Visited with two elderly relatives and the staff could not have been more helpful. Service was perfect and food and coffee excellent. Will definitely be using this place when I visit Truro in the future.

Lovely lunch today 13th Sept, large jacket potato for my wife, with a large slice of ham and a ploughman’s lunch for me with an excellent side salad and again a large slice of the same cooked ham. Pot of tea with extra water and a well flavoured coffee. The cakes on display looked tempting but we were to full to consider even sharing a slice. Great waitress service from the ladies.

Both my wife and I have experienced poor service. Actually more of a ‘the customer’s wrong’ type attitude. They couldn’t do less for you! If it was t for the variety of products, we wouldn’t go there. When you compare the service you get at bigger stores, you have thought some personal service would be the focus for a relatively small business. The staff need re-training!!

Waited almost an hour to get our food, and it wasn't even difficult food; a couple of toasted sandwiches and a panini. Once the food had arrived, it looked sad to say the least, and the toast was burnt! Only had 1 very young girl waitressing, whilst a young boy was standing behind the till doing what seemed to be absolutely nothing. Extremely unorganised. 100% NEVER returning!

Arrived with a friend for late lunch. The board said, “last order 3.30” Sat down at 2.45 and was told no hot food. Asked about what was stipulated on the board, and was then told, “we are short staffed.” Which was said in a rude manner. Having seen 4 members of staff, we fiund this a bit hard to believe! Due to this appalling service, we left. We then went into Coffee traders a few doors down, to be met with extremely welcoming staff, prompt service and a reasonably priced extensive menu. Nothing was too much trouble!

Just. The most amazing breakfast possible. Despite it being busy everything was just perfect. Could not fault the scrambled eggs.

Ordered a Cream Tea for one. Service was slow (although everything is made to order so you do expect a longer wait). Table service good. Quick to come over when you first sit down. Reasonable priced. Slow to clear away tables. Good overall service although lots of options nearby of better price, value and service.

Service was very slow, ordered a pasty which took ages and when it arrived turned out to be soggy and tasteless.

We always visit Mallett's large hardware shop on our October holiday, each year. We also always have lunch in the cafe before going on to Falmouth. The food is very good - an excellent place for light lunch. I had the pasty, which was the best - largely due to the pastry - pasty that I ate all week. The pastry seems to be a strength here - they advertise gluten free pastry on a number of things including pies, and judging by the normal pastry I ahd, I expect it is very good. The cafe is nicely done out, not at all noisy and canteen-ish as you might imagine a department store cafe would be.

This is a truly a store where you can find anything to do with hardware for the home, the staff are lovely and very helpful. The coffee shop is just perfect, clean, with excellent service. The menu is good with a nice selection of cakes. It's the perfect place, right in the centre of Truro, to relax and enjoy a coffee while you're out shopping.

Comfy setting & very friendly staff. I had the homity pie, which was very filling. They have soya milk, which is a bonus for me. Waitress service, too!

Visited on Wednesday lunchtime with my wife, found a table which had not yet been cleared but not a problem. We tried to order at the counter but told that it was table service. So we sat and waited, after another 20 minutes the previous dishes had still not been cleared so we decided to go somewhere else. Disappointing because we have eaten her before and enjoyed it.

Have been going here for many years and foodalways good. However on 2 recent visits the service has be unbelievably slow! Took about 15 mins to clear table, another 25 mins to order food! Almost gave up. People who came in after us had their food before we’d even ordered. Frustrating. Can’t fault the food though when you get it! Service side letting them down.

Visited here while on a shopping trip to Truro and very pleased that we did. My husband enjoyed his homity pie and the toasties and sandwiches were delicious too, particularly the ham, cheese and pineapple toastie. The staff were also very accommodating and happily provided extra teabags as requested as we like strong tea! Nice place to visit and the shop was great too!

We were actually planning to visit the café two doors up which is brilliant but were enticed by the advertised children eat free, so two adults plus 1 year old arrived at around half 12 midweek.

We were welcomed on entering, given full table service not often seen, extensive menu for a coffee shop (slightly overwhelming) but all reasonably priced. Worth finding if you are not from the area.

We found this café inside a large shop which we must have passed a few times on previous visits to Truro, I had a coffee and my wife had a pot of tea and both had a cake which was very good and not expensive.

The Coffee shop at Malletts provides teas and coffees with tea cake, cakes of various kinds and hot food such as baked potatoes. I find their quiche particularly good (deep filled) and a nice salad on the side and their prawn mayo potatoes are generous with the prawns. The place is clean and bright and attractive. You sit down and there is waitress service which is prompt and cheerful. If you are lucky, you can get a place by the window overlooking a busy street which is pleasant. As it is in a very useful shop where you can buy presents for young and old and kitchen ware as well as all sorts of useful bits and pieces for the home and garden, it is a good place for a mid morning stop.

Enjoyed teas, coffees in this coffee shop. on a couple of occasions have enjoyed a toasted teacake/saffron bun and had so much butter offered my cholesterol must have had an apoplectic shock! The latte was first class, though I felt some of the prices were a bit high. Will go again, nicely decorated coffee shop, in the middle of the city with good views of the shops in Victoria Square

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
