Maharaji Indian Restaurant in Wiltshire

Tutis, which it’s now called after its fabulous owner, is a delightful cozy family owned Indian restaurant. Food was fresh, super tasty but not too heavy and the restaurant itself stylish and lovely and clean with a good feel! Asked for somewhere warm when I booked and we were popped by the heater, nice touch! When we left I had to give Tuti a hug because he was SUCH a nice man! We’ve found our go-to favourite Indian restaurant when we come to Bradford on Avon and will be back to see you Tuti for sure! We’d highly recommend!

We ate here on a Saturday evening. Seven friends on a long weekend canal boat holiday. This is a very welcoming place, and the staff are great - efficient and genuinely entertaining. Food was very good, we all enjoyed our curries, and were offered a drink on the house at the end which was top stuff. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.

We have just had the most amazing meal tonight . Food was the best we have ever had . The owner was so lovely. Would recommend and will definitely be visiting again .

Ordered a take away via the website at 17:05 for delivery at 19:05 on Friday 24th Feb. Food arrived on time but was cold (we live about 1.5 miles from restaurant). We had to warm everything before eating it. Tikka starter was a little tough and rather bland but OK. Curries were very watery and lacking in taste. No flavour at all of any Indian herbs or spices just mild curry heat and a rather unpleasant oily aftertaste. Rice was OK but Naan bread was dried out (before we reheated it) and tasted like it was bought from a supermarket a few days ago. Had we been presented with this food in a restaurant setting we would have sent it back but it was a take away for two costing nearly £50. Very very disappointing after the positive reviews posted recently since new ownership.

Lovely restaurant in BOA, we ordered a delicious Lamb Rezala and Chicken Madras this weekend. Great service and atmosphere we 100% recommend trying if you are in the area!

Meeting up with some mates, really nice meal, heat can be adjusted to your liking on any dish. Had a vindaloo, perfect heat for me but more like a madras heat. Would have been 5 spot rating if it was slightly cheaper so only using occasionally as a treat

Food was ok but it’s very expensive. Poppadoms, curry, rice and pint, £35!! Owner had audacity to add 10% service charge, (he’s also the waiter!) Much better places to eat in Bradford-on-Avon for much less money.

Nice enough restaurant decor-wise and a pleasant, convivial patron. The nan was pretty good. But the rest of the food was awful. I had a vegetable balti that was just a bowl of utterly tasteless, overly-sweetened brown gloop of just carrot and potato. There were absolutely no spice flavours at all. In fact, if you had blindfolded me and asked me to identify the cuisine by tasting, I would never have guessed "Indian". Our two vegetable side dishes were exactly the same. Judging by the large chunks of obviously boiled onion in the curry, the whole thing was just boiled up in a pot rather than cooked properly. Not the worst curry I have ever had - it was tasteless therefore inoffensive - but I would need to be pretty desperate to return to this place.

We moved to the area and thought we would try this restaurant and have a firm favourite! On the whole, food was good, however very greasy onion bhaji, very greasy shish kebab (mostly fat) and small portions let this place down which is a shame as the food is good and some lovely flavours! Sort these out and happy days!

The service was okay but food disappointing. Was particularly disappointed with the paneer pathia, it was a completely different sauce to that of the lamb pathia. They cooked a new one for us but it was the exact same - I don’t understand why they would taste so different. I’ve eaten a lot of pathias from many Indian restaurants and have never had this issue, it’s a shame because i’d recommend it to a friend as it’s one of my favourite curries but what she received just wasn’t a pathia. In addition, the naga chicken curry was just bland, I had to add so much salt to taste anything and the bhajis were very greasy. The lamb pathia was okay but far from the standard that I’ve had in the past for a similar price. The young lad who served us was very friendly and did what he could to help but the positives unfortunately end there.

Nice and small place. Very friendly staff. Food tasted very good. Just the right sting too it. Garlic and Peshavari nan fresh and good taste. Clean toilets.

Weren’t interested in giving me a table, and just said they were fully booked. Clearly not, and weren’t any busier later on when I walked past again. Simply didn’t consider it worthwhile putting a solo traveller on a table. Shame, but happens occasionally when places can’t be bothered. Don’t go if you’re staying in Bradford on Avon alone.

My wife and two of my sisters and I went on a Barge holiday. We picked the barge up two minutes from this gem of a restaurant. On our return we ordered a takeaway which we took back to the boat and devoured with much gusto. My Chicken Biryani was fabulous and the Keema Nan was filled with thinly sliced lamb instead of minced lamb and was even more wonderful than it may sound. Each of our meals were to be applauded, and the quality and flavour savoured. My wife and sister chatted to the welcoming owner, who expressed his passion for his restaurant. Your passion sir, is to be commended, and was recognisable in every mouthful. Thank you.

During a visit to Bradford on Avon for a few days walking some of the spokes of the BoA walking wheel my partner and I enjoyed a delicious evening meal at this restaurant.
