Maisha Spice in Leeds

10/10 restaurant. Had a chicken tikka masala when I first went and it was delicious. Had to go again and tried another curry which was also amazing, would recommend to everyone as they have a wide variety of curries.

First time visited Maisha Spice after a recommendation by friends I must say it was out of the world. Keep of the good work

Good Indian food with really kind, friendly and attentive service. The staff really make it an enjoyable experience and great to be able to have a drink in the pub before or after.

First time visit to the village and my friend had organised a meal here for us. Conveniently attached to the pub we were in, we were quickly seated and attended to. My fish pakora was cooked to perfection and piping hot. Portion size was spot on for a starter. I was pleased to see unconventional dishes you don't see on most menus so went for the Darjeeling Chicken. This was less spicy than I was hoping and very, very creamy. Still, it was cooked and presented very well and enjoyed by me. Prices were in line with expectations and we were looked after by the attentive staff. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Used to like it here, the food was always great. However there have been several times when we have been here when inappropriate comments were made and I feel the need to share how we were treated by the manager. We frequented this restaurant regularly, sometimes we would order two curries each but other times we would share if we weren’t overly hungry, comments were made about us only ordering one curry several times but on the last visit I ordered a starter to eat when my husband ate his curry. The manager slammed the starter on the table saying yours will be out soon. The curry that came was watery and not the same as usual, we noticed the staff and manager laughing about something, we felt like something was wrong with the curry and they were laughing about it. Afterwards a dessert menu was put on the table then the manager said is he not buying you a dessert which we can only conclude was done to give a subliminal message that we hadn’t spent enough. We left after waiting for our change for ages. Felt like we had been treated badly and will not return, shame they treat their customers like this. I am not going to be disrespected

Delicious food - well presented and extremely good, quality and quantity wise! This restaurant has an extensive menu with lots to choose from. The venue is intimate, relaxing and cosy. I can highly recommend this charming little restaurant.

Well high, (from the trip advisor reviews) hopes turned to mild mediocrity. Our elected Maharaja (curry club organiser) for the evening, having been asked to pay a deposit for a table of 8 we arrived with 6 persons was informed that this would result in us losing said deposit. After a small but firm exchange of opinions "that this wasn't acceptable" given the restruaunt was empty save 1 other table of 2 the waiter/manager agreed the deposit wouldn't be lost. and proceeded to serve us. The "papadoms" (not sure why they spell it this way on the menu) arrived nice and hot... but with a very disappointing pickle tray of raitia, chopped onion with a bit of coriander leaf and some very runny "mango chutney" these were polished off with aplomb. After a relatively long wait between arriving and "papadoms" mastication, we were offered another drink... most of us elected for 660ml bottle of Cobra which were very chilled. Starters arrived these were very good for most although some commented the Tandoori "meat" chops were chewy and lacking in spice. I had the chicken chat, and this flavour was good. Moving on to mains these arrived quickly after the starters they were all present and correct and the correct sides arrived promptly as well. I had the Lamb Kahari which was medium-ish probably a bit lacking in spice and flavour but in no way offensive potion size was ok, the lamb was probably mutton as it took a bit of chewing. The keema rice and chaptis were hot, as were the "team" chips. once of my fellow diners commented that the tarka dahl was a bit soupy, but i can't stand that stuff so i wouldn't like to say. Most of our party cleared their plates and the overall experience was a solid 3 out of 5 with the discussions about deposits dominating the lasting impression. I would eat here again but definitely better curry houses around! Not sure if the rest of the Trip Advisor reviewers of this this place, have ever eaten curry any where else which is why there reviews are so generous, maybe this was an off night in January, either way, if they ask for a deposit when booking make sure you agree the terms in advance!!! Overall for a curry house hidden in the back room of a dark village pub, it wasn't bad but certainly not out of this world!

Decided on the Onion Bhaji’s to start, perfect and crisp. Main-course tasty fresh and had so much flavour, just right. We were attended to by lovely waiters, very good service tonight. Thank you

Lovely family run business. Beautiful clean food. The curries are fresh and homemade. From someone who has been eating curries from the womb- this place really delivers an authentic homemade curry. Definitely not your usual 'frozen curry, jar of sauce' place - try for yourself as you will not be disappointed. They have meat delivery everyday. The oil they use is cleaner than mine at home, you can tell that with a portion of chips. Even my son who isn't big on curries- loves Maisha's curries. We enjoy the drive down. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The manager is a very good man. They go above and beyond, and it's always a warm, personal service. It'll always be our go to restaurant when you want some decent clean Beautiful food 😋 😌

We had a delivery tonight, we went through link on facebook page rather than just eat and saved a few quid. I must say it was spot on, delivered on time and hot. All was very nice, I think my lamb shank was the star of the show. I'm not usually a delivery food fan but this was very nice.

Friday 14/07/23 👍👍 Passing through the local area and this was our closest restaurant. Arriving through the doors we were greeted with and told that our ready would be ready within minutes. They fitted us in (A group of 5) on a Friday night at 9PM even though the place was bustling. Would advise booking on weekends to avoid being turned away. We began with poppadoms and pickles which went down well. For main-course, I settled for the Chicken Karahi - a true winner in my eyes, really good and full of wonderful flavours. The very polite was happy to recommend and explained that the dishes could be cooked from mild to an even madras strength curry. The rest of the lads stated that they were equally happy with their main courses too. Also, good variety of options for vegans and vegetarians available too. At no point did we feel rushed, everything was served in good time, even though we were late comers. Even whilst we were leaving, the touch of opening up the door goes a long way, so left feeling full and very satisfied. We are more than happy to make the trip from Garforth after discovering our new destination curry house. These guys have earned my custom. A big thank-you to the guys at Maisha. They have made us wanting to come back for more and more. Wishing you all the success and see you all again very soon.

Went here as my parents in law have moved to Thorner, the food was lovely, service fast and friendly, it was very quiet but that's not an issue. The only downside is the entrance through the pub, felt very 'local' and that everyone was staring as you came through, be nice to see an entrance seperate to the pub bit.

Went here for a change as we had seen the reviews. Good choice of food. Portions are a good size for both the starters and mains and are flavoursome. Good service and staff attentive.

Served raw fish (that should have been cooked) and no compensation given, except for me to eat my starter when others had finished theirs. Lovely food. Very good service. The lamb Tikka and Chicken Tikka are both incredibly tender and the Naan breads are superbly soft and fluffy. Highly recommend.

We are fortunate to live close by, so regularly enjoy weekend delivery meals. We have tried many restaurants in the past and are delighted that we have found Maisha Spice, a true gem. Starters are varied and plentiful, onion bhajis are crispy onion delights, not stodgy balls of gram flour. Mushroom pakoras explode with juicy fresh flavours. Mains are good sized portions, brimming with protein - the curry, bhuna and tikka masala are so tempting it is hard to choose what to eat. The staff are very friendly and are keen to ensure satisfaction. I heartily recommend Maisha Spice..

Fantastic food and service. The mixed starter had plenty of lamb and chicken as well as a bhaji. The pickle tray was fresh and a nice side to the starters. Main course curries were flavoursome and there probably too much food with 2 rice and a nan bread. Highly recommended

Don't know why we left it so long, but were delighted to be remembered after almost a year. Food first class, with excellent service throughout. Every dish was well presented , including one that we requested that was not on the menu.

Answered phone straight away. Tried due to great Google reviews and didn't disapoint, had chicken pakora which was best I've eaten in Leeds, tried chef's specials, lamb with okra , amazing ,lamb melted in the mouth, very fragrant herbs & spices, other chef special with lamb,chicken and prawn, also excellent. Lemon rice & vegetable rice, lovely mix of fresh vegetables in the rice, which was fabulous. Attentive staff, plentiful portions, you can see its good clean quality food. Will be back.

We use the restaurant a lot and echo the views in other reviews. I recently engaged chuton and the team for an outside catering event for 35 people. The whole experience was simple professional and exactly what I needed. We had 3 curries with starters and sides for a really good price. It was delivered on time and kept fresh and warm in catering trays provided by them. While there was plenty of food people kept going back and by the end of the night it had all gone. Feedback was universally glowing about the quality of the food. Looking forward to next time.

Just like to say a big thank you to maisha spice for delivering my takeaway this evening, I was only ordering for myself and I live a fair distance away, I have picked my food up before but couldn't do it this time, didn't think that they would be able to do the delivery, small order, fair distance away, I was wrong, took my order, delivered quickly, food was delicious, thanks again much appreciated.

I rate the food enough for this to be a 'destination' curry house. The food is so well cooked, not a single let down main/side dish/starter. This is a family run business and the service is friendly, welcoming and efficient. The decor is basic and it is difficult to get a taxi home (but so worth the drive). We went with four, young children and they were made to feel very welcome too.

Lovely staff, cosy atmosphere, delicious food, my own bug bear would be that the amount of chicken or paneer etc in the main curry dishes was on the small side hence 4 stars instead of 5. I'd definately go back, a great little place to eat.
