Visited for breakfast whilst staying overnight in Worthing. Very friendly staff and delicious food! Excellent coffee too. I had the Herbivore breakfast which even as a non vegetarian I can highly recommend!

Our family had the best time at Malt Cafe! Firstly, the service is incredible - the team were so friendly and welcoming, and engaged with our dog and daughter alike. The food was brilliant - over two visits we had everything from the chorizo hash to the sweet potato rosti and the big breakfast too. They were really careful around gluten and dairy allergies. Amazing coffee too. We just loved the vibe so much and can't wait to come back. The hospitality was just phenomenal.

Quality Food and Service! Arrived Bank Holiday Monday, it was packed, returned after half hour. Had Chorizo Egg Hash and Cooked Breakfast. Both were excellent. Had to wait a little while but we were totally looked after during our wait. Highly recommended!!

It makes me a little reluctant to write this review because if I do it will make it even busier! Still, here goes… the owner is a consummate charming professional, the food is imaginative and the coffee delicious. I’m not often in Worthing but when I am this is a certain inclusion ! This recommendation is given without reservation.

Third time here and absolutely spot on every visit. Wonderful fresh dishes and pastries. The cold drinks and coffees were all so good too. Wonderful friendly professional staff. A total joy to eat and drink and spend time here. Even when busy the vibe is relaxing and restorative.

Should be your number one place in Worthing to go for Breakfast, maybe not the cheapest but for food and ambience, simply excellent.

We wanted to try somewhere new for lunch and the Malt Cafe came up in the top ten cafes nearby. The staff were so friendly and attentive, I'd highly recommend it based on that alone. We enjoyed our food and would definitely visit again.

Tucked away on a back street off the front, very pleasant atmosphere and staff very attentive. Ordered Scrambled Eggs and Hot Smoked Salmon which was excellent. A little miffed at being charged £2.50 extra for a tablespoon of wilted spinach, but the dish was better for it. Latte was beyond good with a deep malty taste and just the right temperature.

What the owners of this unique Worthing café have created is nothing short of pure magic. Walking into Malt never fails to bring almost immediate peace to my soul. It goes without saying that the coffee and food are exquisite every time, but what really makes this beautiful establishment stand out is its calm and welcoming atmosphere and wonderful staff. Robyn in particular is an absolute superstar and can never do enough for you! I truly mean it when I say that this place is a sanctuary that I am reluctant to tell too many people about, because it feels like a special little secret that needs to be protected.

Lovely new cafe in Worthing - recommended to us by a Brighton friend and well worth a visit. Friendly, relaxed and a gorgeous breakfast. I had the sweet potato rosti with eggs - so good! Coffee was amazing too. There was no facility to tip if paying by card when we visited so take along a little of the old fashioned money in case you want to thank the lovely staff! We’ll be back to do the same soon 😊

Amazing! A quirky brunch menu! With super friendly and welcoming staff. We came as a walk in and they did the upmost to get us a table and turn it around once the previous customers had left. Will definitely be back:

Looked like it was such a lovely place , staff were very happy when greeting us Coffee was one of the best we had tasted but then went down hill . Waited over 50 minutes for food to arrive , no one approached us to say there was a delay . We had to ask where it was. And when it did turn up not everyone received at same time approx 10 mins difference. And it was cold . Food could have been lovely but such a shame on the wait and customer service after the first greeting . One of the party found a massive piece of shell in their fried egg too … so although food was nice it was cold and a very long wait without explanation. So will not be returning . Such a shame .

First time visiting today and it was so good! Great service straight away, food took a little long but was worth the wait when it arrived! Easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, the produce was real quality! On the expensive side but really worth it! Will be back for sure!

A warm and friendly welcome. Coffee arrived swiftly for one and was a good cuppa. Food was freshly cooked so it took a little longer. It was good quality produce and that why it wasn’t cheap but I’m not sure I could justify a return visit at those prices.

Excellent breakfast I had savory waffle with fried eggs, spinach and a walnut pesto sauce. Never seen that on a breakfast menu before and it was delicious. GF had avo smash with chili and tomato also tasty. Service was friendly and the ambiance nice.

I felt compelled to write a review as this was one of the most delicious brunches ever . I ordered Huevos Rancheros which was amazing . My friend ate the sweet potato rosti which he really enjoyed too. Coffee was of good quality and the staff weee very friendly and helpful

Came all the way from Brighton to Malt cafe with my boyfriend to have a “different” breakfast and it was amazing!!The place is not that big but they still managed to make it covid safe.All the staff was so nice and attentive.The coffe was amazing and so was the food.I had the savoury waffles and I will definitely be back for them! they were so tasty and so unlike anything I ever had I am so pleased!We will be back no doubt!

Great Good. Great Service. This is a total gem of a place. The coffee is great, there’s a genuinely warm welcome from the staff, and the food is great. We ordered the smashed avocado and feta on sourdough, with 2 poached eggs (extra); and the halloumi, hummus on sourdough (instead of rye). It came hot, tasty and in really generous portions. My eggs were beautifully cooked with lovely runny yolks. The avocado was fresh and creamy with enough chunks for good texture. The coffee is great - we had 2 each. A small jug of water is served without having to ask. Small caring touches that make all the difference. We’ll definitely be revisiting next time we take a break in Worthing. For me, this bistro has the best food, service and value for money of all the bistros (4) that we ate at. Oh, and the cakes!!!

Malt is lovely! But I think anywhere charging over £4 for a thin slice of cake is so so sooo overpriced. I was gobsmacked when the bill came!

After a morning of barista training, myself and a friend were recommended the malt café so we thought we’d check it out! We were not disappointed! The food was outstanding! Delicious taste combinations and plenty to choose from. Excellent friendly staff, delicious cakes and selection of soft drinks. Would absolutely recommend! I called in today with my dog, its a lovely dog friendly cafe. And the coffee really is the best in Worthing! A friendly, welcoming atmosphere always.

We have known this place was near where we live however only went today for the first time this morning and we will definitely be going back. I had the smashed avocado with feta and roasted tomatoes ( I added a poached egg) and my husband had the chorizo hash it was so delicious would really recommend.

What a fantastic place to come, the girl who served me my husband and my 2 girls food and drinks yesterday was fantastic. It was our first time there and she was great with the kids. She was very busy but didn't come across flustered at all. The food was incredible compliments to the chef from Sunday. Well definitely come back.

Called in here today on way back home from town and took advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. What a lovely place. Great atmosphere, all socially distanced and well organised. Lovely staff and best iced coffee I've had since moving to Worthing last Autumn! Cakes delicious too. Will definitely be back.

Came into Malt cafe in Worthing for the first time (Sunday 2nd August 2020) ever and loved it. The young girl with glasses that served me was very polite, very friendly and great with my children. The coffee she made me was amazing and the food was to dive for. I'll be definitely be returning . Thank you again to everyone there for such a pleasureable experience. See you again soon

Cosy and welcoming. The full English breakfast is amazing. I haven't got around to trying anything else because it's so good. The pancakes look particularly nice... can cause breakfast envy. Great coffee too... friendly, warm service. My only criticism is that it's so popular, I sometimes can't get in. I guess booking a table would overcome this but I like to be spontaneous.

We have recently discovered this lovely place. The food is great and the staff are friendly.However, we were nearing the end of our meal the other day, and a customer came in with a large, long haired dog. (We actually didn’t appreciate it was a dog friendly cafe). It wasn’t just this reason, but when the owner of the dog came in, he was greeted by the friendly lady who was serving, but then the dog jumped up on her, and she continued to stroke and pat the dog right in front of the uncovered cakes on display! I’m sure she would have straight away washed her hands before dealing with the customers, but I’m afraid it has put us right off and for that reason, sadly, we will not be visiting again.

A rare example of Brighton/London quality in Worthing. Simon, the owner, used to run one of the best pubs in the Brighton Lanes, so he knows what good looks, sounds and tastes like! The coffee was expertly prepared and the food was excellent. The decor is stylish but welcoming; he’s even got the background music spot on. This is a place of affordable sanctuary for Worthingites, so please support them and make it a lasting success.

Popped in to try out their carrot cake that I had been eyeing up for a while. It tasted as delicious as it looked and their coffee and service was perfect.

Wow, this place is a great little spot on the edge of the town centre. Me and my partner live just around the corner from Malt, and so we pass it on a daily basis.

Having read some excellent reviews, we decided to try Malt for breakfast. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff were lovely and welcoming and we had delicious food.

Had breakfast here full English carnivore delicious streaky bacon sausage mushrooms eggs beans and sourdough toast all cooked to perfection. Coffee was good and strong . The staff friendly and attentive. Bit more pricey than other places nearby but worth it . Good quality ingredients and lovely atmosphere will definitely return . Great place and Yummy food .

Yet again the 'carnivore' breakfast was cooked to perfection, deliciously flavour-some, and speedily served. It was more than hot enough to remain warm during my leisurely eating pace. Best bread/toast everrrrr.

Don't live in Worthing, we were staying in a nearby hotel walked by liked the look and went in. So glad we did. Gentleman who served us really welcoming. I had creamy mushrooms on toast (absolutely delicious) my husband had smoked salmon with eggs which he loved. They are doing something right as it was busy with people coming and going he whole time we were in . When I'm next in Worthing I will definitely be calling in again.

Happened to pass by chance on the way to another cafe for Sunday breakfast. The modern style and decor was welcoming and so decided to venture in. The menu offered both traditional and innovative alternatives or just very good coffee . I opted for the chorizo hash with fried eggs, and my partner scrambled egg and salmon. Both fantastic. Pleasant welcome and friendly staff. Recommended for a perfect slow relaxing start to a Sunday.

I went in for a coffee with a friend and had a huge plate of delicious food instead, which kept me going ALL DAY!! It was one of those meals that looked so nice the table next to us asked for "what she has please" and judging by the empty plate, the verdict was the same!! Yum! Oh and did I mention friendly staff, busy buzzy atmosphere, warm. All the things you want on a cold winter morning.

Since I discovered this cafe over a year ago it has been my favourite coffee shop to visit in Worthing.Taking two friends for coffee and cake on Monday afternoon we were told at two minutes past four they were closed; I’m certain that in the past I have been served after four o’clock in the afternoon and I felt very disappointed as there does not appear to be any visible signage of the four o’clock closing time.

I came in with my two dogs, the man behind the counter could see I was struggling a bit with the dogs and told me he would bring my drink over to where I was sitting.

From the second you walk in the staff provide an absolutely brilliant service. In addition the choice of food for brunch is excellent.

A friend recommended Malt for breakfast and we were not disappointed. I'd say the cooked breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in a café. Everything on the menu looked delicious and seeing the various dishes brought out, they certainly looked fantastic. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our order was taken and served very quickly even though the cafe was very busy. I'll definitely be going back if I am back in Worthing. We had a super first visit to Malt today, such a friendly welcoming atmosphere, with extremely good coffee at a very reasonable price.

We were in Worthing to pick up a recent purchase and just mentioned to the local store owner that we were planning lunch and needing somewhere dog friendly on a very wet day. He suggested Malt. Well, what a surprise. The place was packed. Looking at reviews and talking to other customers I get the impression they are offering something a little less traditional than Worthing usually offers (most nearby cafes were empty yet Malt was rammed). Great simple interior. Warm and friendly welcome. Dog friendly. Fantastic varied menu of traditional breakfasts and trendy brunch type dishes. Our coffee and food were great. If I were being hyper-critical, maybe my bacon and black pudding were a tad more crispy than I would like. But certainly not enough to spoil my enjoyment or stop me coming again. And any bookworms and antique hunters should know it's just yards from Badger Books (one of Sussex's better 2nd hand bookshops) and Reginald Ballum antiques is just a 5 minute walk along Rowlands Rd. All good reasons, along with Malt, to come to Worthing.

Went on Saturday night for my partners birthday (we brunch there regularly) we had the Meat platter,Veggie platter and a cheese platter as there where 5 of us, ALL where beautifully prepared and hot the spot, flavors on the platters really complimented each other, good wine reasonably priced as always good laid back tunes in the back ground O and finished off the the puddin platter My word, the 5 of us where smiling like Chesire Cats n Content.We will be back with even more friends.

Visiting Worthing and came across this cafe for breakfast. Probably the nicest flat white I’ve ever had and I have drunk a lot of coffee. Ate brunch which was great we all had the carnivore breakfast, portions were generous and you have a choice of how you’d like your eggs cooked,

We love Malt, the coffee and food is always amazing, excellent service and the atmosphere is always good. Unfortunately there is no changing table in the toilet, not even a drop down one over the toilet which there is room for. No likely to change my baby in restaurants uncase people get funny I resorted to changing her on the cold tiled floor which ended in her getting very upset so will possibly have to avoid Malt for the time being until the she is a little older.

I have been to Malt many a time on a Saturday morning for a cup of coffee. However, unfortunately I think my days of going there are over. It's atmosphere is fantastic - brimming full with everyone from couples, families and those like me alone having a coffee it is always busy. The food, never tried, also looks amazing and the service is friendly. However, it is massively overpriced. My Americano is £ 3.20 which is nearly double some of the other local cafes and more expensive than premium Brighton. Obviously it doesn't seem to bother people going but feels a bit morally wrong charging so much for what is really hot water and one shot of coffee.

A small cafe with limited seating I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, superb. My wife had traditional English and that was also good. My wife found the seating , bench against the wall, uncomfortable but there are also chairs so you have to be lucky!

A small menu of sharing boards - charcuterie (£23), vegetarian, cheese and desserts (£14). The charcuterie platter had a delicious pate, chorizo paste, smoky speck, brie, asparagus and crispy ham, crispy fried potatoes, roasted vegetables and bread and olives. Certainly enough for two and very satisfying. The dessert platter (£14) had ice cream, cheesecake, chocolate brownies, chocolate sauce and popping candy. Again all very tasty and sufficient for two. With a very nice Picpoul (£21.50) from a good wine list, the bill came to £58.50. Very pleasant service. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, stylish decor with a lovely, relaxed, easy atmosphere, Malt is one of the best places to eat in Worthing. It offers a small range of distinct and gorgeous breakfast, brunch and lunch-style dishes that are freshly made and are beautifully presented by friendly, upbeat and sunny staff. It’s a great little popular place to dine in and it’s always a treat to go there. Highly recommended.

What first drew me to Malt was the fact that they have an extensive breakfast/brunch menu, most of which is vegetarian, and their really good social media presence. However, whilst the food was absolutely delicious, I did find it was quite pricey. For two breakfasts, a tea and an iced latte, the bill was around £30 which is simply too much.

The food served here is the best in town! Also the coffee tastes great and always with a pretty design! We can’t wait coming back.

Coffee is outstanding. Long black is sublime... if you’re a fan of the high bar set but Small Batch you won’t be disappointed here.

A fabulous place for breakfast. It has a really nice feel about the place as soon as you walk through the door. It's buzzing with conversation and you can't help yourself form sparking up a quick chat with the table next to you.

Excellent coffee. Friendly, competent service. Lovely food - £3 for toast and peanut butter, big slabs of fresh bread, beautiful peanut butter, that tasted fabulous - what's not to like? If a cafe does the basics this well, that's a good sign. Would go back.

Another fabulous, superb, delicious and memorable lunch at Malt. This place is very special indeed. It’s stylish, smart, welcoming and homely. It manages to offer that warm hug through its delicious food and coffee and also through the genuinely friendly, warm and authentic welcome from the owners and staff. There’s a wonderful energy about the place...an air of excitement from diners and those working there. Diners know they are going to enjoy something special and the staff know that they are offering something really rather very good....in fact, it’s more than very good...it’s outstanding...sensational even.

Molly says...a great little café that taps into the current trend of offering good quality brunches. The menu has vegetarian and vegan options. The vibe is laid back and the decor pared back repurposed (look out for the rope concealing light flexes). The scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were plentiful and delicious and the addition of the purple basil was a pleasant twist.

Came here for the first time- friendly staff. Small place and you can’t book so you have to hope for the best if there is a table free. Their menu is on the board so you have to stand and see what you want the order and pay at till.

Have been to Malt a few times now and always recommend to friends visiting the area. Brunch style food options are very tasty, including the veggie breakfast and good selection of hot drinks. A nice place to go for a coffee and food with friends.

The moment you walk through the door you’re welcomed as a returning friend and not as a customer. Simon and Lesley are delightful and their food is incredible! The chorizo hash is so tasty that I didn’t make it past that on the menu for about 6 months. Their coffee is excellent (so good I’ve bought the beans off them to make it at home too). And now they’re open at night too for sharing platters and wine. WINNING!

What incredible food, wine and atmosphere as this delightful coffee house is transformed into an elegant hot spot for Friday and Saturday evenings. Leslie and Simon are consistently welcoming hosts. The chef produces unusual and inspired food. Worth every penny.
