Mahek in Broxbourne

I ordered food at 18:40 and was told it would arrive within an hour. It’s now 20:40, and not only has the food still not arrived, but I’ve also made 84 calls trying to reach the restaurant, all of which have been either diverted or ignored. This level of service is absolutely disgraceful. It’s unacceptable for a business to treat its customers this way, especially on a special occasion like Valentine’s Day. There was no communication, no updates, and no effort to address the delay. I understand that busy times can cause setbacks, but completely ignoring customers is inexcusable. This experience has completely ruined our evening, and I would strongly advise anyone considering ordering from here to think twice. Poor service, zero accountability, and a total lack of professionalism. Avoid at all costs!

Had the worst experience ordering so much food from this place.. I mean they should atleast mention that the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala has sugar in it.. who on earth makes chicken tikka sweet?? I couldn't take another bite of it.. thank goodness we didn't serve it at a time we had guests over.. I mean nobody in India makes food like this.. its written indian and inside they're making it like bengali food.. you should ATLEAST MENTION that the CHIEKN TIKKA MASALA is going to be a dessert full of sugar and not salt.. or were your chefs crazy to out sugar instead of salt.. really spoiled the whole day. Awful experience!!!

This was one Ma-heck of an experience. The portions was small and in the case of the paneer and lamb tikka dishes, I thought I was being pranked. £90 for two people without alcohol is overly pricey, plus we left hungry.

These people are are joke. After over an hour and a half waiting for the order to be delivered I contacted them and the guy over the phone said we are really busy the kitchen is finishing up your order, should be with you in the next 20 minutes. When I questioned if he thought two hours was normal for a takeaway to be deliverd in over two hours he then said to me," if you don't want it I can cancel it" after waiting for over an hour and a half thats what the inconsiderate human being on the phone said to me. It's an absolute disgrace. The order then arrives five minutes after I ended the call. What a disgusting lier.

Really tasty food, have ordered twice now and received top quality food everytime. Delivery was quick. Driver Ali was professional and kind.. overall a great service from Mahek !

Incredible. Best Indian takeaway I have ever had. We will not be ordering from anywhere else again - the family agrees that this is the best around, everything was absolutely stunning. I had the mixed tandoori and every mouthful was tender, divine. The coconut rice was very, very flavourful and the food had a wonderful, almost homecooked quality. Sensational.

We travel here from Hertford for the amazing food the must try is the Mahek special which is full of flavour the food tastes fresh always and is not oily like some restaurants

Bought a Tikka Jalfrezi recently here and thought it was pretty poor. These are also too expensive. A Tikka Jalfrezi and Veg rice was near £17? The food is poor and over priced. I will NOT buy again...

Sunday buffet - greeted by Mr P amazing service. My partner is coeliac and this was no trouble at all. Fresh chicken cooked for him. Children enjoyed themselves. No rush and plenty of food to choose from. Highly recommend

Mahek offers a delightful Indian dining experience with a cozy atmosphere. The banqueting deal was amazing and very affordable. What made the experience even better was our server, Mr. P, he was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations.

Ordered from Mahek before and the food has always veen good. Today the nan was burnt on one side which was disappointing and I was surprised it was sent out. Having said that, the rest was good as usual.

We went with family and were very disappointed with the food. The portions were a let down and had hardly any meat. Not generous at all. Definitely room for improvement. Service was okay. Staff were friendly however we got the wrong order. The place was very empty at the time we went.

A must try. I am addicted to the clay tandoori oven. You have to try the lamb chops, tandoori king prawns and handmade sheek kebab. Will be visiting again soon.

We ordered a large takeaway order and they were ace! The food was great, with decent portions and delivered quickly. Mr P even helped to organise vegan meals for 2 of our party! 100% recommend!

Normally really enjoy the food from Mahek. Order arrived 25 minutes early. Luckily my wife was there but not all the family were home. The food was tasteless tonight, lacked all the usual flavour.

Excellent food, frshly prepared and delievered on time and with care. Only issue was a missing item (my poppadums!) but was rectified with a call to the restaurant.

The service at this restaurant was fantastic from every member of staff. The food was fresh and tasty, especially the chicken and fish sizzlers starters . The main courses were piping hot as were all the sides. I will definitely be coming back here when I come up from the south coast again.

The food had nice flavours. The lamb in the Rogan wasn’t as tender as other places I’ve eaten but the spice was perfect for me and my partner. The meat Samosa was crispy and had good amount of filling. They provided us with a small salad which was very old and seems to have been packed days ago.

Now thats how you run a restaraunt! Never ever have we received such good service and food to match like we did today! We were in the area visiting (as we live 2 hours away) and as it was my birthday I had been looking at restaraunts near by to visit before we headed home and decided on this one due to the reviews on trip advisor. We arrived as a party of 9. Straight away the staff we all so friendly even though we arrived slightly late. The food was absolutely superb, a really amazing meal. Even the sauces for the popadoms were topped up if we ran out etc (little touches go a long way!). One of the staff members Mush was so fantastic, amazing with the kids and the most genuine nice guy ever. Nothing was too much trouble at all and he went above and beyond with everything. I was very touched that he offered a free round of drinks for the table as it was my birthday. Even brought over special little cocktails for the children with biscoff biscuits on the house. A great end to a fantastic visit, he even saw us out at the door. I really hope we can return here again one day if we are in the area. Thank you to all the staff and chefs for making my birthday a great one! 10/10 you won't be disappointed.

Whenever we have an Indian meal we always choose Mahek, and it’s been that way for at least 6 years now, and never once have we had a single problem or bad meal. Last night I ordered a meal to celebrate mine and my wife’s 10th anniversary but was having trouble with how to select the free side dish offer, so I sent a message and within a minute or two had a phone from the manager/owner Mr. P personally guiding me how to make my choice, and he then gave me a courtesy call shorty after to let me know it was on its way with a congratulations on our anniversary, the food was beautiful as usual and so hot I needed gloves to take it out of the bag 🙈, thank you guys and we will be back soon 🙏🏻

New to the area and chose Mahek based on reviews. Glad I did! Just made my third order in 2 week. A wide range of food. Hot, fresh and delicious and delivered in double-quick time by Ali. Lovely guy; great food.

Went for a last minute date night with my partner and we had an amazing dinner. Food was amazing and the service was outstanding, I love when you can tell that someone truly enjoys their job and genuinely wants to make you feel as welcome as they can, and that’s exactly how we felt! Had a lovely laugh between meals with the waiter, Mosh, who really made the evening so fun. Mr.P even helped me pack up our leftovers, after I was convinced it wouldn’t fit in the bag, haha. Overall a fantastic place, will be coming back for more date nights:)

Wow, I am amazed. I had a meal at Mahek’s after coming from Manchester. The Staff was so nice and friendly, and the food I must say it is incredibly delicious! The Staff served us some oranges and chocolate after our meal and my son asked, ‘can I get 2 more chocolate please?’ and the Staff gave him all the chocolate they had. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so welcoming, beautiful and bright. I must say this restaurant is incredibly amazing!

Mosh gave us a warm welcome as the whole family trundled in. Baby Annie, Birthday boy Jamie and the gang were royally entertained and fed with some of Hertfordshire's finest Indian dishes. Try the Mahek special, served with a broad array of tender meats and with a kiss of spice - that's just right. Food came out together and perfectly served. Credit to the chefs who had been sizzling away in the full heat of summer. Just made for a perfect night, parked easily around the corner 30m away and had a great meal.

Came here to eat with my friends and we really enjoyed it! Mr P was very helpful and provided us with very attentive service. The food was amazing and great value for money! Will definitely be back

Lovely food, nice and spicy the way we like it! :) Good portion sizes and reasonably priced. The service was brilliant and Mr.P was very accomodating and even gave use a complimentry chickeb sizzler dish which was really kind. Highly reccomend this place and we will definitely be going back or getting takeway from there!

As usual the flavours were lovely however for the first time ever the lamb shish was too chewy and we didn’t eat it but that unfortunately is what lamb sometimes is

Brilliant restaurant. Very helpful staff. They helped me out of a difficult situation as I had booked somewhere else, but the restaurant manager was vile & we were left without a booking for mother's day, but Mahek were very professional & accommodated us. They had a buffet, but I am determined to return to try out their proper menu. Definitely, I would recommend the restaurant & my friend said she would like to go back there, so a big thank you to all the staff at Mahek.

What fantastic experience. Mr P really looked after us, he catered for all our requirements. The food was extremely tasty. I would recommend the getting the Mixed Grill and the Peshwari Nan Lovely restaurant with a good atmosphere.

Been going here for a year. Wonderful staff and food! We have become really great friends with Moshi and Mr P - all the staff are so lovely. Definitely recommend the Chicken or Fish sizzler. Me and my family love it! (If you staff see it - I’m one of the Lewis Families girls!)
