Maggie Fu in Liverpool

Wow, what an amazing find! I wish Maggie Fu had a place nearer to us, but on an unplanned trip to Liverpool, it was fabulous luck to find this place. The food was amazing, such gorgeous flavours and pretty good value too. 4 happy and full diners.

This is literally the worst food I have ever eaten. And there is no way any of these reviews are real because this food is so so so so tasteless . Literally disgusting. I ordered a vegetable Thai green curry, it came like water, I literally could have poured it into a cup it was so watery, and SO spicy. When the waiter told me it was mild? Veg spring rolls took one bite and was disgusted literally horrible . I looked inside and couldn’t even see vegetables just like a ball of gelatine like substance? Guessing MSG. The food was the worst please don’t waste your money!!!!??!!

Went here today, we were on table28. There were 9 of us celebrating a friends birthday. We were served by a lovely young lady called Rachel. She was so warm and friendly. She looked after us so well. It really does make a difference when you get good service like this. Well done Rachel, you are a credit to your employers. Cant wait to come back, the food was lovely. Very tasty and piping hot. Would highly reccomend Maggie Fu's.

the food is good, but VERY spicy, and unfortunately it doesn’t say so on the menu. when we ordered we had no idea how hot it would be and after trying it, we couldn’t eat it and had to switch it for something much less spicy. fortunately, the staff, especially our waitress was extremely friendly and gladly exchanged our food. the prices are decent and the service is quick.

My daughter was upset as her foot had started to rub. When we went into Maggie Fu, Rachel came up to see if we had been asked about a table and we hadn't at that point. Rachel noticed that my daughter was crying and from the off made a fuss of her. My daughter is usually quite shy but Rachel made her feel happy and offered her some colours and a menu to colour in. Whilst this doesn't seem like much to some, it was major to my daughter. She also said that she would get her some prawn crackers as well. As soon as we sat down, Rachel came over and gave her the colours and menu and a few drawn crackers. She was happier with the colouring in and we got the crackers! Rachel was attentive not just to us but to everyone she came into contact with. I feel that customer service is becoming something of a burden to those that work in the industry these days, long hours, working shitmfts, weekends, etc. but a lot can be learnt from Rachel today. She checked on is and served our food making sure she made a fuss of my daughter the whole time. Not only is the food in Maggie Fu amazing but so are the staff too. Every time I go in there they always seem happy and attentive and really get on well and it's been the same staff for a while now. Well done to the team and to Rachel today.

Maggie fu are always amazing. The food is always 10/10 super fresh but This time we came with my gran who’s in a wheel chair and Rachel was so helpful! She helped with getting us a good table & helping with accessibility to the toilet. Great service and great food :)

A Short delay in getting in and seated was okay but it was about 25minutes before we realised you were supposed to order at the bar, not impressed as we had not been told and it wasn’t obvious. The bowl of 3 meat Ramen that I had ordered arrived and was ridiculous in size, I mean ridiculously huge. Unfortunately apart from the meat (a large serving but mediocre quality) the noodles at the bottom of the bowl had to be searched for, 3 miserable pieces of pak choi and a greasy tasteless slop that was meant to be flavourful. I had enjoyed a ramen meal at the house of fu in Manchester a few weeks which was very tasty so comparing it to what I had last night at Maggie fu was difficult. I guess you could say maggie flu’s is on par with a tasteless, all you can eat style Chinese (not Asian) banquet. Looking around the tables were full of food but nobody was finishing the meals. It was expensive too. My hubby said his food was okay and the prawn toast was good but otherwise there was nothing that would make me recommend this restaurant or want to go back.

First time we've been, heard a lot about it and weren't disappointed. Quality, portion sizes and quick service all very impressive. And not expensive either. Special mention to Rachel who was lovely and made us all feel welcome. Will be back soon.

After a day of exploring Liverpool by foot and a few pubs an Asian dinner was in order. This place is amazing for the best menu with the greatest foods and the loveliest staff that is also well priced and efficient in their service - a real inspiration to anyone wanting over into the hospitality game. Be it entrees mains rice or noodles you cannot go wrong here. Just ticked all the boxes and a big thank you to the Maggie Fu team.

Came for a little late lunch with my family today and I’ve wanted to try Maggie Fu’s. It did not disappoint. The service was great from the get go, we where recommended most of our dishes from Rachael as we’ve never been before and everything we ordered was gorgeous and had so many flavours. Can’t wait to come back again and try more of there menu.

Do you want good food? Do you want great service? Do you want great staff attention? Do you want reasonable prices? If so try this restaurant. Great service from the gentleman who took us to our table the moment we went in to the staff who served our food. Special mention to Rachael who made us feel so welcome like we had known her all our lives, well all her life as I am probably more than twice her age. Great job guys keep it up and see you soon. The chicken gyoza were fried and I didn’t expect this as usually in another places they are steamed , so I didn’t like them at all. The spicy udon was good but too much oily sauce. However , the service was quick and the portion size of udon was good. Overall, it wasn’t bad experience , but I can’t say that I want to come back.

Quick service and nice food - big portions too

I came to this restaurant on the 10th of January and had the chicken and pineapple fried rice. I did not finish the dish as it was extremely salty and later that night realised I was seriously poorly with salmonella. I have a good mind to report this restaurant as I had to go in the hospital due to dehydration from being so I’ll from the chicken!

The portions were larger than expected. There were some hit and miss dishes, not all were good. The bao bun were too oily and we didn’t even try them.

Really lovely food, really lovely staff. The prawn toast was amazing! I could eat plate after plate! There was a bit of a wait to be seated (15-20min) as we went on a Friday evening, so it was a bit busy, so I definitely suggest booking in advance. Will definitely be going back!

Trying some new restaurants (new to us anyway!) & this one is a winner!! Starting off with roast chicken in steamed buns, then I had beef with mixed peppers in black bean sauce. We also had chicken pad thai & Thai green chicken curry - all of these were very, very nice & for the money, extremely good value. The main courses in the big bowls just appeared to be never ending & the 3 of us walked out of there saying how nice it was & how full we were!! Definitely one to go to again.

Service gere was SO good! Visited with my husband and baby. We were warned that it could be a little wait as so popular. Kas told us about the virtual que, and she would let us know about 20minutes before when the table was due to be ready. Never had service like this before. Blown away by it. So helpful, friendly and a huge hit with my son. All the staff were polite and had smiles, and all took the time to say hello to our boy. Silly little things lile this mean alot! He had so much fun flirting. The food was super quick, fresh and hot! Really couldnt have asked for more.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Sol with a welcoming smile. When ordering our food Elsa was brilliant. When it came to us tasting her recommendations they did not disappoint. Really good customer service from both Elsa and Sol which made our experience at this restaurant a lot more enjoyable. Thanks guys, we will definately be returning.

Must visit place if you like Chinese , one of the best restaurants I've ever been to , great food great beer and great staff , planning to return to Liverpool and will definitely go to Maggie fu's

Attended at 10:00pm and was told no people was being served. However, the website states 11pm opening times and no offer of take away was given was told to go to another Chinese up the road that was open till 2am. Really bad service as the website is misleading.

Just be prepared for large plates. Food was fantastic... There was a lot of it 😊

The food was very reasonably priced and worth every penny! I would recommend the food here, tasty and filling!

Nothing special, pretty basic food and service. Just good ambience and kitchen set up. The ramen tasted like chinese food rather than Japanese, only thing I liked was the gyoza, most of the foods were sweet we didn't even finished our foods. Staffs gathered and chatted and laughed away while they're all looked at their customers not clearing your plates whatsoever.

The broth was overly spiced and oily.

Food portions good for price Food came out quick was really busy so everyone seemed rushed. Having to move tables around alot. Could only book a couple hours ahead on the day. The take out option is great bring you boxes if you can't finish all. 8 of us ment we tried alot of the menu and all was nice!

I was really looking forward to it before trying because my friend recommended it, and it is in liverpool long, however the quality of food does not meet my expectations. We ordered salt and pepper chicken with fried rice and salt and pepper king prawn with fried rice. The king prawn is ok. But the chicken is very very hard to chew. And is extremely dry, i have eat the chicken separately because it is just too hard to go with the rice. Also the fried rice just not got enough wok hay and i believe wok hay is the soul of fried rice, and it is just not hot enough. I cannot tell if it is the cook or waiter’s fault, but it just need to be serve hot and you should be able to smell the rice when it is served. Good thing is, price and portion is very generous. And i like the vibe of this restaurant. However, the food really need to improve especially the chicken

Eight of us landed here last night, with no reservation, and we had a great time. Ordered at the bar, drinks and starters came almost immediately. The food was delicious, so was the house white wine! The staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you so much. Will definitely be calling the next time we're in Liverpool.

I absolutely love this place, the portions are super generous and full of flavour. The sides are impressive and taste amazing too. Staff are very pleasant and friendly, a wonderful place to visit with family and friends.

Unreal restaurant! Every time we have been the food has been really great, and the staff are always lovely. Food is served when it is ready so not in a traditional restaurant sense, but this personally doesn't matter to me. Love it!

First time here and what an unexpected surprise it was.. Excellent food quality and taste. We got the Three meat Spicy Ramen bowl, the Three meat rice bowl and bao bun. Must visit when in Liverpool!

Wow! Everyone should visit Maggie's. The staff are friendly, welcoming and so helpful. The food is sublime, there's no words really. We stumbled across this restaurant while visiting Liverpool and it didn't disappoint.

I ordered maggie fu for a takeaway and ordered salt and pepper chicken with fried rice, fried duck gaozas and prawn crackers. The prawn crackers was missing. The food was a bit bland but alright. The salt and pepper chicken with rice had too many onions in it so it just tasted very oniony and wasn't very fresh. The gaozas weren't very nice and again not very fresh.

Great atmosphere! Maggie Fu's is run really efficiently which means short wait times and lovely food. We did get charged for double prawn crackers, but very quickly resolved by staff when I raised.

Fancied some Asian food and popped in here. The atmosphere was electric and it was very busy for a Monday. The food was very tasty. Loved the pepper salted dumpling starter.

It was ok. I was recommended salt and pepper chicken with rice and it was very dry, no sauce at all and not the best. My friend had chicken ramen and it tasted bland, watery. We mentioned this to the waitress and she got upset with this and shouted a little. Won’t be coming here again

Ordered on Uber eats 2x salt and pepper chicken and fried rice bowls, noodle beansprouts and onions and BBQ sauce. The chicken was a nice texture bit didn't have any salt and pepper seasoning atall on it just a couple of onions. Rice was starchy AF. Noodles were disgusting. Worst takeaway I've ever had in my life if I've got to say. Overpriced £30 to eat a couple pieces of flavourless chicken. Was going to get more but glad I didn't. 1*

Had the big bowl tofu in spicy sauce. Was just chewy tofu in very sweet syrup. Was recommended highly by my colleague. Disappointed.

Staff were great. Food was much too salty. Way too much soy sauce used on mine fried rice. Bottom 1/4 of my meal was inedible as it was more like soup than fried rice.

First time to Liverpool and, by chance, stumbled on this restaurant. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated but comfy seats indoors whilst you wait. Starters, we ordered the chicken skewers, which were really dry and overcooked - one of the two reasons we gave food a 4. Pork and chicken buns were awesome. Mains we had the 3 meat and it was so delicious, only downside was the rice was drenched in soya sauce making it a bit on the salty side, had we known they served it with soya sauce we would have asked for the sauce on the side. Nonetheless, it was tasty. We ordered 2 servings of pok choi, which was really tasty and well prepared, crunchy and delicious 😋 . Food as we said 4/5.... staff were amazing and attentive, really lovely. The atmosphere was epic....definitely recommend if you are around the area.....

I recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a great bowl of noodles fast, casually, and reasonably priced. The shop was PACKED on the saturday I was there and it was very loud. You order at the entrance and pay directly, then your food is brought to your table. Therefore, I would NOT recommend it to anyone looking for a nice atmosphere, especially for something like a date. That being said, I don't mind these things most of the time and I appreciate a meal that's quick, cheap and tasty and it sure was all of that. So, for what the restaurant aims at, it deserves 5 stars.

Ordered on uber eats as heard it was quality. Unfortunately not for me I Ordered salt and pepper chicken with soft noodles and salt and pepper spare ribs all pretty plain and nothing special the ribs were dry and tasteless and chicken a bit soggy probably due to the packaging. I won't order again not for me 100% overated

Essen hat ganz gut geschmeckt, Gemüse war frisch, gut gewürzt, Portionen reichlich. Ambiente innen mehr wie ein fastfood Lokal. Haben bei einem Regenschauer Unterschlupf gesucht und was gegessen. War ganz ok. Preislich für Liverpool auch ok. Bedienungen wie immer auch sehr freundlich.

Shame that the staff are lovely when they visit other venues. Was greated swiftly, acknowledged by the supervisor and was told to wait twenty minutes for a table Asked our server for a VEGAN and VEGETARIAN menu as me and my partner are both vegtarians and I myself have an intolerance to meat, including fish. On the vegan menu, there was an option for Kimchi, while yes, traditionally fermented with OYSTER sauce, the menu did not state this. Within five minutes of eating my food, I have the symptoms that I have consumed something I have an intolerance to. I was not prompted to state my allergies when ordering, but instead dismissed. When I questioned the staff on what is used to ferment the kimchi, they had to ask the kitchen, which immediately came back with the answer of "Yes, its fish sauce." I was told the manager on shift would ring me, to which they did Was quite literally told to "Just read it next time, it doesnt have v or ve next to it" Staff are poorly trained on allergans as a whole

Ordered food via Uber Eats and got sent the wrong food, when called told there was nothing they could do, yet it was their fault.....poor all round.

1st time to this restaurant and wow what a fab experience, Great service the staff couldn’t helps enough, they explained everything and helped as I was dinning with Kids. They checked in regularly even though they were short staffed not that we could tell!! The food was exceptional, fresh colourful and tasty!! Would def recommend this place

Amazing food, I had a veggie pad thai and ir was really good, lots of other vegan options on the menu too. Lovely atmosphere, only issue was service was really slow but it was the weekend so this is understandable.

Amazing food big portions size am a big eater and it defeated me. We managed to get a table without booking on Friday lunch time but time had finished place was full so recamend booking if your going in the evening. We will going again!

As a wheelchair user I loved this restaurant!! I was taken to a table without fuss and accommodated excellent. The tables are the easiest I've ever seen to get under for an electric wheelchair which meant I could actually get under the table comfortably and actually eat from the table as opposed to having the meal on my lap. The staff didn't fuss or make me feel uncomfortable, they were friendly and helpful and I cannot thank them enough. The food is amazing, filling and extremely tasty. I would definitely recommend the prawn toast and ramen noodles. Thank you for a great experience, I will be back xxxx

The food was very good (and I would highly recommend a takeaway from here) but the service inside the restaurant was about as bad as service can get in a restaurant. 5 of us were squeezed onto a table meant for 4 and then food and drinks orders were not correct. One of our group ordered a drink that never came, when they complained about it to staff the staff member printed off a receipt and came over to tell us that we hadn’t payed for the drink and that’s why it hadn’t been delivered. The drink was in fact on the receipt and when we questioned the staff member again they apologised and proceeded to bring out the wrong drink! Overall the service did not match the quality of the food at all. We payed a 10% tip at the bar when we ordered our food at the start and at the end of the meal that did not feel like money well spent.
