I think it's a popular place where you can eat good quantities for not very expensive, but the quality is not the best unfortunately. The honey and sesame chicken was bathed in a sweet sauce like an industrial syrup, which was a shame... Maybe the rest is better. However, the service was great and the lady had a lovely welcome! Very clean kitchen and premises.

Good value I enjoyed the tofu Curry and chips got a ree can of Dr pepper tofu could be crispy but other than that definitely be back to try salt and pepper chips. Good for 8 pounds.

We bought because the comments were very positive, but they are completely false. We ordered Fish & Chips, rice and noodles. Fish & chips very greasy, very poorly coated and made in overused oil with bad taste. Rice and noodles poorly cooked and tasteless. Noodles are burnt. What a bad experience! CARE!!! Tried the fish and chips. Were very delicious both the fish and the chips, with affordable price, definitely I will comeback to this place

Review for Salt & Vinegar Chippy (as you seem to suggest the negative comments might not be for you?) TLDR: Pro: The food is usually very good Con: Poor service / long waits / missing items / egg shell in food Conclusion: Seems like a great place that has got too busy, worth a try on quiet nights though. Longer version: Ordered a few times over the last month. First order was lovely, second order was "ok" and missing the sauce for the prawn toast, third order the sauce was put in with the prawn toast (pics) not great but not a deal breaker, however there was large pieces of egg shell in a meal (pics) which is where I draw the line. I took it back and got a refund (had to drive back across the city). We tried Andy's fish and chips instead this week, which was lovely. S+V chippy seems like a nice place that has got popular and they struggle when it's busy. I'm sure they will sort things with some time.

The food here is fantastic, we travel from Knotty Ash just to come here cos there's no better inbetween. I think we have tried everything on the menu by now but the Beijing Beef and 3 meat fried rice are my favourite. You have got to try this place.

Disappointing used to be one of our favourites and was absolutely gorgeous even got it the other night and was lovely untill tonight freezing cold chips chicken fried rice that was tasteless and a microwaved firm pie and not even sure what I was given instead of the salt and pepper chips I'd ordered ? Cold and covered in some greasy red liquid no smell no salt and pepper veg deffo were not salt and pepper chips at all soo disappointed money wasted and had to order from elsewhere wont be back .

Immaculate inside lovely staff. Food is absolutely unreal been going here since it opened. I should of wrote a review before it's the best chippy in the city and I've been alot over the years.

Can't say anything bad about this chippy. Joe is sound, and the food is excellent quality. Defo worth a little drive.

Been a regular customer at Salt & Vinegar Chippy for 4 years now and I've never had a bad experience. The owner, Joe, is welcoming and always up for a chat. Today I had crispy chilli beef and honey sesame chicken with noodles and egg fried rice. The crispy chilli sauce was very flavourful and the chicken was tender. I would highly recommend!

Very clean and hygienically sound. Very well presented staff who were very cheerful and friendly. The food was of superb quality, and great value for money too. Would highly recommend to anyone, an absolute gem 💎

Visited this chippy after seeing all of the good reviews and can see why it’s got them. The man who served me was incredibly cheerful and friendly and could clearly tell that he cared about preparing the food nicely. Glad to say that the food matched up to the customer service! My fish, chips and spring rolls all tasted quality and were in good portion sizes. Will be back again!

This is the best fish and chip shop ever, the food is so tasty and fresh and the owner is absolutely lovely. It does not feel greasy or processed, I ordered vermicelli noodles with chicken and they were absolutely beautiful. They came with really fresh soft chicken and everything on their menu tastes amazing. Such a kind owner and lovely business to support 10/10!

The salt and pepper fish and chips absolutely slaps. The gaff looks clean and the bossman is very friendly. Caveat: the only fish+chips I have had since moving to Liverpool, however I am not a stranger to the cuisine. Since finding this place I have little incentive to go anywhere else.

This is just amazing… I found this shop when I was on a bus ride and this is almost the first time i am leaving a review. 💥💥FOOD BUSSIN💥💥💥 Fish and chips+vinegar was soooooo good. I think i might be the only one who had wonton soup but I can say that it is soo good as well. No bad smell, chips crisp, amazing amout of food and this is a blessing cuz it tastes good. The guy is kind and helpful. The shop is clean, tidy. Some vegan options exist as well! Many saauces. This shop need to be a unesco heritage

I can see why this place has a 5.0 star rating. This is the best fish and chip you will ever eat. The food was just absolutely amazing, perfect seasoning and texture. The price was so reasonable, the place was neat and tidy, the owner was so nice and warming to all the customers. It was like 30 minutes by bus, but definitely worth it. I will definitely come again. 10/10 everything just on spot. Job well done!

Salt and vinegar is the best takeaway in the area! The owner is super nice and friendly, and the food is delicious (the chips are great and the portions of rice-based dishes are very generous), and everything is ready quite fast. Since we moved to the area and discovered it wouldn't go to any other place for this type of food. Definitely recommend :)

Was able to stop there while on vacation. Amazing fish and chips…it was GIANT, well worth the price. Had a chance to watch the owner work his magic with us and several locals that stopped in that he called by name. Stop by and support if you are in Liverpool.

Takeaway place for a variety of Chinese and British foods. We had noodles and fish & chips. The food was delicious and in large portions, decent prices. Nice host.

Love this chippy! Been my local since I moved to the area a few months ago The food is always immaculate, fresh and hot and the chippy itself is always spotless I would love to shout out to the owner too, he always makes an extra effort to chat to me and my partner whenever we go in and always leaves us smiling and feeling very welcoming. He works very hard and honestly he’s such a good man! Great chippy, will be back soon for our weekly meals 😋

Been here number of times not been disappointed, chips are always freshly cooked (no warm ups here )food is lovely, owner is friendly and I noticed he sanitised his hands after doing each order or if he touched something it's super clean ,you can pay by cash or card ,phone orders taken for pick up.

Very well priced, chips and sausage I had was absolutely perfect and the curry sauce and gravy was flawless, brilliant customer service!

Only went for chips and curry sauce and it was really nice. The curry sauce was little spicy but the chips were fresh and crispy. The place was really clean. They only take cash.

This place is spotless, and serves amazing fresh food! The owner is friendly and chatty, it was great to talk with him as we waited for our order. Amazing takeaway for an amazing price. We even had leftovers for the next day!
