Not had a takeaway from here in a long time. After seeing the previous reviews, we were pleasantly surprised - one of the best we've had anywhere in a while, including some more expensive rivals. The rice wasn't multicoloured, nothing over sweetened, no unexpected spicy surprises (I like hot curry, but the rest of the family don't.) And all very tasty. Ready to collect on time. Will definitely use again.

Tonight, 17th December 2021, I ordered the £17.95 set meal option. Normally two poppadoms come with it, this time just one. I had ordered a chicken tikka masala and the tub it came in, normally full to the brim, was roughly one third full. The daal (lentils) also came in the normal sized tub yet the portion I received was roughly two thirds of the normal portion. I've used them for several years but they need to know that one bad experience like this is enough for me not to use them again.

First time I've used deedar yesterday and I can honestly say the last. Took over an hour to be delivered, then told on receipt of delivery I wasn't charged enough for delivery should of been an extra 4 pound. The food was not very nice at all very bland no spice or seasoning, I had the rogan josh looked like a onion stew and tasted worse. Cheese Nan bread breads were so stuck to the packet they came in only managed to retrieve half a nan per bag! Rest is still stuck to packet. Keema nan was just minced lamb again no spice or seasoning and the tikka masala was terrible. Would have been better going to morrisons and getting their pre made microwave meals. Beware!!!!

I’ve been using Deedars for takeaways for sometime but the delivery service can be very poor. Tonight I booked online at 6pm with a delivery expected by 7pm. I rang them at 7.30pm and finally received our food at 8pm- so had some very hungry and Disappointed children. This isn’t the first time this has happened to us, so I’d say beware!

Fab take away, as always. Love the chicken badami, just delicious. Prawn puri is my husbands favourite and nowhere makes it as well at Deedar. We do like to eat in too but had a very busy day and not a lot of time so opted for take away option. The only biggie on this occasion was the onion bhaji was rather overcooked, possibly reheated? However it was still very tasty.

Having been a customer since I moved into Devizes 6 years ago I have used deedar for every Indian takeaway despite their previous bad press when I arrived here. I have always been an advocate of them and there services. Tonight my loyalty is removed and recent management no longer realize loyal customers. Such a shame as I’ve always had good service in the past

I have used this place for years under a couple of different managers. It has always been good and if you eat in the staff are friendly. I usually order the meal for one as a takeaway and although I like to think I'm a big eater I could never eat all of this. A starter, a main course, a rice, a side, a naan bread and a couple of free popadoms. This usually does 2 meals for me.

We have been using Deedars every week since the current team have been at the helm. Mostly takeaways, but the odd eat in over the summer. The food is always spot on. The guys are friendly and helpful. Would recommend to everybody who thinks the quality of the food is the most important thing.

A friend of mine introduced me to the place when I first moved to Devizes about five years ago. I took my American son-in-law there when he and his family were visiting me and he loves it. Must have had a takeaway five times in the two weeks they were here!

The foods generally good. Ceylon and lamb shashlick tasty but not sure the £8.95 price on the shashlick is fair. It's essentially lamb tikka with half an onion, half a pepper and a tomato. Quite how that makes the dish £2.55 more expensive than tikka I'm not sure! The phall is usually good but this time was over loaded with curry powder and it over powered the dish. 2 free poppadoms were a nice touch. I ordered off just eat as you can't order in advance on the restaurants own website. I paid a £2.00 delivery charge and a 50p service charge, all fair enough I thought. When the food arrived the menu states that delivery is free!!! So basically I was charged for delivery as I used just eat. If the £2.50 had been presented as a service charge I would have waited and ordered from the restaurant directly. Its a bit naughty really and I am a little annoyed about it.

This restaurant has only been an eat-in restaurant for the last 2 years so it was never a place we had previously considered for an evening meal. It was only due to local radio adverts that we thought to try it.

always considered this one of the best Indian restaurants in town, Eventually we decided to have a sit down meal in the recently refurbished dining area. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table the service was highly attentive explaining the ingredients of a number of the dishes to my wife. You can see the cooking area and could not see anything to be concerned about and as an EHO felt pretty reassured given some of the previous negative press, My wife went for the butter chicken whilst I had a jalfrezi we had a portion of mushroom rice sag paneer, onion bahjees's and a keema naan all of which tasted and looked fantastic and just as it should do. On receiving the bill we were happy with this and beleive the experience was value for money and look forward to returning in the near future

This is an Indian takeaway. Apart from the names of the items on the menu, I found it hard to recognise the food I was served up with, or what it had to do with India. Most of the meal went into the bin. My lamb dhansak was about five pieces of tough chewy meat in a day-glo orange gloopy sauce. Chapattis were soggy & chewy with the consistency of damp blotting paper. Bhindi bhajia bordered on the edible. I would never go there again. Fortunately there are three other excellent Indian restaurants within a few hundred yards.

We went on a Thursday evening when Deedar do there banquet special for £10 a head. The food was freshly cooked and high quality, very generous portions and friendly and attentive staff. We've been to Deedars several times before as well as other Indian restaurants in town, but I have to say that the quality of cooking at Deedar is excellent. It's a small restaurant that also does takeaway and food is cooked to order. Well worth a visit.

Friendly simple set up. (When the ladies asked for wine, the choice was red or white. What kind of red? "Francey.") I tasted 4 starters and 5 mains, and all were great. Left absolutely stuffed, though also stinking due to the open plan nature of the kitchen!

Deedars is quite a small restaurant, with no more than 6 or so tables, though it does also do takeaways and deliveries. The menu contains all of the classic dishes you would expect as well as some interesting specials. The staff are friendly and service is generally good, although I have had to wait a little too long for orders on a few occasions. All in all, a decent place to get your curry fix.

We have eaten in at Deedars a few times and also had take-always. In our opinion it is the best Indian in town. The food is really terrific and very authentic and, if you want yo vary a dish, they are more than happy to do it. The restaurant is very basic but the service is efficient and friendly. Every dish is made to order and you know this as you can see in the very busy, pretty small kitchen. We moved to Devizes about a year ago and have tried all the other Indian restaurants. We think this one wins hands down every time.

The Deedar often goes unheard due to the commotion made over the other Indian restaurants in town but this is hands down the best one. If you're going to eat in it's great fun - the waiters are attentive and always willing to help you out and recommend some spicy dishes! If you're taking away it's wonderful food for a night in and the service is so friendly. My personal favourite dishes are the onion bhajis, chicken biryani, taaka dahl and the peshwari naan which is to die for!
