Great to see that Chillies is back to it’s normal great food and service after a bit of a slump. Under new management and looks like the problems are behind them. Delighted for Mahmoud’s family and the new team. Excellent food and great choice.

It was so sad to see this restaurant going downhill in terms of quality and certainly numbers but there have been new owners since December and the food was so much better and can only hope this will continue. Numbers seemed to be better but a lot of people will need convincing. I just hope that not too many costs are cost in the mean time. Had to ask for the heating to be on, there was only one pint of Kingfisher in the building and no sign of deserts any time soon. To get people back these details will need to be addressed.

The only issue I have is the time it takes for you to get food. We ordered a takeaway over the phone and was told 25 minutes. Once I got there, I waited about 20 minutes. But apart from that I was happy with the food it was nice. And I would definitely go again.

We stopped here on the off chance and it was certainly a good choice for us! Recently changed hands (as in the last few days) but the food was delicious and the service good too. Thank you to Chillies and good luck.

In that time we weren't asked if we wanted any poppadoms, and had to go to the bar just to get a drink. We were worried things may come out wrong as we had to point to the menu when ordering, and sure enough it did. But even worse, some of the dishes were tepid at best and the onion bhajis were stone cold. Decided to cut our losses, pay for the drinks we'd had and leave-at the same time as another table of 4 who had been there for 2 hours and only had their starters. Rather than offer an apology the owner/manager just walked off to the kitchen. Tells you all you need to know.

Delicious food that came out very hot and didn’t have to wait long. Staff were friendly and polite. Will definitely be going back!

Nice food and the hosts were brilliant

I do not understand the bad reviews directed at this restaurant. We have been going there for many years, albeit just four or five times a year, and have never been disappointed. This time we went on a Thursday evening and the take away trade was enormous so there must be many happy customers out there. We ate in and had great food, good service and all at a very reasonable price.

A really lovely curry. It was refreshing to have an interesting selection to choose from. The dishes I had were nicely spiced and very tasty. The staff were warm and welcoming. I can't wait to go again.

Took food back. Explained what was wrong with it to the owner. His response was not to expect anything like I’ve had before from him. I told him not to expect me to come back again! The owner doesn’t care about his business which is why it’s absolutely vile food. This place doesn’t need shutting down the owner needs to sell it on.

Do not go here please. The food is awful and inedible. We had food poisoning after a meal here and usually we never feel poorly after a meal. The service was just not excellent the owner claimed the aircon was due to be fixed and turned it off when a waiter had switched on for us. Coke drinks were very warm and no ice was offered. We asked for ice that came after we nearly finished the drinks. The spinach meal we had tasted like it had been made a few days ago after a mouthful we didn’t eat that as for the meal only the chef and the Lord know what we ate. Please honestly go across the road to Ganges stay well clear!

Food is always amazing here & I use this restaurant a lot but the way I was spoken to tonight was disrespectful & damn right rude well they lost a order of 3 courses for 4 people which we do most wks. I def won’t be using again.

Had an excellent meal at Chillies. Good service, an excellent range of starters, and tasty and well presented curries. The meal was enjoyed both by myself and my friends. An enjoyable evening out. Well done Chillies.

Ordered food from here yesterday evening. Got home with it and rang him immediately to tell him I’d never seen anything like this before and took the food back to the shop. He’s admitted to being a crap restaurant and told me himself not to expect anything like I’ve had before in his restaurant…that’s ok because I’ll never go back to his restaurant. When speaking to others regarding the poor quality of the food they have said it used to be good. The new owner admits that when the last owner passed away so did his recipe books. Avoid this one!

I ordered food online at 19.15 and got an email saying it would be an hour. Fine with that.. at 20.30 I called and was told that the food would be 15 mins, called again at 20.55, the food arrived and was tepid, to add insult to injury my balti was missing .. A great little restaurant. Food is banging, ice cold beers and great service. Its the best priced curry house around. Trust me as I have checked around. Also the takeaways and delivery's are really good. Friendly drivers and both are ex soldiers. You can even have cold beers delivered. 🍻 👌

We always have our take outs from here, nice large portions always hot and prompt delivery times. Best to order from their website not just eat etc.

We usually use the place a lot and never any issues. Well tonight what can I say 🤦🏻‍♂️ ordered at 6pm, food arrived at 7pm happy days right ? Order was completely wrong we had been given another order. Contacted restaurant and told 25mins “very sorry” 2hrs 15mins later at 915pm and numerous phone calls our food finally arrived. Barely warm, missing naan bread still and popadoms broken into tiny pieces. No offer of refund just pointless apologies. Terrible and will not be ordering again!

We had a family meal for 5. Food was tremendous alongside the great customer service. Would highly recommend. We had the chicken wrap and the lamb wrap. Well worth the money and was very filling.

Collected a takeaway from Chillies this evening and had a great chat with the owner. He was so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, really impressed with it! Can’t fault the service at all! Will definitely be going back again soon! Thank you!

Used this local restaurant for over twenty years. Just had the worst takeaway. Two curry’s very bland and aubergines Bhaji was just fried aubergine’s. Very disappointed. Maybe a different chef tonight ?

Wrong curries sent out on my order and one was half full at best. Bhaji’s were both burnt as well as the curries themselves being pretty gross. I called up and spoke to an argumentative, condescending staff member who immediately met me with aggression to the point I had to hang up. I’ve been going here for years without an issue and it’s almost as if they’re a different restaurant entirely. I would avoid at all costs moving forward. Honestly the most rude response I’ve ever encountered from a restaurant.

Called in for a takeaway, food was lovely and despite the 20 minute drive home the food was boiling hot when plated.

It's a great shame that this once very good resteraunt should go so far downhill. My last visit here in October was disappointing but this was on a far lower level. Waited for over an hour for order to be taken then another hour for some of the dishes to be served. Unable to serve a party with their meals at the same time, 2 so late that the rice had gone cold. Made excuses that they had not expected to be busy but plenty of empty tables and was certainly not full. Food decidedly average compared to how it used to be. Would not patronise this establishment again. Would not for one minute recommended.

I don't particularly like writing this as we used to love this restaurant until the previous owner passed away late last year. We have been back three times and tried all different dishes and have been totally underwhelmed each time. The service is good and friendly and the menu extensive but the actual dishes themselves seem to lack the interesting and piquant spices and are just so bland. So sad but clearly something has changed dramatically this year and though I am not one for really hot curry we do want some sort of heat and varied spice flavours.

My food was ordered at 6:25 last Saturday evening, I had an email to say the wait was 1 hour and that was fine. After 1:30 I called to chase the food and was told it would be with me in 30 mins, Unfortunately the food didn’t arrive until 9:05 and it was cold. I called the restaurant to complain and the fella said he would send the driver back with a refund and collect the food but that didn’t happen. I ended up with a kebab for dinner as cold curry doesn’t do it for me. It’s a shame as I’ve eaten from here for years but seems to be going downhill.

As a family we have used this restaurant for years. We will not be using it again. For the second time in a row, given the wrong order, the food was tepid when collected, cold when we got it home. Frankly, the food was insipid and bland. Could not even discern what the meat in one of the dishes was. Just so disappointed given how good the service used to be.

Chillies has always been our go to however we have been disappointed now on more than a few occasions. Food has been late, cold and worst of all bland. Food has been well off what it was as we will not be dining or ordering take out from here for the foreseeable future

So I just paid £70 for a delivery which half my order was missing and what did arrive was cold, manager insisted that he packed the “hot fresh food” himself and put the phone down as did not like my tone of voice. I’ve tried to support this place but tonight’s experience is definitely the end disgraceful attitude and inedible food even my dogs walked away from ZERO STARS

Reasonable in all. Lamb Jalfrezi is my favourite. Sometimes the taste is not consistent on repeat orders (rice). I had a missing order but restaurant quickly recovered and redelivered the meals.

Ordered a takeaway at 7:22 on Saturday evening online the email came saying a pit would take an one hour thirty minutes which was fine. No call from restaurant to say there would be a delay, Called restaurant at 9:30 told it was on its way, considering the restaurant is about five minutes away by car it arrived at 10 pm and was luke warm. Called the restaurant and given excuses and I asked them to collect the food and return my money as I won’t eat luke warm food. I was advised that I would have to call the following day to have my money returned and don’t worry I will be calling or going to the store for my refund. Would I order again from them and sorry to say my answer is no. Customer service there wasn’t any, if food is going to be delayed then call and let the person know, also don’t send driver with more food than he can keep warm as no one wants Luke warm food after waiting over two hours thirty minutes. I would like to say if you can’t honour orders then don’t take what you can’t deliver. Fingers cross I will get my money back tomorrow without any issues

My Chicken Tikka Madras...Or Should I Say c/Tikka in a RED LIQUID with No Substance was the WORST CURRY I'VE EVER HAD not sure what's going on and I waited 45mins to get it.

I have food from here a lot it is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to eating in is a delight and home delivery is great too.

There was a delay in our food being provided (about an hour), and one of the four dishes was lukewarm/cold, but aside from this, the food was really nice.

Great place, curry is good, service is good, all round good fun.

Love the food here, we prefer to get a takeaway just because you get even more and we live in the area. Thoroughly love the tikka massala.

Bought 5 DIFFERENT takeaway dishes from the House Specials menu. They all tasted the SAME. So not special, not worth the extra paid & definitely not recommended. Bye Bye Chillies, won't be back!

We visited Chillies on Saturday. Like "Murph" who has commented, the last time we visited just after Christmas it was pretty grim. However, I am delighted to report that our latest visit was a resounding success. The service was as welcoming and friendly as ever. The food was as good as it has ever been. A new chef, brought in by Shah, has revitalised the restaurant. For those people who have visited and been disappointed in the early months of this year, I strongly encourage you to try again. and you will not be disappointed. The loyal waiting staff, who have been working here years, are a pleasure to see again and they take a real pride in the food they are serving. This was a real pleasure. Go eat!

Awful service with owner arguing when he gets things wrong rather than trying to resolve it. Apparently the customer is always wrong. Not the same place since Mahmood passed away which is such a shame.

We visited Chillies on a Saturday night with family. The food was lovely and great value. The staff were polite and attentive. Recommended for a visit to anyone visiting the area.

I haven’t eaten the food yet and I can safely say we WILL NOT purchase food here again. There is a recent review about punctuality (or the lack thereof) and I wish I had read it before giving Chillies a chance. 40 mins wait for collection we were told. 80+ mins later I was still sitting in the car and my husband didn’t have our food yet. Apparently there is no sense of urgency either as he asked for our food twice. The manager apparently thought we should be thankful he went into the kitchen to progress our order. He actually hid in the kitchen for nearly 30 mins instead of updating his customers. I entered restaurant to ask for our money back before if EVENTUALLY came out. I was seemingly being unreasonable by stating it was wholly unacceptable. In for a penny as they say, only reason we stayed waiting! Won’t make the same mistake twice! Insult to injury, got the food now and the order is WRONG. Several items missing. What a HORRIFIC experience.

Booked for a table of 3 last night, on arrival we were seated as close to the door as you could get so every time the door was open it was so cold even though every other table was empty. Before we had even sat down we were asked if we wanted poppadoms and no drink. Even though poppadoms and sauce’s were obviously finished the waiter tried to place every item of mains onto table without clearing first. From getting through the door to leaving the whole experience was a rush . Unfortunately we won’t be returning again .

So, it’s Valentine’s Day, and i thought I’d treat my wife. Ordered a curry at 18:50 so it’s delivered when the kids are in bed. 20:30 and still no food. When it finally arrived at 20:50, it was completely wrong and clearly an order for one person. When I called to complain the manager said “can you not just share”. Absolute disgrace and will not be using chillies again!!!

Our favourite curry house. Visited 4 times in Eat out to help out as we were refurbing our kitchen. Staff always attentive and friendly. Good value for money and exceptional food. Subsequent visit 18mths later and my rating must change. We were really disappointed this time. What has happened? New staff maybe? We waited almost an hour for our main course had to remind them to bring a forgotten drink and waited for over 20mins for them to add up the bill and bring it to us. Value for money and standard of food saved the rating from being only a 2*. Sorry Chillies, must do better or there may not be a next time.

I have previously found chillies to be very good and punctual. However today they arrived very quick, I even mentioned it to the driver. When I opened it, it was obvious it had been re heated and drier than the Sahara. I have a photo of the 'freshly delivered' chicken tikka masala.

Excellent food with great service. We had the set meal for 2 which was excellent. Tender meat cooked in delicious spices. Both the railway curry and Chicken Tika Masala were unusually good.
