Overpriced for the amount of food you get and not the best customer service. I wanted to make a phone order for collection. I was asked could I make a card payment over the call, i said I only have cash. I was then told that I’d have to come down to the shop and order over the counter and wait instead. Weird people

I have been here twice and both times WOW. I don’t even think I can find the words to describe. It’s the best food I have ever eaten and I am an avid cook myself, I know about seasoning and this food is just cooked to perfection and seasoned to perfection! I also love the lady who is front of house I think she is the owner, she has such a beautiful relaxed vibe about her which makes you feel relaxed and a very pure energy about her. Me and my boyfriend came in very late, about 15 minutes till closing time and she was still willing to sit us down and stay open later to feed us haha, we was starving so we was very grateful and wow it was a feast what we had! The drinks are amazing in there, taste so beautiful with the best rum and if I could eat here every day I would. I never feel heavy or horrible after I eat here either which is important to me, I still feel good which means good quality ingredients are used. I want to add too, that my I miss my nan every day and I was feeling very emotional and missing her an extra lot at that last time I came in when she still took our order even though it was so late, and the man who sings my nans favourite song John Holt played just before we got our food. I took it as a sign. Thank you so much for your hospitality and the beautiful food. Best jerk chicken and ackee and salt fish I have ever had! The chips are even amazing! 10/10 service, 10/10 atmosphere, 10/10 food. From start to finish we had such a lovely experience. We had a table of 10 and the staff were very friendly and attentive to our table. We loved the fact that it was a very cosy, intimate place. We was made to feel welcome as soon as we came through the doors. The COCKTAILS omg!! The rum punch was my favourite, so good that I didn’t want to try any others! When the food came out the whole table had good words for the chef. Everything they brought out was amazing, tasted very traditional.

Lovely spot and a proper feel of the Caribbean. The food and cocktails are top class. Staff are friendly and easy to chat with. Looking forward to the next visit already :)

This place is unreal! The music, the ambience, the service, the decor and THE FOOD🤤 oh my days the food… I have almost had everything on the menu and not one single dish has disappointed! The owners are so welcoming and you feel right at home there! The restaurant has a lovely family vibe to it and I already can’t wait for my next visit! Poor pics as I was too eager to tuck in😂

Firs time to Mahoe Blue heard great things and they didn't disappoint. Very friendly upon arrival, clean and tidy restaurant. Menu was suitable for anyone. The food that was ordered was jerk chicken, rice and peas and festivals. The portion is very generous and tasted fantastic. It was worth every penny. If you like Jamaican food or food with alot of flavour and variety please go and try them out you will be glad you did. Mahoe Blue is excellent and I will going again and again. Thank you

My dad had been trying to call the restaurant to book a table for 7 of us, but wasn’t able to because nobody answered the phone. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told we needed to book. When my dad told the owner he’d been trying to call to book, her response was “I’ve had the phone all day” so my dad then showed her his call log, showing the calls made to the restaurant. We then stood awkwardly for a few minutes before some tables were pushed together to accommodate us. Once we’d sat down, we got the feeling we’d caused a problem and didn’t feel very welcomed. Given we visited as a family of 7, our expectation was for the restaurant to be happy about this as it’s more money earned. Not once did the lady who served us smile at us, in fact she only spoke when taking our order and this was because she had to. She told us the food would take 30-40 minutes because there were a lot of us. However, the food was brought out to us an hour after we’d ordered. A couple of people on the table ordered coleslaw, which was brought out to the table around 15 minutes after the mains were served - By this point one person didn’t want theirs anymore as they’d near enough finished their meal. As well as this, the portion was tiny and the coleslaw didn’t taste homemade as the menu says. No acknowledgment was made for the hour wait for our food, despite being told 30-40 minutes and no one came over during our meal to ask how the food was or anything. On top of this, there’s very minimal choice if you’re fully vegetarian and don’t eat fish. The only thing I will say is that when the owner took over serving our table, she was friendly and actually spoke to us, unlike the lady who initially served us. Food was alright but the service has put me off visiting again.

We were really looking forward to trying this place. My dad had been calling to book a table in advance but no1 was answering the phone so we decided to go in. When we arrived the staff seemed annoyed that there were 7 of us & made a big deal about pushing tables together & said that they were worried about other customers (we were the only ones in there at this point). There are 2 members of staff, one serving & one cooking. The young girl needs to brush up on her social skills, maybe some customer service training would help? Anyway, that kind of set the tone from there & we felt uncomfortable but still thought we would give the food a try.. Whilst we were there 3 tables of couples came to eat in. The young girl who was waiting on didn't seem like she wanted to be there tbh & came across quite rude. We were told our meals would be 30-40mins, we waited an hour before anything came out. There was no acknowlegment or apologies for the delays. The menu is only small, one A5 sheet & another with sides on not many options. I got the Ackee & Saltfish with rice & a side of coleslaw (which was shop bought & didn'tcome out until my meal was almost gone). The Ackee & saltfish was nice, a little sweet but cooked well. Honestly, don’t bother - just terrible. It took them an hour to bring our drinks and after two hours we still didn’t got any food so we left. It was utterly ridiculous.
