Great Indian food cooked while you wait, very tasty and on the main road. Plenty of parking space and the food was reasonably priced

Great surroundings and ambiance, excellent food & service, extremely good value. If your favourite isn't on the menu, ask for it anyway and chef will oblige. They don't serve alcohol but it's ok to take your own. They will open for lunch on Christmas Day if there is enough interest. (Otherwise I'll be picking ours up on Christmas Eve - everybody knows curry is best next day.)

I visited Madiha with my partner and our friends and ate delicious food. Our server was incredibly courteous and friendly, he made our night. We had three different curries, plus sundries, and couldn’t fault any of it. If you’re in the area and love curry. This is the place to go.

During the tourist season (March to November), we visit this restaurant almost each time we stay at our static van. It is a bit of a drive (20 minutes) from Porthmadog, but always worth the effort. Outstanding food, and very polite attention from the lovely waiter. It is a surprise that it is always very quiet when we visit, and people staying nearby should make the effort to check the Madiha out, you won't be disappointed.

Really tasty food. We got a take away and the staff were really helpful when we called up to place the order. They went and checked on various allergens and it felt really safe ordering from there. The food was well above the usual take away standard and we really enjoyed our meal. If we lived nearer, we’d definitely be regulars!

Apologies but need to set the scene before the food review. OK so I was on a camping trip and Googled Curry Houses near Porthmadog. I then put my trust in the reviews. So this place is in middle of nowhere but lovely setting. We turned up and you get this sense of dread as it does look very run down with some dodgy extension on the back. I used to live in London so you get to know worrying curry house signs. But the nagging question was the place had good and what looked like genuine reviews. I walked in to check it was open. Place was empty and asking the waitress (very friendly and helpful) for a table she did seem to pause as if it was fully booked (no reservation signs on table) before allocating me a table for me and my teenagers. Inside it seemed stuck in the past with what looked like garish wallpaper tablecloths. In my head, a voice was shouting run but it had ben a long day and I was hungry and tired - British Stiff Upper Lip not wanting to make a scene (also car was facing wrog way for quick getaway). "We will know if it is bad tomorrow morning" - I reassured my children. "Dad - there is a sticker in the window saying 3 stars out of 5 for hygiene ?" There was no alcohol drinks just fizzy drinks and free jugs of water. Later customers brought their own booze. I started to relax a bit as what appeared locals came in for large takeaways - can't be bad can it ? In trepidation, we placed our order. After a reasonable wait food turned up and was nicely presented by a friendly waiter. Two Kormas and a Pathia, rice, chips (one teenager did not want rice) and garlic Naan. Well like the bottom bit of rollercoaster after worrying build up - the food was really good even go as far as to say the Pathia was one of the best I have had. Naan was lovely. My teenager loved the chips which had been cooked crispy. All of it eaten except the left over chips which went with us in a box - and finished later. I would give 5 out of 5 but really the decor, drinks etc. need a bit of a shake up. Maybe also think of doing delivery, there are several large campsites in the area where I know people would love a curry.

As a family, we have without fail, always had exceptionally high quality, perfectly cooked food at this establishment. The menu is varied and cater for every taste on the ‘heat’ scale(hubby particularly enjoys a Dansak) and the list of House specials is mouthwatering! The staff are always friendly and welcoming too. We tried this restaurant few years ago and it was a bit faulty towers indian style as one reviewer put it, but as we were staying locally thought we would give it another go which im glad we did, very reasonably priced compared to others but no less quality, it was empty when we arrived so place was clean and tidy ,another couple of familys turned up while we were there, this was a friday night. The food was lovely i had tandoori special and lamb korahi ,partner had lamb balti with chips rice naan etc all was extremely nice, waiter/owner not sure was polite friendly, even offered our 6 year old a pint of cobra, service was great not too long to wait for food but obviously not just pinged in microwave, only slight criticism which i mentioned to waiter was no garnish with samosas which were lovely though, just to give positive feedback, otherwise meal was perfect, would not normally leave reviews but credit where its due, shame it was last night of our holiday but will definately return next year.

We were holidaying in the area and walked in for dinner at 7pm. It was quite quiet, however filled up quickly. In addition there were 5 large takeaway orders that came through in the next 30 mins. The young gentleman taking our food order was really friendly and polite, recommending us dishes on request. Food did take time to arrive (we asked for starters and mains together), but was delicious, and better than the average Indian restaurants I have tried. we visit the Madiha quite often when at Porthmadog, even if it requires a bit of a drive. Usually quiet, and they do struggle a little when busy, but good food and nice staff who remember us. Worth going to as an alternative to Porthmadog, but do be aware that a wait may happen on busier time, and there is usually a few labourers in the lounge area just drinking.

! ! Habla volúmenes.

We visit madiha regularly, never let down. I take my partner there and sometimes my daughter. We have tried many many curry houses including welsh curry house of the years twice, but this one could possibly be better for the food quality. Drinks could do with being colder sometimes, but that's the only thing! Babel and his staff are always good, the atmosphere is relaxed there, I have read reviews on here saying it is rowdy sometimes around the TV waiting area but the staff are flexible about where you want to sit so I would not let this put you off as the food is excellent and portions generous. The nann breads seem cooked to perfection compared to other places, and they will vary the spiciness of the dish you choose if you ask them when ordering. Well worth a visit.

We've been coming here once a year for the past 3 years and always had a great experience (see my review from last year) but this time it was a complete change. We had reserved a table for 12 people and upon arrival they were not ready for us and had to set up our table, keeping all 12 of us standing in the entrance so others could gaze at us while they ate. We didn't recognise the 2 staff members that were there and then quickly realised that the restaurant is under new management. The restaurant was quite busy and they only had these 2 staff members doing all the work (taking orders, running the bar, bringing food out, taking empty glasses and plates, etc), this reflected the service that we were all getting – we had to wait long, sat at the table without anyone coming to take a drinks order, food was missed out when it did come out, and the taste of all the dishes from the previous visits had drastically gone downhill which means the chef has also changed. We will be not be coming back here next year - No fault of the 2 staff that were trying to keep up with it all but the management should review and accommodate their own quality and services.

We have recently chosen to travel to Porthamadog with all the family each year.. and we attended this restaurant last weekend in a group of 12. From the moment we walked in until we left we could not fault a single thing. We were very welcomed, the staff were all friendly, the food was fantastic and the service was great too. If you like spicy food then try the Naga curry - absolutley delicious. A big thank you to all the staff at Madhia.. We'll be back each year now for more.Saj

We've had several visits, had different dishes and enjoyed them all. The staff are friendly and the service is usually quite efficient. They are good with young children too. Prices are reasonable and they do take out.

A lovely indian with excellent choice of Bengal dishes. I would recommend the Murghi Pathanga or the Jopproni on the list of chef's recommendations. All starters approx £3 and main meals approx £6.50The staff are very friendly. Located on the main road between Porthmadog and Caernarfon with ample parking spaces. They do accept telephone orders for take aways aswell.

I went in to lemon grass yesterday and we had an amazing time!! The food is amazing and overall atmosphere is amazing and so welcoming! The menu features a wide array of dishes, I had the butter chicken and some curry. Both were exquisite and cooked to perfection. The garlic naan is a must-try—fluffy and perfect for scooping up curries. Service is honestly incredible and friendly, the chef came out and said hi and the waiters were so nice and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Overall, Lemon grass is a fantastic choice for anyone craving delicious Indian cuisine. Highly recommended!

Food ok. Good nan bread. Fast service, starter arrived minute's after been given popadoms. Worst chutney tray ever, don't bother. Advertising Monday as banquet night, but not doing it when you go in. Take your own alcohol or buy at pub next door.

I have been going here for many years whilst camping in the area. Yes it is run down and untidy, but the food has always been good. Tonight they asked for cash, which we didn't have so they had to relent and we paid by card, so what was the issue? We had to ask for a receipt and were given a hand written one. All this has left us a bit uncomfortable and we have decided we won't be going again.

Fantastic welcome to be had in the restaurant very pleasant and welcoming. Very good seating not cramped good spacious restaurant. Choice of food was very good and remember if it’s not on the menu ask and they may be able to accommodate your request as everything is cooked fresh. Chopsticks and mandatory bowl are available as I always eat this particular kind of food this way personally I think it enhances the flavour. Will definitely be back.
