mak's kitchen is a very small little family run business that you could easily walk past. i went to the one on rose lane a few weeks ago an it was very posh looking but overprices and the food very basic. i had parked my car by this little takeway s decided to try her and WOW it was briliant. i got so much food for £21 and it was asoutely delicious. you must give it a try and you wll see what i mean. would NEVER go anywhere else.

Definately recommend. Very good food, large portionds, and great service. I don't agree with the poor rating given on May 2019. Yes, it can be busy at times but is well worth trying.

First time visiting Mak's Kitchen tonight. Excellent service and excellent food. Well priced for the huge portions, will definitely be visiting there again.

Extremely polite customer service, young boy at the counter helped me decide on what to eat and was very kind, a recommendation would be the sweet and sour chicken or banquet special, amazing.

Maks is much improved under its latest owners. It’s been pretty indifferent until recently. Since Kenny’s closed down years ago this local takeaway tucked away in Bridge Road, seems to have seen a number of people operating it. It’s now as good as it’s ever been, with a good menu.

Mak’s is a great Chinese takeaway. The one star review is very unfair- don’t pay any heed to it. As my local, I’d very much recommend it. They do great noodle snack boxes- which are actually so stuffed I’d take 2 meals to get through them! Also really enjoy the sweet and sour chicken, and the ribs, which are tender and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful, and hardworking. Currently we are in the easing stage of lockdown (July 2020), but they have changed their entire layout to support health and safety recommendations- there’s a screen the length of the shop and little windows to pass out food etc. Just note they only take cash, not card (has always been the case) Winner of a takeaway- great food- which is why it sometimes gets busy!

Myself and my friends have had food from here a few times in recent months, and it's always been delicious. Portions are big and well priced. Never had to wait more than 15-20 mins for an order. Staff are always friendly and service is provided with a smile.

Had to wait over 45 mins for a takeaway although the lady at reception indicated 25, when I got to eat the food it was just awful. It has since gone in the bin as it simply wasn't edible. Very disappointed as I was convinced the longer wait would mean better food but that wasn't the case!

This is a hidden gem, a great proper chippy. Very friendly. You get served straight away and it never takes too long. The portions are very big - it's definitely worth scaling down a portion or so, so you can split it. The veggie options are good, including the spring rolls and the veggie Singapore rice.

We have lived local to Mak's Kitchen since it opened and visit it regularly. The service is always friendly and professional and the food is always made quickly, without a compromise on quality. Good value for money too.

Tried this for a change from our usual take away. Pleased with the result. Great hot and sour soup. Great BBQ ribs. Good chips. Chow mein was tasty but neede a little more meat as did the chilli beef. Rice was good and fresh. Will definitely go again

I hadn't been here since it changed hands from Epan Kitchen as previous signage had suggested it was a noodle bar. Having discovered that it is a Chinese takeaway as well I decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed, the food was gorgeous and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be returning as a regular.

I’ve been going to Chows for over 30 years. There isn’t a better chippy in the city in my opinion. Portions are always more than generous. Real value for money. I moved away from the area and didn’t go as often so I started trying the chippys in the area I now live. I tried them and I now travel a few miles just to go to Chows as no other chippy is anywhere near as nice.

This seemed like one of these highly recommended places to eat in Liverpool according to best places to eat at articles, so thought I give it a try as it was near the hotel and was still taking orders around 9pm. Ordered the three meat with boiled rice and some sesame prawn on toast. The prawn on toast was very well made i.e..plenty of the stuffing/prawn paste, not just all bread. The three meat rice was also very substantive. I actually found just getting the rice dish would have been enough. So for the price paid for the 2 items, was pretty decent. In terms of taste, the sesame prawn toast was good and something I would get again. The three meat was nothing special; the char siu/roast pork was pretty good, the duck was probably too dry and a bit lacking compared to authentic Chinese roast duck from a Chinese restaurant/cafe, and the roasted chicken was as it is on the tin...roast chicken. As a three meat rice dish, doesn't fully compare to the authentic stuff I usually would get. Overall, was a very filling meal and I would go back if in Liverpool again to try other dishes. Did think it was better than wagamamas. I think it is quite a unique place and holds its own flair i.e. not a big chain type food establishment so does invest in some care to how they cook and present the food. You can see into their open kitchen. The serving staff were all very attentive and friendly and was easy to get their attention for assistance when needed. It does have a canteen trendy style atmosphere i.e. a Asian canteen/food court x bar (lights were on the dim). If you want a quick sit down and be fed then then is definitely a place to go to (during none peak hours).
