Minhaz and his team are always extremely welcoming,friendly and accommodating.We always have our favourite table,first class service and excellent food,nothing is too much trouble,highly recommend this restaurant and wouldn’t go anywhere else…absolutely love this place ❤️

Food was tasty but cold, maybe sort out the delivery methodology. I don’t have an issue with delivery times it’s when it shows up cold, that spoils the food quality and the experience. Business is about teamwork and the delivery is part of that

Absolutely loved the garlic chicken starter, really warm and comforting. Packed with flavour and couldn't stop eating it. The Bombay aloo lacked something that the chicken starter didn't, and it wasn't protein! Balti chicken tikka jalfrezi amazing and hot! I forgot to order mushroom PILAU rice so glad I had cheese naan to dip. Onion salad too coarsely cut but a very, very enjoyable Indian as I sit in bed recovering from illness. Thank you so much 🥳😋

Raj Patel from Wolves, had the BENGAL SPECIAL LAMB HANDI TIKKA BHUNA..woh so tasty and meat is so soft, comes with fluffy pilau rice. Reccomend. Went back next night :)

Food was fantastic! I particularly enjoyed the pistachio chicken which was completely new to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be returning. Fantastic service and excellent atmosphere.

We had a take away delivered. Ordered food for 7.45, had to ring restaurant at 8 for update and food turned up 25 minutes later so 40 mins late over all. Food was barely warm, bhuna was bland and not spicy at all and is described as medium hot. Bombay aloo was very bland and boring. Onion salad was missing, mint sauce was missing, salad for starter was missing….. but none of that would’ve bothered me until I found a piece of plastic in my naan. That’s right, a heart shaped piece of plastic INSIDE my keema naan! Bad bad bad night for Maharani.

We went to Maharani twice this week and really enjoyed our food. The staff treated us very well and the food 1st class. When we return to Ipswich we will definitely go back to Maharani for a meal. Thanking you again for two pleasant evenings.

Have ordered from here twice now and while the food is good, we have waited ages for it to be delivered and has been cold both times.

We both had the set menu, the food was excellent and the staff were lovely and friendly. We will certainly be back and would recommend!

Absolutely fantastic food, just what a Indian takeaway should be like, highly rate this along side chutneyz and that takes some beating Will be ordering from there next week for sure Prices were also reasonable too

Travelled to the area for work. Found this place due to previous good reviews. Can confirm the majority 5 stars are accurate. Poppadoms tasted fresh, curries authentic and good spice to them. If you are in the area and fancy a good curry then would recommend.

Had a really delicious meal at the Maharani with friends. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and suggested a couple of dishes we had not tried before which we really enjoyed. Would highly recommend giving the Maharani a try if you are looking for great Indian in Ipswich.

This was our first time here and the food and staff were amazing. We ended up taking a doggy bag cuz we couldn't finish it. The mix starter platter is a must. I had lamb bhuna and other half had lamb madras wth bombay aloo and of course naan breads. This place is a must and only a 9 minute walk from the travelodge. I had the opportunity to visit the esteemed Maharani restaurant on Friday evening, travelling from London to Ipswich for my driving test. I must confess that the culinary experience was truly remarkable. I had a delightful curry after a long journey. The monetary expenditure was indeed well spent.

Won’t go anywhere else, recommend the Pistachio curry for mild dish and the Prawn Dhansak or Pathia for a hotter dish but frankly they don’t make a bad fish! Sag Ponir fantastic and onion bhajis the best ever had. Perfectly crispy without the doughy centre!

Visiting Ipswich with Chelsea so we booked a table for after an evening kick off at Portman Road (we lost 😞). Great service and an excellent curry from the team at Maharani’s which topped off an eventful, beer fuelled away day. Highly recommended 👍🏼

Butter paneer (swapped instead of chicken), peshawari naan, daal, madras, korma, all amazing. Every time we come it's the same excellent quality. Our kids love it too

We came here after travelling to watch Chelsea play Ipswich. Amazing food and the guys rustled me up what I asked for even though it wasn’t on the menu. Will deffo return here when I come back to Ipswich, class food

I first ate here as a child in the 80s. When I visit my parents I still ask to come back here for the best Indian-Bangladeshi meal there is. Super friendly and welcoming staff and delicious food. My first curry was here and now my kids love it as much as I do.

Another fantastic meal. It was our first visit with the girls and they loved it too. Excellent friendly service with super advice on what to order for the girls based on their preferences. As always the food was amazing! Will definitely be back again soon

We absolutely love this Indian. The service is always fantastic. Food is incredible. We try and go weekly as we enjoy it so much. We highly recommend The Maharani it truly is a great Indian restaurant.

The prawn cocktail was off and wasnt deemed safe to consume . There wasn't generous amount in chefs special as stated what will be in it. and normally in prawn sag alot of places they use cut up king prawns here they used small prawns which was very disappointing. I ordered naan bread didn't get that. won't be ordering again from.here

The food was almost inedible , the saag poneer was burnt , the chicken bhuna didn’t have much taste and the lamb madras was hot but again , without flavour . On top of that, they sent roti instead of naan which was like rubber. Won’t be ordering again.

Won’t be using this place again. Ordered at 6.45 and the food finally arrived at 9.30 cold.

Changed my status to delivered(enjoy your food) before it had even left the restaurant. Phone at 9.06 they said my order had left and I was the only deliver on the route. 9.26 my order finally turns up.

Went with my partner on Saturday the 2 Nd of November 2024 Shouldn't have bothered too be honest, waited over an hour for our main meal, my partner asked why is it taking so long, he was spoken to rudely to say the least, by (the owners son ) saying they were very busy blah blah!! Then he made out we didn't want to pay!!!!! Will never go there again if you paid me hundreds, being spoken to that way, insulted was an understatement.

Good food the onion bhajis were a let down flat and burnt but my tikka Dan sake was delicious. Was very busy but didn't have to wait too ling for food ro arrive

Phenomenal food. Great service and if you’re ever unsure on what to order ask Frye staff as they have excellent knowledge and will find the perfect curry for you. My favourite so far is the lamb handi

Food was bland, onions were undercooked and the main courses were almost certainly reheated from a microwave. The staff were pleasant and reduced the bill- wouldn’t recommend this, although it wasn’t dangerous it wasn’t what we were looking for.

Friendly staff and a nice setting but above all superb food. This Restaurant offers dishes I have not seen before at any other Tandoori Not only that but these dishes are fantastic. I originate from West London which is packed with Tandoori Restaurants so have had many many dishes This one is up there with some of the best Try it you will not be disappointed. The person who recently posted a review about the kitchen, well it has a 5 star hygiene rating, funny that eh?

Came here based on the reviews and it lived up to its billing. Great Indian food. I had the king prawn tandoori bhuna and my wife had the chicken Tikka. Absolutely flawless. The saag paneer was the best I've ever tasted - and I've eaten a lot of Indian!! Staff were very courteous and attentive. Cannot fault this place and will certainly come back again. Bearing in mind we live 50 plus miles away

This was my first time having a takeaway from & all I can say is, it was bloody fantastic!!! The flavours were amazing & price wise, certainly value for money. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Just wanted to say they do have amazing service. I had few problems which I don’t want to explain gentlemen over the phone dealt with me so professionally and he offered me discount however due to his service I wouldn’t call up to get the discount. In my opinion the best Indian food in Ipswich. Have tried others but they just don’t compare.

You know a place is going to be good when it has 40+ years experience and this place actually still exceeded what I expected. Had a couple of courses here yesterday after work. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food tasted incredible with very generous portion sizes. Will definitely be going back, and also recommending to friends!

I love the Maharani, the staff are really friendly and the food is really reliable. We normally have take-away but really enjoyed eating in the restaurant last night.

Amazing food, very friendly staff and very welcoming, been coming here for almost 10 years and they never disappoint, would 100% recommend!

If you like special cockroach curries here’s the place. Nasty dirty kitchen, needs health dept. To shut them down. Found in curries. I can assure everyone, this is not a fake review at all. When I took the complaint direct to Miah, he’d blamed their suppliers for the roaches being in my food, you will recognise the kitchen where this conversation took place. Issue has been reported to environmental health as I’m not the only person this has happened to.

Ordered a delivery whilst staying away on business, staff and delivery driver where friendly, I have posted my receipt, poppadum's where nice and crispy, then it went downhill, chutneys where watery and tasteless, the bhaji's where flat and hard as rock, the worst was to come, I ordered a new dish I had never tasted (Bhuna Khati Gost), the mushroom rice was perfect, but the dish itself was floating in about 2mm of oil/ghee and the lamb was cubed, tough and tasted funny, it was terrible, I was also extremely ill during the night and next day, now I can't blame the meal as I have no proof, but this was the only thing I had eaten, Never Again
