Maggies Plaice in Lincoln

Recommended highly ,and was not disappointed . Will definitely be returning .

i really hate giving bad reviews but I have to with this place, as my partner and I both felt unwell the next day after eating from here. chips not properly cooked, haddock extremely greasy (and only had due to them not selling cod). really expensive for what it is, 2 large chips, haddock, bread roll and curry sauce for £19. very disappointing experience.

been here 4 times its my closest chipshop, and the food taste nice thats not the issue. its the fact that "large" chips is basically a small chips in any other chips shop in lincoln and yet cost more than any other chipshop in lincoln.

Great experience here, lovely big haddock, delishiously cooked to perfection! Great service from the lovely big guy who is always friendly and chatty. Came from Norfolk and I believe I know good fish. This one here was pretty much in their own ligue! Thank you! Philip and Ana.

Chips could have taken a little longer as they were slightly hard inside. The spam fitter could have also taken longer as the batter on the outside was lovely and crispy but soggy on the inside.

Proper old school chip shop great service and great food

What used to be s decent chippie has now got to be the worse in Lincoln. Two large portion of chips, went round 3 people, 5 tubs of curry sauce 17 pound they have the cheek to charge. If you want to be ripped off this is the chippie for you. Me i will stick with fish king on the forum. There you get two large portions of chips that go round 5 people, bigger curry pots and at 13 pounds a lot cheaper and better chips

Been wanting to try this chip shop for a bit now...Well I wish I stayed with my normal chippy ...I was very disappointed ordered Fish and regular chips ...Fish was ok but the chips were very poor . Hardly any chips ...Won't be going again...ever..

Had a missed call from here. Called Ns spoke to an old man who was aggressive and rude. Shocking. Avoid. Avoid, Avoid!!!!

Very nice fish and chip 🍟 one of good choices is the small fish 🐟 and chips 😋 suppers with peas or curry ,beans, ideal for poeple with smaller apetite at very good price and all with a big smile and chat from the big fellow and staff. Now all you got do is call in put your order in and enjoy, you will not be let down.

Very good chippy! Good tasty fish and chips does not repeat on you. Not greasy, good portions, every thing freshly fried will recommend.

Spot on! The lovely gent behind the counter was friendly, the portions were generous and the chips... Oh the chips were superb! All on all 10/10. Loved it.

Called in on the way home not knowing what to expect - it was organised, quick, friendly. The fish was skinless, moist with crispy batter. Delicious and worth going a couple of extra miles for.

I’m only 13 and have been coming here since little. With being young some of the foods a bit pricey but always worth it. Not once have I had bad food from here. Very friendly staff! Wish they’d do a medium sized chips tho. Large could be bigger for the price!

This place was recommended as I was visiting from ‘up North’. I can categorically say that the haddock and chips - fresh to order - is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Had a cracking chat with the owner whist my order was prepared - what a decent bloke. I wish I had a chippy like this near me, I’d never be away. Can’t fault it.

I've been a long time customer at Maggies, and never been let down. Tonight I had the fish and chips offer and it was absolutely delicious. The fresh crispy batter to the traditional cut chips make for a perfect fish and chip Friday.

Probably the most underrated takeaway in Lincoln. Everything cooked to order while you are there so everything is fresh old school cuts of chips. The owner is old school but is there every hour that the shop is trading and knows his trade well. Would recommend to anyone.
