Maggie Fu in Liverpool

This seemed like one of these highly recommended places to eat in Liverpool according to best places to eat at articles, so thought I give it a try as it was near the hotel and was still taking orders around 9pm. Ordered the three meat with boiled rice and some sesame prawn on toast. The prawn on toast was very well made i.e..plenty of the stuffing/prawn paste, not just all bread. The three meat rice was also very substantive. I actually found just getting the rice dish would have been enough. So for the price paid for the 2 items, was pretty decent. In terms of taste, the sesame prawn toast was good and something I would get again. The three meat was nothing special; the char siu/roast pork was pretty good, the duck was probably too dry and a bit lacking compared to authentic Chinese roast duck from a Chinese restaurant/cafe, and the roasted chicken was as it is on the tin...roast chicken. As a three meat rice dish, doesn't fully compare to the authentic stuff I usually would get. Overall, was a very filling meal and I would go back if in Liverpool again to try other dishes. Did think it was better than wagamamas. I think it is quite a unique place and holds its own flair i.e. not a big chain type food establishment so does invest in some care to how they cook and present the food. You can see into their open kitchen. The serving staff were all very attentive and friendly and was easy to get their attention for assistance when needed. It does have a canteen trendy style atmosphere i.e. a Asian canteen/food court x bar (lights were on the dim). If you want a quick sit down and be fed then then is definitely a place to go to (during none peak hours).

We've been here a few times now when we've been in Liverpool, the food is always lovely and the service is great, the wait times arent not too long, the longest we've ever waited for a table is about thirty minutes, the only thing I would say is we ordered prawn toast and it was very, very hot!

Back in the day food was actually decent, but over the past years FELL OFF, made me really ill and throw up ( felt like my organs were trying to escape my body), food is quick but abit too quick …can find other places for similar price with better food quality

It was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. The service was amazing particularly from Rachel who had a great sense of humour and was so helpful. The food was served quickly and everything we had was gorgeous, we will definitely visit again!

Chinese food favourite absolutely Maggie Fu is loved by all the family when either dining in or ordering on uber! Ramen bowl spicy broth with three meats and added wantons 😍

Got there at 5 and was already fairly busy, by the time we were leaving close to 6 all the tables were taken so best to get there early to avoid disappointment. The layout was nice, and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and decoration. The staff were friendly. There were good food options and the food we ate was very tasty and filling. Would recommend

Been meaning to visit Maggies for a while and had a day off so thought why not. Ordered the curry ramen with duck, beef and chicken. Very generous meat portion, the noodles took a back seat though, felt like there was hardly any there and not great quality. Needs rebalancing, the noodles should be king! I've had some amazing ramen in Japan and even London and ramen this is not. As its own thing though it was tasty, curry broth had a strong five spice flavour. Would recommend the Duck as the other two were too dry. Nice pint of Asahi to go with it helped! Service was good though and food came quick, no complaints there. Worth a visit, its good value. Maybe try some of the dry noodle or rice dishes.

Excellent service and food portions really large so consider having a starter and a side as a main as we both left a lot of the main meal and this appeared to be the same with other diners. Quality of food was very good and could not fault that it was hot a freshly cooked.

Excellent lunch - prompt service with a smile. The food was amazing and great value for money. I had classic Pad Thai with chicken and a boiled egg. Really good. I'd recommend without a doubt 👍

Very cool place. They serve you in 3 minutes after order. Note, you need to order at the cashier, waiters doesn’t take the orders. But serving is lightning speed. Very quality ramen. Recommend

Visitamos este restaurante a las 3 pm el domingo, tengo que decir que la comida era simplemente increíble y tan razonable precio (£ 45 para dos de nosotros con un entrante cada uno, un plato principal cada uno y una bebida alcohólica) Tuvimos un pequeño problema, pero antes incluso de tener la oportunidad de quejarnos el problema se resolvió y también se compensó sin siquiera preguntar, por mucho el MEJOR servicio al cliente que he visto en Liverpool el personal es realmente el mejor, este será mi nuevo ir al restaurante

🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮 SALTY I had 2 mouth fulls and I could not eat it after complaining I was offered a takeaway box, bit of an insult.😂🤣 dont wait go somewhere else salty horrible food, and I love my food.

Food we got tasted like a bad takeaway and we had a 30 mins wait to get it :/ Was expecting at least making and ramen/wagamama level of food but it's genuinely bad soggy takeaway food. Do not recommend. (We had black bean rice bowl and sweet and sour rice bowl + chips and hoision/teriyaki buns, the buns were okay but ta but bland)

Esas críticas positivas eran correctas y puedo decir Maggie Fu no solo tiene excelente y sabrosa comida, pero increíble y atento personal (especialmente Rachel) y un ambiente encantador y acogedor. Recomendaría para cualquiera que busque tener buena comida asiática.

Rachael is very nice and helpful. Three meat steamed rice & Sui Mai are good as like Hong Kong style. Highly recommended!

We had a very good dinner, the dishes are abundant, it is something to leave hungry, as we liked it a lot we went back to eat another day, the staff is very efficient and pleasant, I recommend it if you visit the city

Was treated to amazing food at Maggie fu today for lunch by our son , atmosphere,staff, food and service was flawless all amazing we can’t believe how fast & efficient the staff &service was we loved everything about it racheal is such an asset to Maggie fu, she goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome & comfortable amazing friendly girl definitely would recommend you give it a try you won’t be disappointed 10/10

As an American expat who quickly fell in love with the Liverpool/British food culture, this is my favorite place to go to get a quick bite of food. I highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken big bowl or the katsu curry. Rachel is super nice and welcoming- always making sure all of her customers are seen to. For anyone traveling to Liverpool, this is a place you MUST go to!!

Just been in for lunch with my parents, never disappointed always great food, super fast service and amazing staff. Don’t think I’ve ever meet anyone as friendly, warm and helpful as Rachel. The first time I went to Maggie Fu, Rachel was there and It felt like she was a friend of many years, such a lovely friendly soul. Again today was no difference, it’s staff like Rachel who make the Maggie Fu experience what it is. If you’re in town you have to give this place a visit or two.

Great food served quickly, especially the S&P shredded chicken 👌, but the prawn crackers with dips make it almost perfect! JUST NEED TO ADD COFFEE TO THE MENU! ☕😂🤞

Easily the best Chinese food we've ever had highly recommend

Its chip shop quality food you sit in and eat. There are storage boxes of prawn crackers on the restaurant floor which looks a bit weird as staff shovel them out and take them to tables who have ordered them. The portions are large, the price for some things seems a bit steep for what it is. Its tasty enough but it's not on a par with Chinatown or Chamber 36 if youre going to spend restaurant money for chip shop style food.

Ordered from Uber eats, the food came very quickly, presented and preserved well however once the food was tasted myself and my partner grimaced at the taste of the Char Sui ramen. The broth was weird, meat practically inedible. So disappointing as a lot of money was spent due to hearing good things about this place. Avoid this restaurant the food is not a good representation of the authentic Chinese food Liverpool has to offer.

Gorgeous place, loved the vibe. I was very happy that they have a separate vegetarian/ vegan menu. The menu itself isn't enormous but I think that's why it's so good. The food is fresh and made to order. My mum and sister ordered meat items that looked good - roast duck and a ramen dish. I had a tofu and veg noodle dish. The tofu was cooked to perfection! Not sure I've ever eaten such good tofu before! The sauce was a bit too gingery for me but that's just my taste. Loved my veg goyoza but the spring rolls weren't amazing. You have to pay at a till then food comes when it's ready. It was nice not to have to wait for the bill but I did miss having someone check on us for drinks etc. Considering where in Liverpool it is based, I was really impressed with the price. Very reasonable. Mains were around £10 starters about £5-6 Would definitely recommend and will return.

Visited this evening after a day at the races. The food was lovely and the service was great. Highly recommend.

Absolutely incredible ramen (rich, flavourful broth, perfectly cooked noodles and good topping options). You can tell they take pride in every bowl. Super friendly staff, very quick service, and a cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend(peek the before and after photos of my lunch)!

Food arrives quickly. Freshly made and healthy food. Sadly, excessive salt on the ramen tum yum broth. Great restaurant concept (pink neon, samurai imagery, etc). Recommended!

Maggie Fu is another great spot for Asian/Chinese food. There are plenty of seats, and even when it's busy, they usually manage to find you a table pretty quickly based on my experience. The service is fast too—you won’t have to wait long for your food. The rice bowls are solid and just the way I like them. I’d recommend the shredded crispy beef with fried rice—flavorful and satisfying! I haven’t tried the noodles yet, but judging from everything else I’ve had, I imagine they’re great too.

We usually go to the Smithdown road but visited Hanover restaurant today . Seen Rachel in both restaurants and Rachel was amazing and friendly as always . Made to feel welcome straight away and Rachel always makes us smile . My little girl always wants to visit Maggie Fu specifically to see Rachel . Thankyou so much and see you again soon ,

We couldn't book a table online, but only had a 20 min wait (Saturday teatime) The food was so good! I had chicken satay skewers to start + the shredded chilli beef with chilli sauce big bowl & fried rice. I could've done without the starter tbf, as the main was more than enough The others really enjoyed their food aswell. Staff there are so lovely. We will definitely be back next time we're in Lpool!

Thai green curry was lovely , husband had sticky chicken that was also delicious. I had a Prosecco cocktail and hubby had beer. Added salt and pepper chips- lots of them and really lovely. Food was hot and came almost as soon as we had ordered it! £45 ish total. Efficient lunchtime service would definitely return !

I ordered the ramen with spicy broth and three meat toppings at Maggie Fu, and it was truly amazing! The flavors were spot on. I've fallen in love with this place, and whenever I'm in Liverpool, Maggie Fu is definitely my go-to spot for noodles. Special thanks to Rachel for her exceptional service! Well what fabulous food - we came on a recommendation from our son and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was delicious - we went for late lunch at 3.30 - perfect for prompt service, attention from the staff and lots of time to let it digest because we couldn’t stop eating. They very kindly provide a take home what’s left but we couldn’t take advantage as we are in a hotel. Perfect

A very busy Chinese restaurant in the heart of Liverpool, food is nice, big portions and at good prices, you scan into a queueing system and wait your turn, they are quite happy for you to take your left overs home if not eaten inside

Came into the restaurant with my 10 month old son and was greeted by Rachel , straight away I was offered a high chair for my son . A very delicious ramen and oriental dishes place where they serve you very quickly and very well. The place is worth it. Perhaps the somewhat expensive price and the lack of variety of beers is what makes me not give it a five for everything.

I visited around 5:30pm on a Tuesday evening, a little more than half the tables were full, I was greeted immediately with a friendly welcome. The service was ultra quick, my drink came straight away and was promptly followed by salt and pepper fries piled high and an equally generously portioned three meat ramen. The fries were proper tasty but hey I came for the ramen and it did not disappoint. Plenty of noodles swamped in a meaty broth which was full of flavour and accompanied by some gorgeous cuts of meat. Out of the three the duck was my favourite and when I visit again I’ll definitely want it again! From the decor to the staff, the service and the food, they have got everything spot on. It’s incredible value for the price. Very happy I stumbled across this place - 100% recommend.

I was traveling to the UK and suddenly missed Asian food so much that I accidentally found this shop on the Dog Map. After taking the takeout back to the hotel, I found it to be amazingly delicious. The portions are sufficient and the taste is delicious. No wonder even the indoor area is full on weekdays. It is really the best Asian restaurant I have eaten in Europe so far, even though I usually live in Germany.

Fab meal today service couldn't ask for better coming from Manchester loved it and the waitress Rachel so attentive and gave the nicest welcome lovely lady 😀

Had a lovely experience at maggi fu on hanover street the food always comes out quickly and tastes absolutely amazing the portion sizes are wonderful and the staff are fantastic greeting everyone with a warm and welcoming smile and even going to the extent to say goodbye they check up on you throughout your mean and are very attentive my server the lovely Rachel is such a wonderful lady not just with me but with all the customers she interacts with would give her 5 stars on my own if I could this is a must place to visit if you are in Liverpool

Staff were very friendly upon arrival and couldn’t do more to help. As soon as entering they were very helpful Service was quick, food was great and very tasty. Not left hanging around waiting and even able to take a doggy bag back. Rachel was so helpful when serving us and couldn’t do more to help

The food was awful nothing like I expected a Malaysian chicken curry on the bone, I mean really! It not only looked terrible it tasted terrible, boiled to death as was the rice. This place is a take away disguising itself as a restaurant. No coffee No Desserts. Bland Bland Bland
