doggy afternoon tea for our lab Wallace. It’s safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed every single morsel and polished off the lot! Our whole experience was great and the doggy menu was fab and as dog lovers it would be a perfect place for us to visit frequently, sadly we live 250 miles away but we will be back!

Staff are rude and don’t help one bit meat was uncooked don’t recommend also they was a cat on the roof of the building eating a mouse

Great food and amazing deals on cocktails

The food here is rotten, last time i came ordered steak and chips asked for it well done when i cut into it a pool of blood was now on my chips. Sent it back they just tuck the steak back so was left with bloody soggy cold chips when the steak was re done. Thought i would give a second try if i went for someone different got fish and chips was tasteless just tasted of cooking fat and full off oil touched it with my hands and all oil on my fingers i ate the fish out of the batter due to it being £15 now im at home and ready to he sick… avoid !!

2 thirds of the pub was empty but all the tables had reserved signs on them which doesn't really make you want to return in the future. Luckily it was warm so salt outside. Ordered two meals and was told ot would be 45 minutes wait which seemed strange when half the place was empty but the food did in fact take around this length of time to arrive. When it arrived the chicken buttermilk burger was burnt to a crisp. Far too overcooked however by this point I was starving so I ate mine. My partner ordered a pie and her food arrived cold. This was sent back and remade which took another 30 minutes to arrive. This time it was hot and well cooked however the whole experience was extremely poor.

Another perfect experience at the maltings! Greeted by Nat with a big smile who just can’t do enough to help you and ensure you have a great time. The food and selection of ales is always 5/5. Beth and Jen super friendly at the bar. The thing that makes this venue stand out more than any other is the customer service. My mum also came for Mother’s Day and Nat in particular again made it very special for her, can’t thank the staff enough.

Wow, wow, wow.... This place is literally a 'hedden gem'!! Such a nice place in a hidden location. If you are a dog walker, you have to come here!! Dogs can come inside too and enjoy a meal together as a family my heart filled with joy when I saw the dogs dinner menu! Great location, great staff, great place. Can't wait to come here in the summer when it's hot!!

My daughter booked to take me on Mothers Day with her 2 girls, We were shown to our table by Natalie who brought us both a glass of presecco! Natalie then looked after us with the drinks and food order, We had Sunday Lunch which was really good and the dessert was great also.(Chocolate fudge cake x 4!!) Lovely atmosphere in the pub with families and their dogs - the girls loved it and want to return with their dogs! Natalie was friendly, professional and made the experience so much more than just coming to eat lunch.

VERY dog friendly. Doggo scarfed his dinner up in record time! Great place for a family get-together, though we did have to wait a long while for food service. The food was ok. It's not amazing, but ok. There were ok but not exceptional options for our vegan guest as well. Good beers are available. Wines were ok. Overall, it's an ok place; it's not outstanding foodwise, but it's in a glorious semi rural position and very friendly for our pooch too, which is a big tick for us 😀

By far the best pub restaurant in Warrington, great food, variety of ales but what makes it stand out is the staff which make this place truly unique! Nat always greets you with such a beautiful smile and can never do enough to help you, makes you feel so valued and welcome, the pubs greatest asset by a mile! Jen and Beth also do their work with a smile and make the experience fun. All in all a superb place to visit made so superb by the customer service.

Booked for Breakfast on Christmas Eve. By far one of the best cooked Breakfast's I've had in a long time. We all enjoyed our food, the kids ate everything on their plates. Staff were all friendly. I will definitely return.

Went today for a pre booked table at 4pm myself, friend, two grandchildren and the dog. Stood in the doorway waiting for our table 4.10pm got our table only to be told it was a 45 minute wait for food! 4.55pm food arrived and it was absolutely stone cold. Sent it back and manager came over saying sorry we will re do fresh food and if you want we will give you a couple of cakes! 10 mins later he came back to say 5 more mins then 10 mins later he came back to say another two mins…… At 5.27pm we went to the bar to say forget it fed up, starving we were asked to wait for the manager but we walked out. Would absolutely not recommend this pub at any cost. Food, staff and service shocking and disappointing at best.!! The dog ate his dinner but only because we took it with us!!! What a waste of a Sunday afternoon with my grandchildren. Never again

We have often been here in the past, but in the last 6-9 months have found the food not very good. Today jacket potato's were not cooked, when returned unable to cut the skin, we were not the only ones to send them back. I had tuna and sweetcorn, the latter having a handful shown to the tuna. Spoke to the so called chef who's attitude was polite but not very caring, we were offered a drink or cake in lieu. Not good enough. It will be a long time before we eat here again, which is a shame as it is our local and in the past meals have always been good.
