This is a really cosy place, would be lovely for a date. Popped in while travelling for work and was so well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, and the food was amazing.

He visitado este restaurante con un grupo de amigos y yo nunca había probado Sushi antes, así que estaba un poco preocupado sobre si me gusta. Yo también estaba indeciso acerca de lo que entonces estaba muy contento cuando el personal era súper servicial explicando los diferentes tipos de platos y cómo fueron cocinados. La comida llegó muy rápidamente, se presentó muy agradable y se notaba que el pescado era fresco. Realmente disfruté de mi noche y volveremos!

Visité aquí con un amigo en una noche de la semana. Era tranquilo y la decoración oscura y perfectamente distribuido mesas para un gran lugar para una buena captura. El personal era cálido y conversador, y muy atento, sin ser de realización.Yo tenía un sushi de salmón bandeja que incluía algunos nigiri, sashimi y algunos laminados hosomaki. El pescado era fresco, que estaba muy bien presentado y cócteles preparados. Mi amigo eligió el picante sushi de salmón bandeja. Ella estaba igualmente impresionado. Compartimos un plato de gyoza vegetal y añadió un sushi roll dragon (con langostinos delicioso tempura). Todo esto y una cerveza cada vino a una completamente razonable 46 libras o así.Sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

Mi amigo estaba de visita desde Copenhague, y es una tradición que siempre nos dan sushi cuando estamos juntos. Como Putney carece de un bar de sushi, fui a google! Me encontré con varias opciones en Clapham, pero me fascinó el Maki Sushi. Hice una reserva para 8:00, pero siendo chicas chicas no llega hasta las 8. 30 (AY). El camarero/gerente/gurú de medios sociales, Nick, no podría haber sido más encantadora sobre nuestra tardanza y nos mostró a nuestra mesa, dándonos la bienvenida con una gran sonrisa. Procedimos a ponerse más de una botella de gaseosa (y una deliciosa limonada a la orden) y barbaridad de completamente comida divina. Nick era un anfitrión tan fabuloso, riéndose y charlando con nosotros, que sumó a nuestra velada. He encontrado una pequeña joya en Lavanda Hill y no puedo esperar a volver pronto. Recomiendo totalmente el Maki Sushi, no te decepcionará!

Dropped in with my son for dinner the other evening. Utterly charming place, with really nice guys running it and some of the best sushi I've eaten. Highly recommend.

Haven't been here for ages and found out it's under new management. Sushi was superb and Nick the owner was brilliant. Great to have it on the doorstep, will be back soon.

Nos hemos pasado este restaurante de sushi varias veces y finalmente decidimos ir y probar, sobre todo después de leer los comentarios que estaba bajo nueva dirección! El servicio era increíblemente atento y aunque hemos tenido sushi algunas veces se fue útil para recordar los diferentes tipos de sushi, así que podíamos pedir diferentes cosas que no habíamos probado antes. El salmón tártaro que se sirve en una taza de pepino era algo el director recomendado y fue una de las mejores cosas que probamos sabores realmente fresco y limpio, otro destacado fue el atún braseado con sésamo. Disfrutamos con un par de cervezas, comimos muy bien, volveremos y lo recomendaría sin dudarlo.

El restaurante estaba muy limpio, simple, pero bellamente decorado que hizo para una cómoda experiencia de comer sushi. El menú era simple pero tenía todo lo que buscaría en un restaurante de sushi con pescado fresca y paquetes de sushi. . . También probé la sopa de fideos udon que era muy sabroso. El servicio fue proporcionado por los nuevos propietarios que fueron muy cortés y atento, en general hizo una noche muy agradable a un precio muy razonable. . . Espero ansioso mi próxima comida informal o ligeramente más formal evento cena en este entorno íntimo!

The restaurant has been taken over by new owners in the last few weeks hence ignore the bad reviews from over 6 months ago. The food is very taste and fresh, the raw sushi meat was fantastic. Definitely recommend the tuna tartar which comes in a lemon and black pepper sauce and cucumber cups. Also incredibly tasty edamame beans! The service was incredible - our waiter went out of his way to make our evening memorable and was very knowledgeable of Japanese cuisine and made great recommendations on what to order. Will definitely be going back, especially as they are planning to give the place a refurbish in the next few months (even though it already looks great)!

This place recently opened.The food was really amazing, super fresh and they serve some 'chef specialities' which are DELICIOUS!On top of that, the service was stellar! This place is super clean and they really pay attention to their customers.I will definitely go back, the sooner the better.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Just visited the place last night and it's a wonderful delight. Lovely sushi and fresh udon and extremely friendly service. Read some of the bad reviews on the site and probably a reflection of the previous management. Would be back soon

Deliveried 30 mins late, no apologies. In the delivery bag- no chop sticks, no soya sauce, no pickled ginger, no wasabi for the sushi. Had to eat my sushi with a fork. Very nice mackerel sushi though, this sushi is the sole reason I order from here. The udon noodle soup is below average.

Food was very good. The delivery was actually about 30 minutes earlier than requested, which was not too helpful as i was feeding baby when it arrived (while I had planned to have finished that when the delivery would arrive).

Extremely poor customer service. Food was 40 minutes late as they were apparently short of drivers. The contact at the restaurant didn't seem to have much idea of what was going on. Food finally arrived to be as disappointing as the rest.

Absolutely terrible. Delivery was over an hour late despite confirming that food has already been delivered. When we called, the guy said they were short staffed and delivery guy is running late whilst the food was still sat there at their counter. The sushi was clearly not fresh after it was sitting there at the restaurant. Why accept deliveries when you can't cope with it? The guy was also not being very helpful. Definitely won't go for this again. Such rude staff and won't take responsibilities. Jokers.

Amazing food but it arrived 20 mins after the ap said it would. I'd asked for 4 sets of chopsticks but only two were delivered. Food is worth it but I was disappointed that the notes weren't read or acted on.

The food is well below average the rice was even hard. There are MUCH better sushi takeaways in the area. I don't like to leave a bad review but I genuinely begrudge having paid for the meal. Sorry.

Very disappointed, my usual sushi place (noodle express) was closed on a Tuesday so tried for the first time - won't be ordering from here again, it's OK but soooooooo expensive for what you get, spent over £30 and got a very measly portion - not wot I would expect from my usual place! Plus minimal ginger and NO WASABI or soya sauce!!! Mixed pickles was just pickled cucumber, no selection certainly no kimchi or variety at all - the only recommendation would be the seaweed salad - for a sushi place, I would hope for at least good sushi! Next time I would wait till a decent place opened!

Best place for sashimi with a twist- love the beef with twriyaki amd salmon with spicy sauce.

I chose 4 things and they made a mistake, was 4 fish sushi but 1 was duck

Limited in the range of rolls. Some of it was a bit basic but the unagi, the mackerel and the duck were good. Could do with something crunchy on the menu (like soft shell crab) to vary the textures up a bit

The portion sizes were not very good although the food was lovely.<br /><br />My biggest big bear was that I told the waitress I was gluten intolerant, asked for gluten free soya sauce bit was still brought out 2 courses covered in regularly soya sauce which contains gluten

Exceptional food! By far one of the best take always I've ever had!! Healthy and so delicious!! That's me ordering maki sushi every day :)

The place is has really bad service. It took the place more than one and half hour to deliver the food and when I called them to ask where is my food the guy who answered the phone says ... It's late what do you want me do. Do not order from this place.

We went here for dinner and left very disappointed and hungry. The place is very small and seems more like a takeaway seating area than a restaurant. When we tried to order, the waiter informed us that they didn't have any drinks except sake and beer. We ended up just getting a snack instead of dinner as this wasn't the experience we had been hoping for. The food was ok, but it all tasted the same. Whilst we were there, the waiter spent 95% of the time on the phone taking orders and dealing with Deliveroo drivers. We tried to get the bill for 10 mins, but the waiter was too busy and ended up just guessing the bill and leaving cash. I wouldn't recommend eating here - just get a takeaway and you'll probably get better service and have a better experience!

This is a lovely place. Only 8 tables so very small, but next time I have a party of 20 people, this is where I would want to go.

Had a lovely catch up after work here with a girlfriend, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. The sushi was delicious which we enjoyed over a bottle of wine, we used the taste card so the value was fantastic. Highly recommend. The California rolls were yummy.

Should be some soy sauce more, but the food is very good! One the best sushi take away I tried!

Normally it is excellent quality. However today both the salad and rice (normally warm and are supposed to be warm) were stone cold and there was no sauce included. Which was strange since the order only took 50 minutes.

Had delicious sushi and wine there on new years eve with friends. Such a lovely little restaurant. Very comfortable. Service was perfect. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. Filling our water through the evening and offering us more wine. Such a relaxed evening. Food wasn't rushed. Waiter wasn't in any panic to clear our plates while we were still eating. Had a brilliant evening.

Great food- really fresh and delicious. My only issue was I asked for it to be delivered at 10:15pm as I was coming from work- I met the delivery man at the front door at 10 to 10 instead. If I had been any later I wouldn't of had dinner!! Would still order from here again!

Nicely done out but the seats were cold and hard. The food was delicious particularly the salmon platter. I think this is a place for quick eating or takeaways. When I realised the only hot food was noodles, I was a it disappointed but in the end, we didn&#039;t care because the sushi was delicious.

The staff members looked worried and panicked when we arrived and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The waitress was VERY slow to take the order (we had to ask her to come over!) and the food came out very slowly. No chop sticks were given to us and my soup came with no spoon (we were given a very large serving spoon when I asked for a spoon!!). I have to say, I understand that the place was mainly based on take-away and the poor girl serving at the front was over worked and seemed like she didn&#039;t have the support of any other staff member. She was doing everything on her own. So think the management of this place need to work on getting support for their staff. During our meal, one of the delivery men came in a shouted at the poor girl in front of us! Very unprofessional. Anyways, basically, GREAT FOOD, but poor customer service experience! So if you want food from here, get a takeaway!! Also, I was with friends that felt sorry for the girl serving us, so we paid the 10% service charge, but honestly, if they are going to be so rubbish with their service then take the service charge off.

If you like sushi that is fresh and flavoured, this is not for you. If you like mayonnaise and lots of rice then you have struck gold. Firstly, the staff are great and friendly but that seems to be the only plus. The food was mediocre at best with the rolls full of rice and vegetables (lots of Mayo too) and not much sushi. Suggest you save money and go to one of the other sushi establishments that are nearby.

Placed an order, received a confirmation email that the order had been accepted, called them after an hour to find that they "couldn't find the order on the system, but would I like to re-order?". I think not

I had booked a table there for Friday night, however when we got there the restaurant smelt awful. Like bad fish, which for a sushi restaurant is truly worrying! I hesitantly chose a table, but it was swarmed by small fruit flies, upon closer inspection they were coming out of the soy sauce pot that was on the table. The flies coupled with the smell was too much so we chose another restaurant to dine in. Also, the menu is VERY different to the one on their website so there is no point doing any research before you go!

Location-wise this was a pleasant walk from Clapham Common station. When I booked it online one of the booking time options was 5:30 although it doesn&#039;t actually open until 6:00. <br /><br />It&#039;s a very dark space with interesting window paintings - very Japanese in it&#039;s style but slightly shabby. But clean and comfortable. <br /><br />The waitress seemed confused about my booking and even though I could see my name in the book and tried pointing it out she seated us at a table that didn&#039;t have a reserved sign. There was another table, for four, with a reserved sign, which I assume was meant to be ours. <br /><br />The food came out piece meal but that was fine. It was sort of a regular parade of loveliness. Standard sushi rolls like salmon with avocado were very nice and nothing over the top - but the seared chili beef and the Tuna and Salmon cucumber cups were both delightful to look at, unique and absolutely delicious! <br /><br />I&#039;d say the food is definitely worth the mid-range price although the atmosphere and staff left something to be desired.

I couldn't eat the avocado as it was very hard and yellow... Everything I ordered was made with avocado so I was left with nothing to eat.... I don't understand how you can serve food like this to customers, very disappointing.

Stumbled across this sushi place near where we live. Food was good, better than we expected. It was quiet which was a slight shame but a wlecome addition to our local eateries list.

Really nice fresh food. Would prefer more donburi rice plate options, this place is more sushi and some soup udon bowls. The green tea wasn't really ready and watery so should have been warned about that, as it needed to sit and brew. Chef is Brazilian (where there are large Japanese communities). Worth going as a family if your children are adventurous eaters.Service was attentive but more recommendations on appropriate selections would have been welcome.

Liked the look and feel of the decor, but the music was all wrong. Most of our food was good bar the tuna sashimi which was an odd fluorescent pink and even odder texture; a shame really as the seared tuna and tuna in the rolls was lovely. We were there in a Friday evening and there were very few other diners. The service was ok but items were forgotten and the bill came without us asking for it.

Fine dining at your doorstep for delivery lovers. Had dinner couple of times at Maki Sushi and both times were great. Fine dining at great prices! Highly recommended to dine in or take away. Salmon tartar definitely a signature dish.

We love sushi and were looking forward to a nice dinner out. Maki-sushi was dissapoonting on many levels, the staff were cold and service was non-existent. The ambience wasn&#039;t great either.<br /><br />The menu was very limited, also the sushi didn&#039;t seem to be freshly prepared, as we asked for tempura prawns and at first we were told they had them and then we were told we could only have them in a roll.... So the tempura was definitely pre-cooked. For the price of the food we expected fresh, well made sushi.<br /><br />We won&#039;t be going back.

I quite often go to Maki for supper with my boyfriend when we feel like treating ourselves and going out for something healthy. I think the take away business is busier than the restaurant but that is an added bonus as we can always get a table and are looked after well. Hugely recommend the salmon tartar which comes in cucumber cups, the chirashi is also fantastic is it is great value and delicious. Maki is not somewhere to go for a party atmosphere but if you'd like a low key healthy dinner id definitely recommend it.

This restaurant is very well decorated and set out. Atmosphere is perfect for a date in the evening or a business lunch. We went on a quiet night with only one person working on the floor and therefore the service suffered(had to ask for more water twice ect) food came out in good time and tasted very nice however it wasn&#039;t quite interesting enough to justify the price tag

I am a regular customer of the delivery service of this restaurant for lunch. I never had any problem with them until I've had a mistake on my delivery. I called them to explain I didn't receive what I expected and a new meal was on its way. The owner of the restaurant came himself to my office with a very disrespectful attitude towards me and my colleagues. He blamed me for not using their website properly instead of simply apologizing for the error. I really struggled communicating with him and explaining the situation!!! When he left I finally opened the new meal..which is still WRONG?! I called them again to try to get what I have ordered and the lady told me they wouldn't prepare another soup for me. (yes it was JUST a soup...)I feel really upset to pay for something and not getting what I wanted!

High quality, high speed. Loving it. Granted I live less than a half mile away, but this is my neighborhood joint. Nice guys. Sashimi combo always fresh. Not a vein in the tuna, always a good cut. Rolls are solid as well, not Nobu blowing you away but fresh. Sometimes you get a little avocado that's not quite ripe, but I think that's a function of them doing a lot of business. They give you real ginger not the packaged stuff.
